Adeline was walking down to her common room with her head in the clouds. She started running her fingers through her bone straight hair, her new bangs clipped up. Totally a hair mistake! She was thinking about the summer coming up. Weeewwwt! Dance compititons!!!!! Sadly she couldn't do the winter compititions though. She kept walking and walking but...

BOOOMM!!!!!!


When she thought she had a clear path, she walked right into the wall, her head smashing onto the stones. She felt her forehead and sighed. Ohhh nooo! She had a huuuuggggeee huuuuuugggggeeeee HUUUGGGEE! goose egg on her head. Wow. Along with the zit on her cheek she was going to look like a complete weirdo.

Adam saw that Addy had fallen down or something close to that.Adam ran over to her side and grabbed her elbow. "You alright- if you can't notice a wall in front of you- then I think it's time for someone to get glasses."He teased her.

Adeline gave him an evil but playful smile. "I already have them dofus" she said, wiggling her arm away from him."She rubbed her head and said. "How are you doing" she asked him. She knew her head was bruised but the pain was nothing. She got hit harder. Waaaaayyyy harrdddeerr.

"Oh, I didn't know...But I'm doing fine...How are you that's more important to me- you're more important to me-after that day I had acted like a Snake and not a Lion to you at the armor place...Sorry about that..."He shyly stared at his shoes.

Adeline shook him. Snort. SnortSnortSnort. He was feeling preetyy guiltey huh? Well that was weird. She looked into his eyes then shook her head and giggled. "Adam. I'm totally fine." she said.

Why couldn't people forget about it?!??!?!?

Ok. She was feeling pretty flattered. I mean that was cuutttee. ShakeShakeShake. Thinking people your age are cute isn't cool. What if he could read her mind. 0_o. That would be pretty creepy. Anyways."Adam. Just forget it. I really dont care about what happened that day. I really don't you know." she said.

"Ok- so what's been going on with you...Need any help because I haven't talked to you in ages..."He said, elongating the ages so that it sounded like a longer word.

"Whadda ya mean? I'm fine" she said giving a weak giggle. She was feeling pretty bad lately. But she wasn't telling anyone no matter what happend.

"I just mean if anything cool or interesting happened to you , while I was busy- I'm not asking you about anything private- just normal stuff..."He was trying to be nice, but could feel his head throbbing, he had to contain himself now.

"Not really" she said, looking to the side, trying not to look at him. "Oh, thank god" she said sighing. That would be a bit weird. I mean, why did she need to discuse stuff with him. She was only feeling a bit home sick. "I''m just a bit homesick." she said sighing. Then quickly covering up with a giggle. "But I really am doing fine. I really am" she said laughing.

So.... this is... the dungeon level. Jimmy hadn't exactly spent much time down this way. At least, not at this end of the corridor. Been down the potions way but since he'd not managed to get himself a detention yet, why would he have had to go this way? Apparently the Slytherin Common room was down here? And... wasn't this under the lake?

James looked up, considering the ceiling and wondering about all the things he'd read about that had happened down here. Recent actually, flooding and all? Well. No signs of it now. He leaned casually against a bare patch of wall and loosened his tie. Untucked shirt, with sleeves rolled up he wasn't sure where he'd left his sweater, and his common room was too far away to get his robes so it was a good thing it wasn't too chilly. The weather was warming up even if this particular corridor didn't show much sign of spring heading their way. Too cold for Rufus at the moment though. Right now the little Marmoset was safely tucked away in his dorm. Big cage more to protect Rufus from people than the other way around.

So.... where was this common room then?

Marie had been cooped up in the common room for hours trying to get that stinking divination homework done. Why did most of the professors feel the need to assign homework that required drawing? She hated drawing which meant she procrastinated a lot in getting her homework done. Oh well, she always seemed to get it done just in time to turn it in.

Deciding she needed to get out of the dungeon and get some fresh air she put her books away and left the common room. Wearing jeans and her favorite green shirt she stepped out of the entrance that was covered by the huge portrait and immediately spotted a familiar face not too far away. Quickly closing the portrait door she went over to him. "Hey, what brings you all the way down here?" she asked smiling at him. Not many people ventured down to the dungeons unless they had a reason.

Hmm, did he have a reason?

Well. James did consider lying and saying 'looking for you' but since he wasn't in the business of stalking Slytherin girls he decided to opt for the truth.

"Just exploring. Sort of. Got nosy I guess, and since I've managed to avoid a detention so far this term, thought I'd come down this way and check it out." He pushed off the wall, standing up straighter and did the obligatory boy thing. Thats right, the eye sweep. Head to toe to head again. Jimmy grinned. "But you know, what a bonus running into you. Lost your hat I see?"

Marie couldn't help but smile at him. "Exploring huh. Find anything exciting down here yet?" Managed to avoid a detention? "Been doing things that are detention worthy have you?" she asked.

She didn't miss him performing his little scan of her. Heck she did one of her own. "Yeah, it's your lucky day getting to see me." Or was it her lucky day getting to see him? "Um yeah, no need for the hat now. I see you found a shirt."

