Professor Reynolds was sitting on the edge of his desk, waiting for the students to file in once he opened his class. Today however he looked a bit more exhausted than usual...his glasses had slid down the bridge of his nose and he'd made no effort to fix them, and he hadn't bothered to button up his navy sweater vest today either. Still, as the first students began to arrive, he made an effort to smile for them as they entered the room.
"Hello class...please take a seat, and we'll begin today's lesson shortly," he announced. "Keep chatter to a minimum, please!"
OOC: Class will begin in 1-2ish hours or so. Nolan IS in the room so please keep the chitter chatter down! Thank youuuu!
Hmm. Well, Enya wasn't as lazy as Louisa thought she would've been. She just gets bored easily which's close to lazyness. "Good explanation. Let's see if it's enough though." Louisa really liked her dream, well she didn't before but now she truly liked it. It has leadership in it which was her ambition after all.
Louisa raised her hand, "We're done Professor." She called out smiling widely. And then as Enya spoke, her head snapped towards Enya, "No! No troubles! You're out of detention few days ago!" She said eyeing her up and down in disbelief. "Besides, you'll make us lose more points and that is selfish." She shot.
"We can talk though. We don't need to make troubles to have fun." The little girl said smiling at her.
No fun? But that was just NOT fun at all. Sigh. Enya put her head in her hands and well did nothing. how was talking fun!? It was not! And Louisa telling her what to do really wasn't fun anymore. She felt she needed to tell the girl that. Soon! Enya turned towards Louisa to say it, but she didn't. Louisa had spoken first.
"Detention's fun Louisa. And i couldn't care less about house points" She told the girl folding her arms. True. Sticking by rules bored her, and was no fun. While she sat their talking she concluded she was going to go show Carin her dream - even if it was at the end of the lesson.
But talk? Bah. Boring. But what else could she do? There was nothing to do! Lesson's were boring. Sigh. "Fine.." She huffed. "What do you want to talk about?" She asked her best friend.

Beware.
"I would like to share my dream", fee said as she raised her hand.
" I had a picnic with my best friends at home. It was summer and we all were enjoying the food, i ate grapes, as suddenly some creature came out of nowhere and took my friends with it as hostage. I wanted to help them but i couldnt move."
Fee shudderd as she remembered her dream. It was terrible.
"Hi, i'm Amy wanna be be partners?" she said to the girl
She quickly turned Hey! Oh,sure, i want to be your partner. Great! And my name is Jacqueline nice to meet you.''she was so excited and shook girl's hand.
"I would like to share my dream", fee said as she raised her hand.

Fee shudderd as she remembered her dream. It was terrible.
Cass had noticed that Fee just announced her dream to the class, so instead if begging someone to be her partner, she decided to copy her friend's example. she raised her hand and said "I would like to share my dream too." She took the parchment that she had written on earlier and read from it.

