Her mind stopped as she heard her friend giggle lightly. Opening her eyes she saw a Goofy-like man in front of her the thing that made her smile softly. "Good job!" Getting closer to Vashti now without pointing the awkward former scene. "Are..are you okay?" Like were you really scared by the previous boggart? But that wasn't the time to ask such a question so we'll stop at 'are you okay' question. |

"I'll be okay, I guess," she answered softly with a small shrug. "Still just a little freaked out though. I didn't expect the boggart to do something like...like that." Truthfully, she had, but she'd hoped it wouldn't. Why couldn't it have turned into something harmless? Like a bug or something. At least those things weren't emotionally scarring. |
SPOILER!!: love sick josh! Patroclus' breath was stolen from him, as he caught out of the side of his eye, a sight that made his body feel numb; Evelyn Dead. The boy was shocked into stillness, he couldn't move, he could not breath! How could this happen, in the middle of a charms class, a student dead, how, why? They were only fighting Boggarts after all......boggarts...... Patroclus craned his neck from his position in the line, and saw that at the front of the line was Josh..... A feeling of intense dislike, filled Patroclus' stomach, but then it gave way to relief.....she wasn't dead......just dead to him. |
Post #1 As it got to Iris' turn to face the Boggart, Iris stepped forwards; slowly. She took her wand out of its holster, not really sure of if she wanted to do this or not. Could she not just leave the class now? Eh, probably not. What would the boggart even be though, really? Iris didn't even know what she was scared of most. There were too many fears tucked up in her head. How would the boggart know which one to turn into? Maybe it'd just get so confused from how many fears she had and wouldn't be able to transfigure into anything at all. Pfft. Fat chance of that happening. Clutching her wand a little tighter, Iris tried to think of the happiest memory that she could, whilst Professor Carlton released the Boggart - but again, Iris was stuck with the same problem. There were just as many happy memories as fears. She didn't know which one was the happiest because there were four or five that came to mind instantly when the prefect tried to find the happiest one. So she decided, there and then, that she'd focus on which ever memory was most relevant to the form in which the Boggart took on. Which... could prove to be tricky. Iris stood there, pale, as she watched the Boggart change. For a moment, the girl was suprised because of how similar her Boggart was to Josh's (or, at least the boggart that she saw. She never saw the man before the boggart turned into Evelyn.). The boggart had turned into her dad. On the floor, curled up in the foetal position. Looking (and smelling) quite dead. The pretty blonde girl just started at the boggart, with a blank face. How, in the name of Merlin was she supposed to make THAT into something comical? It was impossible! Iris choked on her own breath a teeny bit, staring down at the dead form of her father. The man who'd just walked out of her life three and a half years before. She didn't care about him. He'd abandoned her. So why was the boggart him? As if the Boggart could read her mind, it started to flicker and change form. To her, it looked like there was a LOT of water. Far too much water to be in a classroom. Iris didn't like it. She took a step away from the boggart!water as it stretched out closer to her, almost touching her feet. Then, when she looked up, Iris was even more suprised (and scared) to see what was in the middle of the boggart!water. It was Aaron, clinging on to a broomstick. It looked like he was drowning, and it looked like he was far away. Far too far away for her to save him, or even help him. And he was drowning. Aaron was drowing. In Iris' mind, that wasn't the boggart playing with her. It was Aaron. Her Aaron. Drowning, because his broom had gone awol... |
Post 1 Mia was slightly horrified at all the things she was seeing in front of her. Her fellow students really had some things to fear especially the girl who had gone before her. There was a dead person lying on the floor and Mia's eyes widened and immediately felt sick. She didn't know if she could do this. She had no idea what the boggart would turn into when it was her turn. Mia was pretty much scared of a lot of things but she didn't know what she truly feared. As she stepped forward to take her turn, Mia held her wand tightly in her hand waiting for the boggart to make its appearance. She really didn't know why she was holding her wand so tight, she still didn't think she would be able to pull the charm off anyway. And then the boggart was released and Mia watched with fascinated horror as it began to change and it grew to the size of something that looked to be over six feet tall and as the features began to take shape, Mia backed up a little. As the features sharpened and the boggart had finally finished its transformation, Mia let out a horrified gasp. It was...Headmaster Ztinik!!! Apparently her bet with Nikolai was weighing on Mia's mind more than she had first thought. She truly feared having to hug the man. |
