Travis sighed, and then the room went black someone was covering his eyes. He smiled as he smelled rains and roses, and heard her voice. "Could it be my lovely friend Amber," he said teasingly as he remove her hands from hsi eyes and looked at her, "indeed it is."

Anna pushed her glasses up her nose. "Um, only to come up to the castle." She said. She had seen the grounmds out the windows but not really much. She had come straight from the feast behind a bunch of 4th years because she was afraid to get lost. "Why? Whats it like?"

" Well, my duty as "The Knight off Gryffindor is to protect you from all those boys unless you say no" Rex explained to Daisy. "Well, I am sure those BeauxBaton girls speak English, too" Rex told Daisy. "Would "the lady of Gryffindor" protect "The Knight of Gryffindor" from all those cute girls?" Rex asked Daisy.

Amber smiled, looking down at Travis. "Well, hello there handsome. How is the infamous heart-breaker doing today?" She teased him, plopping down next to his feet on the couch. She got a hair-tie from her wrist and put her auburn-colored hair into a ponytail. She looked around and wondered where Brant had gotten to. She hadn't seen him since the feast.

Lilyana walked up to the fat lady, said the password, and stepped through the portrait hole. She hadn't really checked out the common room much since the feast. So she stood there, looking around, maybe hoping to find a place to sit. So far, she wasn't seeing anyone she knew, but then again, she had only met and talked to maybe 3 people so far....

Heather could groan if she just didn't think it would be rude to groan in front of other people. 'Great. A professor i should be careful of...' she thought, hugging her doll tighter again at the thought of having a scary professor.

"a-aren't you scared Joshua?" she asked. "i-i mean...you're g-going to pull some fun things o-on this professor...and you said...she's c-cold and s-scary...and you m-might get detention...and...y-you might lose h-housepoints and everything..." Heather still didn't seem to think of Joshua as so much as a trouble maker, but she dare not question his plans too much. She still hasn't seen him pull any tricks yet, and she guessed he might be awesome at such. Perhaps...she hoped...she could loosen up from following rules for awhile and ask Josh to teach her and Kurumi some tricks as well, only to be careful enough not to get caught and end up in detention. Her mother would send her a howler if she ended up in detention and she hates howlers.

Kurumi heard the door to the common room swing open and looked up from her book. Another girl had just entered, she noted in her head how many girls she had met and laughed a little. She waved at the girl and, while the space was limited since Adam had dozed off, there was still a tiny bit of room on the sofa.

Kurumi turned her attention back to Heather. Clearly, Josh had not told her that he was the master of everything and that included losing House Points. He had told Kurumi that it would be her job to earn back the ones he had lost, but Heather would probably learn all that soon enough.
"Heather, didn't you say that you got a letter from your mother?"

Travis smiled at her, "I am perfectly fine," he said with a grin, "how is the lovely Miss Amber today?". He smirked teasingly and leaned back in his chair, he watched her put her hair up, "You look much prettier with your hair down."

Lilyana looked over to the girl waving her over to where she was. This was the first older year to actually agknowledge her! She chuckled a bit at how surprised she was at this.Silly me. It's just another person she thought. She walked over, eying the small space, and sat down on the small bit of sofa. Hi, I'm Lilyana. I'm a first year, but you can probably tell that. I look so much younger than everyone else! She hoped she wouldn't be annoying to the girl!

"I'm fine, thanks." Amber grinned, but then blushed and bit her lip. "I thought you promised you would cut that out." She looked down, picking at the nail polish on her fingernails. He'd promised at the cafe to stop making her blush so much. She hated it when she blushed, even if Travis thought she looked pretty when she did.

"You don't look any older than me," she laughed offering her hand. She would have stood and bowed like she was used to, but she didn't want to disturb Adam who was sleeping next to her. "My name is Kurumi. I'm a first year too." She wondered if the girl wanted a cookie...she did still have a few left and, as she had discovered earlier, she could make more appear if needed.

Lukas Walked over in the direction of the sofa, wondering vaguely about it's cushioning. He also wanted to ask which way to the boys' dormitory and could see a few heads sitting there. Reaching the sofa he looked down at the occupants, one girl and a sleeping boy. He smiled at no one in particular, maybe this wasn't the best place to ask if this boy didn't seem to know where to locate a bed.