I was standing at a plain. The horizon stretched out until forever and no trees or mountains stood at the side. "What was going on?" I heard my self say. I reached for my wand tucked inside my sleeve inside my silver, leather holster. I sighed in relief when I felt the wooden object was still there. Then I looked down on the ground and noticed a broom. I held out my hand to it and said in a firm voice "UP." The broom flew up to my hand and I grasped it tightly. Then I mounted it and kicked off the ground hard. I was flying! I looked down and saw a peculiar sight at the ground. Everyone I knew was huddled before a black, stone tomb. "Who died?" I asked myself. I tried to check it out, but I couldn't see. All I could see were a lot of blonde heads, probably my family and some of my friends, and a whole lot of green and black robes. I lowered the broom to the site and was horrified. The person on the tomb was me. My small, pale body was on an emerald green sheet. my long blonde hair was swept to the side. "I'm not dead! I'm over here!!" I called out to everyone. but they just ignored me, as if they couldn't hear me. Then I looked at the grave again and saw the my owm aquamarine eyes were open. Then the dead me smiled up at me and said "Join me Cass." I stared at her horrified "No! I'm not dead!!" The pale hand reached for me and I felt the darkness close over me. Then I woke up.
She quickly turned Hey! Oh,sure, i want to be your partner. Great! And my name is Jacqueline nice to meet you.''she was so excited and shook girl's hand.
"nice to meet you too" she took a seat "so do you wanna start with your dream or mine?"
"And yours has a camel in it," Neptune noted. Hmm. With a raised eyebrow, she began a few notes.
CAMEL - you will overcome burden and pressure to reach oasis.
CHAIR - a guest or new addition to the family.
MOUNTAIN DUNE - a difficult, but possible, goal.
SUN - a new beginning.
TABLE - a happy social interlude.
She raised her hand after making a few notes. THIS interpretation was EASY. "May I, Professor Nolan?" Ahem. She stood up and flourished her paper around, totally disregarding that this might be personal or something for Patroclus.
"Patroclus's dreams are telling him that he should probably break up with his girlfriend. She's no good for him," Neptune looked around the room, wondering if she was in the room, "and that he'll be fine, 'cause he's going to get a new girlfriend soon. A better one." Neptune WINKED at Patroclus, took a bow for her excellent work, then sat back down.
Patroclus exploded into laughter, Neptune was seriously hilarious!
Wiping a tear from his eye, he stretched out his hand and took back the parchment containing his dream, "Let me see.....wow Neptune you are incredible, you can read me like a book," he smiled, laughter creeping back into his features.
Breathing a sigh of reflection, then bursting into a new set of laughter, Patroclus noted Nep's wink.
"Miss Bott, are you asking me out?" He asked, his face deadpan despite the laugh at screamed with in.
Yes.. So Professor told Rae she could share, and Evelyn was just waking up, and Rae didn't come to a conclusion about what her dream means. Here we go. "Well.... Er.. Evelyn's dream has a lot to do with sheep... That means a peaceful person... It also talks about a box... So uhh.. The dream means that Evelyn is going to receive a gift, from a peaceful person.... Right?" Of course, there was a lot more to her dream. However being the kind of student that Rae has always been, this is what she got from it. It was worth a try right?

"It's not who you are that holds you back, it's who you think you are not."
Alice raised her hand to share her dream. Perhaps Professor Reynolds could offer some settling perspective.
"Professor Reynolds, would you mind looking at my dream? I'm not really sure I am following what it means." Alice held out the piece of parchment to the Professor, not sure if he would want her to share with the whole class or not.
SPOILER!!: alice's dream
In the dream she was standing in the middle of a clearing, the woods nothing but darkness around her. She was standing in the middle of the circle, waiting for whatever was watching her to come out. It had wanted her there for some reason but she had no idea why. The longer she stood there the colder she seemed to get, and after about five minutes she would look down and see a small snake looking up at her, before turning to point towards the clearing. Although frightened she would start to walk towards the end of the woods, stopping just before line where it went from grass to woods. She waited until she heard her mother's voice call out in a cry for help, and Alice would start to run towards the noise, but wouldn't be able to, the snake holding her in her place. When she would plead with it it would merely shake it's head.
"I see it has snake which means someone I shouldn't trust, but I'm not sure what the other aspects of the dream symbolize."

Okay, Treyen began to write.
BROOM - new home; new era in your life. FLY - an annoying person. TREE - alone = family, roots, heritage
The boy's mouth turned into an 'O'. Interesting, rather interesting. But it seemed mostly impossible that every time he stepped into the Divination classroom all the answers were family related.
And every time they had something to do with a new era.
With a frown, the Huffie boy raised his hand, "Professor, I think what my dream is telling me is that there's still so much to learn about myself that I haven't learned yet" he stared at the paper, "And that perhaps I should dig deeper into it?" the annoying part could resemble the 'dig' part, since most of those people, the meddlers, were considered annoying.
He rested his case, and his hand.
"Very good interpretation, Mister Lockhart," Nolan said with a grin. Man, this kid was always on fire in his class. He was so good at Divination!

"I sometimes dream that I am practicing kendo with my oldest brother out in a great wide field. It is night, but the field is glowing a golden color. Suddenly, thousands of fireflies appear lighting the sky with their greenish-yellowish glow. Suddenly, there is a very strong wind and I run to my brother but, right as I am about to reach him, he turns into a statue made from cherry blossoms and blows away with the wind..." she paused for a moment to put the parchment down before continuing. "The gold color of the field could represent accomplishment, spiritual rewards, and feelings of satisfaction - practicing kendo with my brothers is something that always made me feel those things. Fireflies can represent hope. However, my brother turning into cherry blossoms and blowing away on a strong wind could imply big change or a strong spiritual force that threatens myself..." she paused for another brief moment to look over her notes. "So...right now I am at a good place where I feel confident and safe...but...something is coming that may turn that all upside down..." she said that last part a little more like a question than the rest of her analysis where she felt a little more confident. She then sat back down in her seat and waiting for the professor to respond to her dream analysis.
Another rather...interesting dream. but a very good interpretation of it as well. "Excellent job!" Nolan complimented her with a smile.

