Okay, Treyen began to write. BROOM - new home; new era in your life. FLY - an annoying person. TREE - alone = family, roots, heritage
The boy's mouth turned into an 'O'. Interesting, rather interesting. But it seemed mostly impossible that every time he stepped into the Divination classroom all the answers were family related.
And every time they had something to do with a new era.
With a frown, the Huffie boy raised his hand, "Professor, I think what my dream is telling me is that there's still so much to learn about myself that I haven't learned yet" he stared at the paper, "And that perhaps I should dig deeper into it?" the annoying part could resemble the 'dig' part, since most of those people, the meddlers, were considered annoying.
He rested his case, and his hand. | "Very good interpretation, Mister Lockhart," Nolan said with a grin. Man, this kid was always on fire in his class. He was so good at Divination! Quote:

Kurumi, now finished with her dream analysis, raised her hand. She wasn't sure she had gotten everything right, but she had given it her best effort despite Adam's outburst that gave him a detention. "Professor, if I may," rising from her seat. She felt like she was back in elementary school in Japan being asked to read a passage a loud to the rest of the class. "I sometimes dream that I am practicing kendo with my oldest brother out in a great wide field. It is night, but the field is glowing a golden color. Suddenly, thousands of fireflies appear lighting the sky with their greenish-yellowish glow. Suddenly, there is a very strong wind and I run to my brother but, right as I am about to reach him, he turns into a statue made from cherry blossoms and blows away with the wind..." she paused for a moment to put the parchment down before continuing. "The gold color of the field could represent accomplishment, spiritual rewards, and feelings of satisfaction - practicing kendo with my brothers is something that always made me feel those things. Fireflies can represent hope. However, my brother turning into cherry blossoms and blowing away on a strong wind could imply big change or a strong spiritual force that threatens myself..." she paused for another brief moment to look over her notes. "So...right now I am at a good place where I feel confident and safe...but...something is coming that may turn that all upside down..." she said that last part a little more like a question than the rest of her analysis where she felt a little more confident. She then sat back down in her seat and waiting for the professor to respond to her dream analysis. | Another rather...interesting dream. but a very good interpretation of it as well. "Excellent job!" Nolan complimented her with a smile. Quote:

" If this part of the lesson is over, then I will not divulge my dream" Rex explained to Professor Reynolds. | "Since we're running short on time, I'm going to ask you to refrain, but since I already read your dream I can tell you that I personally enjoyed it and your interpretation," Nolan told Rex with a chuckle.

"OOOOH. Can I read mine out, Professor?" He asked with his hand raised. Jack was going to do it anyway, everybody else was. "I was running away and being attacked by zombies, they're like .... inferius and stuff." Yeah, pretty grim. "I was using bats to defend myself, which represents an alert, so I should be cautious about something happening, something amongst people I'm close with." | Nolan laughed. "Sounds like one of those old Muggle movies...very good work interpreting that," he told the Slytherin. Quote:

" I had a picnic with my best friends at home. It was summer and we all were enjoying the food, i ate grapes, as suddenly some creature came out of nowhere and took my friends with it as hostage. I wanted to help them but i couldnt move."
Fee shudderd as she remembered her dream. It was terrible. | Oh my. That was...more like a nightmare. "Goodness...I really do hope that doesn't happen in real life," Nolan said.
Well DUH. No one wanted that to happen in real life! He should have mentally prepared himself better than his lesson. Quote:

Cass had noticed that Fee just announced her dream to the class, so instead if begging someone to be her partner, she decided to copy her friend's example. she raised her hand and said "I would like to share my dream too." She took the parchment that she had written on earlier and read from it. | Another nightmare! Nolan blinked a few times and cleared his throat. "That sure sounds quite troubling...thank you for sharing," he told her.
These kids knew what Calming Draught was, right? It sounded like some of them needed it! Quote:

Yes.. So Professor told Rae she could share, and Evelyn was just waking up, and Rae didn't come to a conclusion about what her dream means. Here we go. "Well.... Er.. Evelyn's dream has a lot to do with sheep... That means a peaceful person... It also talks about a box... So uhh.. The dream means that Evelyn is going to receive a gift, from a peaceful person.... Right?" Of course, there was a lot more to her dream. However being the kind of student that Rae has always been, this is what she got from it. It was worth a try right? | Oh, a happy dream! "Yes, good interpretation! Good for Evelyn too, yes?" he said with a chuckle. Quote:

