There it is, the darkest forest on these grounds, a place where you have been forbidden to be near.. Yet, this is where we will enter for this class. It is cold and eerie, not to mention you cannot see what is inside – and you won't be able to see out, if you're too far in. Professor Saylen leads the convoy, the path lit only by her blueball flame in her hand, and her trusty wand in her other. Thankfully, the moon is bright enough to aide the class.
Follow her and keep close to eachother – but do not make any noise or lit your wands! It could cost you your life, and Maya isn't sure she wants to put effort into saving it.
OOC: The quest to find the Acromanutlas will begin soon (when I get back online). Have your charrie arrive at the edge of the forest, and soon Maya will announce that they all can start making their way inside.
Ofcourse, you can still join the expedition even if you have not participated in the first part of the lesson, here. Just act as if you've been here the whole time ; )
And feel free to chat with your fellow students - just be gentle.

Kurumi's entire body shivered as she stood at the edge of the forest. She wasn't sure how she should be feeling now, but she did secretly hope that she would get the chance to try the spell...maybe only little friendly Acromanutlas would be out tonight?

Evelyn practically ran to the Professor's side.
You know, to help with stuff. Yea, she was helping...with stuff.
She was helping to make sure she didn't scream and run away and totally make all the acromantulas attack them. By being RIGHT NEXT TO the professor. Right there.
Would she mind of the Slytherin clinged to her arm or something? It would be rather weird and awkward, sure, but the fourth year didn't care at the moment. The Professor had experience with these creatures, so obviously she was the safest place to be!
Right? The....the professor...she wasn't going to push Evelyn away or anything right? Into a pile of those monsters? EEP!

Sophia was going to freak out on the inside. She was claustraphobic and arachnaphobic. GREAT! She ran up next to Kurmuri. Maybe Kurmuri could ease her nerves. "I am scared." she said, quietly to the girl.

Salander dallied around the edge of the Forest, now devoid of his suit of armour and feeling not as chipper as he did when he had it. At least Potter had a car to back him up the lad though as he looked at the lonely wand in his hand, the only thing that comes between himself and being spidey appetizer. Or desert, if he found himself trailing behind the movable feast that was this class.
He saw Evelyn nearly cling onto the Professor like a backpack. Would he want to be that close up front? Then again the Professor was the most experienced one when dealing with these creatures and she had the only light source available.
Yes, make like a backpack. Maybe Evelyn's backpack.

Fee walked to the forbidden forest. Close to her class mates because she was really scared. Spiders, actrumantulas were disgusting. Hairy and disgusting.

Sophia saw Fee and motioned for her to come over. She really didn't want to see the giant spiders. She was horrified of them. She felt like she was gonna throw up, and she probably looked like that too.

They were really going to do this, weren't they? They were really going into the Forbidden Forest to look for a colony of gigantic spiders.
Yippee. (Not.)
Moving towards the edge of the forest where everyone was, Vashti stuck as closely to Louisa as she could without actually clinging to the girl or making it too uncomfortable, because even though her friend was just a first year, Vashti felt safer if she had someone close by her. That way, in case she froze up when if they saw an Acromantula, then she had someone to cast the Arania Exumai spell for her, and vice versa. See, everything was just better when you had a partner to back you up.

