The usual, nervous Herbology professor had apparently gone on holiday. Or finally emigrated to Australia once and for all. There was no fidgeting or ear burnage. Nope, the Sage Dodson that was currently adding the finishing touches for today's class was unusually chipper and bouncy as he set large plant pots and trowels at each work station.
This lesson was going to be GOOD. Charms and Herbology all rolled into one.
"I think we're good to go," he said, glancing in Lexi's direction as he pushed open the door ready for the students to enter. Professor Carlton. He had to remember to address her as Professor Carlton in front of the kids.
"It's not who you are that holds you back, it's who you think you are not."
SPOILER!!: Professor Dodson

"Let's get started then, shall we?" He asked, glancing at Lexi to make sure she was ready before closing the greenhouse door behind Mia.
"So! Herbology and Charms," he started, clapping his hands together and looking around the room. The comments from the Denver boy threw off his train of thought and Sage felt his ears burn red. Okay. He was ignoring that..
"In many ways, two completely different subjects," he quickly carried on, willing his ears to cool off. "Like most subjects though, they can be integrated.. they can work together. Who has any ideas of how Charms and Herbology can be related? Be creative!"
Alice opened her mouth but was slightly distracted but the somewhat weird conversation going on between Professor Carlton and the boy Alice was pretty sure was Lexi's brother. How very strange....
Not to mention the way that one girl was staring at Professor Dodson was enough to make anyone uncomfortable. What was up with her?
"Well, you can use charms to help in the general maintenance of plants such as moving them, making them bigger or smaller, watering them, improving their soil, etc. Also I suppose charms can be useful in handling some of the more dangerous plants like the Venamous Tentacula, which I read are teething right now?"

With a small sigh he raised his hand. "Herbivicus." He paused and then elaborated, "Its a charm and it makes plants grow faster. Not just by enlarging them or whatever, since that isn't real growth, but by actually speeding up the growth and maturing process. Helpful if you need to harvest something from a mature plant, right? Theres also Mobiliarbus which is a movement charm especially for transporting plants so that they suffer as little shock as possible when transporting or transplanting them."
What? Herbology was his favourite subject.

He hated having to think when answering questions. Making connections and using logic... just no.
"Uhhhh... like, making super big plants? OH! Like, like, like uhh, when, uhm... like to make a ladder out of vines."
Alex... had been reading some wizarding novels... that's what gave him his ideas.
"And then the knowledge of plants comes from... well, it could be a devil's snare you're making a vine from, and the ladder... well... it wouldn't really work."

Herbology and Charms
together?
Well...Josh liked Charms classes but Herbology? Bleh... He did not even like Herbology when Bunz was teaching it and now he had to listen to that Dodson man during the lesson, at least Professor Carlton was there. Then putting his bag to the empty seat next to him he looked around the class only to see Evelyn and Destiny sitting with Patroclus. Hmm. That boy was not around for quite a time maybe he had problems solved. Who knew?
Anyway
Back to the class...he intently listened to all the answers the other students mentioned to the Dodson man's question aand he thought he had an idea too ''Professor-s...'' soo he began raising a hand ''Charms can be used to harvest..well...stuff from plants. Charms can also be used to protect ourselves from dangerous plants'' But which charm? He had no idea...
Hehe

Her efforts in Hogsmeade went unnoticed, or he's playing hard to get. Either way, the chase was still on. She swooned when he spoke, but what was she talking about? Had the teacher asked them something? He indeed had, but Angie was too busy day dreaming about the Griffy 4th year.
She listened to his answer and was fairly sure the question had to do with why their in a joint lesson for charms and herbology. Angie thought she should try and interject some answers, but couldn't think of anything at the moment. Plus the other answers that were given seemed like all good ideas.

Well that was weird. He was definitely not aware Charms and Herbology were combined now. Or maybe Professor Carlton was in training to take over for Professor Dodson? Yeah he'd probably be checking into St. Mungo's any day now to get his twitchy nervous disorder checked out. Never mind that the guy looked perfectly fine today; Fletcher was not convinced.
"So you're both teaching Herbology today?" the Hufflepuff asked conversationally, looking between the professors as he picked out a work station near the front. He was about to add on to that when that Slytherin kid said something with rather... uh.... inappropriate connotations. Fletcher's mouth went wide into a comical O shape before he quickly shut it and started chuckling instead.
Heheheheheheh. He had to hand it to Dylan Denver. The boy had courage. Or stupidity. Either way, it was hilarious. But never mind that, class was starting! AHH!
"You can... charm a plant to grow bigger or smaller," Fletcher answered loudly to cover up his snickering a moment earlier. "And you could like, use aguamenti to water 'em."
Duh.
GAH GEMMA you just had to post at the same time as me. =P Please don't count me late.
"No, not just Herbology" Lexi said, glancing toward Duncan!Fletcher as he asked if they were both teaching Herbology today. "We're teaching a joint Charms/Herbology class...merging the two together." Perhaps he's already understood that, though, as he was now answering Sage's question about that very same topic. "...and, right, both are good answers."

