Divination I :: Oneiromancy

Professor Reynolds was sitting on the edge of his desk, waiting for the students to file in once he opened his class. Today however he looked a bit more exhausted than usual...his glasses had slid down the bridge of his nose and he'd made no effort to fix them, and he hadn't bothered to button up his navy sweater vest today either. Still, as the first students began to arrive, he made an effort to smile for them as they entered the room.

"Hello class...please take a seat, and we'll begin today's lesson shortly," he announced. "Keep chatter to a minimum, please!"

OOC: Class will begin in 1-2ish hours or so. Nolan IS in the room so please keep the chitter chatter down! Thank youuuu!

Saz Hale 09-08-2010 04:29 PM

Arabella-Marie entered the classroom and said "Good Morning Professor" Arabella-Marie took a seat near the front she was interested in learning about divination and she wanted to get some points for her house

HogwartsHokage 09-08-2010 04:31 PM

Jenny walked into the room nervously. Divination wasn't one of the subjects she was looking forward to, but maybe her mind might change after taking it. Quickly walking in, she said, "Good day, Professor." before walking around, looking for a seat.

Emzily 09-08-2010 04:33 PM

Ella skipped into the Divination classroom with an optimistic attitude. She really had no idea why she was feeling so awesome today, but it was definitely a good thing. She smiled at the professor, noticing that he looked a little... put out.
"Hello Professor, how are you today?" She asked brightly, although she wasn't sure whether he would return the happiness. Meh.

She sat down at the front of the classroom, and tapped her feet on the ground as she waited for the lesson to begin. Happy Ella was kind of freaky. Maybe it was the hair. Blonde's have more fun? Haaah.

brelovesweasleys 09-08-2010 04:35 PM

Oh good, Rae was early. Even if Rae did think that Divination was a joke, she liked this class nonetheless. She greeted her teacher, which she normally didn't do.. "Hello Professor Reynolds.. Good day isn't it?" Yeah, she was is a happy mood. She found a seat over towards the front and waited for people to show up so the lesson could start.

Roselyn 09-08-2010 04:36 PM

Yes, it was official. She almost completely hated Divination. Whyyy did it have to be so high up huh?

Finally making it to the classroom though, the Slytherin leaned the door frame for just a moment before making her way into the classroom, mustering up a smile for the Professor. "G'day Professor." she muttered before taking a usual seat near the back. They were keeping the lights on during this lesson right? She made no promises that she'd stay awake if they went off! Oh, scratch that...Rae was here.

She could keep her awake right? Hehe. Changing direction, Evelyn took a seat next to the older Slytherin, right in the front. Well, that'd definitely keep her awake right there.

Hollister 09-08-2010 04:37 PM

Now, surprisingly, Jack really liked Divination. He found it quite interesting, his parents told him otherwise, and that potions and Arithmancy were the way forward. Hahaha, no. Jack strolled into the classroom, bag slung on his left shoulder and his hands in his pockets. "Sir." Jack gave the professor a nod, before taking a seat at the back.

Ladybug 09-08-2010 04:45 PM

Enya slowly walked into the classroom, she really didn't know why she was hear she didn't even like the subject. Hell. She didn't like learning, but if it made Vanessa happy she would turn up. Maybe she'd learn something new. Sigh. Peeking round the classroom she had just walked into she stopped, standing in full view of everyone. She could tell this was going to be a good class. Sorta.

After a few minutes of 'posing' she walked over to a empty desk and poshly sat down. She was actually looking forward to the class now. Why? She asked herself looking around again. Shrugg, she'd never know. Maybe they'd be better then the lesson's she was taught at muggle school. The one's Vanessa took her too. The fact she wasn't aloud to use magic at those school's was more annoying then the actul lesson's. She actually had to work! URG!

potiongirl10 09-08-2010 04:51 PM

Yay! Amy was ready for divination she stepped into the classroom "morning Professor" she said cheerfuly to Professor Reynolds she skipped to an empty desk and sat down

ThePastelBookworm 09-08-2010 04:56 PM

joey walk into the class room she found a seat next to amy .she was ready to take notes.

Lockhartian 09-08-2010 04:58 PM

Oh my Gilderoy!

Divination was up! Treyen had almost run up the stairs in order to make it on time and be able to pick a seat. He, however, stopped at the door, so no one would notice the excitement he had while on the stairs.

But, wait. Was Professor Reynolds okay? He didn't look like he was.

