The Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom had a slightly stale odor to it after having been shut up for most of the summer, in spite of the half-hearted cleaning attempts Tate attempted. He wasn't a cleaner, and he didn't have time to learn to be one.
He threw open the windows as he entered the classroom, opting instead to spend the first few minutes in the room tracing chalk outlines on the floor. The lines created a sort of flat maze, covering the room from the door to his desk at the front. Tate cleaned his hands on his robes before taking a seat behind the desk.

Iris watched between Tate and the Gryffindor as he excused her. And... the girl was argueing with some other Gryffindor. Laughing? Iris didn't hear any laughter.
As Tate called up some of the holster-less students, Iris made a couple of notes and doodles on her page, and waited to see how this demonstration was going to play out. All in all though, she just wanted that disruptive Gryffindor to LEAVE like she was asked. DADA wasn't Iris's best class, and this attention seeker was NOT going to ruin Iris's chance at getting a decent OWL in this class.

"The Expelliarmus disarms," Tate shrugged. "The holster will definitely prevent that from happening, although it might not prevent a summoning."
"Come on up here, please," Tate gestured for her to join them. "I want all three of you to line up facing the class. Put your wand where you normally store it." "yay! okay!" she laughed happily as she skipped up to the front of the classroom. she stood next to the other students and smiled at the class. there were a lot of them. she put her wand in her pocket and then popped her fingers as she waited for her instructions.

Evelyn couldn't help but stare with wide eyes at the whole, interruption, disturbing, mind scarring incident. SHE was even nervous for what the Headmaster was going to do to the girl. Heck, even considering hiding under her desk. HER! Evelyn! Thinking about, hiding under her desk.
That...was saying something. Glancing towards Destiny for a moment, not really knowing what to do but, stare, the Slytherin slumped down in her sit, holding onto the handle of her wand juuuust in case she needed it. Eesh. But, it seemed the worst was over. Thank Merlin.

The young puff would have volunteered to be apart of the demonstration. She loved to volunteer for things, especially in class. But she had gotten distracted by the crazy firties Griffindors.

Were they crazy!?
Forget the fact that they were hitting on the Headmaster, he's soooo old! They were being extremely disrespectful of the man, and making them look bad in front of the school's guest. Professor Carlton would not be happy about this. Not one bit.
Slowly twirling her wand, she turned her attention to the students who were in the front of the classroom.

There just were no words to describe this weird, stupid event. It was just so...so....well, Vashti was just glad she wasn't a Gryffindor, and she felt extremely sorry for those who were. Negative five or ten points was bad enough, but negative thirty-five? Merlin...
She'd completely forgotten about her notes and ink-soaked quill end, having been distracted by this...incident, and now that the disruptive girl had been sent out, Vashti now realized that the ink from the end of her quill was dripping on her parchment and messing up a few words in her notes. Oh bother. Stupid girl and her stupid point-losingness. Oi.
Okay, and now for demonstration time. Ignoring her parchment for now, Vashti turned her attention to what was happening that was actually class-related.

Trixie watched intently, glancing across all 3 students, two whom did not posses a holster and the one that did. It wasn't hard to tell which one could certainly draw their wand out quicker, easier and more efficiently. It was WHY she had a holster in the first place. Besides you haven't got a lot of time to think when facing any danger of some sort. You have to be more efficient to succeed.
"Most definitely the student with the Holster SHOULD have drawn it out quicker" Trixie said after raising her arm high. She would have said the students name had she ever met them before. "The students without one had to struggle through their pockets first before removing their wands. The Holster makes for a much more sufficient grab, pulling it straight out and also not causing any damage" she informed him after wincing at the stray spell. "However in THIS case it appears that the Hufflepuff got there first" Maybe that was because he was the one concentrating the most.

Ella couldn't even believe what she was seeing from that freaky girl. For her to just waltz in here and be all freaky to the HEADMASTER, it was just like.. whuuut? Did she want to get a one way ticket to being expelled? Hmm... Even if the girl wasn't in her house, it still annoyed her. Like LOADS.
Whatever. At least she'd been kicked out now. With her notes up to date, Ella wated as the three volunteers went to the front of the classroom for the demonstration-type-thing. She raised her hand as it began,
"The one with the Holster." She said with a nod.