She started to move on to the student, but when the Denver killed yelled out, she paused for a moment to make sure he hadn't been eaten by one of the plants. Seeing that he was indeed still there with all his limbs in tact, she moved on.

...only to find that she was no longer there. Whaa? Hmm? Scanning the room, Lexi finally found her seating next to the Fletcher kid. Had she been there all along? Was Lexi 1 going mad? Many times in herbology they were required to find a partner. It didn't appear as though Josh knew that girl was here. She thought she'd take this opportunity to seize her partner.
Angie snuck up behind Josh and placed her hand on his shoulder, "Hey Josh. I was wondering, if we end up needing partners, wanna be mine?"

Angie snuck up behind Josh and placed her hand on his shoulder, "Hey Josh. I was wondering, if we end up needing partners, wanna be mine?"
Right after the professor agreed to his words, Josh smirked and turned to look at the Herbology textbook in his bag. Maybe participating in class was not so bad, ha? And maybe classes were not so boring and maybe studying was not a deadly thing and maybe Herbology was not a bad subject. Then looking at the pot before him, he was starting to think maybe plants meant more than only fruits when he realised that he had indeed started to think like a Ravenclaw. Eeep.
As if looking away the pot would take the thought out his mind, the Gryffindor boy immediately looked around and did it just in time to see Evelyn smiling at him. This, of course, wiped out all the scary thoughts of being a Ravenclaw immediately. So, looking happy the boy smiled back at the Slytherin girl and was about to say something to her when he felt a touch on his shoulder.
Hmm...
Therefore he looked back and saw that it was Angie, the girl he had met in Hogsmeade. And it looked like she had a question. Partners? Hmm. Before replying to that he glanced at Evelyn's direction again. She was with Patroclus and Destiny ''Sure'' then he said with a little smile. ''But i warn you. I am not great at that plant stuff''

It was probably slightly irresponsible of him, but Sage fell into a daydream when Lexi started to comment on the students' answers. Lots and lots of answers. Good thing she decided to handle the answers.. he barely knew a thing about Charms.. simple pruning and watering charms was all.
"Right, before we can start with the Charms, we need something to ... well, Charm." Fresh out of his day dreaming, Sage blinked around the classroom. "I trust by now, most of you should know the basics when it comes to planting seeds and bulbs." He hoped so. Otherwise he clearly wasn't doing his job properly and the last thing he wanted was to get fired.
"But for those of you that don't... First things first, we need to fill our pots with soil, making sure you work out any lumps," he explained, shoving his hand in one of the various large bags of soil he'd set up around the room and dropping it into the pot. Hmmm, did Lexi want to join in? Chewing his lip unsurely, the Herbology professor nudged the pot in the direction of his colleague before addressing the class once more.
"Pop in the flower of your choice, cover with the soil and give it a little watering." Simple. "I'll put the instructions on the board in case you need a reminder.. any questions?"

Phew! No man eating flowers today. Kurumi picked up her supplies along with a Flame Lily bulb and returned to her work station. Were they supposed to use Charms the entire time they were dealing with plants? Kurumi took out her wand, but decided to do the first part by hand just to make sure that she wasn't flinging soil all over the place.
After filling her pot with soil, and having a small pile of stones next to her, she used her thumb to make an indent in the soil and plopped her bulb in to check the depth. After making the hole just a bit deeper, she put her bulb in and covered it with soil. All that was left now was to water it. Now, she took out her wand and whispered, "Aguamenti," so that a small stream of water sprouted out of her wand. Once the soil was damp enough, she returned her wand to her pocked and waited for further instructions.

Sophia filled her pot with soil, and she made a little hole with her finger. She might have made the whole a little to deep, but she didn't really think that mattered too much. She blanted the Flame Lilies bulb, and recovered it with soil. "Aguamenti!" she said, watering her plant.
Lilyana smiled. She definitely knew which flower she was going to choose-a lily...her favorite flower!
She put the soil in the pot and took a few small stones out and removing clumps after feeling around it with her hands. She made a small hole where she could put her bulb. She picked up her lily bulb, looked at it for a second, then dropped it in the hole and covered it up. She picked up her wand, whispered Aguamenti and watered the flower. She hoped that it would turn out really pretty!