"Hi," he said softly to the girl.

Kurumi turned her violet eyes to the boy who had just made his presence known. Holy cow! There actually were more boy students here age at this school?! Until now, she had only met Adam, everyone else was older than her - which was fine, she liked having lots of big brothers to keep an eye on her. She smiled at the boy. "Hello," she replied presenting her box of homemade cookies. "I don't suppose you are still hungry after the feast?" she asked with a wink.

"Oh!" Heather squeaked. "Y-you're right....i know i put it somewhere..." she began to search all her pockets and found the letter. She was glad it wasn't a howler, then again, if it were, it would have exploded even before she had arrived at Hogwarts.

Heather then opened the letter to start reading it. It was from both her mom and dad after all. She read:


Dearest Heather,
Congratulations! you are now a Hogwarts student! (from dad: send us a letter which house you got in!) you're going to love it there just as we did (especially your father, he expects you to pull pranks, but i say no.) Say our greetings to Cassandra and we hope you have made a bunch of new friends already!

of course, we know, you might miss us too much. you get homesick after a week of being away, and we're sorry that we didn't get to accompany you to Diagon Alley when you bought your things. it must have been wonderful to see you buy your first hogwarts things. And then, we didn't get to see you off in the train. Your Father and I are really sorry, honey, but we've discussed and decided to make it up for you.

We are really glad you decided to bring Mr. Panda with you and we might have done something to him. (no, we did not enlarge him, dear. he's already big enough for you as it is, and don't worry, it's not anything serious, given the fact you'd go to great heights defending it from any charming.) If ever you get lonely, just tap Mr. Panda with your wand and say 'flubby' (i have no idea why your father chose that word). We've charmed him to do something for you, and it only works with you and your wand. (from dad: Hey honey, if you don't want Mr. Panda walking behind you around school, remember to turn the spell off again, alright? tap him with your wand and say 'hibernate'. that ought to do it. And, we know you have a knack for losing things, even big Mr. Panda here, so your mom charmed him as well to relocate himself in a place familiar to you.)

That will be all. don't forget to write to us Heather. Use the school Owls. Don't be too shy now, and don't get into trouble! We love you honey and we hope you have a good year!

Heather smiled, reading her parent's letter to her and felt calm. She loved her parents and was sad that they hadn't been by her side on her journey to hogwarts, but she was glad, they still thought of her and glad that her parents would always be with her-no matter how many miles away she was right now.

She then tore her eyes away from the letter to Mr. Panda and then to Kurumi. "my parents charmed Mr. Panda."

Lilyana laughed. She's the same year as me? She looks older than me. She thought. Oh well, her mistake. Its very nice to meet you, Kurumi. I thought you were older than me! you sure look it. I look like a baby compared to everyone else! Lilyana said smiling.So did you make those cookies yourself? She asked. Lilyana enjoyed baking, although she wasn't too good at it. Her mother always did the cooking the muggle way, seeing as she is a muggle, but her father always sped up things a bit for her. She hoped she could learn the charms like her father, it looked like fun!

Charmed...that was something magical and Kurumi couldn't take her eyes off Mr. Panda. She wondered if it would really work...She grabbed Mr. Panda, gently mind you and turned to look at Heather, her eyes ablaze. "So...you mean if we were to put Mr. Panda somewhere in the castle he would magically come back to you?!" Kurumi so desperately wanted to try this magic out, but she needed Heather's approval first.

"Really?" Kurumi asked looking down at herself.It was the first time she had heard of it, but maybe that was why she got along so well with the upperclassmen? "I baked them with my mother," she explained now pointing at each particular cookie. "The lion shaped ones have been very popular - they have lemon and cherry frosting. For some reason the mint snake ones haven't been picked very often...but I am not sure why," she smiled allowing the girl to have her pick of lion, badger, snake, or raven.

Travis smiled apologetic, "Sorry Amber, I just can't help myself sometimes," he said with a small shrug of his shoulders, "but I promise that I will not make you blush anymore for the rest of the week."

