There's nothing unusual about the way the Charms classroom has been set up. All the desks are neatly arranged in rows and, save for a few boxes filled with random supplies, nothing unusual decorates the room. Professor Carlton doesn't appear to be in the classroom, but a slightly ajar door in the back of the room gives the impression that she's likely in the supply closet, looking around for some random something-or-another to use in class.
A sign on the board reads:
Quote:
Welcome to Charms class! Please come in and take a seat. As my announcement indicated, you are more than welcome to have come to class wearing cowboy or cowgirl attire. If you don't own these items, they'll be provided for you. The lesson will begin momentarily.
OOC: The lesson will begin in about two hours (5:45 PM EST). You may roleplay your character coming in and joining class, but please try and limit the conversation.

Guiding the atlas carefully back to him, he ended the spell only when the huge book was safely tucked under his arm. Grabbing the goblet and the toy with his other hand, Ty walked over to the back of the classroom and put his things in one of the boxes, wincing slightly as the ginormous atlas made a loud thud as it hit the other items.
This lesson was fun! Ty grinned and returned to his seat, already eagerly anticipating the second half. Plus, now would probably be the time Professor Carlton would let them know why they had needed cowboy things, right? Not that Ty had anything, but still. It made him EXTREMELY curious.

vienna put her necklace back on and looked curiously at the box Professor Carlton had. She couldn't wait to see what it was all about so far she was really enjoying this class
"Then return to your seats, so we can move on to the last half of the lesson," she added. As she talked, she levitated a different box toward her and guided it to come to a rest just at her feet. The top was still securely on it, though, so no one could drop anything down into it or see what was inside.
Once he'd recapped the marker, Kellen scooped up his items and put them back in one of the boxes. He would have tossed them as instructed, but really the poor old clock looked like it was about ready to burst and send springs everywhere.
...and now the professor was being all mysterious with a lidded box. Well. If she was trying to make him all curious and such-forth... it was working.

Giving her another smile, he returned to his objects. Now was the medium-object, a basketball. Grabbing, he examined it for a while. It was a nice one. Looking at the professor with a puzzled face, he wondered what she did with a basketball? She didn't look to be a fan of the sport, but the ball was in a good condition that suggested it wasn't for decoration. Maybe she just conjured it for the class? Must be. He had to learn the spell of that some time, 'cause he wanted a basketball as well but his parents refused to buy him one. Siiigh... they would never understand the importance of doing sports.
With a swish and flick of his wand, he said "Wingardium Leviosa!" again to float the object in the air. Then, pointing his wand at it, he said "Fixate!" When it froze in the mid-air, he smiled and performed the last spell--"Locomotor basketball." Bouncing it a few times on his desk harmlessly, he made the ball tour the class, turn around Marie's head, and come back to him, while trying different speeds at different areas. He seemed to got hold of the spells. Just the heavy object left, and he'd perfect these spells.
Looking back at Evan and seeing him smile at her Marie knew that things were gonna be good with them again.
Still smiling she turned back to her desk and the final object she needed to move... that dragon statue. Putting the key chain back on her desk she picked up her wand and pointed it at the statue. "Wingardium Leviosa." she said. She watched it raise just off the desk but then it fell back down again. Well this was going to take a bit more concentration than the other items that was for sure. "WINGARDIUM LEVIOSA!" she said again a bit louder and with more confidence this time. Yes, it worked. Now to keep it in place. "Fixate!" Annnnnd it stayed.
Now what to do with it. Tigh, she knew the perfect person to send it to.
Evelyn.
"Locomotor dragon statue" and she guided it right over and plopped it down on Evelyn's desk.

Oh what, they had to put the stuff back already. But Destiny didn't even have time to look at the book she sent over to her. Maybe she would just leave the book there and let Destiny put it away. After levitating the feather and the statue back to her she grabbed the key chain that Evan had sent her way and put them all back in the box.
She may not have gotten to keep the key chain but at least now she knew that he wasn't mad at her anymore.
She went back to her seat and waited for the rest of the lesson to start.
"It's not who you are that holds you back, it's who you think you are not."

