His nostrils flared as he stared at her. Did she just answer back without using the word 'sorry'? He didn't expect Marie to actually reply - it was further disruption in his point of view.

"Are the words 'sorry' not in your vocabulary, Marie? Five more points from Slytherin." Vindictus shook his head and looked away. He had a lesson to teach.


"Welcome to today's lesson on Broom Games," he began enthusiastically. "Broom games have been around for as long as broomsticks have been enchanted to fly. We'll start with the most popular of the broom sports - Quidditch."

Dramatic pause.

"What were the old names for Chaser and Seeker?" he asked.

Professor Vinny was super angry at Marie right now. Losing ten points in a matter of seconds! Sweet Merlin Marie was a rebel at the moment. Deciding she needed to win those points back..even though she didn't care about them, Destiny raised her hand. "The old names would be Catcher and Hunter."

Yea, he should be sorry! If she had grass stains on her clothes, she was blaming him.

She was going to blame him if she fell off her broom today too. Just because she could. And she WOULD blame him, for everything else!

Newly added members to the bad list got blamed for everything.

In an even worse mood now, and irritated that now only was she flung from a blanket but now Slytherin lost ten points, Evelyn wrapped up into a ball again (sitting upright this time) before slowly raising her hand just the slightest to answer the question. "The chasers used to be called Catchers and the seeker used to be called the Hunter."

Pfft.

Treyen's hand went up, thinking of Jake for some reason. "I believe they were Catcher and Hunter, Professor" aha, aha, nod, nod. Where was Jake, by the way?

"Well then", Emmaleigh thought, not knowing if this lesson was a blessing or a curse. She had never seen anyone play quiddich, and knew nothing about it. On the Hogwarts Express, Fee had told her that she would explain once they had gotten to school. But with the season canceled for the TWT she hadn't gotten the chance to explain it. So Emmaleigh just stood there feeling like a fool, and know her cheeks were bright red. "Maybe I can blame it on the cold," she thought.

Brittany sat on the ground quietly. She had grown up in the muggle world so she didnt know much about the game... Well not the history anyway. The recent stuff she might could answer but not that question so she just continued to sit quietly.

QUIDDITCH QUESTIONS! *internal happy dance* Lexi's hand went up in the air and she quickly answered, "Catcher and Hunter, sir." Mhm... she knew others had beaten her to the punch, but she didn't care much. Hehe.

He took MORE points from her? What was his problem?

She might have said sorry to him but not now. He'd probably take even more points and say it was because she didn't use the right tone when she said sorry. No, she would just sit there and not say anything, including answering his questions. Wouldn't want to lose even more points if she by chance answered wrong, or Merlin forbid if she forgot to raise her hand.

She noticed too how he didn't bother taking any points from that 'Claw boy who was mumbling. Yeah, if she heard it she was pretty sure Vinny heard it too. Wouldn't want him to take points from his own house though would we. At least Lafay didn't play favorites when it came to deducting points. Everyone knows she has no problem taking them from her own house.

Jenny squinted her face as she thought about the question. She wasn't really a big fan of Quidditch (in fact, she hated it; she just liked flying in general) and the foreign students who popped up all of a sudden weren't helping either...

"Were they called Catchers and Hunters, Professor?" Jenny asked. Yes, that was the only thing she can remember from what her mother told her.

"Correct! Two points to each of you for your answers," replied Vindictus.

"What was the old word for Bludgers and what did they used to be made out of before metal was used?"

Kaika would definitely know that, but he wasn't sure, really, he knew more of Quaffles and Snitches, and Snidgets. No Bludgers.

But he'd read something somewhere, "Blooders, right? Made of rocks...like, real rocks...rocks as Bludgers" mmmhmm, he said, hand still up in the air.

It was questions and answers all over again. Mwaha! She should’ve known it’d be like that. It always was in the beginning of the flying lessons.

"The bludgers were called blooders, and they were just rocks." Bewitched to fly around and chase the players. She’d rather have the rocks hit her then the iron things, but she supposed they wouldn’t change the rules back to the olden days now would they. Not over night at least. Oh hey look, foreign people. And none of those French girls.

GOOD! She didn’t like those French girls.

Emmaleigh could only assume a bludger was a ball, but she had no clue about its previous name. As for The other part of the question, she could guess at that. What was something that was super hard like metal? She raised her hand, "Er, was it made out of a rock Professor?"

Simon had watched as the others answered the first question, most having beaten him to it since it wasn't his strong suit and he hadn't felt like simply repeating their answers. At the second question, he had raised his hand to answer however. "They used to be called blooders and were enchanted rocks," he replied lowering his hand.

Oh sweet Merlin!

When did Noel get to class? And Jermaine! Destiny was too busy staring at the thing under the tarp to even notice the Beauxbaton student arrive. Oh no! If they were to fly this lesson, she'd have to fly at a normal speed..

..didn't want to Beauxbatoners to think she was scared or anything.

Back to the Professor after he asked another question, she raised her hand again. "The Bludger used to be called a Blooder and it was originally made from rock."

Lexi's hand shot up again and she smiled when she said, "They used to be called Blooders, sir." QUIDDDDDITCH. She found her self sitting up a bit straighter and paying CLOSE attention to Vindi whilst quidditch was being discussed. Hehehe.

Oh Marie knew the answer to this one but why bother saying it now? Professor Vindictive would probably just say she was copying what the other students were saying, and then take points from her.

Best to just sit there and keep her mouth shut for now.

"Nowdays we use hoops in the scoring areas, but when Quidditch began they were using trees. You had to hit the tree with the leather ball that today we call a Quaffle and it actually hurt many trees. For this reason a change was made. Who can tell me what was used for goalscoring until 1883?"

Great. More history questions She still sat quietly waiting for something she could answer

Kurumi listened carefully as every one answered the professors questions. She hadn't read up on Quidditch as much as she should have - probably should ask Adam to tutor her.

Leaning back on her hands, since her having to think about these questions were making her forget all about the chilly weather just for the time being, Evelyn stared at the purple tarp like thing for a moment before raising her hand. "They used barrels or something didn't they?" she asked more then answered before continuing. "No, wait, they used baskets...or something. Or both."

Yea, or both. Or SOMETHING. They used something! Obviously, that was the answer right there.

Simon had to think on this last question for he couldn't quite think of it right of the bat. Finally he decided to take a guess at it from what he could think of. "Weren't some sort of open-topped containers used to allow the quaffles to fall inside?" he answered questioningly.

Destiny hoped Noel was listening to how smart she was, answering all these questions. She raised her hand again, "They used to use baskets that were attached to stilts."

Pffft. She knew why they stopped using them. All those cheaters setting them on fire.

ok, so she had at least guessed that one right. But this new question was tricky. Em couldn't think of anything that was similar. She looked over at Brittany and gave a shrug. It looked like they were both pretty lost in this class.
