Nolan was seated on top of his desk as usual, although he looked much happier than last lesson. He wasn't wearing his glasses today and had instead opted for contacts, but he made up for his lack of style by wearing a stylish checkered cardigan. Yeah. He looked awesome.
Whistling merrily to himself, he drummed his fingertips on the top of his desk as he waited for the students to arrive.
"Good answers!" Nolan said with a smile. Despite Peeves buzzing around like an annoying mosquito, he was still going to try and continue the lesson. "They're much more closely related to the playing cards many of us are familar with, since they have four suits of 13 cards each. Can anyone give the meanings of some of these cards? Anyone will do, just pick one from your textbook," he explained.
Brittany raised her hand yet again. The chaos was wrapping up so there was no sense in not moving on with class "well The Ten of Swords is the most grim card in the deck, more destructive and reminiscent of death than the Death card itself." Brittany said hoping that what the professor was asking for.

Frowning as one managed to fall before his spell went into effect, Simon let out a sigh of relief when the next one was safe thanks to him. As Professor Reynolds cast the immobulus spell to take care of the rest, he dropped his wand back to his desk.
No sense on helping put them back for many of the students including Viky who was beside him were already doing their best to do so. Instead he focused on watching her handle things, making sure his fellow 5th year didn;t hurt herself on the glass fragments as they moved over to the professor's desk.
"The page of wands or the jack of clubs is thought to represent the need to rediscover joy and playfulness," Lila said. She was getting quite annoyed by Peeves. He made it difficult for her to concentrate.

"Thank you," Nolan said with a smile, finally dropping the spell since the students were putting the orbs away. YAYYY! Minimal damage had been done. "It's really alright, I've got a number of pairs lying around my office," he said with a chuckle.
Yes, the glasses he wasn't too broken up about. But the ORBS...oh the orbs. Sniffle.

Next Hogsmeade trip, she was getting a camera. And bringing it EVERYWHERE.
GLARE.
Nolan first glared at the Ravenclaw, and then, he blushed, cause he was sure he really did look ridiculous when he had been freaking out over the orbs. His collection was priceless! Of course he had been worried!
Lesson learned. Those orbs were going IN his Gringotts vault ASAP.

But this was too annoying. That creature was making it impossible to sleep and if any of those crystal balls shoudl hit someone (especially Evelyn) the poltergesit was going to pay for that. Ooooor he was going to pay for that right now!

She'd never be able to fix glass that shattered, if it had been her glasses. But they wreen't, and she was sure the Proffessor was a much better spell caster than her. He was a Proffessor, after all.
And he was obviously a good spell caster, because he'd stopped those Crystal Balls! A few had fallen onto the floor and shattered, though. She hurried over to the shelf as he gave the instructions, bending to pick up one hovering just above the floor. That was close! She set it on a little stand thing, and bent down to pick up another. The she realised, there were going to be lots of people doing that, so stepped back a little. She was going to clean up all the glass. 'Accio broken Crystal Balls!' she called, and one or two with little cracks came zooming towards her, as well as a whole load of glass.
She put the more-or-less intact ones on her desk for the time being - there was only one, actually - and then focused on the glass shards. She directed them to Proffesor Reynolds' desk, figuring he could fix them with magic. Or maybe superglue, who knows?
Nolan smiled as the orbs were cleaned up promptly with the help of the students. "Thank you very much, students! I'll attempt to repair the orbs later, although I'm not sure how successful I'll be," he said, his voice trailing off. SNIFFLE. Two orbs lost, how sad!

As the students answered his original question, he kept his ears peeled, listening for their answers AND for Peeves. But it seemed...he was gone? HE WAS GONE! "I think he's gone!" he exclaimed in a whisper.
Wait, why was he whispering? Peeves didn't scare him! "I think he's gone!" he announced to the rest of the class.
GOOD! They could continue with the class, except time was now a bit of an issue...blehhh. "Good answers! Please, continue to list the specific cards of the Minor Arcana and their meanings!" he said, waving his wand to clean up the excess debris from the little ruckus Peeves had caused.

