Professor Reynolds was sitting on the edge of his desk, waiting for the students to file in once he opened his class. Today however he looked a bit more exhausted than usual...his glasses had slid down the bridge of his nose and he'd made no effort to fix them, and he hadn't bothered to button up his navy sweater vest today either. Still, as the first students began to arrive, he made an effort to smile for them as they entered the room.
"Hello class...please take a seat, and we'll begin today's lesson shortly," he announced. "Keep chatter to a minimum, please!"
OOC: Class will begin in 1-2ish hours or so. Nolan IS in the room so please keep the chitter chatter down! Thank youuuu!
Nolan checked his watch. It seemed like a lot of people were done and starting to chat, so it seemed about time to wrap up. They didn't have much time left in the class anyways.
"Alright, let's try and wrap things up, shall we? Does anyone want to share their dreams with the class? If you have a dream that you feel is too personal for everyone to hear, you're not obligated to volunteer at all, but I would like to give a few people a chance to share their interpretations," he said, walking up to the front of the class. "So, any volunteers?"
Sapphinelle sharply raised her hand and smiled at Professor Reynolds. She quite liked him, he was very nice.

"I have a dream..."Adam said quietly. He got up from his seat.slowly."There well, this one time I was running away from one of my friends and I got on a moped- a motorcyle and flew away with the girl I like...I know it sounds cheesy, but I just want to know what it really means...The moped was orange and the girl had pink hair- the one that came with me...An I had a fight with the girl that I had run away from..."Adam said, keeping the words Katie and Kurumi out of the dream...

Ooh Riley wanted to talk infront of the class!!! be center of attention the Gryffindor stood up and cleared his throat dramatically and then began to speak. "Professor this is a dream I had a few nights ago and it caused me to wake up quite severely, but I know it was not a false awakening..." Bonus for using a vocabulary word???
"As I was saying my dream was pretty disturbing. I was packing for school at my home in Dublin when all of a sudden my step father, who is lets just say is a goose short of a gaggle, spilt his pancakes and syrup ALL OVER my favorite white boating shoes!" he let that hang out in the air for all of the other students to ooh and ahhh... "Yeah it was terrible." he nodded.
..............
"Oh right, interpretation." Riley scracthed his cheek for a second and then his eyes lit up again. "Well it obviously meant something bad was going to happen in my packing process or perhaps that a clumsy person around me would try and hamper my trip to Hogwarts, a sticky situation perhaps?" he said almost as a question, he turned to face Professor Nolan.

Anna nodded. she would see how it was relevant. Mostly she thought that she was "falling for someone" eh? Eh? "Cool cool. I can see how that is...soooo...I think we are done. I guess we just sit around...So...how ya doin'?" She asked.

"Girls, we've moved on," Nolan said, glancing at the girls who were still talking amongst themselves. "Please refrain from chatting if you value your lead at the moment," he added.
Man, the beginning of the term was so interesting like that. The leading team had zero points because everyone else was a troublemaker. Hehe.

Nolan thought Riley's dream was very interesting...dreams about clothing was always VERY interesting, when out of nowhere, a very RUDE Gryffindor decided to play a game of 'I can be more immature than you'. Well, that wasn't going to fly. Nolan had been about to ask him about his dream too, and what he thought it meant, but now...he wasn't in the mood. He was already under enough stress as it was, he certainly didn't need this.
"Mister Burn, your jab at Mister Sinclair was completely out of line. His interpretation was actually correct, since I happen to recall an incident with some bubble gum in Diagon Alley?" he asked, grinning at Riley as he spoke. Don't worry little Gryffie, he had this.
"Rather than punish your entire house for little outburst, I think I'm just going to have to teach you some manners myself. Detention in the dungeons, immediately following this lesson," he told him.
SIGH. Ok, now that he'd laid down the law, he looked around. "Anyone else care to share their dreams and interpretations?" he asked. UGGH. This was giving him a migraine, they needed to wrap up soooooon.

Hermione thought long and hard about any dreams that came to mind recently. But none of them seemed rather that important and she could hardly remember anything that happened. I must have pretty boring dreams if I can't remember any of them thought Hermione rather amused about the whole idea.

