CoMC Lesson #2 - Acromantulas 1 The sun is setting and soon the grounds will be bathing in the half-moonlight. Oh, did Professor Saylen forget to mention that about half of the lesson would be conducted in semi-darkness? Well, too bad. For you. Maybe you should've re-read the announcement. The weather is still rather cold at this time of year, so you'd better have some warm clothes on, and a hat plus mittens, perhaps. There's a bonfire in the middle of the area, where the classes are held, which will keep you warm as you sit around it on the log benches. So, come on, take a seat and wait for the class to start - Professor Saylen is pacing around with a bluebell flame in the palm of her hand, waiting for the arrival of...students. OOC: Sure, sure, chat a little, why don't you? Just don't go overboard. Seriously. |
Evelyn had been walking like a normal sane human being down to the grounds, wrapping her slytherin green jacket tighter around herself as she tugged her slytherin scarf a little more around her neck as well to keep the chilly air out. And, she was going to mention to Destiny something about the Professor and bowtruckles, but… That’s when she saw the big bon fire like thing down at where the class was being held. It was big. And fire-y… Which is why she was SPRINTING to the class now! RUUUUN! RUN TO THE FIRE! |
Urrghhhhh. Saylen. Sarah didn't really like her. Not after the cheery conversation they'd had during the first task. So it was sort of a shame that she liked this subject so much. Ahh well, grin and bear it. And no bad language. Check. Scarf wrapped around her neck, and winter cloak firmly in place, Sarah fiddled with her gloves as she made her way down to the clearing for the lesson. She was one of the first here? Greaaaattttt. Sigh. "Hellooo, Professor," she smiled, eyeing the woman and the flame in her hand. Deciding that would be it as far as conversation went, Sarah moved over to the benches and sat down, leaning forward to warm her cold nose near the fire. |
The time was so not convinient for Louisa. It was almost DARK! And she really didn't like being in the middle of a dark place... no matter how many people were around. However, the bonfire was big enough to make the class look less creepy. She took one glance at the pacing Professor and with a nod and a sliiiiight smile she sat rubbing her hands together. She should've worn her woolen gloves she made in Transfiguration lesson that day. |
Carter headed down to the Care of Magical Creatures lesson. Did it really have to take place in the freezing cold or winter at night. He normally wasn't one to complain, but it was super cold at the moment. "Hello Professor." Carter said. He was pretty sure the greeting was muffled by his scarf though. He then took a seat by the fire. Now, what was this lesson about? The announcement made it sound spider-y. |

Rolling her eyes at the annoying quiet, she busied herself with adjusting the hat that was on her head..until Evelyn started running! SWEET MERLIN, the fire was spotted! "Evelyn, NO!" she called out, but that was no use, her friend was almost at the fire and.. "Don't you DARE hug that fire!" Gah! And people that she was the crazy one! With one hand holding onto her hat, so it wouldn't fall off, Destiny took off running towards her friend. She would tackle if need be. |

Kurumi nervously made her way into the classroom bundled up to the point where it was difficult for her to move. She sat down next to the bonfire and looked down at her shoes hoping that they would be strong enough for whatever magical creature they were dealing with this time. Kurumi had hoped to see the same mystery box that Chibi had been in, but no such luck. She wondered how her little friend was doing...maybe he wanted to nibble on her finger again? She looked up and saw the professor holding a blue flame in her hands. Woah...was this like Howl's Moving Castle and they were going to get to play with fire demons?! She was going to name her fire Calcifer! "Good evening, professor," Kurumi said through chattering teeth. She zipped up her jacket a bit more and adjusted her white knit hat. |
They were having class...outside... during and after sunset? The sunset was nice and pretty and all, but it would be dark afterwards. Which was going to be rather creepy, at least to Vashti, even if they had a nice, warm bonfire going. What kind of creature could they be learning about today? Hopefully nothing scary, creepy, or both of those combined. "Good evening, Professor," the Ravenclaw greeted the pacing professor - oh Merlin, pacing was never good, was it? - before taking a seat by her friend Louisa. |
"Hi Professor Saylen," Alice said with a smile as she approached the bonfire. She was decked out from head to toe in her jacket, jeans, gloves, and hat. Alice was excited for the lesson, especially since half of it was going to be in the semi-darkness. She just loved nights on the grounds. |

The Blonde grinned as she walked straight on in, she didn't mind CoMC though admittingly it wasn't her best subject according to her OWL results but still, that was no excuse for her not to love it now was it? "Hello Professor, how are you?" the sixteen year old grinned as she walked through the grounds and straight towards the formation of seats, glancing around at who was already in the lesson. Not many at the moment, very few she knew. The Blonde shot a grin over at Vashti before her eyes fell upon Sarah. Hehe. The Slytherin walked over "Is this seat taken?" she asked with a grin before sitting next to her anyway despite not hearing her answer. It was a good job the girl had bought her scarf because it was really rather cold outside. Though that bonfire was rather pleasant. |

NO WHAT?! Could Destiny not see the glorious sight in front of her!? This was like, the biggest bon fire she’d ever seen at the school! Yes, at the school. She was not going to remember the fire she accidentally started at her home. That was…scary. "Noooooooo!" Pfft, of course she wasn’t going to hug it! Only crazy people would HUG fire. However, if there was indeed a fire that she could hug without being burned, then she would. But, she was almost to the amazing warmth of the powerful flames! Just look at the color. Yellows, reds, little bit of blue, the searing white…it was so beautiful! Wait, wait no. CRUD! They were running down a hill! Stooooop! Gotta stop! |
CARE OF MAGICAL CREATURES! WOOOP! How Oliver did LOVE this class. With his hoodie pulled up around his face, three jumpers, his Slytherin scarf plus gloves to keep him warm, he bounded his way eagerly towards the fire where a group of kids was forming. He smiled broadly at Saylen. “Hola, Professor.” He greeted the woman in what was supposed to be Spanish. Um.. she was Mexican, right? Meh. He wrapped his arms around himself --Brrrr...-- and went to find somewhere to sit. |