Brittany Beamed at the fact that she had answered the question right. She was on a roll this class. Another answer wouldnt hurt. "well professor the five of cups card often carries the meaning of emotional dejection, disappointment and sorrow over past events. Like the little man thingy ma bob has five cups but three of them are knocked over but two are still standing. And although he should be greatful that he has two left he cant seem to get passed that he doesnt have those other three as well." she said with a shrug. She actually thought it was quite silly.

With the majority of things back to normal, Simon was glad that they could go back to the lesson at hand. No more Peeves to deal with for now. Searching in the text book for the various meanings of the deck, the Gryffindor boy settled on one in particular to supply to answer the professor. " The ten of cups like all cup cards deals with water but specifically harmony and stability," he replied.

Hehehe, for once, Evelyn didn't do anything to prevent the disaster that was going to take place. Her mind kept telling her to do something, but her hand did not move towards her wand. It was still doodling on her paper as she lazily looked around to everyone casting spells everywhere.
Wasn't divination supposed to have some peaceful and tranquil atmosphere?
She could barely hear her own thoughts with all this debating and noise around!

Or was he going after Peeves?
"I think Peeves is gone Josh." she muttered, sighing and placing her quill on the table while reaching out to his hand, tugging on it slightly. "Sit back down." Before he got into trouble, and so she could be comfortable again. His warmth disappeared when he stood up.

Frowning, Evelyn moved her attention back to the professor, thinking over the minor arcana cards. Actually, she couldn't remember all of them.
Surprised, she sat back in her seat, staring at the people picking up the orbs and placing them back on the rack as she tried to think of any cards and their meanings. Well, she knew the cards, just not most of their meanings. Hmm, she did remember one actually. "The ace of wands..." she started, picking up her quill and fiddling with it. "...often means confidence and things related to that such as authority, success, and will power. It's a very...strong card so to speak."
Hmm yes, she liked that card. Probably why she remembered it.
Somewhere during the class, Mia had zoned out a little. How it was possible with the poltergeist in the class she didn't know. But she managed to catch what Professor Reynolds had said and she raised her hand in the air. "There is the six of Pentacles. they key meanings for this card is giving, sharing, balance, abundance and sound judgement."

Reason: eh sorry should have read the question properly
Vilhelmiina raised her hand. "Well, the 2 of Pentacles, it is an earth card, which draws people to a grounding effect, and matters of a physical matter. The two of the card means balance and flexibility, and a lemniscate is also seen in the card, holding the two Pentacles together. Water is also in the card. All of those symbols together is a message of combination and unification on an energetic level. Usually in a reading, it means that you should find a balance, you should go above and beyond to reach your goals, take into consideration the infinate number of energy channels that connect to your well being, while dedicating yourself to a mission while trusting and letting your higher purpose show you the way."

"There is a seven of cups, " Daisy said raising her hand." The meaning behind it is wishful thinking because they are floating on a cloud which relcts thier impractical nature."

Peeves. Well at least it was an interesting lesson. Cameron stared down at her notes:

"So.. you can have like the Paige of Cups and he symbolises the beginning of creativity or the start of a new project or creative venture. It may also signify the beginning of a new relationship or the dawning of a new perspective on a difficult situation." For exaaaaaaaaample.

Gone already?
The boy looked around quizzically his wand still pointed at nowhere. Yes apparently Evelyn was right. The poltergeist was gone. So, the Gryffindor boy placed his wand back in its holster and smiling at the Slytherin girl as he felt her touch on his hand, he sat down back.
Nooow...
What was the rest of the class doing? Josh had no idea since he had been sleeping during the instructions however Evelyn's next words helped him to figure out what they were doing. Okay. So they were talking about the meanings of the cards.
That was fine.
Of course except the fact that he did not know anything about those cards or their meanings. Hehehehe.