Alice brought the spoon down from where she had fixated it, and placed it back in the same box as the alarm clock and the book, and took the jewelry box to the back of the room. She returned to her seat and waited for Professor Carlton to give further instructions. Alice wondered what was in the box she had chilling by her feet.

Aww booo, they had to stop levitating and flying their objects around already?! Oh well, he could do it with other things later in the Common room. Riley was all too ready to use a unsuspecting firstie's quill or something later.
After he levitated his tennis ball and other items back into the box, Professor Carlton came in with another box? Mysterious! Riley sat down in a chair closer to her this time, and sat up straighter to see if he could get a glimpse of what was inside first, darn his lack of x-ray vision!

Well, that meant Adam's chair was safe...for now. She still needed to practice outside of the classroom after all. After returning all her borrowed things, and making the stuffed rabbit bow to Professor Carlton, Kurumi returned to her seat and took out some parchment to write down everything written on the board.
Ooooh....another box. Kurumi began to wonder what sort of goodies could be in this one. Maybe this box had elephants?

Arya was having a blast with her toy airplane. Making it whiz around the classroom. It was too bad she couldn't use magic outside of the castle, she would love to use this spell to play with Peter and all his toy airplanes. When the professor told them to return to their seats, she landed the plane on her desk, and glanced up at the professor with a curious expression. What's in the box Carlton?

While strolling around the classroom, Lexi watched--tickled pink--as the Flores girl changed the color of a boring old pot to a pretty pink color. "Excellent job, Miss Flores. Just excellent," she commented. She grew quiet and her eyebrows wrinkled in a mixture of confusion and astonishment as an elephant statue, large belly and all, grazed just past Evelyn. Where had that thing come from? She had been fairly sure there were no elephants in the boxes, but...hey, it's not like she remembered every last odd assortment she'd thrown into that supply closet.
Her focus on the elephant was broken when she noticed a piece of chocolate making its way toward her desk. Mmm...chocolate.
"Well, of course you can. There's an assortment of combined charms you can use, including Accio However, it'd be best in this situation to not try such a spell," she said, glancing around the room and noticing that about a hundred little odds and end were flipping, spinning, and zooming about. "There's so many objects in here right now that I'm afraid someone might get hurt if two people are tugging away at the same object at one time. Good question, though, Mr. Twigwell."
Ahh, a ferret. So that was what the girl had been asking about when she'd asked if they could levitate one of their personal belongings into---...
...wait just a minute. This kid had a ferret in her classroom? In her classroom?! Now Lexi was pretty easygoing, and she did have a random assortment of objects zooming about her room right now, but...a ferret?
"Well, let's think about this for just a moment, shall we? A ferret zooming around the room...such a small creature and such a big room...would likely equal ohh, say...a human being zooming around on a roller coaster," she said. As she talked, her eyes traveled to the girl's bag--there was a ferret in there? *blink* "I'd venture a pretty good guess that your ferret just might get a bit sick...all over us...if you levitated him and gave him a ride about the classroom. Not only that, I think he'd likely get hit in the head with one of these...flying elephant statues or atlases we have grazing all our heads."
Hmm... "May I see this ferret, please?" she asked, holding her hand out. "You'll get him back, I promise."

Arithmancy...mazes...all things Lexi was really interested in and wanting to reply to, but...three mischievous little boys were currently playing a game of 'hit one another upside the head with objects'---in her classroom. In her classroom!
"Misters Salander, Fletcher, and Stern! That'll be enough of this nonsense right now!" she said. "I'm not sure who--or how--or why--this whole thing started, but you'll end it right now." She glanced toward Fletcher and added, "Or else you'll find yourself serving a detention which will likely be held right in the middle of important school events."
With a not-so-amused look on her face, she waved her wand, tapped it in mid-air, and caused a slight thump on the back of Fletcher's head...despite the fact that she was all the way across the room. She paused then added, "...and those are such pretty pink cowboy boots, Mr. Fletcher," she said, making a point of pointing out the color to all in the room who could hear her. "The color looks sparkling on you, I must say. Where did you find such a pretty pink pair?"
With half her attention still on the three mischievous little boys, Lexi glanced down at a little first year Slytherin who was trying desperately to levitate something from a nearby box. "It's much easier if you pull the item from the box with your hands first," she said. She reached in and plucked out an...object...which resembled either a three-headed pig or a badly-sculpted tree. One could just never tell. Lexi turned and pointed out the directions on the board.
1. Levitate using a swish and flick of the wand plus Wingardium Leviosa.
2. Fix your object in place by pointing your wand at it and saying Fixate.
3. Move your object around the room by saying Locomotor ___ (insert object in blanks) and guiding it with your wand.
"Now then. Work on those step by step, and I'll stand nearby if you have any trouble," she said.
"Quickly finish levitating your light, medium, and heavy objects," she said, addressing the class as a whole. "We'll be moving on soon!"
" Thank you for the explanation " Rex told Miss Carlton. ' I thought there had been too may objects in the air flying over us" Rex said to Miss Carlton. " i do not want anyone hurt on my account" Rex explained to the professor.