Simon listened as the class was turned over to Professor Dodson and he instructed them in what they were to do. He glanced over where the professor mentioned the bulbs and when they were free to begin, he went to retrieve on of the trumpet daffodil bulbs before returning to his spot.
Grabbing several handfuls of dirt one after the other, the Gryffindor soon filled up his pot. Gingerly combing through it and making sure no large stones were withing, Simon dug a hole that seemed large enough to fit his bulb. Setting it inside, he added a small bit of dirt beneath to bring it up a little higher before covering it as well. The 5th year patted it down with his lightly dirt-stained hands and when satisfied slipped his wand from his pocket.
"Aquamenti," he cast careful to keep the strength and duration of the spell short to only lightly dampen the soil.
. Fill your pot with soil. Make sure to work out any lumps and toss away any large stones.
2. Make a small hole indentation in the soil. This hole should be roughly 1 ½ to 2 times deeper than the width of the seed/bulb you are planting.
3. Plant the seed/bulb of your choice and proceed to cover with soil.
4. Make sure soil is firmly patted down and give it a light sprinkling of water.
Fee listened carefully and then looked up to the chalk board.Reading the instructions she concentrated.Okay first the pot.
Taking her put she removed the little large stones on the bottom and checked for lumps.Okayyy the pot was ready now. Moving on to the next step.
Okay so she really needed to make a whole with her finger? Eww... Come on,Fee!
Slightly looking away she made a deep enough whole and looked at her finger disgusted before she took out a handkershief to clean it a little at least.
Choosing a seed she covered it with soil, so it couldnt be seen anymore. Yea looked good.Patting it down, making sure it was perfectly done she took out her wand and laid it down beside her beofre taking it.
Okay now to the last step. Dont worry Fee, everything will be fine. Just some soil..
"Aguamenti", she aimed her wand at the soil. Was she done now?!

The Slytherin lad looked to the side of the classroom where Professor Dodson pointed at Eh... flowers. noting that they looked like regular Muggle flowers and doesnt appear to be the biting kind.
He picked out the green flower seed and proceeded to fill his pot with soil. Digging into the dirt with his gloves, he filled the pot, tapping and shaking to even it out, tossing away any pebbles that emerged. He then stuck a finger in the middle of the soil, creating an average sized hole and dropped the seed into it. Patting dirt back into the hole, the lad took off a glove and picked up his wand "Aguamenti" he cast quietly, watering the buried seed.

Ooh, they were going to plant their own flowers!! Alice quickly went over and grabbed one of the pots, before scooping out enough soil to fill the pot to just the right amount that the plant would feel secure but not overwhelmed. One had to keep the interest of the plant in mind, right?
Alice tosses aside a couple of rocks which had snuck their way into the soil, uninvited, before making an indent into the soil with her fingers. Alice had grabbed a Tulipa 'Spring Green' to plant since she thought it was beautiful in all its simpleness. She made sure the indent was deep enough in comparison to the size of her seed, and gently plopped the seed into the indented spot.
She covered the seed with the soil that had been taking out to make the hole, patting it down firmly so that the seed was secure in the pot. Now to add some water...
Alice took her wand out of its holster and said, "Aguamenti," giving the right amount of water so that the soil was moist, but not soggy or drowning in water. Now she just had to wait for further instructions.

Oh no. skin contact with dirt...There really was no way around it.
She took a deep breath and followed the instructions down to the last letter. She finished off by sprinkling the soil with water. When she was done, she wiped her hands off her handkerchief then took her want, pointed it at her hand and said "Scrougify." Then she pointed her wand towards the piece of cloth and repeated the spell before returning it into its sparkly silver holster.
Charms with Herbology!!!
Something Alex never ever hoped for..
What is she going to do. She was not good at Herbology she knew that..
Today she will be quite sitting in some corner as she hardly knows how charms is applicable in Herbology rather she did not know the spells for sure.. "Are they going to anything with the Devils Snare or something?" Alex thought because Alex just knew only one spell that deals with the Snare and whole plant stuff was a bouncer to her..
She was waiting to at least give an answer to one question but not getting any chance..
Alex decided to wait..