It was fun seeing Peeves cause havoc for the first time ever, but Jenny really did sorry for the Professor; he didn't really look happy that some of his orbs were broken. No, not happy was an undestatement; he was highly disappointed.
Sadly, Jenny didn't know anything about the Minor Arcana or any of the cards in there. She wasn't even a card person in the first place! Best thing she could do now is to take notes.
Arcana Major, Minor? I thought this was Diviniations, not Music Patroclus smiled to himself, before rasing his hand, "Sir there is the ACE of Swords," he nodded, "This card is a rather personal card, as it deals with one's inner self. It represnents focus, alignment, clarity, Intensity....plus it has a sword on it, that's pretty cool."
Patroclus had paid no attention to Peeves, well excpet for when the crystal ball's had rained from the sky, but other than that, Patroclus was not in the mood.
"It's not who you are that holds you back, it's who you think you are not."

He floated away to the far corner of the ceiling, bouncing around and giving off a rather odd picture of glasses bobbing in midair.

OH this was just so much fun, watching the professor get angry! And bad choice of words, poor professor, BAD BAD BAD choice of words. GIGGLE! This was going to be SO FUNNY!
"Of course, Professor Four Eyes!" he said, saluting the professor and taking the glasses off. He dangled them out in the middle of the air...come on, THEY HAD TO SEE THIS COMING...and simply DROPPED the glasses from the ceiling. CACKLE!
"WHOOPSIE! Bad Peeves! Butterfingers!!!!" he chuckled, watching the glasses land with a CRACK on the ground, giggling in delight as the lenses completely shattered.
Breaking things was FUN. WHAT ELSE COULD HE BREAK??? OOOOOH, those pretty crystal orbs stacked up along the windows were perfect.
He flew over to the window and, going INVISIBLE yet again, he simply TIPPED the first ball in the rack so that it knocked into the next one, creating a bit of a chain effect. HEHEHE!
As much as he'd like to stay and watch them try and stop the inevitable fall of the crystal balls, he remembered that the professor WOULD probably go get the Baron for REALZ after this when all the crystal orbs were KAPUTT...best not be around for that. Besides, there were a number of lovely baby Venomous Tentacula that he spotted this morning that just HAD to be unplanted in the greenhouses. HEHE.
With that, he stayed invisible and he was off to cause more chaos elsewhere.
Alice watched with an open mouth as Peeves floated around the room, going invisible so that just Professor Reynolds' glasses were visible. Who knew that he could be so annoying? Alice was about to point to Professor Reynolds about his glasses situation, but the gesture was too late, Peeves having dropped them just as she pointed, and a loud crunch filling the room.
Poor Professor Reynolds...

He hoped for just a TINY second that they were back on track when...GIGGLING ensued. "Wait, what?" the professor asked in confusion. Why were they laughing at him?
It was PEEVES again wasn't it???!
Turning around quickly to see if the joker had written something else on his board, he completely missed the poltergeist as he flew up into the air. Ok, WHAT did he do to this board?? That HAD to be the reason they were all giggling. He messed it up somehow...but WHERE? All the notes still looked the same to him!
He was completely oblivious to his black framed glasses bobbing around near the ceiling.

Whaaa? Wrinkling his dark brows and looking up toward the ceiling, he saw...his glasses? Floating in midair? Fantastic.
"Oh for the love of Merlin!" Nolan exclaimed, running a hand through his hair in a huff. "Peeves! Put them down this instant or I'll REALLY go get the Baron!" he said.

Divination was not Eli's strong suit. At. All. It was a flouncy subject in his opinion, stuff and nonsense and not grounded in solid objective fact. He wanted to like it, but it just ... it wasn't logical, by Merlin! A card could tell you the future?
Because of this, as per his usual, he took the opportunity to engage in a little light napping at the back of the class. He had learned a charm that made it appear his eyes were open even when they were shut and so it was off to dreamland for Eli.
Zzzzzzzzzz...
He awoke with a start at the sound of a familiar female voice. "Pentacles!" he shouted out, not really certain why; perhaps he had caught the word subconsciously during his nap.

Minor Arcana. What was that? Preston shrugged his shoulders and turned the pages in his book, hoping maybe that would clear some things up. "Th-th-there's some-something a-a-about w-w-wands a-a-and b-b-batons." He spoke aloud, forgetting to raise his hand.

And although he should be greatful that he has two left he cant seem to get passed that he doesnt have those other three as well." she said with a shrug. She actually thought it was quite silly.