Willow threw her things in the boxes. She returned to her seat, happy they were done. She really wanted to doodle, but she was NOT getting in trouble. All she could do was sit there and be quiet.

Aaakk!!! She knows my name! So much for trying to remain in cognito"Y-yes Ma'am" Salander mumbled as he tipped his (yes its now his) cowboy hat to her in respect. He lowered it back down onto his head but a little closer down his face. He was already in danger of landing in detention for this, but he didnt want to make her recall if he should righteously deserve detention for something else as well.

He busied himself with applying the 3 steps on the stack of rope and the sheriff's badge, the last one got a little tricky when it threatened to fly out from his control and go all ninja star in the air. He returned the items into the box when the Professor advised them, but kept the black cowboy hat on his head. He figured that technically, it didnt come out of the box. Plus it helps with the incognito thing.

Yep, she'd have to move the mug to get to that very ugly stuffed turkey.
Then, Destiny would have water!
She kept an eye on Evelyn for a second longer before turning around and pulling the elephant statue closer to herself. What WAS that thing? It was an ELEPHANT and..was it wearing clothes!? Elephants don't wear clothes!
After giving the statue a few little pokes in the belly, because it was right there and all, she pointed her wand towards it and gave a swish and flick, "Wingardium Leviosa." It might have just been her imagination, but it didn't seem like it was levitating as quickly as the other objects she had. Hmm.. "Fixate." she said, and with a tap on the elephant's belly, the statue was fixed at eye level.
And now she needed somewhere to move it to.
Evelyn, of course.
"Locomotor elephant statue."
And off the elephant went. It's belly getting a little too close to Evelyn's face.
Hehe...
....
WHAT WAS THAT!?
Instinctively, Evelyn moved her head back, away from whatever it was that suddenly appeared in front of it. She had HOPED it was a fly or something, but no. This was way too big to be a fly. And too...elephant-y.
Glaring at the statue, she scooted it out of the way on her desk before glancing to Destiny. Hehe, now she wasn't getting it back!

Excellent job? 'Course it was excellent. Just look at the hideous PINK! Concealing her smirk with a smile, the girl finally moved her attention to the two other objects on her desk, not really knowing what to do with them.
A stuffed animal turkey, and the muggle box side-kick rectangle thing. Well, she could always put the muggle box side-kick on Destiny's desk. Or, maybe she should put the turkey on her desk!? OR BOTH!? "Wingardium Leviosa." she said, the swish and flick being the last thing she did.