"Only the one thing." Cue pointed look. Jimmy grinned and shrugged one shoulder. "Of course I haven't. Look at this mug. Do I look like a troublemaker to you?" He put on his best innocent look and slouched against the wall again. Leaning skills, he had them. The thing about leaning was, theres a secret to it, it requires skill to show your best angles and still maintain that casual nonchalance that James S. Wilkes had down.

He'd certainly had worse luck before, so Jimmy wasn't arguing. He shrugged one shoulder. "Easy enough to lose the shirt again." He pointed out. "Though..." James glanced down at himself. "I kinda like this one." It fit nice. Was comfortable. Long enough in the sleeve when he actually had the sleeves rolled down instead of up leaving his forearms bare. And it was long enough to tuck in if he so happened to be inclined. Which he was not. In other words, it was a newer shirt that covered his recent growth spurt. "You look better without the hat." Observant Jimmy was observant.

"So where are you off to this fine day?" Pshhhaw. Who knew if it was fine? James hadn't been outside yet even though he did like to go for a run to burn off all the excess energy he tended to have in the mornings. He just felt lazy at this particular moment. Hence the wall. And the leaning.

Grin.

"One thing huh. And just what would that one thing be?" She asked in an innocent sort of way. She was pretty sure she knew what he was referring to but she wanted to hear him say it. Looking at him she had to laugh when he asked her if he looked like a troublemaker. "Well, now that you mention it. I could picture you causing trouble of some sort." Seeing him there leaning against the wall trying to look all innocent she pictured him trying to convince a professor that he didn't do it... whatever it may have been.

Raising an eyebrow she looked from his face to his shirt and back to his face. "Do you lose your shirt often?" she asked then looked back at the shirt. Yeah he did look good in it then again he looked good out of it too. "Thanks, I feel better without the hat too." It had taken forever to get that stink out of her hair but she finally managed it. Now her hair smelled like lilacs on a nice spring day.

Where was she off to? That was a good question, one she didn't have an answer for though. "No place in particular. I just needed to get away from doing homework so decided to go for a walk. What about you? Where are you off to after you get done exploring down here?"

"This big.... blank.... expanse.... of stone wall..." James gestured at the wall and then grinned. Cocky thing. "You, naturally." He corrected himself after a long enough pause. She knew. She so knew. "Oh yeah? What sort?" Heh. Maybe she'd give him ideas.

"It happens. You know, when you're hot or dirty." Perfectly straight face here.He looked at her hair. Definitely looked like she'd spent a few hours fixing it so there was no sign of the mess from the Defense lesson. He'd done much the same of course. Borrowed some apple scented shampoo from one of his dormmates and that had done the trick.

"What about me? Well, what do you know! I was thinking of going and not doing homework and not studying for my OWLs myself." because he didn't need to study because he didn't care about grades.

What a coinkydink.

"Yeah, we do have some pretty exciting walls down here." You know unlike the rest of the castle. Yeah, she could be sassy sometimes too. "Oh right, I am pretty exciting." she said. She knew that's what he meant but she still liked hearing it. "Oh you know, the kind of things that professors wouldn't approve of. Although I'm sure it would be nothing as bad as what I've gotten away with." Like her punching spree last term. Oh yeah, lots of broken noses and not one detention.

"Um no I don 't know. I tend to keep my shirt on even when I'm hot." she said grinning at him. "I guess we won't have to worry about you getting too hot today though, you know since it's still kinda cold outside." He may not have to worry about getting hot from the heat but whoa, he did look rather haaaaaawt standing there.

"Well then, would you like to not do homework and not study with me?" Who knows, maybe they would find something exciting to do together.

"Mmm. Well I guess they've had to put up with more drama." He grinned about it, rolling with her comment. "I read something about flooding a few years back. That was down here wasn't it?" Impressive walls. Hah. Hah. He settled against the wall in question more comfortably. "Yeah so I found out in Defense class." James agreed. Exciting. He supposed that a giant food fight was a kind of exciting. Not his favourite kind but still.

"Well. You're pretty hot right now, so here I am, disappointed to hear that." James teased, complete with a wink and grin combo. That green shirt sure looked cute on her. "I'm sure I can handle it." True. He had no intentions of going out into the cold if he could help it. Not if it meant going all the way back to his dorm up in the towers just to get cold weather gear.

"You know, that sounds like a perfect solution? I mean, I wouldn't be able to study anything around you anyway, so its almost like you'd be doing me a favour in my mission to, you know, not get any work done."

And Cammy would be all disapproving that he was once again and despite his protests, spending time with a pretty blonde.

"Yeah, I heard about the flooding too. It happened the year before I started here." She was glad she wasn't here then. "Um yeah, Defense class was pretty exciting." Not to mention disgusting and stinky too.

Marie felt her cheeks get warm when he said she was hot and that he was disappointed, and then he winked at her. "Thanks. Sorry to disappoint you though." She said once she finally found her voice again. Yeah, the shirt would be staying on but if he was lucky he would see her in her swimsuit once it was warm enough to go swimming. "I'm sure you could handle it but you know, I might be willing to help warm you up if you got too cold." She did recall him saying something about hugging again. What better excuse to hug him than to warm him up.