Alice raised her hand to share her dream. Perhaps Professor Reynolds could offer some settling perspective. "Professor Reynolds, would you mind looking at my dream? I'm not really sure I am following what it means." Alice held out the piece of parchment to the Professor, not sure if he would want her to share with the whole class or not. "I see it has snake which means someone I shouldn't trust, but I'm not sure what the other aspects of the dream symbolize." | "Well, if you can't figure out what the other symbols are, you can break them down. For example, while forest may not be on the list, trees are, so you can use that as one of your symbols. Sometimes dreams may only have one or two symbols in them that you can actually interpret as well," he explained. Quote:

Dianna was still working on her dream interpretation when she saw Hermione.
"Hey Hermione, want to be partners?" she asked. "Now I remember seeing stars in my dream.." she said as she opened her book. | Just when Nolan thought all the craziness had died down, he noticed a few girls...a fair few of them, just NOW starting to partner up. Sighing and running a hand over his eyes under his glasses, he cleared his throat. "Ladies? We've moved on from the partner portion of this lesson and we're listening to people share their dreams. Please cease your interpretations and pay attention," he told them. Quote:

No fun? But that was just NOT fun at all. Sigh. Enya put her head in her hands and well did nothing. how was talking fun!? It was not! And Louisa telling her what to do really wasn't fun anymore. She felt she needed to tell the girl that. Soon! Enya turned towards Louisa to say it, but she didn't. Louisa had spoken first. "Detention's fun Louisa. And i couldn't care less about house points" She told the girl folding her arms. True. Sticking by rules bored her, and was no fun. While she sat their talking she concluded she was going to go show Carin her dream - even if it was at the end of the lesson.
But talk? Bah. Boring. But what else could she do? There was nothing to do! Lesson's were boring. Sigh. "Fine.." She huffed. "What do you want to talk about?" She asked her best friend. |
Ok, this was the final straw.
Nolan hopped off of his desk and crossed his arms. "Miss Mayberry, we've moved on with the lesson. Meaning you should be listening to your classmates and showing them respect rather than chatting. Two points from Ravenclaw," he told her. OOC: Sorry if I'm making Nolan seem overly harsh, but you guys have GOT to pay attention to what I'm posting. I know for a fact I posted over two pages ago that we were wrapping things up and we'd moved on to sharing our dreams. I apologize if I didn't make things clear enough in my posts, but if it was simply a matter of you not reading my posts and paying attention, PLEASE try and do this in the future lessons. Sometimes you may need to read a few pages to catch up, but it's definitely worth it and takes away a distraction from the other students when people are chatting and RPing something we'd stopped pages ago. Also, it frustrates ME because I feel you guys are just skimming my posts...I don't post just to see myself post, you know :] *hugs*
This is a polite request to EVERYONE. Please READDD. This has happened more than a few times this lesson :[
Now stressed to the point that his back hurt due to their failure to listen to him, he took a deep breath and kindly smiled at them. Just because he was annoyed didn't mean he should be a jerk to the rest of the class. "I think the time has come to excuse you for the day. Please pack up your things, and there is no need to turn in your interpretation -- keep them for your notes. I was keeping track of who was participating," he told them. "Homework will be posted in a few minutes, which also brings me to my next point of business." "This semester, you'll have a term long project, and I'm sure many of you have already guessed it--we'll be keeping dream diaries this term," he told them with a grin. FINALLY they'd reached the part of the lesson he was thrilled about! "In case you haven't noticed, there's a bookcase outside with numerous dream diaries completely blank and ready to be written in...and one of the best parts is that, when you take a diary and begin to write in it, it is YOUR diary, and won't open for anyone else, except for me since I need to grade them," he explained. So, no need to worry about privacy being violated! "More exact details will be given when I post the homework, but the gist of the assignment is this: You'll need to record THREE dreams in your diary over the course of the year. Don't interpret them, just write them down. Later in the year, we'll interpret them as part of the final. You have all year to do it, so don't fret about getting them all done at once!" he explained. "Just don't forget about them!" "So, let's see...homework...dream diary assignment...I think that's it. See you all next lesson! I'll be in my office if you have any questions about the homework or the dream diary assignment," he added. |
