Heather seemed to be getting the hang of controlling her flying using the mop now and she looked around to see everyone too was able to do so-well, some. she saw some trying to fly fast and some falling off and so she decided to just move some point, slowly instead and hovered still, three feet off the ground, avoiding some who passed by above her, their dripping mops. then she saw Cass.

She waved a hand at Cass. "good luck Cass! it's really difficult, but i think you'll get the hang of it. i know you always do." she smiled supporting her best friend.

then she turned to see kurumi and was shocked.

Oh dear, kurumi was being dragged by her mop. "kurumi!" she called out. "need help?" she asked, but it seems kurumi barely heard her. Heather aimed to fly towards kurumi quickly to help her friend out, so she tried to fly as fast as she could get to kurumi-occasionally stopping so she wouldn't tip over her mop and fall off. it was difficult. the heavy end would almost tip her over at each speed she took and she had to stop so she wouldn't fall off. even thoguh her grip was strong, she knew her hands were beginning to slip.

"oh bother~!" heather said. she was impatient now and really wants to help kurumi out. fallling over now or not is not important. to heck, she kicked off and tried to fly fast towards kurumi which she did, and was suddenly at her friend's side, but she got tired from trying-it was hard work! and then her mop...began to tilt...and heather panicked, she held on to it-the mop stood like a pole and heather ridiculously looked as if she were climbing a pole. she opened her eyes that she closed, as if anticipating she was going to fall to a muddy end, but she didn't and tried her best again to bring the mop down.

"whew! that was close!" she said and looked around-oh no...kurumi was far away again, still dragged by the mop. "hang on kurumi! i'm coming!" she said and again, tried to fly as fast as she could towards the girl being dragged by a mop.

"I don't know.." Dianna said as she balanced to her left. She had a slight control of it know but is still getting used to it. "Hey Ever-Lily, I'm Dianna, second year, same house as you." she smiled. Just when she turned to her right.. Weee!!!! She fell to the grass with the mop sploshing on her face. "Blech.." she said as she stood up and mounted on her mop. Now she had no control.

"I'm okay," Ever grinned. She suddenly looked down at her robes. "Ohhh! Aguamenti." She hadn't realized she was completely covered in mud. And she was talking to an older boy. Well, now she was wet, muddy, and cold. She shivered. How cool was she?


"Heyyyy, Freya! You're doing good!" Ever called up to her new friend. She hadn't even gotten 3 feet off the ground with her slippery, soggy, damp, wet, awful, dripping, smelly...(she could go on and on.)...mop.

"Are you okay?" Ever-Lily asked worriedly. She attempted flying on her mop for the third time. She mounted it with disgust and pushed off.

"Yeah.." Dianna said. She know went a little higher and swayed to her right. There! All better.

Trying to fly higher he felt the mop not cooperating at all and he felt himself sliding down the handle. OhnoOhnoOhnoOhno. Gripping the mop tighter he laid flat to it and stared down at the ground below. He didn't remember getting that high. How was he supposed to get down exactly? Could he get down now?

He didn't understand why they had to fly these stupid things in the first place. Pulling himself back up the handle he tried to level out as best as he could and tilted it down slightly. He wanted off and he wanted off now. What he didn't expect is what happened next as the mop, with it's heavy end behind him now sped down faster and faster. He tried to pull it up to no success. The ground was approaching way too quickly and with all his strength he pulled the handle up hoping it would work this time. The mop came to a swift halt and Miles hung on to it for dear life as he stared at the ground that was only a couple of feet below him now. That was a close one. Stupid mop.

finally, after some difficulty, heather had managed to come by kurumi's side and grabbed the mop to make it stop. "finally!" she whispered to herself, with a great sigh of relief. maneuvering this mop to go fast was so difficult!

she looked at kurumi. "here you go." she handed the mop and winked at her friend. "If you want, i can help clean you up after class." she said with a smile. she was glad to help her friend. "I'm going to go ahead and see if i can do one trick my dad used to teach me...he said it was like surfing...you know, muggle surfing on water?"

she then went down about a feet from the ground and got off the mop that still hovered above the ground. "here goes!" she said and stepped-literally-on the mop's handle. she then tried to move forward which she did in a slow manner. Now heather looked like she was surfing on a mop.