Oliver was aware of his sentence getting gradually quieter and more hesitant and slow as Professor Saylen frowned and looked at him like he was asking something completely mental. His mouth curled downwards into a small pout when she said in so many words that, no, he could not hold the tarantula.
Pfft.. Like, whateverrr.
But he soon cheered again when it came to zapping toy spiders. This was well fun.. and after two or three more attempts resulting in nowt but spider fluff, he eventually managed to make the fluffy creature shoot backwards like it was supposed to and not explode into dust.
Hearing Diggy, he grinned, chuffed that the lad saw him as an asset with his rather erratic magic. As they began to make their way towards the Forbidden Forest he caught up with the lad who was clearly terrified by the prospect of meeting the Acromantula. “Hey.. there's nothing to worry about you know? Professor Saylen might be a little weird but she's not gonna let any of us become spider food.” He twirled his wand in his fingers and smiled. “But I'll stick with you, man, if you want me to.” He patted the smaller boy on the shoulder reasuringly. Yeah, cos family stuck together, right?
Diggy was scared of a lot of things and two of them were spiders and the dark and lucky for him they going to into a very dark forest looking for giant spiders. This just wasn't his day. And care of magical creatures was one of his favorite classes.
He was walking by himself trying not to let his fear show, but he was starting to shake a little. He nearly jumped out of his smooth, brown skin when Oliver walked up to him and started talking. "Oh Merlin Oliver." Diggy said holding his hand to his chest trying to catch his breath. As soon as Oliver spoke the words and sidled up to his uncle and he had to keep himself from grabbing his hand and holding on for dear life. "Thanks Oliver." he said looking up at his uncle. Diggy was going to stick to him like glue.

Alice walked her way over to the edge of the forrest, rubbing her gloved hands together and missing the warmth of the fire. All there was for lighting was the blue flame with Professor Saylen and the moon, which added to the excitement. Well, at least she personally thought it did.
"Are you ready for this?" Alice asked pleasantly, giving him an encouraging smack on the shoulder.

Grayson had shoved her iridescent spider toy into the pocket of her parka as soon as Professor Saylen had said they could keep them. She didn't see why the little things would cause a problem, and she wasn't about to throw it at an advancing acromantula. That would defy the whole purpose of keeping it, not to mention even she knew it wouldn't stop the creatures attacking. her excitement was still way up, though, as she almost bounced to the edge of the forest behind the professor and her bluebell flame.
Bounced right to Salander's side, actually, and she looked up at him once she'd stopped. "Y'know, the armor wouldn't have helped anyway," she said, trying to make him feel better. In a really odd way. About the only thing you could do against an acromantula was run. Full speed, and hope you managed to get enough of a head start to get away. Since she doubted there were still feral cars in the forest to come to their rescue. Not to mention they'd need a feral school bus, for the whole class to fit.

Simon followed the rest of the class once they left the relative safety and warmth of the fire. The edge of the Forbidden Forest looming in front of them, the tall dark trees and undergrowth doing their best to look both forbidden and foreboding.
Just remember what we learned and listen to the professor, he reminded himself as he kept with the group. No need for anyone to be separated even without the eerie nature of their task.

While some Slytherin girl claimed one side of the professor, Arya claimed the other. Coming to a sliding halt, and almost colliding with the woman when she did. She did not not NOT wanna go back into the forest. Especially not to look for an Acromanutla. Or hundreds of Acromanutlas.
But atleast she would be safe at Saylen's side, right? Right. The professor wouldn't let anything happen to them while in the forest, else she wouldn't be taking them into it in the first place. She would keep her safe.
That...didn't dilute any of her anxiety though, and it showed in her eyes.
Just a little though.
Arya tugged nervously on the brim of her beanie, wand gripped tight in her right hand as she peered nervously into the forest.

Carter followed slowly into the forbidden forest. Why were they in here so late? He held his wand in front of him. It was so dark in here.
Too bad Mina wasn't here. She'd love to be here. He looked around wondering if there was someone to distract him from all the 'eerie' who looked a little nervous. Maybe they wanted a forest buddy or something.

Alice smiled sympathetically at Salander. "You'll be alright, spiders really aren't that bad. As you long as you stay aware you should be able to keep an upper hand on the situation!" Alice said encouragingly. She gave Salander another smack on the back to show her confidence in him.
"Err...sorry to be hitting you so much. Guess where I live it's common to smack someone on the back to show your confidence and encouragement. Sorry if I hurt you at all..."
Alice was excited, but at the same time feeling a bit cautious. After all you didn't want to just ram into an acromantula unprepared.