Meh.
Glancing to the professor, she let the stuffed turkey drop to her desk before standing up and picking the fluffy thing up. She didn't want to touch the muggle side-kick rectangle though! It was made of evil. Pure evil.
Raising a brow, Evelyn looked around, making sure no one was really watching before using the turkey's neck to pick up the thing. Stupid rectangle. Ruining her day.
Moving up to the back of the room where all the boxes were and let both items drop where they were. Oh, gah she forgot the plant pop.
...The professor enjoyed pink right? Even part of her hair was that color. Might as well let her keep it. Even though she could probably created a better colored PINK plant pop, but well, it was a semi-suddenly thought up gift. Sorta. Ish. From her.
With a jab of his wand, the scraf fluttered back onto the boys desk, it floaty softly through the air.
Reaching into the box again, Patroclus selected his next item; a medium sized crystal ball. Ohh hopefully Reynolds not around, the boy laughed to himself. "Wingardium Leviosa!" With the swish and flick, the ball rose into the air, and "Fixate!" Patroclus stilled it.
"Locomotor Crystal Ball" With the use of ths next charm, Patroclus began to guide the ball through the air, it colliding with the feather of another student, "Sorry!" the boy called, not knowing where the feather had come from.
The ball did loopdeloops, and zigzags in the air, before Patroclus brought it back to land on his desk,
"Now the heavy one!" Patroclus grinned placing his hand back into the box, and pulled out a rather large pot plant complete with small shrub, "Oh. wow." The boy grinned. "Wingardium Leviosa!" This one was a tad harder to control. Through his wand Patroclus could feel the wieght of the pot and plant. When it was a suficent distance off the ground, Patroclus "Fixate"'d it.
"Locomotor Pot Plant!" Now Patroclus had to have slow movements with this one, besides the fact it was really heavy, it also had the possiblity to tip and spill soil everywhere! Directing it with his wand, Patroclus had the plant hover in tight circle around his desk before Professor Carlton called for attention.

Patroclus guided the pot plant to the box at the Back, and then did the sme with the Crystal Ball and Scarf. Them out of the way, Patroclus returned his attention to the perfectly pink Professor, and her new mystery box!
Dugging into the box, Louisa let a what looked like a bowling ball. "Hey you! wingardium leviosa." The ball was raised slowly in the air...kept rising. "Wow! I don't feel its weight. fixate!" The ball stood suspended in midair close to the girl who grinned. "Locomotor bowling ball." And while moving her wand, the ball moved along. it really was an easy lesson and entertaining.

In his mind, this 'whole thing' had ended when he'd returned the purse in a peaceful way. Why Fletcher continued to torment, pick on, and otherwise make Kellen's life more difficult, he still didn't really know. Surely the boy wasn't still being Neptune's muscle for that greenhouse thing?

He was already in danger of landing in detention for this, but he didnt want to make her recall if he should righteously deserve detention for something else as well.
He busied himself with applying the 3 steps on the stack of rope and the sheriff's badge, the last one got a little tricky when it threatened to fly out from his control and go all ninja star in the air. He returned the items into the box when the Professor advised them, but kept the black cowboy hat on his head. He figured that technically, it didnt come out of the box. Plus it helps with the incognito thing.

Fletcher was NOT doing NOTHING wrong, ma'am, he really wasn't. The poor boy had been sitting at his desk, innocently enough, and had one pink ankle crossed over the other as he spun his sneakoscope slowly in front of him with his wand.
He hadn't even noticed, sadly enough, when his handsome outlaw hat was traded for an Indian Chief's headdress.
"What's that, Chief?" he looked up at the Charms professor, very surprised to be called out like so and certainly not realizing the irony of his name for her. His head thumped forward slightly for some reason and he blinked his wide, dark, doe-like eyes. "I'd love a detention with you, ma'am," wink, "but not during the tournament please. My apologies for being so... charming.... this lesson."
Wink wink wink.
He reached up to adjust his hat and felt all the colorful feathers there trailing down his back. Fletcher spun around in his seat as his Sneakoscope went crashing to the floor. Glaaaaare. His eyes narrowed in on Kellen Stern --- because who else was there to blame? --- but then he looked back at the professor as she spoke.
"Oh, these ole thangs?" The boy shrugged though he was vomiting inwardly. "They belonged to.... my... stepsister..... and I knew how you liked pink, professor, so I thought they'd be appropriate to wear to this lesson......"
Yeah great excuse, Fletcher. He wrinkled his nose and spared the boots one more glance before turning back around to find his hat. Eyes scanning the room slowly, Fletcher's gaze came to rest on one certain Slytherin.
"Salanderrrrrr," he growled to himself, silently flicking his wand at the boy's head and levitating his hat back to him. Hmmph. He took off Salander's Indian headdress and quickly changed the color to a bright, hideous pink and then levitated it back to Salander's head.
"FIXATE," he ordered, flicking his wand at the boy's head and smirking so he was sure he saw him. He then turned back around in his seat and fixated his hat back on his head. Done. And just in time as the professor called them back to their seats, too.