"oh...oh...kurumi! I'm doing it! i'm doing it~!" she said happily, but had to admit she had difficulty with balancing. she almost fell forward and backwards but maintained balance. 'i can do this!' she thought and went forward a little faster, and hoping her mop wouldn't once again, tip over at its heavy end-or she'll be thrown off like a little rag doll and into the mud...

but...mud is okay...even though it's dirty and all...it looked so fun to be muddy. Besides, her mom isn't here to tell her on to not get muddy (or fall off and ruin a perfectly good lesson). but her dad would be surely proud of her if she got muddy.

but right now, all heather could think of was her trying to balance herself on top of the mop handle.

If there a broom equivalent of a childs rollertoaster, it was definitely the mop.


Patroclus was more than over the underperfomance he was getting from the dripping rag on a stick. Chugging along through the sky at a snails pace was really get on his nerves.

"Go faster!" he cried, pushing the mop onwards, but it seemed as the mophead slowly dried, the mop was just getting slower and slower. Whipping out his wand, Patroclus turned in his seat, and pointed his wand at the mophead, "Aguamenti!" a jet of water erupted from the wand tip, and doused the mophead.

The results were instanteous, the mop gradualy picked up speed, and at least now the wind was fast enough to ruffle the boy's hair.

"Here we go!" Pocketting his wand, Patroclus egged the mop on, and began to do 'fishies' along the pitch, weaving in and out of the other students and their mops.

It may have been faster, but the handling had had no improvement.

Trying to get the mop to go fast enough without falling off the end, Evelyn finally was able to maintain a good enough speed that was a bit faster then what Destiny flew. Speaking of Destiny, where was that girl? She’d probably be loving this right now.

Evelyn on the other hand, hated this. Immensely!

Go go go go!!! Sighing, she tried to at least go higher so she wouldn’t be smacked in the face with oncoming wet mop tails. That didn’t work out so well either! Once she pointed the broom higher, she started sliding off the end ag-

FLOP!

Back…meet ground.

Epic fail.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

This is what Evelyn and Marie get for teasing Destiny and her slow flying. Yup! Turning around on her mop, she was too busy watching Evelyn fall to the ground that she didn't notice her own mop start to tilt.

"Uh-oh."

Trying to straighten her mop out, Destiny started to slid, and soon found out that she was doomed. "Oh, hi Evelyn." she said, lying on the grass next to her friend. "You like the mop?"

Destiny sure did!

After a bit Chloe finally got the hang of riding the mop. she now knew to take it slow with steering and then she would be fine. thus now she had someconfidence riding the mop and she actually started to have fun with it. Weeee, this is great, rather interesting as well

Somewhat flying--mostly dragging-- his mop across the greens, Salander was starting to wonder if he was ever gonna get any kind of vertical mobility. He was getting the hang of moving forward, but staying well below all the other flyers had him catching a lot of their mop drippings onto himself. "This is disgusting!" he grumbled as he wiped off for the nth time random drippings hitting his face.

He reached the end of the greens just where the (now very familiar) Invisible Barrier stood. Hell bent on getting some decent altitude, he stood at the bottom of the invisible wall and looked up against the sky littered with flyers. He pressed his arm against a nearby hedge for resistance, angled his mop and kicked hard against the barrier. He sprung out against the corner like a slingshot.

Yes! We have liftoff!!!

But just as he reached a decent height, he started to lose altitude. "Awww man!" he whined as his mop, although still flying, started to glide downward. He struggled to keep himself in the air when he found himself hovering near a familiar Slytherin....


Salander stared at the young girl, spinning like a top. "Whoah there Haughtine" he called out as he grabbed the looping end of her mop and tried to steady the young girl. Instead Salander started to spin along with her, forming a strange kind of human helicopter rotor. He tried to pull his mop end to slow them both down but instead started to slip down the mop shaft. In his panic he pushed himself forward and ended up accelerating, making their spinning go even faster. Salander started to feel sick, feeling his breakfast climbing up his gullet. He let go of Haughtine's mop as he clamped his hand over his mouth.....

.... and sent him careening across the sky.

Still feeling kind of green from how the mop was acting on him, he walks back to the pitch, and mounts the mop for a fourth time. Blinking he kicks off from the ground hard, again making it a good ways up in the air as he does so, once again.