Treyen sort of smiled, "Great day, Professor. Hope we can brighten it up for you" he said, with a nod, as he entered the classroom.

Dancecat3 09-08-2010 05:04 PM

Meredith walked nervously into class. She passed the professor's desk. "Good morning professor." Meredith gave a little smile. She went and sat down in the middle area of the class room

Danny Boy 09-08-2010 05:04 PM

Divination! Why oh why. It didn't actually work. He was sure if every person a tea leave said was going to die there would be alot less people in the world. The truth was that you could not predict the future because one little choice could change it.

Daniel walked into class and looked to their Divination teacher. He didn't look freaky or weird. Why on earth was he teaching divination? But maybe it was better this way. Maybe the lesson would be more normal. "Hi, professor" No good morning junk nice and informal. "How are you?" he asked not really caring before walking to the back of the class and sitting down. Maybe he could dose off here without the professor noticing.

Danika Malik 09-08-2010 05:05 PM

While she didn't intend to attend Divination, she'd been slightly curious after listening to that Fletcher boy speak back in the Defense Against the Dark Arts class. Therefore, she had to come.

Danika stopped at the door, "Good day, Professor" she said, with a little bow of the head, the man looked...well, like he hadn't slept all night. The Professors they had at Hogwarts. Odd selection. "I vas told I could join a class of my interest, and I vould like to join this one" she said, as if saying 'this better not be a waste of my time and you should be totally proud that I chose this one'.

ChloeeCloverr 09-08-2010 05:09 PM

Lessons. Ugh. Hopefully they'd be more fun than they were at muggle schools. English and maths ? What was that about ? It was SO confusing and they Weren't aloud to use magic. Ridiculous no ? Callie walked into Divination and smiled at the professor. "Hello Professor." she smiled before taking a seat.

Steelsheen 09-08-2010 05:09 PM

Salander trods heavily towards the Divination classroom, trying to catch his breath and keep his heart from exploding. Seven floors, a deep dungeon, two or three different towers-- and no one thought of an elevator around this place??!?

He collapses onto a seat closest to the door, barely able to mutter a Hello to the Professor. The most he can do is glare stare.

Lottiepot 09-08-2010 05:12 PM

Divination hmm??

Well it was one of the subjects she had got her O in so why not be happy about it? The Blonde made her way into the classroom, smiles all round. This shouldn't be bad at all now should it? Spotting her cousin already in the classroom, Trixie made her way over before addressing the Professor. "Hello Professor. Good summer?" she asked with a charming smile. It was strange how polite the students really were when entering classes.

She took one glance at her, now blonde, cousin before turning to the front. Did they need anything?

Crayola 09-08-2010 05:18 PM

Joshua had a feeling he would not attend this class very often.

The amount of steps he had to walk up! Gosh. It was nuts. And since he still couldn't wrap his head around Hogwarts so he had gotten lost. A LOT. Maybe he just needed to ask someone for a map! He walked past the threshold and looked at the Professor.

HMMM.

Maybe?

"Hi, Mister ... Professor ... Sir." ACK! Not up for a good start, was he? He took a deep breath and smiled embarrasedly at the man, wishing he wasn't blushing that much. "Can I get a map of the castle somewhere? I sort of ... get lost a lot." EEEEP!

BanaBatGirl 09-08-2010 05:18 PM

Fletcher entered the Divination classroom slowly, not at all too happy to have climbed all the ridiculous stairs that led to this room. He slumped into a seat near Rae and put his head down on his arms.

"'Lo, professor," he nodded toward the Divination dude before closing his eyes.

Man. It was exhausting to be this awesome.

CharGryffindor 09-08-2010 05:25 PM

Rubiey walked into the class. She was insanely excited for her first lesson at Hogwarts; Divination. She smiled at Professor Reyolds. "Hey, sir. How are ya?" She asked taking a seat, practically bouncing up and down in anticipation.

Jason Potter Weasley 09-08-2010 05:29 PM

Rex waits for the class to start.

Jamers 09-08-2010 05:30 PM

Taylor walked in to the classroom. She walked over to an empty seat, set her stuff down and sat down. "Hello Professor." She said as she was getting the stuff she needed.

Lauralicious 09-08-2010 05:32 PM

Fee entered the classroom for her first lesson of Divination.
"Good morning,Professor", she said smiling.
Dang, this was exciting.
She took an empty seat near one of the windows and took out her parchement and her pink pen.