Destiny was being eyed up by Professor Carlton and she had NO idea why. Like SHE never thought of using a permanent sticking charm on someone that had a pot stuck on her head. She would have asked, but then all of a sudden, Dodson came back to life. Really, Carlton was not that boring..making him fall asleep in CLASS!
He should have points removed from Hufflepuff for that. Just because.
Attention on Professor I-Fall-Asleep, Destiny watched what they had to do. That was all? Plant a FLOWER!? She could totally do this with her eyes closed. She could do this while she was ASLEEP, but if she were to fall asleep, she'd get in trouble. Whatever!!! Pulling her pot closer to herself, she once again tried to stick her head in it. Still, the pot was too small, so removing her face from around the rim, she stuck her hand in the bag of soil that just so happened to be sitting right next to her. What a lucky duck, eh? Filling the pot and getting soil all over, she stuck her finger in the center, making a hole so she'd be able to place the seed.
Now she needed a seed, but which to chose!?
It was a tough decision, but she decided on the blue pearl..because, well, it was blue..duh. Standing from her seat, she skipped her way over to the nearest tray and snatched up a seed. She wanted to take more than one but refrained from doing so. Skipping her way back to her seat, she dropped the seed in the hole before covering it with the soil with a few not so gentle pats. "Easy stuff." she said, and drawing her wand, she pointed it towards the soil. "Aguamenti."
Why wasn't it growing yet!?

Many times in herbology they were required to find a partner. It didn't appear as though Josh knew that girl was here. She thought she'd take this opportunity to seize her partner.
Angie snuck up behind Josh and placed her hand on his shoulder, "Hey Josh. I was wondering, if we end up needing partners, wanna be mine?"

Teehee, he smiled back. But it wasn’t enough! That girl was still with him there.
AND…she…
She DARE put a hand on his shoulder!? She was just doing that to get under Evelyn’s skin wasn’t she? Well, it was working. It was working so much in fact, that she was trying her hardest to resist picking up this pot, and throw-
No. No that was going a little overboard. So, Evelyn was protective of her things. Extremely, protective. But that didn’t mean she had to go around throwing pots at people. Hexing was sooo much better. When there weren’t teachers around of course. She’d sooner or later bump into the girl in the Slytherin common room. Or better yet, the girl’s dormitory where even Raiden couldn’t witness anything.
She just…needed to wait. And to calm down.

Putting on her dragonhide gloves since she was not doing this with her bare hands (who knew what was in that soil really), the Slytherin filled her pot with soil before making sure there were no lumps in it. Every now and then she'd peak over at Josh and the Nameless girl to see what they were up to.
Better ONLY be planting the plants. None of that touchy stuff!
Flicking out a few large stones, and they just so HAPPEN to move over to the back of the room, but nowhere near Josh...which unfortunately meant nowhere near the girl...Evelyn narrowed her eyes and decided to just not look. Pffft. PFFFTTT!!!!
Creating a small hole in the soil right in the middle, the fourth year got up and picked up a random seed before going back to her seat. It would be one of a Flame Lilly later on when she actually noticed what flower it was.
Covering the seed with soil, she patted it down before taking off her gloves and placing them to the side. Good ENOUGH! Now the hard part. Watering the plant without hexing the girl. It was oh so easy to have her hand twitch towards the back of the room, but then again....Josh was blocking her. DANGIT! Sneaky person she was, doing that. Did that on purpose? Yes, we thought so!
"Aguamenti." she muttered, letting the water soak into the soil for a few moments before stopping the spell. Hmph!

Hum de dum. This wasn't difficult. Fletcher ignored the fuming Amber girl seated beside him and went about carrying out the tasks as Twitchy!Man had described them.
He filled up his pot to a sufficient level and then followed that by inserting one of the flame lilies into his little indentation. "There ya go, bub," Fletcher spoke softly to the plant as he proceeded to cover it back up with great swooping passes of dirt. Never mind silly things like wearing gloves; he relished in the feeling of dirt under his finger nails.
"So we water it with Aguamenti?" Fletcher raised one of his grimy, dirt-stained hands and waved it about carelessly, probably sprinkling crumbs of filth on the Gryffindor next to him. "Is that how Charms play in, professor.....s?" Cuz he wasn't waiting for a response on that one. Nope. Fletcher went ahead and sprinkled the bulb with his wand. Good times. Easy task.

Oh they are gong to plant something? Well. At least it's not bad as harvesting the pustule like last lesson. Freya putted on her gloves before walking to the side of the classroom to grab her plant. Hmm..Let's see. After thinking about a few minutes what plant she'd like to plant, she choose the Flame Lilies. She went back to her desk work to begin working with her plant.
Okay. First thing first. She grabbed her pot and filled it with soil. She checked for any lumps and rocks in the soil. After she was sure that there wasn't any lumps and rocks, she made a small indentation hole for her seed. She put the seed into the indentation hole and then covered it with soil, she patted down. Now, watering the seed. She pulled out her wand and pointed towards the soil and muttered the incantation "Aguamenti!" and a light sprinkle of water come out from her wand.