Post 1 "Oh my Oh my" was the only thing running through her brain. She was shivering from head to toe uncontrollaby. It was her turn to face the Boggart and she didnt know if she could do it. At the rate she was going she was going to have a nervous break down before she even encountered the stupid thing. And she still didnt know what form it would take because she was afraid of many things *sigh while shivering* she finally approached the holding place and looked at the professor with a sad look. Why was she doing this to her? Why!!!!. She was parilyzed with fear as the professor opened the door... Her eyes instantly shut as it registered what was happening. 'Ohoohnoohnoohno" was all she kept saying to herself quietly. She knew she couldnt stand there forever and hold up the class so she willed herself to squint past her eyelids and i mean she willed. It was as if the Boggart knew her eyes were closed because when she first peeked thru there was nothing, but soon as it registered she could see out it came. The first thing that came out was this Huuuuuugggeee beak bollowed by its huuuuuuuggeee head. her eyes flew open in shock.... She couldnt believe the Boggart had picked this of all things. But it was right she was deathly afraid of them especially when there were many of them. She was so scared she couldnt... No wouldnt close her eyes back. She must keep her eyes open so it wouldnt attack her. Next came a skinny Bird leg.... and then the other. Finally the Pigeon was out. Yes she were afraid of pigeons. Always have been. They were so Creepy looking. But she didnt even think this could be called a pigeon. It was 15x bigger than a usual one. she didnt know how she was going to make it into something funny. |
For the first time Dianna felt like she was going to black out. She was terrified but ast the same time wanted to get over this. She was squeezing her wand so tight that she felt like it was going to snap into two any moment now. The boggart was released and to her horror quickly formed into something she didn't want it to. Dianna fell to the ground landing on her bottom as she quickly scooted backwards. But the boggart was there and followed her. Dianna let out a small gasp as the boggart which was now a huge, huge cobra slithered towards her. Yes, for a girl who was sorted into Slytherin she was terrified of snakes. She can't think clearly and and was surely going to faint any moment now. What now? |
fletcher v. humphrey, pt. 1 Quote:
"HUMPHREY, I'm comin' fer you," Fletcher challenged the boggart in the desk loudly. He stared it down and waited for its release, his wand clenched tightly in his hand. Must not be distracted by thoughts of a boggart, and what this boggart could be, and what form it would take. Nay. He could take it, regardless of what it became. And then.... the desk drawer opened, and out came..... A broom. Oh. OHHHHOHO. But not just any broom. It was a big, giant, enormous broom that seemed to stretch all the way up to the top of the room, and it was sweeping toward Fletcher. Sweep. Sweep sweep. Try to fly me, Humphrey Broomgart challenged. MWAHAHAHA. |
Post 2 :) Brittany sat staring at the evil Bird for what seemed like forever. Her brain kept telling her arm to move but it seemed to have a mind of its own at the moment. It stayed glued to her side. "Snap out of it Brittany" she thought to herself "The longer you stand there and not do anything the longer it will be here." That one thought got her arm back in syncwith the rest of her body because it now raised towards the bird with her wand pointing at it. "R-rridiculos" "she said quietly. Nothing happened the Bird was still terrorizing her annnnnd inching closer in the creepy walk it does. "Wrong Riddikulus Brittany Duhhhh." she was going crazy her own self concience was making fun of her "Riddikulus" she said really quickly that it came out in a jumble. And then to make matters worst she hadnt even thought of anything funny yet. She was going about this all wrong... Taking a deep Breath and closing her eyes to think. She thought of something Funny that would make this nightmare be over. A smile Crept cross her face as she finally visualized the image that would make it work. And with a couple giggles she confidently yelled out "RIDDIKULUS" |
Salander Post 1 SPOILER!!: Prof Carlton, also refr. to prev post Salander listened as the Professor correct his spell casting "Oh, ok. Riddikulus" he repeated, casting his wand as instructed. He then watched the Professor bring the boggart table forward, forming a line behind Mia and Grayson and Fletcher. When it was Salander's turn, he stepped up in front of the desk, feeling completely bewildered. He wasnt aware of anything that would get him afraid, being the kind of guy who would dive into something head first then forget about it. To him, foresight was someone having two pairs of eyes. As the boggart emerged it formed a mist that started to widen, taking several humanoid forms. As the hazy humanoids started to define their features Salander frowned, narrowing his eyes at the humanoid at the very forefront of what looks to be a gang. "This isnt Humphrey Bogart..... " he trailed off as the last wisps cleared away to reveal-- the elite fraternity from his second wizarding school, Theurgists Hall at Pendle Hill. These warlocks prided themselves at being the best wizards that side of Pennsylvania. Salander merely regarded them as spoiled bullies who wanted everybody to conform to their every whim. And trust in Salander to be the bullheaded