"Good morning," Nolan said with a smile to the Gryffindor girl near the front before smiling and nodding at the young girl looking for a seat as well.

The truth was Nolan was NOT very well today, but he had promised himself he wouldn't let his social life get in the way of his classes, so once again, he grinned politely at the girl. "I'm fine, thank you Miss Ainsworth," he told her.

"Good day Miss Flores," he said to the Slytherin, remembering that he needed to keep a close eye on this one. He still had the gong in the desk drawer if anyone fell asleep, he wasn't afraid to use it!

Nolan nodded at the Slytherin boy who entered the room...hmmm, he seemed a man of very few words. He then turned his attention to the Slytherin who entered right behind him and smiled. "Good morning to you too."

Nolan couldn't help but genuinely smile when Treyen entered the room. The boy had shown great promise in his classes last year, and he was really hoping that would be the case again this year. "Hello Mister Lockhart," he said, choosing to ignore the comment about his mood. Clearly, he needed to ACT happier. Yes. he could do that!

Ahhh, one of the visiting students! Nolan perked up immediately, sitting straighter on his desk and nodding at the young girl. "Of course Miss Malik, feel free to take a seat anywhere you'd like. I hope you enjoy the lesson," he said with a smile. This was so exciting! He glanced around the room for a few moments, hoping that the presence of one of the Drumstrang students would convince them all to behave, or he'd have to be the strict, boring professor...

Viky strolled happily into Divination, looking around for either Simon, or Josh. No one yet. Oh well... they'd get there later. Hopefully. Cause she didn't want to be alone this lesson. 'Hi, Proffessor Reynolds. Are you alright, Sir?' she asked with a friendly smile, as he looked a bit... upset, perhaps? Giving him another smile, she sat down at one of the desks, next to Jack, whom she'd just noticed. Flashing him a smile, she took her books out of her bag and placed them on the desk.

Stepping into the classroom, JD looks around for an empty seat, hoping not to end up anywhere near Ellie, he didn't no reminders of that one again. Finding a seat in the corner, he puts his bag down next to him, on the floor.

'Morning, Sir' Eliza said politely, having forgotten the Proffessor's name. It began with a 'R', she was sure. But she couldn't remember the REST of his name. Ah well, Si would do quite well instead. Giving Mr. Proffessor Dude a smile, she sat down at a front-row seat, placing her books and quills neatly on the desk in front of her.

Yeah, as far away from him as possible. And as closer as the Professor as possible, because he was going to focus here. Focusing time was on.

Tory walked in and sat down at the back. "Good Mornin' Sir" she said politely.

How could she have forgotten they'd have most of their classes together? They were in the same house, and year! It seemed like Carin's temper and self-control really would be put to the test this year.

As some of you recall, I asked you last term what some of your interests were in Divination...I find all sorts of branches fascinating, but just because I enjoy Tasseography doesn't mean everyone else does," he said. He did LOVE those tea leaves. "Now, while I can't promise that EVERYONE will find EVERY lesson incredibly interesting, it did help me get a feel for what you all wanted to see, so I'm hoping I've better tailored my lessons to make them more enjoyable for you...and hopefully they're interesting enough to keep you awake," he added with a slight smirk in Rose's direction.

"Now, can anyone tell me what Oneiromancy is?" he asked.

I hope you enjoy the lesson," he said with a smile. This was so exciting! He glanced around the room for a few moments, hoping that the presence of one of the Drumstrang students would convince them all to behave, or he'd have to be the strict, boring professor...

Danika smiled, and nodded.

Oh, but look who was already taking a seat. The sole person that got her interested in this class. Fletcher.

Well, Danika took a seat next to him, perhaps when he wakes up he'll notice.

***

But for now, the class had started. And it was time to take in how the Professor conducted his class. No, she wasn't answering any questions, unless she found it completely necessary.

RachieRu 09-08-2010 06:11 PM

oooh. Finn knew what that was. Seemed that he had been awake for at least some of his lessons back home. "Isn't it based upon dreams sir?"

Dang, this was exciting.
She took an empty seat near one of the windows and took out her parchement and her pink pen.

Emmaleigh managed to find her way up to the divination classroom. She entered the back of the room, and looked for one of her friends to sit with, but she didn't see any of her Hufflepuff friends. "oh, but look over there" she thought as she spotted Fee.
She made her way over to her and took a seat. "Good morrning," she said to the other girl. She sat down, and removed some parchment and a quill from her bag.

