Pingo. Pingo. It was fun to say. With that lovely mouth movement. "Pingo yellow!" he said, exuberantly pointing his wand at his desk. Yellow bubbles bloomed from the tip of his wand and popped on the edge of the desk. Yellow trails of dye criss-crossed on the wood and some had ended up of his clothes. Luckily, he'd heeded advice and come in the clothes his mother had designated as 'easily washed'. He smiled. Magic! His first proper Hogwarts magic. A bit whimsical maybe but still magic.

Then he heard the new instructions. He nodded once and rolled his parchment and put it carefully into his bag that still smelled of the stop where it had been bought just a few weeks ago. He capped his ink and put it and the quill in the bag also, zipped it up and then moved away from his desk into open space.

The chalk lines were everywhere! He stepped gingerly around them, rather afriad that there might be consequences beyond detention. Could you attach traps to chalk lines? He found a place to stand in the middle of the room.

Kellen sent Sabel's grin right back at him. It was so on.

No standing on chalk, check. In clothes that he didn't mind getting dyed various and sundry colours. Check. Was he ready?

Defense Against the Dark Arts just got a lot more amazing.

Eben stood up and took a spot near a few students but he kept to himself. Holding his wand firmly in his hand, he glanced over at Esme and felt small sparks fly out of his wand.

'Calm yourself Eb.' he told himself, looking away from the red head and towards the professor and Headmaster to wait for further instruction.

Lara wrote down the spell she has heard about it before.
But she hide her self behind a book when the teacher asked for volunteers.

"You think I'm going to protect you," Tate glanced down at Neptune Bott with a small smile before turning back to the students spread throughout the classroom.

"This activity will take the rest of the class period. Please gather your belongings when we're finished, and I will post the homework assignment on the board in the hall. If you are unable to continue, please find the door and leave."

Those directions shared, Tate stooped and put his wand against the closest chalk line. All around the room, the lines began to glow and then to grow. Very shortly, a maze grew up from the floor around them.

"I like the sound of this!" Keefer announced to the room at large. He quickly shoved his bag out of the way and found a large open space in the room where there would be plenty of open air for working spells. He skipped over there but did NOT step on any of the chalk lines.

I doubt Tate would get too mad if someone were to step on the chalk, but after what's already happened in this class, I'm not gonna push it!

He stayed EXTRA FAR AWAY from the chalk lines.

Emmaleigh put her belongings away. She looked down at her robes. She didn't care in the slightest if they got dirty. After all the headmaster said it was washable dye. She grabbed her wand, and went to stand beside Michael.

Alice sighed, good thing she was wearing her uniform. She had many of those, so it didn't really matter...but still, she would take shield behind anything to not get dirty, especially if it involved something sticky. She didn't like sticky stuff.

Alice place her bag near the wall and away from the students and stood away from the chalk lines. She held on to her wand tightly, excitement rising from the anticipation of what they were going to do.

Pingo, pingo, pingo...something Jenny would say all day! She was glad she was wearing her work robes; it would be a bother to get all of her good clothing dirty. Quickly putting her stuff away, Jenny got up and started walking across the room. She tried her best to not trip on the chalk lines. "Careful...careful..." she whispered to herself.

And the Headmaster didnt have to ask twice as Salander hastily shed his robes, coat and tie, then rolled up his sleeves. Forget the holster, he'll have his wand at the ready.

Oh and he is grinning like a jackal.

He shoved all his belongings in his messenger bag and tossed it to the far side of the room, just as the chalked lines started to grow and form the maze.

Amy had no idea where this was going but she couldn't wait to see

Enya jerked back to the present, she had been - well not paying attention to the class was one thing, but she hadn't been asleep. Was that a good thing? She had missed all the demostrations? She knew that much from what she had missed, everyone else was standing up, removing all there things from their desk's. Wait wait! Was she suppose to do that? They all had their wands out, was she suppose to have her's out. Gah! She was bored of this lesson already.

Sighing Enya leant down to her bag and pulled out her wand, putting the rest of her things back into it. She slowly stood up, making sure she had no dirt or anything on her clothes. That would be bad, very bad. Sighing again she turned towards the rest of the class, heading their way. She wouldn't join in if she could help it. She told herself.

Lucy heard the professor giving them some instruction as to what is to be done. She was very excited for everything going around her and was ready to go and have some fun.

Alice put all her stuff away, keeping her wand firmly in her hand, and stepping back, eyeing the floor with some amazement. This was going to be interesting...

Heather sighed. Oh no, a practical, she told her self mentally. good thing she was wearing what was required, but she never expected to have a practical. She was nervous to do a practical even though it sounded so much fun, and having the headmaster watch them...it got her even more nervous. "i'm just going to have to try...." she said, putting her things away and holding her wand tightly in her hands.

Cass grinned at her best friend :Hey there Heather, are you alright?" She asked "Sorry about earlier. I was a bit confused back there" Then she smiled up at Heather and said "How about an alliance?"

Oh this was soooo cool. She loved the idea and whilst having fun they were learning.

"Oh my God Fee, I am so sorry." Cass apologized before hand as she shouted the spell out with her wand pointed at Fee "PINGO RED!"

"yep..." she said. "i'll just try to do well...but..." she looked at cass. "i'm a little worried about your robes getting dirty though. didn't you get the memo?"

"I did actually" Cass said as she looked at her red and green splattered robes "I forgot." Then she shrugged and said "There's just robes, I have dozens more in my trunk anyway."

Amy nodded and followed the professor, dropping her cream scarf on the chair so it wouldn't be ruined

After putting away her quill and partchment, Isla followed the teacher. She was so excited.

Pam put away her parchment and quill, grabbed her wand, and stood by the wall