She couldn't worry about that, though, for Evelyn was not stopping and now she was yelling? Scoff! Wait..Why was Destiny chasing her in the first place? If Evelyn wanted to hug the fire and burn to a crisp, let her! It wasn't like crispiness was contagious or anything. "Fine! Hug the fire, I don't care!" she called out, and tried to slow down her run..but it was hard. No, not hard, IMPOSSIBLE! "Evelynnnn!" her voice turned into a whine, and before she knew it, she slammed right into her friend. Seems Destiny runs faster than Evelyn now.. |
Treyen walked as much as he could before...er, entering the area, not the classroom, with the bonfire. Fire! Pretty flames. Sigh. Pretty. "Hey there, Professor" he said, with a nod, and went over to sit and staaare at the bonfire. It would be hard to focus around the fire, yes. Especially with the two Slytherins running around. The Chicken and the Giraffe. |

STOP! Stop stop stop stop- "OOMPH!" Evelyn had not heard Destiny calling her name, since she was too focused in trying to make her feet stop running forward towards the enormous FIRE, but she did notice when her friend slammed into her. ACK! Since her feet were moving quickly as it was, she couldn’t keep up her balance! NOOOO! AHHHHH! Tumbling down the hill didn’t feel good! Ahhhh! |

Allright, they didn't need to be that quiet right now...so, okay. But still, why were those girls being all LOUD? Hug the fire? Squint. Maya would like to see her try. "Ladies!" Roarrr. "Calm yourselves! This is not a-" Oh, lookit, they were rolling down towards the lesson. Sigh. "... playground. Sit down, class will start soon." Pshhhhhhhhhhh. Quote:

Lockhart boy. Smirk. "Good Evening, Mister Lockhart." Smiiiirk. Hm, was his sister coming to this class too? Maybe she could help keep him in check. Hehe. "Class will start in a couple of minutes." Straggling students still had time to arrive... |

"Evening Professor." She called brightly and held up her two fingers, giving the Professor the peace sign as she passed by her. Now where to sit? Definitely not next to the two crazy Slytherins who seemed to be chasing each other around and talking about hugging the fire. And people said she was weird. She spotted Carter and gave him a small wave before sitting down next to the Head Boy. Mia had never spoken to him before and figured there was a first time for everything. "Hello Oliver." She greeted him with a bright smile. "You feeling the cold too?" |
She had to be totally crazy to have class when it was freezing outside and when he finally made it over to the warm bonfire and saw Professor Saylen prancing around it confirmed that she was indeed crazy. He was wrapped up in his cloak with his now extra long scarf and his green mittens and he was still shivering. This was not going to make a very happy Dillon Greenwood. He quickly found a log to sit on and he sat down trying to inch closer to the bonfire and warm himself. |
Only one post for me I'm afraid. *pokes the timezones* Night. x Quote:
Wait.. he didn't actually know this little chick, did he? Sure he'd seen her around in classes and what not but that was as far as the acquaintanceship went. “Hey, what's your name?” He asked her, rubbing his hands together in an attempt to keep them warm. Seriously, when did it get SO cold!? He spotted Diggy not too far away and grinned and waved at the kid. |

Destiny had thought by slamming into Evelyn, she would have just stopped running. What she did not expect was for her friend to go flying forward, causing the BOTH of them to go rolling down the bloody hill. Gah! How far were they up the hill? It seemed like they were rolling forever, and by how many times a stick and rock poked her, it FELT like they were rolling forever. Between her oomphs and ouches, she thought she heard the Professor.. That meant they were close..right? Quote:
With the rolling finally slowing down, Destiny could hear the Professor loud and clear. Probably because she had rolled right in front of the woman, but that was not that mattered. The woman had told her and Evelyn to sit down, so that was what she was going to do. Right there. On the ground. Next to Evelyn. The same Evelyn who had some sort of thing in her hair. Reaching over, she plucked the thing out and held it up. "Look! I found a mushroom." |
Quote:
Alice reached her hands out a little bit, letting her gloves soak in some of the warmth from the fire, before scooting back to her original position on the log. Alice looked up at all the stars...it really was beautiful out tonight. |
Quote:
Who was shouting at them? Where was the sky? Up? Down? Rock? Twig? Well no, she knew what was the rock and twigs on the ground, and something squishy that her head landed on that was hard at the same time and she sooooooo didn’t want to know what it was, but she was utterly, confused. And in shock…as she tumbled down the hill, Destiny bumping into her every other second. Quote:
On her back. On the ground, there. To the side of the fire, and in front of the professor. oowwww... Breathing heavily, the Slytherin laid there for a moment, her bag laying halfway on her stomach and her eyes staring at the big fire. So BIG! And FIRE-Y! That is, before her eyes flickered over to the Professor SaySomething and Destiny. WHAT?! She found a mushroom in her hair!? DO'NTOUCHERHAIR! "...you have dirt on your face." |
Aww night Katie! Quote:
At first she had thought the snow was really pretty. She had never seen snow before. And quite frankly she hoped never to again but it seemed that was going to be unlikely. She laughed again wondering when he was going to ask that question. "Mia." She said holding out her hand to him, "Mia Gibbins. It's nice to finally meet you Oliver." Of course she knew what his name was. He was the Head Boy. Everyone knew who he was. |
