| | Divination I :: Oneiromancy
Professor Reynolds was sitting on the edge of his desk, waiting for the students to file in once he opened his class. Today however he looked a bit more exhausted than usual...his glasses had slid down the bridge of his nose and he'd made no effort to fix them, and he hadn't bothered to button up his navy sweater vest today either. Still, as the first students began to arrive, he made an effort to smile for them as they entered the room. "Hello class...please take a seat, and we'll begin today's lesson shortly," he announced. "Keep chatter to a minimum, please!" OOC: Class will begin in 1-2ish hours or so. Nolan IS in the room so please keep the chitter chatter down! Thank youuuu! |

She looked interestingly at the teacher. She was very curious as to what it was, but history wasn't really her fav subject.

Adeline deeply payed attetion. Her grandma was a seer, and her mom always told her she had a special gift. Hmmpp. She didn't know any answers so she just staired at the proffesor and her classmates, letting the information soak into her brain taking notes with her chocolate flavored ink.

| Mrs. Alex Turner *asterisks user* Secret Door Joshua couldn't figure out how to spell ... what was it again? Oni ... something, something? But that was okay - at least he had understood what it was! Sort of! It was dreams stuff.
He listened to his classmates' answers, mentioning a book and Ancient Egypt. ANCIENT EGYPT WAS COOL! "Did they find the book inside one of the pyramids, Sir?" He excitedly asking, waiving his arm around in the air. "With a mummy holding it tightly?"
He could just picture the finding of the Something-Something-Dream Book! |

Nolan nodded. "Right you are...for simplicity's sake, we're going to have a set list of symbols and their meanings when we do our readings, the same one we used last term," he explained with a smile. "Dream interpretation is one of the oldest forms of Divination...one of the oldest and most unique examples of this was the Ramesside Dream-Book. But he didn't agree that it was fun having more to interpret.Having less seemed better to him. It would give him a headache interpriting dreams.
Oh new question. He'd seen this himself on a muggle school trip to some museum. It was strange how much he remembered " Well sir it's from the Ancient Egyptians. It had something to do with Ramesses II so it was probably made during his rein?" He could live with that answer

Alice hurried into the class and took a seat next to Rubiey and pulled out her belongings. She smiled at her friend reassuringly, more for herself than Rubiey, and focused her attention to Professor Reynolds who looked very tired. Poor guy. "Hi Professor Reynolds," Alice said with a small wave and just loud enough so he could hear. She was ready for class Quote:

"Alright, I'm going to get started with class now, since it seems the last of our final arrivals are here. As some of you recall, I asked you last term what some of your interests were in Divination...I find all sorts of branches fascinating, but just because I enjoy Tasseography doesn't mean everyone else does," he said. He did LOVE those tea leaves. "Now, while I can't promise that EVERYONE will find EVERY lesson incredibly interesting, it did help me get a feel for what you all wanted to see, so I'm hoping I've better tailored my lessons to make them more enjoyable for you...and hopefully they're interesting enough to keep you awake," he added with a slight smirk in Rose's direction. "Now, can anyone tell me what Oneiromancy is?" he asked. Alice had no clue what that was, so she just sat and listened to everyone else answer. She had a feeling this was going to to be a class she really needed to pay attention in.

Jason stared at the professor as though she had just murdered his cat... He had no clue what it was, and as a matter of fact he didn't care much either. Divination was Jasons least favourite subject, he didn't even know why he was here - but he was. And so he just listened to the other pupils all copy each others answers right infront of him...

False... awakening? Umm.. Cameron hazarded a guess. "Sirrr." She put up her hand and spoke. "Would that be.. like, when people are having a dream and then they wake up from within that dream and believe they're awake? And they dream.. like.. normal everyday events happening? Is that right?" It didn't really sound right. The Prefect made a face. Hmm..

Trixie raised her hand once more. This dream business was VERY interesting, well it was to her at least. "Professor. Is that when you have a very vivid and life like dream that you are waking up from your slumber?" she started. "It's quite common to also dream yourself doing your usual tasks, so it really feels like you HAVE actually woken up when in fact your are still dreaming" she continued. "It could be rather confusing or even distressing to whomever it is happening to. It's pretty much a dream within a dream" she explained further.

Cora thought about it for a minute and seemed that the answer was fairly obvious. She raised her hand and said, "Professor, isn't that when you are dreaming and you thing you have awaken. You usually dream that you are in the same room that you fell asleep in and you go about you normal morning business just to actually wake up and figure out that you were still dreaming?