non-conformist, having crossed their gang numerous times. The scene playing before him was like a bad case of dejavu that kept repeating the worst part, as the leader of the gang stepped forward and raises his wand, the rest of his dozen or so cohorts closes in and follows suit. Like a silent movie they cast against him, hexes raining from all directions. Salander loses his head, completely forgetting that this was a boggart and that he was in a classroom in Hogwarts. To him this was reliving that awful day at Pendle Hill, as he instead cast a spell to protect himself and a phantom someone that had once stood beside him. "Protego! Protego! Protego!" he yelled as he swung his wand around blindly, blocking the hexes away, yet feeling their sting like they had gotten through. He stood paralyzed, knowing full well what would come next. The gang leader weaved a masterful stroke with his wand then, mouthed a curse whose voice only reverberated in Salander's head "Sectumsempra!". The lad crumpled to the ground and cried in pain, reacting like he did that day when the hex rebounded onto his upper leg. |
Post One Patroclus made his way to the front of the Line..... The fourth year had no idea what to expect, he was unsure what he feared the most, he thought himself rather fearless, but he was about to find out for sure. With a smile to Professor Carlton, the boy looked his eyes onto the space in which the Boggart had just been. Instantly the room went black......pitch black, bar a small crack that provide a horrifing image, and the sound that accompanied it was worse. It was the sound of hundred of litres of sound pouring there way into a tomb, burying him alive, alone in the dark. He had been here before, the boggart had swallowed him, condemming him to the sark recesses of a tomb deep in the heart of the earth. Patroclus was six when this happened the first time. The family of Pollux Hudson World Reknown WizArcheaologist, had been working on a Dig in Egypt when the boy had wandered off on his own, and fell for metres through the floor of a Tomb, causing sand to pour in on his head, burying him. It had only been the feeling in her stomach that made the boy's mother Pandora look for him. So here he was again, hidden, lost, in the darknest drowning. |
Post: 1 SPOILER!!: Quotes He glanced over at the professor. Damn.. there went that plan. He shook his head and looked back at Cam. She poked his cheek and his head turned to the side. He smiled. “I was a right cocky little git.” Still was to an extent. “I don't blame you for hating me.” Though why she hated EVERYONE was beyond the snake. He did tend to get along with everyone despite his need to wind them up. It was an attention seeking device that hadn't really left him as he got older. He truly didn't HATE anyone. He let out a laugh. So Cam's tactics were working. Clever chick. “I'm athletic. You had a gherkin for a toe and you still caught up with me. I should have 'accidentally' transfigured your feet into vegetables when we went running.” Snort. “It was funny!” He protested. “You had this cute little scowl on your face and looked like you wanted to kill me. It made it all the funnier when you faceplanted into that puddle.” Gigglesnort. More funny stuff. The lizard? He shook his head, smiling. “I believe that lizard was part of your vivid imagination, babe.” Oh they were starting? Oliver joined the line behind Cameron, a distinct pout on his seventeen year old face. He reached out for her hand, giving it a squeeze. “Don't think it would work, babe. You can do this. Jus'... jus' think of the lizard.” heh. |
Post 3 (and a bit for Salander too, even though it messes with timelines) Grayson, even knowing the boggart-Lafay wasn't real, was having a hard time not quailing again under that glare. But she managed to keep concentrating on the funny thought she'd come up with, and as her spell hit, the boggart suddenly was wearing a pink tutu, and then stepped forward only to have its feet slide out from underneath itself, and it fell flat on its back. And even though it still looked scary, Grayson started giggling a bit. Only to giggle more as it tried to get up and only made the situation worse. Like there was oil on the floor or something. And, with the tutu, it was just way too funny. Next thing she knew, she was completely lost to uncontrollable giggles and then the boggart vanished. Letting her continued vague discomfort at the thought of failing in Potions vanish as well. Yay, she thought. Boggarts were scary, but not that bad. Stepping back, she watched as the others went after her, curious about Fletcher's boggart as well as some others. But as the boggart targeted Salander, she was on the tip of her toes. She wanted to see if Bogart showed up, but he didn't. Only people she didn't know who they were, and her eyes widened as Salander crumpled to the ground. "Come on, Salander. It's just a boggart," she said, going over to him and trying to get his attention. He wasn't really hurt. Not that she could see, but his boggart had been way scarier than hers. "You can beat this. Think of Bogart." Maybe that would snap him out of it. |