All is going well as he starts down the pitch again. Sighing with relief, he smiles. Going slow was working just fine.

That was until....he realized he was sliding down the end of the mop and the mop handle was starting to point upwards! Groaning he pushes with his hands as hard as he could, trying desperately to get it to level. His legs dangling under the tail rags as he sits on the barely, getting completely wet, well...on his bum.

"No!" he cries as he fights trying to pull himself back up on the mop again. Why he was still fighting to fly this thing was beyond him.

Laying on the ground for a moment, Evelyn kept her eyes closed, hoping that maybe if she looked dead enough, she wouldn't have to get back on the back.

Besides...landing on the ground slightly knocked out the breath in her.

Hearing another flop next to her, the Slytherin flinched, sitting up to look at whoever or whatever it was. Eh? "No." she muttered, glaring at the mop that was sitting by her feet. Stupid mop. Why did it not work properly!? So what if it had wet tail thing...that was losing water. So...it'd be flying faster the more she flew?

WOOOOT!

Pushing Destiny in the shoulder slightly so she could stand up, the Slytherin picked up the broom and held it for a moment, feeling how heavy it was. hehehe. YUSH! Mounting the broom, she smirked at her friend before kicking off. Eh, it was still a little heavy on the tail side making her hold onto the handle for dear life, but she could tell, just the slightest, that it was evening out some.

"Destiny! Get back in the air!" DO IT!

Dangling on the end of his mops rags, JD throws his entire body up and onto the mop handle as hard as he can. It seemed to have been working until...

"AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH" Flump!

Yep the mop completely flipped over he landed once again on his back and the mop went flying off away from him like a slingshot. Dazed he shakes his head, closing his eyes. He was so done, no way would anyone be able to get him back on that mop, nor talk him into flying a mop again.

He'd just lay there...yeah, good idea. Everyone else could handle their mops, he was comforta....

SMACK! the mop lands rags down right on top of his face.

Of course Evelyn didn't like the mop. That was the main purpose of Destiny asking. HA! Now Evelyn knew what it felt like to ride slow and have a weighed down..mop. Next time her friend teases her about the bubble suit, Destiny can tease her back.

Sorta.

"Fine." she mumbled, standing up and wiping any type of grass off her robes. Picking up the mop, she mounted it and headed towards Evelyn, "You know, flying a mp could come in handy! We can clean the windows with them! Or, we could fly to the Gryffindor Towers and paint the windows green!"

Where was Rae? She needed to hear this plan.

Flyyyyyy mop. FLYYYYYY like the wind!

It was still going extremely slow though...

Mentally berating the thing, Evelyn sighed when Destiny already caught up to her. Maybe she should cast the hot air charm on the tail end. She couldn't stand this slowness! She was literally feeling the frustration and annoyed feeling...just itching under her skin. Why won't this thing move faster!? GAH!

"I doubt Vinny would allow us to use the mops to get to the Gryffindor tower." she said quietly since Destiny was practically next to her anyways. "Besides, if we were going to do that then we wouldn't even need mops." Duh. "Do YOU want to fly to the Gryffindor tower on these mops?"

The ones where it was slanting at a weird angle? The ones where it'd take them two hours to get to even high enough to drop a water balloon and actually have it splash? Even Evelyn wasn't really wanting to risk it, and she was going to waterslide down moving stairs!

Vindictus was watching the students and when he saw Patroclus use magic, he frowned. At no time did he give any student permission to use magic in the lesson because wand use and flying was a highly dangerous mix, and thus not allowed.

"Put your wand away!" he shouted at the Gryffindor and made a mental note to take away points for such recklessness.

Chloe heard the professor scream at someone to put their wand away from her mop. she looked in the derection the noise had come from and saw a gryffindor boy with his wand out. what the heck, is this guy crazy. magic combined with flying, just stupid, potentially dangerous, and is certainly is gonna look bad for gryffindor, great.

Freya heard someone calling her name. She looked up and saw Ever flying not far from her. "Hey Ever. Yeah but I couldn't get this mop flied faster." she said still poking the mop. "You're doing good with the mop, Ever." she joked. Freya still trying to get the mop flied faster and then the mop flied faster. She couldn't control the mop.