Yeah, as far away from him as possible. And as closer as the Professor as possible, because he was going to focus here. Focusing time was on.

Keefer bounced into the room and immediately spotted Treyen. He headed over towards him and sat down. "First Divination, should be good, eh?"

Divination....... not one of her strongest subjects. But that was probably because she rarely participated last term, this time was different. She needed high grades.

Oneiromancy? Oh, no way! "Dream interpretation..." she muttered more to herself, (though since she was sitting right in the front, the professor would probably hear to), as she pulled out her notebook and quill. Just, a regular quill this time. Plain, boring, and brown. Pffft. Well, she didn't so much want to use the other crazy ones. They were too special to her now.

But, back to the subject. Probably one of the topics she'd actually pay attention to. Unless, of course, it had to do with fire, and her not getting burned, then she'd pay attention to that too.

Erindipity 09-08-2010 06:18 PM

Lexi stared at the side of Finn's head for a moment and then shook herself out of her trance like state. Heh. She had never really been one for Divination in the past, but she had promised herself she would give it a try this term... so here she was. She was about to say that the form of Divination he asked about was like interpreting dreams, but someone had beaten her to it while she was staring. Heh. She scratched some things down on her parchment and listened for moooooooore stuff... Divination stuff... whatever.

Having managed to make it to the class before the class started, Simon took a seat on the other side of Viky just as Professor Reynolds went to start speaking. He gave her a small smile before turning his full attention to the professor, staying quiet at the moment as he was new to the topic. The boy wasn't entirely sure why he was taking the class but he figured at the very least it would be a nice break from the harder required classes.

Oooh, she knew this, she'd read about it the other day when her mother was going on about a weird dream she'd had. Carin remembered looking up the term in her textbooks and being rather interested by the concept.

"Oneiromancy is the idea that you can predict the future by interpreting your dreams," Carin replied. She also recalled that when her mother had tried interpreting her dream, it had made no sense at all.

"But, sir, how accurate is that considered to be? I mean, if the prediction is based on interpretation, than any expert could come up with a different future, seeing as interpreting something is a matter of point of view, it's subjective. Right?" she asked curiously. It always amazed her how many people believed and relied on divination without much solid facts around it.

From her seat, Lorelai BLINK!BLINK!BLIIIINKED at some of the words used. Sure, she wasn't bloody brilliant in this lesson, nor did she even think she could spell the lessons title properly herself [without her timetable to aid her], but THIS was beyond belief. Little -and we MEAN little- kids knew the answer, and she just .. didn't.

Oh, first fail of the term.

She was sure glad she had read her textbook over the summer. Not that it would help her much.

Just as Jenny found a seat and was pulling out her quill and parchment, she looked up at the professor and blinked.

What? What did one...onei...one-iron-mency mean? Sighing, Jenny figured out that this was going to be one of her worst classes anyway. Even DADA was better than this.

Jenny prepared to take notes as a few other people (who were quite interested in Divination, she noticed) answered the professor's question.

potiongirl10 09-08-2010 06:59 PM

Thankfully Chloe hadtaken divinations at her previous school so she was not completely in the dark for this class. Even so, she had never heard onoiromancy. Lina raised her hand, not sure if she was bored or interested. "Oneiromancy is the practice of interpreting dreams. This is usually done using a set list of symbolism in which to derive meaning, or by personal interpretations which could be more or less accurate based on the sensitivity of the person... either in knowing themselves or being able to sense the meaning and feelings behind a person's dream. Some say that the definition of imagery is set, while others believe that it's a matter of what the symbols mean to you. The latter belief better explains why different dream 'dictionaries' from different cultures have different definitions. The way a dragon can be seen as evil and connected to the serpent in one culture, but a sign of luck, prosperity, and wisdom in another culture."

Salander gave the Professor a half-smile. His heart was still racing slightly but he's pretty much caught his breath by now. "No thanks Chief, I'm good." he replied. He appreciated that this Professor was nice enough to offer him something to drink, the only other thing his past teachers offered him was detention or dismissal. boo.

Oh no, big words... not good. Salander brow furrowed as he struggled to listened to other students giving the answer to the Professor's question. He knew he will get lost in the lesson very quickly unless he had something to follow the discussion with, since he knew his brain doesnt have a fool's hope in providing the answers. Quietly he opened his bag and rummaged it for the Divination book. Where is that thing that had a lot of fog?....