"OOOOH. Can I read mine out, Professor?" He asked with his hand raised. Jack was going to do it anyway, everybody else was. "I was running away and being attacked by zombies, they're like .... inferius and stuff." Yeah, pretty grim. "I was using bats to defend myself, which represents an alert, so I should be cautious about something happening, something amongst people I'm close with."
Nolan laughed. "Sounds like one of those old Muggle movies...very good work interpreting that," he told the Slytherin.

Well DUH. No one wanted that to happen in real life! He should have mentally prepared himself better than his lesson.

Sometimes dreams may only have one or two symbols in them that you can actually interpret as well," he explained.

Just when Nolan thought all the craziness had died down, he noticed a few girls...a fair few of them, just NOW starting to partner up. Sighing and running a hand over his eyes under his glasses, he cleared his throat. "Ladies? We've moved on from the partner portion of this lesson and we're listening to people share their dreams. Please cease your interpretations and pay attention," he told them.

OOC: Sorry if I'm making Nolan seem overly harsh, but you guys have GOT to pay attention to what I'm posting. I know for a fact I posted over two pages ago that we were wrapping things up and we'd moved on to sharing our dreams. I apologize if I didn't make things clear enough in my posts, but if it was simply a matter of you not reading my posts and paying attention, PLEASE try and do this in the future lessons. Sometimes you may need to read a few pages to catch up, but it's definitely worth it and takes away a distraction from the other students when people are chatting and RPing something we'd stopped pages ago. Also, it frustrates ME because I feel you guys are just skimming my posts...I don't post just to see myself post, you know :] *hugs*
This is a polite request to EVERYONE. Please READDD. This has happened more than a few times this lesson :[
Now stressed to the point that his back hurt due to their failure to listen to him, he took a deep breath and kindly smiled at them. Just because he was annoyed didn't mean he should be a jerk to the rest of the class.
"I think the time has come to excuse you for the day. Please pack up your things, and there is no need to turn in your interpretation -- keep them for your notes. I was keeping track of who was participating," he told them. "Homework will be posted in a few minutes, which also brings me to my next point of business."
"This semester, you'll have a term long project, and I'm sure many of you have already guessed it--we'll be keeping dream diaries this term," he told them with a grin. FINALLY they'd reached the part of the lesson he was thrilled about! "In case you haven't noticed, there's a bookcase outside with numerous dream diaries completely blank and ready to be written in...and one of the best parts is that, when you take a diary and begin to write in it, it is YOUR diary, and won't open for anyone else, except for me since I need to grade them," he explained. So, no need to worry about privacy being violated!
"More exact details will be given when I post the homework, but the gist of the assignment is this: You'll need to record THREE dreams in your diary over the course of the year. Don't interpret them, just write them down. Later in the year, we'll interpret them as part of the final. You have all year to do it, so don't fret about getting them all done at once!" he explained. "Just don't forget about them!"
"So, let's see...homework...dream diary assignment...I think that's it. See you all next lesson! I'll be in my office if you have any questions about the homework or the dream diary assignment," he added.

Danika smiled when the Professor sent a student to detention. She was starting to like him just by that, no one should be so bold, and the boy needed to learn his lesson.
Sadly, though, it was a Gryffindor she'd recently met.
The Gryffindors weren't making a great impression on her so far. Only a couple of them.
While what was being said in the class she already knew, it was still amusing to hear what people thought their dreams meant. And even more amusing to see the faces of those whose dreams were being told without their consent. Like the Slytherin girl over there.
She continued to listen, nonetheless. Until the class had apparently finished.

DIARIES ?!
WHEEEE. Callie loooved diaries. And the idea of a diary that no one else, 'sept Professor could open sounded awesomeeeee. She was super excited. Meh. She actually didn't care about getting homework if it was fun stuffs like thisss. She smiled as Professor Reynolds said they could go. She packed away her stuff and turned to Trix. "Thanks." she said smiling at the older girl before getting up and heading to the door of the classroom. "Bye professor have a good day!"