Post 2 So this was the man that she would have to hug if Hogwarts didn't win the TWT. Mia shuddered as she watched the Zitnik boggart start to advance towards her. If she managed to pull this spell off, she was going to throttle Nikolai after this. Raising her wand and pointing it at the boggart, Mia's hand shook a little while she tried to think of something funny to turn the boggart into and the bloody incantation. Seriously it was all too much for her tiny brain. Closing her eyes for a second and taking a deep breath, she opened her eyes and looked at the Zitnik boggart dead on. "Ridd - Riddiku -" Oh for the love of Merlin, she could not even pronounce the spell. Taking another deep breath and concentrating, Mia raised her wand a little higher. "Riddikulus." She said in a small voice. Nothing happened. The boggart was still coming towards her and Mia was starting to panic. She didn't want to be anywhere near it. "Riddikulus." She said a little louder this time but still nothing happened and she realised that she wasn't thinking of anything amusing to turn it into. She was too busy not wetting herself. And then an image popped into her head. Where it had come from she had no idea. But it was there and it was rather amusing now that she thought about it some more. Feeling a little more confident now and with the image firmly stuck in her mind, Mia raised her wand and her voice and shouted out the incantation. "RIDDIKULUS!!" |
Right. The spell. She needed to remember the SPELL. But then the boggart suddenly changed form... how odd. Well, perhaps she had two major fears. Whatever. But now the boggart was a... a MERMAN. Not cool. She backed up towards the wall as it followed her, icy gross scaly fingers outstretched in her direction. Oh, no. There was supposed to be a spell, but it had gone right out of her mind... ot sounded like Ridiculous, right? 'Umm... er... Ridiculus?' she tried, the spell coming out as more of a question than a soell. Viky gulped and tried again. 'Riddikulus!' woo! That was it! Fourth time lucky, right? She giggled as the boggart began to change, glad she had remembered the spell. Woo! |
post 1 Ignore it Evelyn. Just, ignore it! Yes, she was mentally calling the Hufflepuff girl an IT. Because she could! They were her own thoughts after all. However, the Slytherin couldn't help but turn and scowl at her. They would be meeting up later for sure. Turning back to the line, the girl continued to scowl as she waited for her turn, forgetting all about the fact that she would be facing her greatest fear in front of the whole class. Crossing her arms, she tapped her foot on the ground, her scowl slowly disappearing as her turn in line came nearer and nearer; until it was her turn that is. Then she was internally freaking out, her eyes staring wide eyed at the person in front of her leaving, causing the wide open space in front of Evelyn to look only ten times bigger. Just her...and the boggart now. Crap. She was just about to chicken out and step AWAY from the boggart, but it had already started changing. Twisting, stretching, and twirling in the air, the Slytherin held her breathe, half expecting a giant acromantula spider with an EXTRA hairy body and EXTRA eyes to suddenly appear in front of her. But no. There was no spider, no extra eyes, and definitely had less legs then eight. Some might have called her boggart cute, adorable, and not even boggart worthy. But they all didn't know the real reason behind it. How could HE be her boggart? Taking a step back, she raised her wand, having all intentions to send it back to where it came from but, her mind was blank. How was she supposed to make her little brother turn into something funny? |
Okay, deep breaths Alice.... Lifting her wand and imaging with all her might that little yellow duck Alice called out, "Riddikulus!!" Opening her eyes after a couple of moments Alice smiled to see a small rubber duck lying on the floor. Not too shabby if she could say so herself. |
Post Two Breath. He had to remember to breath. The sand was pouring in faster than ever. To those looking on, Patroclus was buried deep in the heart of a Tomb, a place of death, and it was death that awaited him. His legs began to feel the pressure of sand, pushing against him, trapping his legs. The more he tried to struggle the faster the sand poured in, the more he tried to claw his way to the hole in the ceiling above him, the further it moved away from him. He need to focus, snap out of it and use his wand. With his wand pointed straight up into the sky he mumbled, "Riddikulus!" The tomb wavered around him, but then became fixed again. The sand was at his hips.......his breathes came in gasps, his nerve shaken........he need to focus, find the situation funny.....but how, he was about to die! Shutting his eyes he tried to think of something funny............he had it, he lost it, as his chest began to push against the sand! Think! FUNNY! With his eyes closed again, he called on his years of yoga and lost himself into the nothingness. He had it! "Riddikulus!" |
*pokes RL* Evan was watching the people facing boggart at the very back of the class as he debated whether to do it or not when he saw it was Marie's turn. Looking more intrigued now, he got closer to the front as he tried to see what her boggart was. Was that a... howler? He froze, eyes open with shock, as his brain concluded who it could be from: Mina. And the next moment he was right, freezing with fear even more while the howler went on about their affair. Shoot. That was supposed to be a SECRET! And now even the professor knew. No, never mind professor because she didn't know Mina--the whole class knew, which meant someone was bound to tell it to Mina! He gulped hard as he couldn't move any other muscle. This was something beyond a disaster; there wasn't a word to describe it. And to make it worse, the boggart went on and on as Marie was frozen too just like him. He returned back to his corner, trying to be as small as possible to hide himself while Evelyn helped Marie end the scandal. Maybe he could stay there, hiding for the rest of the class... After that, he didn't even want to face his boggart. |