"As many of you said, Oneiromancy is the art of interpreting dreams to find out about future events, or even to uncover certain personality traits hidden deep within your unconscious mind," he explained. "The best way to do this is through the use of dream diaries, where people record their dreams in a notebook of some sort before they forget them, usually right when they wake up."

What looks like a spoon to one person may look like a frog to another," he said. "However, I've often found that if people take their interpretations seriously, along the line they find that their predictions are correct. That's not to say that EVERYTHING in this class you interpret will be correct. That is both the beauty and downfall of Divination...you never know if the prediction is right until it actually happens," he explained.

Nolan nodded. "Right you are...for simplicity's sake, we're going to have a set list of symbols and their meanings when we do our readings, the same one we used last term," he explained with a smile.

"Dream interpretation is one of the oldest forms of Divination...one of the oldest and most unique examples of this was the Ramesside Dream-Book. Does anyone know which ancient culture that book was from?" he asked the class. Yay history!

Simon listened to all the answers various fellow students gave to the first question the professor gave the class. His quill moving across parchment as he took notes on what was being said. As the next question was asked, Simon decided to take a chance on this one and raised his hand to answer.

"Ancient Egypt " he replied as he lowered his hand back to the table in front of him.

Lottiepot 09-08-2010 07:53 PM

Trixie raised her hand to answer the question, a grin on the sixth years face. She really did actually enjoy Divination a lot. "Was it the Ancient Egyptians Professor?" she asked but it was almost stated as a fact. She thought she had it correct, in fact she was pretty certain but it was always good to get things checked wasn't it? "From Deir el-Medina to be more specific" that was if he wanted detail.

Roselyn 09-08-2010 07:55 PM

Writing down the topic on the top of the page in her notebook, glaring at her writing utensil for it's boring-ness, the Slytherin leaned back in her seat before writing down what the definition of oneiromancy was. Ooh question, she knew the answer to. "The ancient Epgyptians." she said, raising her hand slightly before putting it down after answering. That was right...right?

Woooot, she got the question right. She was getting good at this.
Hmmm, Ella definitely rememebered reading about this kind of Divination somewhere. The Ramesside Dream-Book.......?
"Ancient Egyptian culture?" She said with her hand raised. That was the only culture that sprung to mind really.

Yeah! Points for Huffies. Awesome.

And then, hmmmm, Treyen wasn't sure, but he raised his hands nonetheless, there were one sort of people that liked dreams and stuff, "Egypt, Professor" he said, and if he was wrong, then that's what he was here for, to learn.

ChloeeCloverr 09-08-2010 07:55 PM

OH! She knew this one. Moving schools a lot, meh seemed she had actually learned something. She stuck her hand up before opening her mouth and saying "Ancient Egyptians ?" she said before putting her hand down at looking around at the rest of the class.

RachieRu 09-08-2010 07:56 PM

Anicent cultures? Finn was pretty sure that there were only a few ancient cultures? So if he really didn't know the answer he could just take a guess? He thought for a few minutes, before raising his hand. He was sure that it was that one, from what he remembered vagely. "Isn't it from the Egyptian culture?" He inquired as he glanced around the room, grinning at Lexi, who seemed to be staring at him.

Paintbrush 09-08-2010 08:07 PM

Carin raised her hand when she heard the next question - she'd almost missed it, having been thinking about the Professor's reply to her previous query. So basically, it turned out that any interpretation might be correct... well, that wasn't very helpful. She'd say it's a downside of the subject rather than the magic of it...

It would be magical if a prediction did come true, though.

She was striking lucky today, seeing as they were covering a topic she knew a thing or two about, just when she most needed to start gaining back the points she'd lost. Oooh she liked dreams!

"That would be Ancient Egypt, sir, sometime around 1213 BC while Ramesses II was ruling," she replied. Well, the monarch was easy, considering the name of the book.

Lauralicious 09-08-2010 08:07 PM

"Wasnt it Egypt?!", Fee raised her hand.
She wasnt quite sure about that but she had decided it wouldnt be to bad to say something wrong. She was there to learn.

Riley had been sitting there writing down as much notes as he possibly could. He had NO divination expereience at all at his old school and he had met Professor Nolan in Diagon Alley and he wanted to look good for the guy who saved his shoes.

He listened and watched as a few other people raised their hands and he thought he had heard that name of the book before, when he was reading his Divination textbook. "Professor I think the oracles and priests used that book in Ancient Egypt and the Nile River civilizations." he said with a bright grin, yep he knew that answer!

keepmeclose22 09-08-2010 08:11 PM

She looked interestingly at the teacher. She was very curious as to what it was, but history wasn't really her fav subject.