Adam stared at the professor a few short seconds then plumped down onto his seat. He was fuming inside. His first detention, ever! He refrained himself from going like a mad monkey."Yes, Professor."He said in a quiet , sorry tone.Though he did NOT say sorry to, was it Riley?
"Go ahead, you can share your dream and your interpretations," Nolan said with a smile to the Hufflepuff who volunteered.
"Well, this one's a bit scary." she said, folding her hands in her lap, and put on a serious face. "Me and my mom were back at home in France, having a wonderful time, going out shopping, then she...she had a heart attack, and I ran to save her... I saved her in time, but she was hospitalized for months. It was dreadful for me to think of. I cried for days on end because of that dream." She said strongly, doing well not to be a total baby and cry. Sapphinelle lifted her head to look at Professor Reynolds. "I'm very overprotective of my mother, and she's been sick for as long as I can remember. It's hard to not think about her a lot, and I'm scared something will happen to her." she said with her french accent in a sad tone.
Bristol was pretty nervous about her first Divination. Nervous......but excited. It happen to be her first class too, which added to her nervousness and excitement. She walked in to the classroom. She walked by the professor "Good, morning, Professor!" She smiled as she took a seat in the second row. She pulled her divination book out ready for class to start.

Arabella-Marie couldnt think of any dreams that she had recently that had happened when she was still sleeping and raised her hand and said "Professor what happens if you can't remember any dreams that you have had recently"
Dianna listened to the Professor. She had dreams, didn't everyone have at least one? But had a question about it.
"Professor, how do dreams begin? I mean I don't remember how my dreams ever started or how I got into that dream." Dianna asked as she lowered her hand.
Rae left her parchment with the dream sitting on the table while she took Evelyn's dream and started reading it assuming they were partners. Heh, sheep. Rae wondered how this dream could be interpreted.... She kept looking back and forth at the list "Professor, could I share?"

Neptune Bott preened her expensive eagle quill before beginning. Ahem.
Once she was finished, Neptune went and handed her paper to a pretty blond boy. Patroclus, as it were. OBVIOUSLY they were going to be partners. She held her hand out of his dream without chitter chatter in between. Only a giggle. GIGGLE.
Patroclus was taking by surprise, by a super cute giggle to his side, turning to see it was Neptuna Bott - a person Patroclus had been dying to meet (he heard go things)- the boy allowed a smile to wrap it's way across his face.
Taking his parchment, he handed it to Miss Bott, then took her and began to read.
Thinking better than to laugh out loud, in case it hurt Neptune's feeling, Patroclus was in hysterics, on the inside, "Your Dream is great!" He whispered so to not interupt Prof. Reynolds.
On the bottom of her age, he quickly wrote down so re-occruing symbols.

Nolan's attention was suddenly drawn to not one, but TWO new arrivals to the class. They had nearly missed the entire lesson and just walked in late, announcing their arrival. They did not seem to notice that the class was already in session, but still -- this was one too many distractions and he just couldn't let it slide anymore.
"Girls, the class is already in session...in fact, it's nearly over with. 1 point from Slytherin and another from Gryffindor for tardiness," he said with a sigh.
Maybe next lesson he'd use scented candles or something to keep them alert to what was going on. Or maybe he'd get the gong out again. THAT was always an option.

SUN - a new beginning.
SHOE - you are on the correct path; be wary of advice to change.
"And yours has a camel in it," Neptune noted. Hmm. With a raised eyebrow, she began a few notes.
CAMEL - you will overcome burden and pressure to reach oasis.
CHAIR - a guest or new addition to the family.
MOUNTAIN DUNE - a difficult, but possible, goal.
SUN - a new beginning.
TABLE - a happy social interlude.
She raised her hand after making a few notes. THIS interpretation was EASY. "May I, Professor Nolan?" Ahem. She stood up and flourished her paper around, totally disregarding that this might be personal or something for Patroclus.
"Patroclus's dreams are telling him that he should probably break up with his girlfriend. She's no good for him," Neptune looked around the room, wondering if she was in the room, "and that he'll be fine, 'cause he's going to get a new girlfriend soon. A better one." Neptune WINKED at Patroclus, took a bow for her excellent work, then sat back down.

Kurumi looked at Adam and all she could do was blink in shock. Did...did Adam just get a detention? She was going to have to talk to him about that when he was done with it...She hadn't seen him make that sort of outburst before, at least not one so negative...Kurumi went back to looking at her list and trying to figure out what her dream meant. When she was ready, she would raise her hand and tell the professor.