Freya moved on to the medium item. she made a swish and flick movement with her wand "Wingardium Leviosa" the items levitated "Fixate" the item stayed still. "Locomotor book" she muttered and the book flied towards her.
Then next one is the heavy item. She repeated the wish and flick movement with her wand and said "Wingardium Leviosa" the item flied from her desk "Fixite" the item froze in front of her. "Locomotor telescope" she said guiding the telescope to fly towards her.

Quickly Freya grabbed the three items and tossed them into the box in the back of the classroom. After finished tossing the items she went back to her seat and waited for the next instruction.

Not waiting to see his reaction she turned back to her desk and the remaining items. With a swish and a flick of her wand she said, "Wingardium Leviosa" and watched the book float up off the desk. She then pointed her wand at the book. "Fixate." and the stayed stayed there hovering over her desk. Now where to have the book go.
Aha, she knew the perfect person to send this book to. Someone who would appreciate a book on Useless Animal Factsand would probably read it too. "Locomotor Book" she said as she sent the book flying towards Destiny.
Oops, looks like it might land on her head if she doesn't move.
What was this!? A book on..useless animal facts?
*SCOFF*
Animal facts were not useless, and Destiny knew where the book had come from. Turning in her seat, she faced Marie. Yeah, it was definitely her. "Animal facts are not useless." she whispered before turning back in her seat.
But..she did want to keep the book, it seemed interesting. She doubted Carlton would let her, though.

Skimming through the book that Marie had given her, she made a mental note of some facts that she didn't know yet. HA! Marie had given her the book, and now she was going to be stuck listening to some facts. Not in class, later, like when her friend was trying to sleep.
Hehe.
Glancing at Evelyn, and remembering how she had a stuffed turkey on her desk, she was just about to tell her something VERY interesting about the animal, but stopped when..
EVELYN STOLE THE ELEPHANT STATUE! Now Destiny was itemless. Except for the sock, but she didn't even want that.
Pfffft.

Time to clean up.
Haha, Destiny only had to clean up a sock since Evelyn had everything on her desk. Her desk, her job to clean up.
Picking the sock up from her desk, she rolled it into a ball and threw it towards the box. It was like she was playing that muggle sport, casketball. Watching as the sock landed right inside the box, Destiny raised her arms over her head, "One hundred points for meeee!"
Or not.

...wait just a minute.
"Quickly finish levitating your light, medium, and heavy objects," she said, addressing the class as a whole. "We'll be moving on soon!"
Grayson's innocent expresion turned a bit worried as she watched the expressions on Professor Carlton's face as she registered what had been said, something was giving her a bit of an uh oh feeling. Letting the spellbook she'd been zooming around the room fly back to her desk, she lowered it back to the surface before putting all her attention on the pink-haired professor. But Professor Carlton only started logically discussing the possible cons with her using her ferret as a flying object, and Grayson nodded a little, expression turning more thoughtful. "Well, yeah, I guess. Draco doesn't get sick very much though," she said, wondering if she'd get the chance to use the spells on a third object after all. Something made her question that. She'd sort of neglected the statues and stuff though, other than figuring she could just try to zoom her ferret around the other objects. "You want to see him?" Taking a deep breath, she reached down and into her bag and withdrew the sleeping white ferret before bringing him over. "Um, okay. As long as I get him back," she said, holding the furball out. She couldn't tell if Professor Carlton liked ferrets or not, after all. But she also trusted the professor not to do anything to hurt him.

Returning to her desk, she had barely gotten there before the professor was telling everyone to stop with the spells. Apparently she was just going to have to make do with the feather and the spellbook, and hope she got her ferret back by the end of class. At least she'd already gotten the objects back to her desk before everything else had happened. Picking them up, she headed over to the box and dropped the two objects inside, before turning to go back to her desk and eyeing the new box the professor was levitating toward her feet. Now she was curious what was inside. Closed up boxes were always intriguing, and even more right now when she was still wondering about the cowboy part of the lesson. Obviously the spells hadn't really been related. Not that she could tell.