Ehhh.
Destiny did not want to be in the Forbidden Forest. It was forbidden for a reason! Sure, she'd be able to find SPIDERS and all, but why did they have to go into the forest to find them? They could just as well go up to the Muggle Studies Professor and find spiders. She was sure that man hid spiders in his hair.
What? He taught Muggle Studies. Muggles were weird, she didn't know what they did to their hair.
Catching up to Evelyn, Destiny snickered as she noticed how close her friend was to the Professor. Pulling out the stuffed spider that she had stuffed down the front of her robes earlier, she dropped it right on top of her friend's head.
"There is a spider on your head!!"

Making him feel better about the acromantula issue, and then she nodded at what the other girl had said about spiders. "Spiders aren't bad. They're just, well, kinda like bugs," she said. Okay, arachnids, and someone who really liked bugs would say there was a difference, but that wouldn't help right now. "We'll all go in together, and even if anything happens, there's enough of us to be able to escape, right?" A dozen castings of Arania Exumai had to be better than just one.
But then back to what he had actually said to her. "Mmmm," she said, scrunching up her face. "I think so. But I'd think you'd rather be able to run away. Than let the spider crunch on the armor 'cause you had so much weight you couldn't get away." Since when was she the logic person? She was the go-all-in-and-figure-out-how-to-escape person. The one who flung herself down staircases, climbed to the top of the giant tree like a monkey and planted potions in juice at balls and inadvertently made Mr. Masterson babble about pie. Not the logic person. Maybe they just needed to get into the forest, and then they could deal with what happened then. Hopefully Professor Saylen wouldn't really abandon them to fend for themselves.

Emmy walked nervously behind the professor, trying to move closer to Treyen and Patroclus.
She gazed out into the blackness of the Forbidden Forest, imagining Dark creatures of all shapes and sizes - not just Acromantula, but centaurs, werewolves, and giants, and great nameless terrors...
To her horror, she realised she was straying towards the edge of the path. Concentrate, Emelia! She chastised herself, Do you want to be chewed and mauled and maimed?! Stay near Saylen and your friends...!
So they really were going into the Forbibben Forest, surely there was some law against sending children into a dangerous place. Simon was scared he looked around for Treyen but it didn't seem like he was here yet, he really wanted to run but he decided to put a brave face on, he wasn't going to let anyone know how scared he really was.

Salander tried to muster a gamely smile for Alice and Grayson, squaring his shoulders and looking resolute. "Right, stay aware, keep an upper hand. Gotcha." He chuckled when Alice tried to apologize "No issues. Thats what we do too back in the States."
He was about to nod in agreement with Grayson when he heard Bugs. Dugbogs. Blink. Suddenly he started missing his suit of armour again, his leg feeling that imaginary twitch of fangs biting into flesh....
Breathe. Breathe.Nothings gonna happen..... Nothings gonna happen. Like they said-- stay aware, cast the spell and run like a bat outta hell.
Which was his original plan. But with armour.
"Actually, even if I had a spider on my armour I'll still be running out of the Forest" the lad started to explain to the Ravenclaw blond "...but then once we get to a safe spot I plan to just wrestle-squash it to the ground." Nacho Libre style of course.
He stared at his two legs. One. Two. He looked up, his eyes setting into the dark forest ahead as he made an extreme effort from squeaking when he said "Spider have eight legs right????" which means that unless them wizards and witches can suddenly sprout and extra three pairs of legs, these spiders can outrun them backwards.
"Is that Ford Anglia still in there?"

All of them were peering and whispering at the edge of the Forbidden Forest.
Dianna was careful not to say anything to loud or even speak. As much as she was excited to go hunting for Acromantulas she still had second thoughts into going in the forest itself. Well there was no looking back now..
A path is not simply for walking, its purpose lies in moving forward and improving oneself.
The forbidden forest...oh boy.
Lavi walked with slow steps, very slow steps, towards the edge of the forest. He had never even tried to walk near the forest, let alone go in there! Yes, Lavi was scared and not afraid to show it. As he got nearer his heartbeat intensified , sweat started to covered his neck. He tightly held his wand in his hand with a death grip and as soon he was with the other classmates his eyes shifted from left to right. Wondering when an beast would jump out of the forest and eat them!