"The Ramesside Dream-Book, also called the Ramesside Dream Manual, and sometimes just the Dream Book by enthusiasts, is from the pre-Hellenistic Egyptian era. The papyrus it was translated from was found in Deir el-Medina, and is dated to the period of the reign of Ramesses the second, around 1275 BC."

Amy thought for a moment about the question... she had no idea! she listened intently to the lesson and continued to scribble down notes about the dream book

Adeline deeply payed attetion. Her grandma was a seer, and her mom always told her she had a special gift. Hmmpp. She didn't know any answers so she just staired at the proffesor and her classmates, letting the information soak into her brain taking notes with her chocolate flavored ink.

Joshua couldn't figure out how to spell ... what was it again? Oni ... something, something? But that was okay - at least he had understood what it was! Sort of! It was dreams stuff.

He listened to his classmates' answers, mentioning a book and Ancient Egypt. ANCIENT EGYPT WAS COOL! "Did they find the book inside one of the pyramids, Sir?" He excitedly asking, waiving his arm around in the air. "With a mummy holding it tightly?"

He could just picture the finding of the Something-Something-Dream Book!

Alice hurried into the class and took a seat next to Rubiey and pulled out her belongings. She smiled at her friend reassuringly, more for herself than Rubiey, and focused her attention to Professor Reynolds who looked very tired. Poor guy. "Hi Professor Reynolds," Alice said with a small wave and just loud enough so he could hear. She was ready for class

"Alright, I'm going to get started with class now, since it seems the last of our final arrivals are here.

Alice had no clue what that was, so she just sat and listened to everyone else answer. She had a feeling this was going to to be a class she really needed to pay attention in.

Jason stared at the professor as though she had just murdered his cat... He had no clue what it was, and as a matter of fact he didn't care much either. Divination was Jasons least favourite subject, he didn't even know why he was here - but he was. And so he just listened to the other pupils all copy each others answers right infront of him...

Jenny looked up once again. This sounds like a question worth answering; Jenny likes reading about ancient cultures sometimes. Hm...the Egyptians seem to be superstitious when it comes to their gods and all that stuff, so why not?

"Ancient Egypt?" Jenny replied nervously. Hopefully that was a good guess.

Hearing the rest of the class answer after him, Simon had some idea that his answer was the right one. Still Simon couldn't help smiling a little as Professor Reynolds confirmed that his answer was indeed correct and that he was rewarded in turn. Guess I have some clue whats going on, he mused to himself as he continued to listen.

"Would that be believing you have woken up and gone about events only to really wake up after ?" he half-questioned as he answered.

Great Brittany finally thought she knew something. She smiled Brightly and raised her hand "Professor i think it is A false awakening is a vivid dream about awakening from sleep." She said hoping it was right. "sorta like a double dream i guess."

Lexers 09-08-2010 09:45 PM

False... awakening? Umm.. Cameron hazarded a guess. "Sirrr." She put up her hand and spoke. "Would that be.. like, when people are having a dream and then they wake up from within that dream and believe they're awake? And they dream.. like.. normal everyday events happening? Is that right?" It didn't really sound right. The Prefect made a face. Hmm..

Lottiepot 09-08-2010 09:46 PM

Trixie raised her hand once more. This dream business was VERY interesting, well it was to her at least. "Professor. Is that when you have a very vivid and life like dream that you are waking up from your slumber?" she started. "It's quite common to also dream yourself doing your usual tasks, so it really feels like you HAVE actually woken up when in fact your are still dreaming" she continued. "It could be rather confusing or even distressing to whomever it is happening to. It's pretty much a dream within a dream" she explained further.

Cora thought about it for a minute and seemed that the answer was fairly obvious. She raised her hand and said, "Professor, isn't that when you are dreaming and you thing you have awaken. You usually dream that you are in the same room that you fell asleep in and you go about you normal morning business just to actually wake up and figure out that you were still dreaming?

WeasleyObsession7 09-08-2010 09:49 PM

Sophia raised her hand again. "A false awakening, sir, is a vivid dream about awakening from sleep." she said. "After they wake up in their dreams, they are likely to start dreaming about morning rituals." she said, again. "Such as cooking, cleaning, and other things of the sort." she said. Wow. That was a long answer. she thought.