Wasn't divination supposed to have some peaceful and tranquil atmosphere?
She could barely hear her own thoughts with all this debating and noise around!
Hmm, and it seemed Josh wanted to help in the action as well, though he was not pointing at the crystal balls. Whaaat was he doing? Was there a fly in the room or something that he wanted to catch?
Or was he going after Peeves?
"I think Peeves is gone Josh." she muttered, sighing and placing her quill on the table while reaching out to his hand, tugging on it slightly. "Sit back down." Before he got into trouble, and so she could be comfortable again. His warmth disappeared when he stood up.
Now it was all cold!

"The cards have the Ace, number 2 - 10, the page, maid, knight, queen and king within all sets." Cameron fumbled with her note paper and frowned. "So.. you can have like the Paige of Cups and he symbolises the beginning of creativity or the start of a new project or creative venture. It may also signify the beginning of a new relationship or the dawning of a new perspective on a difficult situation." For exaaaaaaaaample.

It represnents focus, alignment, clarity, Intensity....plus it has a sword on it, that's pretty cool."
Patroclus had paid no attention to Peeves, well excpet for when the crystal ball's had rained from the sky, but other than that, Patroclus was not in the mood.

Poor Professor Reynolds...
SPOILER!!: professor reynolds
Alice watched Professor Reynolds clean up the mess and attempt to get the class to focus again. She shifted her focus back to the cards and trying to figure out what each of them meant. "Doesn't Ace of Pentacles mean reward, safety, grounded, or a new start?" Alice hoped she wasn't repeating what someone else had already said, but she had been so distracted by Peeves it may have been possible she missed someone saying it.

She raised her hand. Again. Fee really liked Divination, it was one of her fave subjects.
"Well, there is a card thats called"the fool" it represents naivety and childlike innocence but yet wisdom."
"Good answers," Nolan smiled at the students. "The Minor Arcana is a fascinating deck, because each card as multiple means--it has a meaning for the suit, for the number, etc." he explained. "The number of possible outcomes you can derive from reading them is nearly endless!"

GLARE.
Nolan would have probably continued to overlook the boy sleeping, which would have been super lucky for the boy--with his little outburst however, he caught his attention.
"I'm sorry that I'm not able to hold your attention," Nolan told the boy with a sigh. "1 point from Ravenclaw for napping during class. I suggest you rest up tonight so you don't do it in your next classes as well," he explained.
He checked his watch and...EEEP! Peeves had taken up so much time! Sigh. "Alright class, I'm afraid due to our little...visitor, time has run short on us today. The project I had in mind for our practical portion of this lesson will now be your homework, but I'm sure a number of you will still enjoy it," he explained with a smile. They should be happy about that. His original plan for this homework assignment had been an ESSAY.
"Now, before I dismiss you, please write me a small paragraph--actually, a paragraph is stretching it, perhaps just a sentence or two--explaining which deck you'd choose to use on a daily basis and why. For example, my favorite deck is the Celestial deck, because it mixes astrology with tarot card reading to give more unique results, and it's got pretty designs on each of the cards," he added. True story. They were so fun to look at! "You can find a list in your text, and since there's nearly 1000 different decks in there, I'm sure you can all find something, even if you're not a true believer in the tarot cards," he added with a chuckle.
"Homework will be posted later this afternoon on the bulletin boards. So, write your paragraph, hand it in and you're free to leave!" he said with a smile.

Alice sighed. Evil peeves taking up most of the class time of one of her favorite classes this term. Just evil. Taking out a fresh piece of parchment, Alice began to write the assignment.
SPOILER!!: Alice's assignment
Alice Page
First Year Gryffindor
If I had to choose a deck to use on a daily basis I would use the All Hallow's tarot card deck, because they all have pictures dealing with Halloween (which is one of my favorite holidays) and they combine a somewhat spooky or supernatural feel to your daily readings. However I am greatly looking forward to the Alice Tarot Card deck, which deals with the story of Alice in Wonderland. I have noticed from my dream diary that my dreams have a very similar feel to Alice's adventure.
Once Alice was done she took the parchment up to Professor Reynolds and handed it to him. "Sorry that it's a little longer than two sentences. Have a good day Professor!"