"i-i guess...it happened on the train when i lost him there...so that's why he was outside the compartment when i got back..." Heather looked at the letter once more and then took out her wand. "apparently, my mom and dad also charmed him to do something else as well, only if i tap him with my wand and say 'flubby'." she grinned. she wanted to know what Mr. Panda would do if she were to tap him and say the word now.

"you want to try it out and see kurumi?" she asked.

Lukas raised his eyebrows. Were her eyes - no, they couldn't be - purple? Then he was distracted by the cookies that had just been shoved under his nose. "Oh, um, thanks," he said, surprised by the sudden appearance of baked goods. He took one of the cookies and smiled his thanks. He took a bite out of the edge.

He swallowed and nodded appreciatively. "It was good. Thanks," he said to the girl. Then his face fell momentarily realising that he didn't know the name of who he was accepting food from. Impolite. His mother's voice sounded in his head. "So, um, what's your name?" he asked.

Kurumi's eyes grew big and more violet as her excitement manifested itself in a golden yellow color starting to grow from the tips of her hair. "YES," she practically shouted. Yep, all those years of not knowing why her hair did strange things and how her father could get to and from work so quickly (Flow Netword apparently...whatever that was), Kurumi was chomping at the bit to see magic. She looked over at Heather, who was probably a little alarmed at how...excited Kurumi was. "Please?" she begged in a sweet voice.


Kurumi was a little embarrassed that she hadn't introduced herself and blushed slightly. Shame on her! "I'm Kurumi. Kurumi Hollingberry," she smiled extended her hand. "I'm a first year." She paused for a moment to see if the boy would introduce himself next. "Would you like to sit down?" she asked pointing to an open chair.

Amber sighed, feeling her cheeks get a little hotter. "See?! I know you're not trying to Travis, you just make me blush so easily. It's like you were born to embarrass me." She grinned. "Thank you. I will be holding you to that promise all week." She felt something soft rub against her legs. She looked down. It was Brant's cat, Jinx. "Hey Jinx! Where's Brant, hmm?" She picked the cat up and placed it on her lap, stroking it's head and scratching behind it's ears as it purred loudly.

Adam finally woke up and saw Kurumi talking to a guy. Perfect this could be his first guy friend."Hey Kurumi, how you doing? Hello, you are? ...By the way I'm Adam Burn."he introduced himself, holding out his hand for the guy who was talking to Kurumi.

Yes, really. Well compared to me anyways! Lilyana laughed. She sure loved homemade cookies! I bet people are just scared of snakes! She pointed out, laughing the whole time. Theoretically and literally! But I think I'll have a lion...gotta stay with my house! She picked up the cookie, took a bite, and smiled. You're a good cook, you are! This is really good! Lilyana went back to munching on her cookie. This is great dessert for after that feast for sure! she thought.

Travis couldn't help but smile as she blushed again, he shrugged "maybe I was born to embarrass you, who knows," he said with a bemused expression, he smiled, "and I will fulfill my promise." He looked at her as she picked up a cat, he looked at her with a raised eyebrow, "Brant?"

"okay!" Heather giggled, forgetting how alarmed she was when kurumi was so excited. She took the doll, placed it on the floor, took her wand and kneeled in front of the doll.

"here goes! "she said as Kurumi watched her with sparkling eyes. She tapped the doll with her wand. "Flubby!" she said and waited. The doll sat, then tilted its head at her. Heather was surprised. Not only that, the doll moved its head around as if looking around the place. it then went back to looking at heather and suddenly, jumped to hug her. Mr. Panda has a life of its own now!

"Wow!! kurumi!! Kurumi!! Mr. Panda! He's alive!!" she said happily not minding if she was loud or not in the room once more. Mr. Panda then let go of her and ran about the chairs, passing a girl and boy seated right beside Heather and Kurumi and even passed Josh quickly. Mr. panda was about to approach a sleeping adam, attempting to touch him, but Heather caught the doll and lifted it.

"oh no! Mr. panda! don't! he's asleep! don't disturb him!" she said and then turned to Kurumi. "he's probably excited to be alive and seeing us excited at him being alive...maybe he'll clam down a bit if we calm down as well." she smiled as she hugged the doll that hugged her back.

The panda doll was now looking at Kurumi, then stretched its arms out, obviously wanting a hug. "oh look Kurumi, Mr. Panda wants a hug from you as well!"
