Cass was now really confused with her answer. |

*instigated by Cass's answer* :P At the discussion of fears, and boggarts, and everything, Grayson had lapsed into a bit of a mental tangent about what she thought she feared. And she'd ignored the question posed by Josh, as it hadn't seemed that interesting to her. It wasn't as amusing as Salander's insistence the boggart was the Muggle actor, actually, and that discussion seemed to have paused for now. So she kept quiet, thinking about what she thought the boggart might turn into if she faced it. Until a little Slytherin girl mentioned fearing fear, and her hand instinctively shot up. "Historically, it's mentioned that it was possible Harry Potter's boggart being a dementor meant he feared fear most of all. I don't think anyone would say he didn't fear anything, though. Someone that didn't fear anything would probably be a danger to themselves, even without facing a boggart, anyway. 'Cause they'd get themselves into situations where they should use their fear to be more careful, and wouldn't do so." Maybe she had a bit of that problem, but she didn't think she wasn't afraid of anything. "Boggarts will take the form of whatever they think will affect you most. So I doubt it would really be bothered if you thought you feared nothing." |
"I don't think that is possible Professor." Dianna said as she raised her hand. "I mean everyone even the toughest of the tough has a weak spot, don't they?" she said. It would be awesome to see a fearless person though. If those kind did exist. "Although if their was a kind of person like that then maybe the boggart won't mind him or her at all and just..simply walk..or in other terms float away..." she said with a tone of doubt. Beh, this was a trick question was it? |

Who is this fearless guy??? Ale turned to see Mr. Fearless.. Quote:
"Professor" Alex again raised her hand "as a matter of fact when a person does not have any fear which is unlikely to happen the shape of a Boggart will be its original shape. Or it may happen that it will be in an abstract form. Both is possible. Person may fearless but Boggart may take the form of something that bothers the person the most.." Alex did not know what she was speaking, whether she is making any sense or not but this was it. Alex wanted to suggest something but she did not know whether suggesting anything will be right at this time. "Excuse me professor. Do you mind a suggestion. If we want to see what could happen if the fearless person stands in front of a boggart why not do it practically so that we all could see what happens." Alex said nervously. She did not wanted any attention so she said in very low tone so that only professor could here her. |

Amy raised her hand "well if a person said they fear nothing the bogart might transform into something they were secretly afraid of or something they didn't know they were afraid of, but if they really fear absolutely nothing then the boggart would probably just go away, i guess but a boggart can sense everyones fear even if they don't know what they are"she looked at the lump in the sheet again, were they going to have to face that boggart? |

Fee was sure he would find someone and be happy. The world would be crazy if not. SPOILER!!: Professor Carlton Fee raised her and. "I personally think its not possible to fear nothing. You may think you are fearless but if you face your fear you you cant ignore it. No one is fearless." What would taht boggart look like?! Think Fee.. " I could imagine the boggart to show you yourself as a person that fears everything." |

But what if it was possible, what would the Boggart do?? well that's the question isn't it?an idea came to Lara's mind |