"Thanks professor." Dianna smiled as she got to work.
Dianna was still working on her dream interpretation when she saw Hermione.
"Hey Hermione, want to be partners?" she asked. "Now I remember seeing stars in my dream.." she said as she opened her book.
Nolan nodded. "That certainly does...reoccuring dreams are sometimes the best dreams to decipher, since your mind obviously keeps bringing it up for a reason," he explained. "When I was in school, I often had a dream that I forgot my summer homework assignments and was humiliated in front of class. EVERY year without fail, if I had an assignment, I'd have that dream." he added for an example.
Yes, he was well aware that a number of his dreams revolved around homework. He was a prefect, it was programmed into his brain to do well!
Ahh, there seemed to be some confusion over his instructions. "Those are all great examples to use for our exercise, but I'd like you all to please write them down on your parchment." he said. He had said that before, right? Hmmmm.

Okay, Treyen began to write.
BROOM - new home; new era in your life. FLY - an annoying person. TREE - alone = family, roots, heritage
The boy's mouth turned into an 'O'. Interesting, rather interesting. But it seemed mostly impossible that every time he stepped into the Divination classroom all the answers were family related.
And every time they had something to do with a new era.
With a frown, the Huffie boy raised his hand, "Professor, I think what my dream is telling me is that there's still so much to learn about myself that I haven't learned yet" he stared at the paper, "And that perhaps I should dig deeper into it?" the annoying part could resemble the 'dig' part, since most of those people, the meddlers, were considered annoying.

Kurumi, now finished with her dream analysis, raised her hand. She wasn't sure she had gotten everything right, but she had given it her best effort despite Adam's outburst that gave him a detention. "Professor, if I may," rising from her seat. She felt like she was back in elementary school in Japan being asked to read a passage a loud to the rest of the class. "I sometimes dream that I am practicing kendo with my oldest brother out in a great wide field. It is night, but the field is glowing a golden color. Suddenly, thousands of fireflies appear lighting the sky with their greenish-yellowish glow. Suddenly, there is a very strong wind and I run to my brother but, right as I am about to reach him, he turns into a statue made from cherry blossoms and blows away with the wind..." she paused for a moment to put the parchment down before continuing. "The gold color of the field could represent accomplishment, spiritual rewards, and feelings of satisfaction - practicing kendo with my brothers is something that always made me feel those things. Fireflies can represent hope. However, my brother turning into cherry blossoms and blowing away on a strong wind could imply big change or a strong spiritual force that threatens myself..." she paused for another brief moment to look over her notes. "So...right now I am at a good place where I feel confident and safe...but...something is coming that may turn that all upside down..." she said that last part a little more like a question than the rest of her analysis where she felt a little more confident. She then sat back down in her seat and waiting for the professor to respond to her dream analysis.

Evelyn...was falling asleep...
It seemed that this class did that to her. Which was a shame too because she was really interested in the topic that the professor was teaching them. And she would've fallen asleep too if she hadn't felt her parchment being pulled out from under her arm that her head was currently using as a pillow.
Whaaat?! Rae was reading her interpretation of her dream!? Her, Evelyn's, Dream!? OUT LOUD!?
Nolan blinked. Oh my. That was a nightmare if he ever heard of one. "I'm so sorry, I'm sure that mustn't have been pleasant," he remarked. Obviously it wasn't pleasant. But still...what did one say to that?

" i would like to share my dream" Rex told Professor Reynolds. "Sorry about my Gryffindor housematesmates, but I am sure the prefects will talk to them" Rex said to Professsor Reynolds. " If this part of the lesson is over, then I will not divulge my dream" Rex explained to Professor Reynolds.
"Well dude I don't know...the zombies were eating you...you're made up of bones..." Kale sunddenly busted out laughing....he was actually having fun in class...not something he usually did. "Well, like I said, usually I'm better at divination than this, but dreams...well they aren't my specialty." Kale smiled at the boy, "Jack, now that's a name I can remember." He added and waited to see if the teacher was going to say anything else.
"Oh I seeeee." Jack nodded. He ... had bones so that's why Kale could use that as an interpretation. He didn't know it would be so hard, because it just looked like he was going to have a bad future. Guess zombie wasn't written about in the text book. Meh.
"OOOOH. Can I read mine out, Professor?" He asked with his hand raised. Jack was going to do it anyway, everybody else was. "I was running away and being attacked by zombies, they're like .... inferius and stuff." Yeah, pretty grim. "I was using bats to defend myself, which represents an alert, so I should be cautious about something happening, something amongst people I'm close with."