1. Levitate using a swish and flick of the wand plus Wingardium Leviosa.
2. Fix your object in place by pointing your wand at it and saying Fixate.
3. Move your object around the room by saying Locomotor ___ (insert object in blanks) and guiding it with your wand.
Now, it was up for the heavy object.
Lets see.

As the students continued to file forward, Lexi gave both the Trigwell boy and the Salander boy a small, polite smile in response to what they'd said to her.

Again, Lexi glared at the Fletcher boy. Duncan boy? Really, she had trouble remembering which name was his first and which was his last. She supposed it didn't matter much at the moment, though. "You'll serve detention with me during the tournament if I say you will. Right now, I don't say you will," she said. She'd like to be able to attend the tournament, thank you very much. "However this is my last warning to you--behave, or else."
Cue a second thump on the back of the head.
She didn't say anything about the pink shoes. She knew where they'd come from, and it wasn't from Duncan!Fletcher's stepsister.

Lexi had half the mind to charm the sock right back out of the box and into Shepard's hands, but really now. Shepard always seemed...not crazy, but a little unwell at times. She let the action slide by with just a little warning glance in Destiny's direction.

"Mmhmm, I want to see him," Lexi said, her face still not depicting whether she was upset with the girl or not. After all, this was Charms, not Care of Magical...or non-magical...Creatures. It was hard to tell just what Lexi was thinking.
That is, of course, until she reached forward and scooped Draco up into her hands. "I've been thinking of getting a ferret---or a guinea pig or iguana. I'm undecided at the moment," she said. She smiled at the little guy, curled him up into her arms, and took off toward the front of the room.
----------
"If you haven't already, take a seat and turn your attention toward the two boxes in the front of the room," she said. Oh. Wait. She had yet to summon the second box--the larger one. With a few swishes and flicks, the larger box was floor!surfing across the room. When it reached Lexi, she toed it open to reveal...
...a box full of wooden horses on a stick.
Text Cut: Horses on a stick!
Some were big, some were small, some were short, some were tall. Some even had little bells dangling from their necks.
"Today, we're going to race wooden horses around a racetrack--which is outside on the grounds--using the combination of charms we've been practicing in class. You'll levitate your horse into the air, fix him at the height you need him to be at, then you'll use the locomotor charm and your wand to guide yourself--on horseback--around the track," she explained.
She toed the smaller box open, and the lid slid away, revealing a box full of cowboy and cowgirl attire for those who didn't have any to begin with. "You're not required to wear any of this," she said, gesturing toward the smaller box, "but it's here for you if you'd just like to have a little bit of extra fun."
"Everyone come up now, choose a wooden horse and--if you'd like--some western attire, then follow me out onto the grounds," she said.
OOC: Feel free to make up a description for your horse and western clothes. The pictures above are just examples.

Iris listened to the professor talk. OOOOH. Horse racing. Teehee. "Aweeesome." She said to herself.
This was going to be FUN. She went up to the front of the class, whilst fixing her pink cowgirl hat, and looked through the box to wooden horses. Nao... She needed a purple horse. To compliment her pink hat.
however, there seemed to be NO purple horses. Hmpf, so a white one would suffice. Picking out a magnificent, white wooden horse out that would be big enough for her, she skipped off after the professor, out on to the grounds.
They were going to race wooden horses??That should be fun.
Freya smiled and went to choose a wooden horse. Well she already wearing a cowboy hat. It was a western attire, wasn't it? After choosing a wooden horse she followed Professor Carlton.

They were going to have a wooden horse race? Woaah. That was pretty awesome. And they got to dress up? He thought that was quite epic too. Although he wasn't too sure about the dressing up bit really, maybe he'd just put one of those cow boy hats on his head. He'd look epic in that, because he was pretty epic. He wandered forward, picking up a hat and plonking it onto his head. He totally needed a mirror, so he could look at how epic he looked. Maybe he'd find Lexi and get her to tell him how awesome he looked. And waiit. Look a badge. He put it on his top, before grinning. Yup He looked totally awesome.
And now he needed a wooden horse. A horse that would be pretty epic for him, because he did need a great one. Picking on up, he looked at it, before moving towards where the rest of the class was going.