"AAAAHHHHHH..!!!" she fell into the grass and the water from the mop splashed to her face. "Ewwwww..Gross..!!!" she said disgusted. "Be careful what you wish for Freya." she said to herself.

Careeeeeeening across the skies from Haughtine, Salander struggled to regain control of his mop. He was speeding so much that the skin on his face started to fold back against itself. "S-s-sslow dooownnn... " he whimpered at his mop as he held onto it tightly, still unaware that leaning forward was keep his speed consistent if not making it accelerate even further. He held onto dear life as he buzzed right by other flyers....

.... and saw Fletcher hovering dead ahead, right in his path

"Gitouttadawaaaayyyy!!!!! " he yelled. But the GlitterPuff wasnt moving, instead had this creepy sneer on his face as he stared at the Slytherin head on. What is he?..... is he pulling the game of Chicken NOW?!?!?!? he panicked as he sped even closer to the Hufflepuff Champion. Had that been the blond Durmstrang hulk, Salander wouldnt even think twice of going head to head. But he had vested interest in keeping all of Team Hogwarts alive and in one piece. At least until the Tournament is over.

He pulled on his mop sharply at the last minute, missing Fletcher by INCHES. Huzzah! But that didnt keep his soggy mop end from slapping against the GlitterPuff. Oops.

What in the world? Looking around, Evelyn tried to find who the Professor was yelling to put their wand away, but once her concentration left her broom, she started sliding off again.

EEP!

Holding on tighter, even though she was only like five feet off the ground, it still felt like the first time she was riding a broom again. Always afraid of falling off and always...falling off. It was a record though. Falling off a broom twice in one flying class! Bring on the confetti! Sighing angrily, she stared at the ground, counting each grass piece as she flew by. Meh. Probably had grass stains on her back now. "GO!" she pretty much yelled at the mop, willing the thing to move faster!

"Time to land!" Vindictus called out. "Place your mops into a neat pile to my left and you're excused. Homework will be posted shortly."

After her not very soft lading on the grass, Freya stood up and saw her uniform covered with mud and dirt. "Aw. Great." she muttered. She pulled out her wand to use the cleaning spell but she heard the Professor said the couldn't use magic, so she put back her wand. She grabbed her mop back and kicked off from the ground. She back in the air.

"Yaaaahoooooo.."

She felt the mop flied little faster this time then the first time she flied it. "Wow. should I fall first to make you faster?" she asked the broom. It didn't answer. "Talking to the mop. I'm definitely going nuts." she said to herself. She could felt the mop go faster, she hold the mop tightly hoping that she could control it. She could felt the cold air against her skin.

She stared to control the flying mop but then she heard Professor Vindictus calling them to go down, she lean back and the mop started to descend. After landing in the grass, she placed her mop to his left. "Thank you for today lesson, Professor. It was fun" she said to Professor Vindictus before leaving the pitch. 'It was fun isn't it?Flying with the mop?Yeah it was fun but little bit weird too' she thought.

Pulling sharply to avoid the GlitterPuff sent Salander corkscrewing out of control. Oh man... oh man!..... he panicked as he could feel his breakfast rearing up again. With great effort he tried to pull himself up against the mop shaft. It had stopped the spinning, but he found himself flying upside down and still at considerable speed.

Hanging onto the shaft prompted the mop to fly downward, miraculously missing flyers as Salander zoomed towards the greens.....

..... and buzzed the Tower. Or rather the Flying Professor.

He had never been more thankful in hearing that whistle in his whole life. "Down! Down! Down!" he growled at his mop. And it complied. With Salander still hanging on its underside.

The mop touched down, dragging the Slytherin a good distance on his back. It ground to a halt and Salander finally let it go. He lay sprawled on the grass, deciding to wait till ALL students left before putting the wretched mop away. Which is probably a good thing, because his entire back will show off the largest green skidmark ever to grace a young man.

Chloe quickly but carefully landed her mop at the sound of the whistle. she almost thought for a breif moment in her landing she may fall of f her broom but thankfully that did not happen. once on the ground she was happy to hear that class was over. She really did not want anymore flying with strange objects. with that thought in mind she put her mop in the area specified and quickly left the pitch.