A person who feared nothing? Was that even possible? Surely everyone feared SOMETHING, right? She wasn't sure, but she had another question. "I'm not sure, but Professor... what if somebody feared the concept of the Boggart itself? Do you think it would show its true form then, if the person it was facing feared the idea of a Boggart itself, rather than what the Boggart turns into?" She enquired. She wasn't sure if the question made sense, but it was something she had been wondering. Maybe she should ask Professor Tate; he was the DADA Professor, afterall. |
Viky staaaaaaaaared over at Josh. Feared nothing? Hmm. Viky was pretty sure that was impossible. EVERYONE had at least ONE FEAR. Yeah. She bet she would find something he was scared of... oooh, ooh, she had one! Heh. But she wasn't gonna embarass him and say it in front of the class... ohhh no. She'd tell him some other way.... with a note! She tore a piece of papaer from her notebook and scribbled something down, and then chucked it across the room, aiming for his head. Hahaaa. Now... what was her own fear? Not spiders, they were pretty cool. Granma? She was rather terrifying. The squid? No... oh, it was merepeople! They were just so ODD, and freaky with their slimy little hands and tails. EW. SPOILER!!: NOTE:D |
Text Cut: Replies to everyone! "It's true that no one knows what a boggart looks like when it isn't in our presence. Remember, a boggart only exists as our fear, so if a person was truly fearless, I believe the boggart would just cease to exist," she said, circulating the room again. "It would have nothing to exist for and would therefore be...well, nothing at all." "A fearless person, as I mentioned to some of you, would also have to be a person who neither loved nor cared for any other in this world. Meaning, it wouldn't bother that person at all to see their family and friends in a devastating state," she continued. "I think that each of us has someone or something we care for, and I also think the boggart would seek that out and transform into...some part of it." ==================== "Today, we'll all get a turn to face the boggart and see it transform into that which we fear the most. Before we do that, though, everyone will need to get the incantation and wand movement down pat. Unfortunately, there's no 'fake boggart' to practice on. You'll see if your casting is successful when you finally face the creature," she explained, looking out at the class. With her wand, she guided a piece of chalk to write the following on the board: Quote:
OOC: Just to make sure it's clear, Lexi did not release the real boggart. She'll get to that in a bit, though! It's practice time now! |
Kurumi took out a piece of parchment and wrote down the instructions before taking out her own wand to practice on the invisible boggart in front of her. As she did, she wondered what her boggart would turn into...there were several things swimming around in her head: the scary cookie hating Slytherin girl, the demon she often faced when playing kendo, a giant cockroach...*shiver* She then thought about what the professor had said and a question mark appeared in her brain. "Professor, what would the boggart have turned into for Voldemort?" |
Destiny ^_^ Evelyn had been silent throughout the answers, since her mind was elsewhere. Was was her greatest fear? She knew she had many fears, some of which were kept a secret and others known by people, but what was her greatest fear? They all seemed pretty equal to her. Frowning, her eyes flickered back over to the professor as she said they all will have a turn to face the boggart. It was too bad Evelyn herself couldn't have been fearless. Wouldn't that just be nice. Maybe she could go last in line, and then everyone would take too long and she wouldn't have to face it. Yes, she was chickening out, but for a good reason! Who wanted to go up against their greatest fear?! Strong mind and good concentration she had but, meh. Glancing towards the girl that said something about this class being FUN, Evelyn frowned before turning the other way and looking at Destiny. ... "Riddikulus." she muttered, pointing her wand at her friend. *snicker* "Don't think it works." |
The Prefect took out her wand from it's wrist holster and eyed the instructions on the board. She was dreading seeing her fear right up in her face. And it wasn't going to be an animal or.. a mummy or anything. It was going to be someone dead. She gritted her teeth together and got up. Time to practice? "Riddikulus!" She said, clearly and determinedly pointing in no direction. But nothing happened. She sighed. She couldn't really think of anything funny at the moment. No. Everything was rather sombre. |
Daisy didn't want to face it. She didn't want her greatest fear to actually show itself. She pulled out her wand and it shook just a little. She shook her head and muttered, "Get a grip. You're Daisy Elizabeth Rohdes and you're fabulous." She pointed her wanted and concentrated on making her invisible boggart disappear. "Riddikulus," she said pointing her wand. Of course nothing happened... there wasn't a boggart in sight but she knew what she'd think of to over come her fear. |
Oh god.. Oliver DID NOT want to meet his worst fear face to face. Crap crap crap.. it was going to be some zombie nurse with a giant needle wasn't it? Or that pscycho surgeon with his scalpel from Oliver's childhood nightmares. Oh... crap. He gulped, eyes wide as he listened to Professor Carlton. Everyone was going to see what a horrible coward he was. His Gryffindor side was going to fail him here, he just knew it. Concentrate on something he found funny? Oliver thought he was a born comedian. He could find amusement in the most serious and sombre and depressing situations. It was both a gift and a curse. A gift, because he enjoyed life so much... and a curse because not everyone appreciated him making light of their misfortunes. Shoes, bricks, slaps, fists, etc inevitably came his way. But right now... he couldn't think of anything funny whatsoever. He half heartedly did the wand movement and spoke the incantation. "Riddikulus." Jeez! This wasn't the most fun of lessons was it? The practicing felt a little like walking the Green Mile. :worried: |
Ok... practicing time Reading the board quickly, Salander drew out his wand "Ridiculous." he uttered, pointing his wand haphazardly at the boggart's desk. If the real Humphrey Bogart was around and pointedly call him ridiculous there'd really be something to be afraid of. |
Quote:
She dragged herself over to Oliver. Perhaps for some pity and consolation, arriving just as he said the spell. Well.. he was a happy chappy wasn't he? "I can't think of a single funny thing." Memories of Hogwarts just made her nostalgic and that wasn't quite the emotion they were meant to be going for. Memories of home were just stupid and made her scowly. Fanbloodytastic. "You?" Maybe the King of Comedy would recall something half decent. |

His mouth twisted into a half smile and he shook his head. “I hate lessons like this. Everyone getting to see your worst fear while you descend into nothing but a bag of nerves.” He mumbled. “It's so personal innit? He swallowed and laughed awkwardly. He shook his head. “It's like I have a block.” He tapped the side of his head with his hand as if trying to get his brain to work. Um... funny. God, this was pressure. “What about the day we hid in the branches of the treehouse tree for hours and you turned us green so no one would find us.” He smiled wider. That had been a funny day. "What did you say I looked like again, Gherkin Girl?" Gherkin girl... and there was another hilarous memory. hehe! He and Cam had had some good times. |

Yay!! Finally ,questions time was over Lara was so happy. She was witing for pracice time badly,Lar was about to sleep but now she is full of enthusiasm. Lara strengthened herself up grabbed her wand, cleared her throat and said "Riddikulus!!" Lara wonered what would the Boggart look like....well she knows it's that thing that she's afraid of. Lara kept repeating the incantation as she knew that she needs to practice how to concentrate and be creative to be able to turn the fear into laghter. Well she had some ideas but better choose carefuly, but she was worried about something; what if she couldn't do anything to the Boggart?! well the Professor will help her sor sure but she'll look like an idiot then. "Better forget it now" Lara thought to herself, "back to practicing " |

Instead, she noted down what was written on the board. At least she could pretend to practice. So, standing up, she took a breath and tried to pretend the boggart was in front of her. Even though it was only the occasionally-rattling desk for now. "Riddikulus," she cast, pointing her wand straight at the innocent desk. Maybe she hadn't gotten the concentration thing down, but at least she'd know what to do. And she hoped the boggart wasn't TOO scary. Quote:
