CoMC Lesson #3 - Craft a Creature! The weather is wonderful, almost as wonderful as in Mexico, and Maya might even look a bit happier for it...you could say, not so strict. Maybe. As you head down towards the lesson area, you notice the bonfire is nowhere to be seen - it being daylight and much warmer and all that - but the logs that make up the benches are ready for you to sit on them. You might also notice that Professor Saylen has not arrived yet...which could make you wonder, was the lesson supposed to start today? Are you early, perhaps? Or maybe you are so very late! :whaa: Stick around and find out, or leave, it's your choice. But please don't throw a riot. Just sit down and...'relax'. OOC: The lesson will start in a couple of hours - around 6pm EST - so feel free to let your characters arrive, settle down and maybe have a little chat with friends and soon to be friends. Just don't spam the place. Ta! |
Vashti was a little apprehensive about going to this class, considering the last time. Those Acromantulas still haunted her dreams sometimes. Freaky little things. Hopefully they'd be learning about something less...terrifying today. It was during the day, so that was a good sign right? What wasn't a good sign was how empty the area for the lesson was. Was she too early? Had everyone been scared away from this class thanks to the previous lesson? But the professor wasn't there either... Vashti hesitantly took a seat at one of the benches, looking around and hoping she wouldn't be sitting there alone for too long. |
This was a nice day. A good one. And Josh was feeling all cheerful and energetic as usual. So with his oh-so-happy-and-confident attitude he walked to the place where the creatures lesson thing was going to be held only to find a Ravenclaw girl sitting there alone. Hmm. He was sure that he was not late then he was early. Very interesting! Josh Carter appearing early in a class. This was not something everyone could witness so the Gryffindor boy decided to let this Ravie girl enjoy it. Quote:

"No, I have no idea," she told the Gryffindor, raising an eyebrow as she watched him randomly throw his bag somewhere. Weren't there books in there? That was no way to treat a book, even they were |
Rene walked up to the other classmates who had managed to get to class. The rest were probably dreading this class after the spider attack last class. She waved high to the GRYFFINDOR and RAVENCLAW that had took sit. "Hello, this cannot be all. I bet you everyone is waiting to the last minute to get to class. There probably scared from last class. You know the spiders." she said and gave a laugh under her breathe. She took a seat and got ready for the profeesor to start the class. |

Then he walked to the side where he thought the Professor would be once she arrived, facing the whole class. ''And, i, Joshua Carter, is the professor who will teach this lesson today. Yes, you heard it right.'' he said and took his wand of ''Today, students or the student, we will be learning about sneaky pink snakes'' Quote:

This walk was taking forever. Mmhmm, yea. This one. This one from the Slytherin common room, alllll the way down to the grounds, was taking forever. Well, she supposed she could always roll down the hill like that one time, but she didn't want to mess up her clean clothes at the moment...so that was ruled out. However, when she only spotted three other people near where the class would be, Evelyn slowed her pace down for a moment. What? Was she taking so long that..she missed class? The professor wasn't even there! Quote:
With a smirk slightly evident on her face, the Slytherin continued forward, her gaze settling on the younger girl for a moment before switching over to Josh. Teehee! Josh! "Hey you...Professor Carter?" she smiled, giving him a quick kiss on the cheek before moving to his side. Interrupting much? Perhaps! "Can I be your assistant?" Snakes were her specialty! Hmm, yes, focus on Josh. Not that person who spoke of spiders. Pfft. Spiders...she wasn't scared of them. |

Whaaaat...? A student was teaching the class today? This wasn't completely surprising to Vashti - she vaguely remembered it had happened once in her first year - but that class hadn't had to do with, well, magical creatures. Dangerous magical creatures. She wasn't sure which was worse - facing the Acromantulas or facing some other potentially dangerous creature with a fellow student teaching her about said potentially dangerous creature. Dear Merlin, help her. |
Simon had been running a little behind schedule for class so he was certain that he wouldn't be one of the first to arrive which was commonly the case. But what he didn't figure on was Josh's presence already there since his best friend usually wasn't even close to the first ones to class. Spotting no professor in the class, the boy simply moved further inside, coming up behind the other Gryffindor boy, raising his eyebrow as he heard what his friend was claiming to their housemate as well as what Evelyn had said. "Oh really?" he asked making his presence known, a friendly teasing smirk upon his face. "I must have woken up in an alternate world today then." |