Post three It didn't work! It didn't work. And now she was being chased around by rubber ball throwing demons and she had to get away but as she turned around there was a forest. A dark and dreary forest. She held her wand and thought ballons, "Ridikkulous." Oh this was not turning out to be any good. |
Post 1. But Evan knew he couldn't hide there forever. He would get out at some time, and he had two choices: either sit there, act totally guiltily and earn no house points--like they needed, but it was still good--or go up there, act like that boy wasn't you and beat that boggart. Even though the first one was easier, once he was sure that his face got it's original colour, he slowly got up and got in the line. Seriously, who knew him here besides Evelyn, Destiny, Marie and Josh? Josh seemed too busy with his boggart anyway--which was cute that his biggest fear was a dead Evelyn--so he hopefully hadn't noticed Marie's before. Evelyn... well, she was Marie's friend, she should talk to her. And Destiny wouldn't tell to anyone. Hopefully. When it was his turn, he took a few hesitant steps forward to face his. He half-expected it to be an angry Mina, but what he saw was far more devastating than Mina. It was himself lying on the floor in pain, with both of his hands holding his more dominant left foot's ankle which seemed to be shattered. NOO! His preferred foot's ankle couldn't be broken! By the look of it, it seemed quite possible that he could never walk again, let alone play football. His whole life was ruined. He could never play football again. He would be lucky to be able to walk after that injury. He fell on his knees, absorbing the scene with watered eyes, holding his real left ankle as if it was really hurt. Considering the fact that such an injury was pretty possible made him forget all about the boggart and he just focused on the scene, trying to imagine possible treatments. And he couldn't find any. Must... not... cry... over the fact that I can never play football again. |
Post 1 Taking a deep breath, Rubiey stepped forward. She wasn't sure if she had ever been so scared in her entire life. Breathe. Her wand hand was shaking manically, but she wasn't about to back down. No siree. She was a Gryffindor. Gryffindors were meant to be brave. Right now, Rubiey didn't feel brave at ALL. She looked at Professor Carlton, fear pouring into her eyes, and nodded stiffly. Get it over and done with. The room went dark, and the music that people associated with Jack-in-the-Boxes filled the air, pressing in on Rubiey's eardrums. Creepy. A massive box stood in front of the little brunette, with the handle sloooooooowly turning around. Any second now, a clown was gonna jump out of the box. Rubiey tightened her grip on the little stick in her hand, determination seeping into her. Bring it. |
Quote:
However the yelling never came. Slowly opening her eyes she seen Evan kneeling on the floor holding his ankle... looking at himself holding his ankle. Well that was odd. He was afraid of a broken ankle and not that his girlfriend may find out what he did? Seeing that he wasn't doing anything to get rid of his boggart, which still confused her, she went over to him and kneeled down beside him. "Evan, you have to think of something funny if you want that to go away," she said pointing over to his other self on the floor. Yeah, she would so have to ask him about that later. |
fletch v. humphrey, pt. 2 SPOILER!!: Why yes, I am quoting myself. Fletcher froze at the sight of the giant broom, for now, not only was the broom sweeping up a storm, a tornado, all around him, but the floor of the classroom was also falling away. Either the tile square he was standing on was moving up, up, up and away, or the tiles all around him were dropping lower and lower as the giant broom swept a circle around and around him. Or maybe it was a combination of both. Either way, Fletcher clutched his wand for dear life and looked down at the disappearing floor. That was a baaaad idea. The boy turned a faint, pastel shade of green and had to fight down chunks of vomit. Gulp. So Mr. Humphrey Broomgart had somehow found out his fear of flying, falling, and most of all, heights. Brilliant. Fletcher closed his eyes to keep from looking down or around at the huge broom. It seemed to be laughing at him as it swept closer and closer. How was he supposed to make a giant broom seem even more ridiculous than it already was? Imagine that, though. Sir GlitterPuff Hufflejock the Awesome was terrified of a giant broom. Still standing there with his eyes closed, Fletcher started giggling. Hehehee. He was afraid of a giant broom. That was embarrassing. Fletcher opened his eyes, inspired by his own laughter. He wasn't chuckling as much now, but the giant broom had stopped sweeping and seemed to hover in front of him, confused. He grinned evilly and flicked his wand. "RIDDIKULUS!" |