"So, let's see...homework...dream diary assignment...I think that's it. See you all next lesson! I'll be in my office if you have any questions about the homework or the dream diary assignment," he added.
Enya stared at the Professor. He had taken 2 points for no reason! None at all. Only she and Louisa were talking because they had finished there work. Oh god she hated school even more now, it was just unfair. She piped up.
"Professor! We've done the work. Were only talking to pass the time" She argued. It was just unfair! He shouldn't have taken points! Sigh. She even pushed her work towards the Professor as proof.
But now they were being given homework. Diaries!? But they were just so boring! Gah! How was she to write all her dreams? She didn't want to, it was all private and all! Damn! She already hated all this. Sigh.
Standing up she shoved all her things into her bag and stormed towards the door, taking a diary with her....
occ; To be fair Enya did do all the work, and that they were only passing the time and all. And i've read all your post's

Beware.
"Very good interpretation, Mister Lockhart," Nolan said with a grin. Man, this kid was always on fire in his class. He was so good at Divination!
____________
Treyen nodded, still frowning a bit. Yes, there was so much he still needed to learn. Sigh. And so much to research. Then again, he liked that, didn't he? The time, however, didn't seem to be such good friend with him.
Everything was written in his parchment, and the class was over now. But, waaaaait. DIARIES? Oh my Gilderoy! That was like super awesome! His first book! Treyen grinned, and placed everything in his bag (very messy, one must add) with all the excitement about the journal. "Wicked!" he will write his first book. For a moment there he wondered at what age did Gilderoy wrote his first book, because it would be a great coincidence if the man had also been thirteen. "Thanks for the lesson, Professor!" he said, as he stood up to get his journal.
Awesomeness. He took a black one before heading towards the stairs and leaving the tower. The color didn't give much away, black was good. He was NOT taking the pink one.

Arabella-Marie smiled and packed up her things and thought right dream diary that would be easy to keep hopefully on her way out she picked up a pink journal and put it in her bag and said "Thanks Professor for the wonderful lesson" Arabella-Marie headed towards the stairs on her way back to the common room

"Bye!" Nolan called the students who left. He then turned his attention to Enya, who was not happy about losing house points. He didn't blame her, losing points wasn't usually people's goal during the day, but still, he had his reasons.
"I believe that you finished your work," he said with a head nod. "I don't doubt that. I took the points for chatting...I announced some time ago that I was asking people to share their dreams with the class. Even if you were finished and just trying to pass the time, we had moved on with class and you should have been paying attention to the students who wanted the class to hear their dreams and their interpretations," he explained.
OOC: As Nolan said, the point loss was for chatting -- it had nothing to do with finishing the classwork or not. It's only 2 points, and you can easily earn them back by doing the homework :]

Well of course she read him like a book. Neptune Bott was not only a Ravenclaw, but an extraordin -

Neptune's hair fell between her and Patroclus, hiding her positively tickled grin from him. She packed her things up, one piece at a time, each motion daintier than the last.
"Good day, Professor Nolan. I suggest some hot tea after class and a long bath." Neptune wiggled her fingers at Professor Stress and prissy-walked past Patroclus.
Then she giggled allllllll the way down the corridor.
Selena packed up her stuff, stuffing everything into her messenger bag then slinging it on one shoulder. "Thanks for the lesson, professor, I'm looking forward to the assignment," Selena said with a smile, "have a nice remainder of the day," she said, waving at the professor and then leaving.

Louisa grabbed Enya from her elbow and smiled up at the Professor, "We apologize Professor, we won't do that again. Have a good day." She said and dragged her friend along with her. Yeah, she wouldn't risk Enya arguing with the teacher which would cause Ravenclaw to lose the cup by -100 points. Heh.

Keefer just shook his head in a bemused fashion. Sometimes he just couldn't believe Neptune. She was the epitome of all things Girly!girl. I hope she wasn't trying to imply that Professor Nolan smelled bad... he thought. Or maybe she, like himself, just thought that Nolan had just been through a trying end of a class period and could use some R&R.
With a final scribble in his homework planner, he packed up and headed towards the door. "Thanks for the lesson, Professor Nolan. I'm really excited for this dream diary project! See you around!" And with that, he walked back down the staircase and headed for the common room.