There his girl had just arrived and the moment Professor Josh Carter saw her a HUGE smile appeared on his face. He bowed at the Slytherin girl when she saluted him as Professor Carter. Hehe. Professor Carter was funny. And for a second he felt like he was the happiest person on Earth. Yes, he was the happiest person and the happiest professor on Earth. ''Sure Miss Flores.'' he replied grinning at her. Then he turned to face the rrest of class ''HEY EVERYONE!'' he yelled which was unnecessary since the class was not noisy but hey who cared? ''MEET MISS FLORES. MY ASSISTANT FOR TODAY'S LESSON'' Quote:

Eino made his all the way down to the grounds and out of the castle, and after a wearisome trip he finally reached the classroom, or where class was to take place. Although the Ravenclaw tower had a beautiful view of the grounds, it was a lot less beautiful walking all the way down from the seventh floor, and the weather didn't help. He was sweaty, hot, and felt really uncomfortable, all he wanted to do was jump in the lake and go for a swim. The log seats only worsened the situation; this was not a good start. He sat down and looked around but the Professor was no where near, so he patiently waited for class to start. |
Melanie stood casually just a few feet from the benches with a quizzical look on her face. She could have sworn there was a lesson today. Maybe it was a different type of lesson? Maybe they were supposed to learn by themselves somehow? ...Or not. Her eyebrows drew in as she eyed the Gryffindor boy who claimed to be their temporary professor. No one told her about that sooo, Melanie decided to go with the flow. Shrugging, she seated herself on one of the log benches and rested her head on her fist. Without much else to do, Melanie waited for the class to begin. |

"Well then Professor Carter..." Simon started to say, using the title Josh had given himself for the duration or at least the moment. "Its a good thing for us Gryffindors that the House Hourglasses don't respond to students but rather actual staff," he added taking a nearby seat but not because of his friend's order. His bag of supplies placed casually to the floor beside his bench ready if needed during class. "You're welcome to try and teach though...just no using my notes," he finished rememebering how Josh had borrowed them for the last classes homework. |

Hmm... Hmm... With an air of authority Josh eyed the other Gryffindor boy as he spoke ''Of course i am from the actual staff, Mr Bennett'' he said slightly grinning at his friend. Haha. He quite much liked his goody-goody friend's smart words yet they were not going to work today. ''I suppose you have missed the part that i announced what i am going to teach. It is a subject that i am an expert at so i will be needing no notes'' Actually that was a lie. Maybe not while teaching in that class but it was true that he needed Simon's notes for the final exams. Hah. Of course he was going to find a way to take them all from him. |
Alice arrived, not surprised at the lack of bonfire because it was definitely nice enough to stay outside without one. She took a seat at one of the logs, surprised to see that Professor Saylen wasn't here yet, but not too concerned. She would be here eventually. After the excitement they experienced last lesson (nearly being eaten by acromantulas and putting their ability to survive in dangerous situations to test) Alice wondered if today's lesson would be a little more...er...calm? Not that she minded the excitement, but she figured it wouldn't be safe to go into the Forbidden Forest again for a little while. |
Kurumi entered the classroom just in time to see Josh acting like the professor and she tried her best to swallow her laughter. He was probably going to be fed to the spiders if he kept it up, but it was rather funny. Finding an empty log to sit, Kurumi flopped herself down and decided to read through her notes and textbook. Her mind began to wander back to Chibi from their first Care of Magical Creatures class. I wonder if he misses me.... |
"Its a beautiful day!...." :music: Singing the popular tune to himself, he strolled towards COMC grounds, never having felt better attending this class since..... well since the first time he thought it was a petting zoo. Likely he was still most wary, but who could be such a gloomy gus on a day like this? He got to the class seeing Evelyn and the popping Gryffindor-- conduct a class? Eh?.. is Smexy Saylen sick on a gorgeous day like this? And what did he say his name was... Carter? He remembered meeting a Carter-- ate too much potatoes, although Salander remembered that fellow was a blond. This was the Gryffindor who suddenly popped up next to him sitting a little too close for comfort. He'd rather sit next to another Gryffindor-- or rather Gryffindor's red-headed guest :eyebrows: He spotted young Alice and decided to share the bench with her, giving a quick wave to Kurumi who was on the next bench over, then to Melanie, and suddenly regretted it. Didnt he have a mark on his head from her? Yes better not to ruffle this puff. He wants to make it till the end of the term in one piece y'know? "Hey there Alice!" the Slytherin lad greeted the young blond as he took the spot just where the sunshine was filtering through. "Is this guy serious, he's gonna be conducting the class?" Because if he will.... |