"Oh sure you'd be able to study with me around." Even if he wasn't studying his school work she had a feeling he would be studying something. "So, what would you like to do? You know while we're not getting any work done."

"So you're... fourth year now?" James asked, after a quick count. That was alright. She actually looked older than that. Hehe.

"Its alright, its good to get used to disappointment right? That way you're pleasantly surprised when awesome stuff does happen." He grinned crookedly. Yeah he was hoping for pleasant future surprises. Just a little. "I'll keep that in mind." He answered. Yeah he would. Warming him up? Sharing body heat yeah? Heh. Well, she did owe him a hug. The kind that was goo free.

"Not school work, but other lessons I'm sure." James responded immediately. Hehe. "Hmmm well if it were warmer out, I'd say we could take a walk around the grounds. Anywhere in particular you like to hang out?"

"Yeah, I'm a fourth year." Marie said, which lead her to realize she didn't know what year he was. "What about you?"

"Yeah sure, disappointment is good... makes for pleasant surprises." She said not fully convinced of that herself. For the past several months her life had been one big disappointment after another. She fully expected to be disappointed by the end of this conversation that's how used to disappointment she was this term. A small smile did cross her face when he said he would keep her offer in mind. Now hopefully she would be around the next time he got cold.

"Not school work? What else exactly do you 'Claw students like to study?" She knew what she wanted to study but there was no point in telling him now. Why set herself up for more disappointment... like now. Right, too cold out to walk around the grounds. Even though she did offer to help warm him up if he got cold. *Cue disappointment* "Not really. I've spent most of the term in my dorm room when I'm not in classes." Well there and the secret passage. She didn't think he would want to hang out in a semi-dark, deserted passage with her though.

"5th." James supplied. Hence the whole OWL thing. He shrugged one shoulder and gave Marie a smile.

"No really. And don't go thinking I'm the negative type either. I get plenty of good surprises simply because I don't expect anything and don't let myself get knocked down when something disappointing does happen." Jimmy informed her. Yeahhh he wasn't quite glass half full. Not an optimist, but a realist, he liked to think.

"Don't ask me, I ain't much of a 'claw. Hat made a mistake, pretty sure." He told her, even while he did some studying right then and there. Would there be a test later? Heehee. "Hmmm well, I guess we could find somewhere kinda sheltered outside, if you did wanna go out that way." Sheltered and private, for more studying talking. "We can chat more and maybe get to know each other a little better." He suggested.

Yeah, Marie felt a little stupid right now. "Oh right. You did mention OWLS earlier. Sorry, I was a bit distracted then." 'By thinking of ways to help you not study.'

"I don't think you're negative at all." she said. "Well the only good surprise I've gotten in the past six months is walking out of the common room and seeing you standing here." Yeah, all the other surprises had pretty much been bad news. Surprise, your boyfriend is snogging your best friend. Surprise, your boyfriend doesn't want to be around you anymore. Surprise, everyone in Charms class now knows what you did thanks to that stupid boggart.

"The hat made a mistake? So what house do you think you should be in?" 'Please don't say Hufflepuff.' "We can stay inside. You don't have to go outside just for me. There are plenty of places in this huge castle we can hide in go to not study talk." Hmm, where could they go? Aha, she knew the perfect place. "We could always go to the Room of Requirement. We could study each other talk and not be bothered by anyone."

"Its alright." Jimmy shrugged, smiling crookedly. "I'm a little distracted now, so we're even." Marie seemed... well nice wasn't necessarily the right word, but James liked her well enough. Interesting was the best way of putting it, he supposed. Fascinating even.

"Really?" He asked, voice growing softer. "Well, I'm sure I can improve on this." he gestured around, meaning her coming across him here. She sounded like she meant it, and he liked the idea of making Marie smile instead of just... you know, look mad and cringe away like during the whole food fight thing.

"Gryffindor. Obviously." Obviously. He was brave and RAWR and everything. He grinned at her crookedly. "Room of Requirement? Yeah? I read about it, I haven't been there yet. Sounds kinda awesome. I'd like to see it with you" And see what kind of place it became at her request.

Marie couldn't stop smiling now. There was something about this boy that made her feel happy. Happier than she had felt in months. Well she felt happy when she was with Dylan, but this, this was different. Now she felt happy and excited at the same time.

"Yes, really." she said noticing the change in his voice. "Improve on this? Why what do you mean?" she asked with that innocent little look of hers again.

"Oh, Gryffindor is good." she said raising her eyebrows at him. She did have a thing for Gryffindor boys, well one Gryffindor boy... No wait, she did NOT have s thing for a certain Gryffindor boy anymore. She was moving on now. "So should I call you a Ravendor, or a Gryffinclaw?" she asked teasingly. Really, he wanted to see the Room of Requirement with her. "The Room of Requirement is awesome. It transforms into whatever you need it to. It is designed to fit your needs." What exactly were her needs for this room? To be a quiet place where there would be no interruptions fro anyone.