"Actually I did in fact hear the topic for today's class," Simon replied thinking of the correct term to use in his comeback to be quick witted about it. "She-snakes....derived from the latin words, Feminus Slytherin," he added with a small smirk at his friend, his arms loosely crossed in front of him as he watched the rest of the growing class react to Josh. |
Carrying a rather large cardboard box alone, because really, one has ARMS to use, Maya walked from her cottage down to the lesson hoping the class was already assembled. She had a...surprise for the students, but whether or not they would like it, she wouldn't be bothered with it. Quote:
"Anyone else want to loose points?" She was actually kidding, and had a small smile on her lips as she finally scanned the area...with all the kiddos. "We will wait five more minutes before class starts." Yes indeed. OOC: Class will start soooooooon! Get yer character's behinds on those logs ;D ...or something. |
Dillon stifled a yawn as he stumbled across the grounds. He wasn't sure why he was so tired, but he was and this was seriously cutting into his nap time. He rubbed his eyes for the hundredth time as he finally spotted the CoMC log fest. He was happy they weren't venturing into the Forest again in search of giant, Diggy eating spiders. The tear stained letter he sent to his mother helped. He ambled over and glanced around for a place to park himself. There were a few vacant logs and he plopped down on the nearest one eying Salander as he did. He was still a bit sore over that carpet crash Salander caused a few days ago. |

Snickering, the Slytherin crossed her arms and stared at the class. THAT'S RIGHT! Teacher's And oh look! Cookie girl was here. Mwahahaha! And look, Josh's friend. Simon. "Well if you want to learn about she-snakes, why don't you hang out with us?" Could learn a lot. Of course, she wasn’t being mean or anything. Teehee. Mean to Simon? Pssh. Noo. Quote:
And look…it was the…professor… MEEP! Cringing slightly, the Slytherin glanced towards Josh before quickly making her way to a seat on one of the benches. Right. Pfft, taking five points from him. She thought he was a rather good teacher. Lawson didn’t take points from them for impersonating a teacher in Muggle Studies class! |
Last creatures lesson of the term? No way this young puff was gonna miss it. Hair flowing behind her as she ran!skipped down to the lesson area, eyes examining it as she moved closer. Just a box. Hmm. What could be in the box, she didn't know. Probably not puppies. Or kittens. Hmm. Arya sent a big grin the professors way as she made her way to the front of class and plopped down on her usual bench, running her hand through her hair as she stared at the box. |

The Gryffindor had been pretending to be the replacement professor! That made sense! And here was the real thing! Melanie shook her back and forth seriously as the professor asked if anyone else wanted to lose points... Cause' she didn't. Losing points was no fun. Mysterious boxes, though... They were fun. Melanie couldn't help but wonder what was inside. She kept an eye on it, like she expected some sort of creature to pop out of it at any moment. The girl's eyebrows went up as she realized there was sound coming from within. |
HAHAHAHAHAHA Josh = Epic Fail!Win. xD Fletcher sneaked into class, behind Professor Saylen and hopefully just before he would be declared tardy. He blinked as she seemed to be taking away five points from the Gryffindorks for no... reason? but shrugged it off and took a seat by Melanie. Hopefully there would be no dumb dugbogs today... or giant freaky spiders..... Fletcher didn't say anything or do anything 'cept for nodding at Salander and nudging Mel with a LOOK toward the professor's noisy box. Noisy boxes!!!! |
