Arya was bouncing in her seat with excitement. It wasn't the same as riding a real horse, but it was still awesome!! Before the last words even escaped the professor's mouth, she was out of her seat and choosing a horse.

It took her all of twenty seconds to pick out her wooden horse, and run out to the grounds.

Holmesian Feline 09-19-2010 05:11 PM

His eyebrow raised as he listened to Professor Carlton told them what they were actually going to be doing for the rest of class. Certainly another fun use for the charm he mused to himself as he got up to retrieve a few things.

Feeling slightly out of place as one of the few boys not dressed up, he looked through the box of attire and found a simple deep brown hat and set it on his blonde hair. Simon then moved onto the box of horses and after a quick search found one that seemed to work for him. A jet black horse with red beads woven into the fake mane of the wooden animal. Happy with his choices, he glanced at Viky awaiting her before walking out to the grounds.

LoveMePlease 09-19-2010 05:15 PM

Right, it was official. Hogwarts lessons were the best! Walking up to the box, Viky grabbed the lightest-looking horse there was. By her logic, if it was light, it'd be easier to move around the track. Even though it would have her on it, and that would make it heavier. Smiling across at Simon, she slipped her hand into his and headed out towards the grounds for the whole race thing.

Destiny 09-19-2010 05:19 PM

Scary glance!

Destiny did not know what that look was for, but it was rather scary and she made a mental note to never do what she didn't know she did ever again.

Lowering her still raised arms, she listened to Professor Carlton as she explained what they were going to be doing. Racing wooden horses!? Sweeeet! Hopping from her seat, she picked out a wooden horse, and since she was already wearing a cowgirl outfit, along with shiny spurs attached to her shoes, she made her way out to the grounds.

Along the way, she gave the wooden horse a little taking to.

It was going to win, for sure.

The1HBIC 09-19-2010 06:04 PM

They were going to race on wooden horses? Well, maybe if she ignored the head of the horse she could pretend she was racing on a broom since they would pretty much be flying.

Following Destiny to the boxes she grabbed a horse, but none of that silly looking clothing. No thank you, she would just stick with her jeans and t-shirt that she had on. It's not like they were riding real horses or anything.

Once she had a horse stick in hand she followed the professor outside.

"However this is my last warning to you--behave, or else."

Cue a second thump on the back of the head.

She didn't say anything about the pink shoes. She knew where they'd come from, and it wasn't from Duncan!Fletcher's stepsister.

"If you haven't already, take a seat and turn your attention toward the two boxes in the front of the room," she said. Oh. Wait. She had yet to summon the second box--the larger one. With a few swishes and flicks, the larger box was floor!surfing across the room. When it reached Lexi, she toed it open to reveal...

...a box full of wooden horses on a stick.

Some were big, some were small, some were short, some were tall. Some even had little bells dangling from their necks.

"Today, we're going to race wooden horses around a racetrack--which is outside on the grounds--using the combination of charms we've been practicing in class. You'll levitate your horse into the air, fix him at the height you need him to be at, then you'll use the locomotor charm and your wand to guide yourself--on horseback--around the track," she explained.

She toed the smaller box open, and the lid slid away, revealing a box full of cowboy and cowgirl attire for those who didn't have any to begin with. "You're not required to wear any of this," she said, gesturing toward the smaller box, "but it's here for you if you'd just like to have a little bit of extra fun."

"Everyone come up now, choose a wooden horse and--if you'd like--some western attire, then follow me out onto the grounds," she said.

OOC: Feel free to make up a description for your horse and western clothes. The pictures above are just examples.

Whoaaa Professor Hottie was angry, wasn't she? She was only hotter when she was angry so really, Fletcher didn't even mind when the front of his head collided with the top of his desk.

She liked to get physical with the students, huh? Any other day the boy might have shouted about abuse and would have not taken such slappings buttt since it was Professor Pink Highlights he let it slide.

Plus a tiny portion of his conscience told him he deserved it.

"Yes maaaaaaaa'am!" he bowed his head respectfully and went up to select a pony. Fletcher rumbled around the box until he found one that matched his outfit. Then he obediently (and silently) followed the rest of the class outside.

Roselyn 09-19-2010 06:23 PM

Bahahaha! They were going to what?!

Sighing in her in disbelief, even though she was not amused all that much, the Slytherin stood up and walked to the box with the horse things in it. Meh, might as well get the best looking one right? Just like all the other times. Pulling out a nice cream-ish colored one with green eyes and a dark brown mane of hair, Evelyn glanced into the other box for a moment to see what was in there.

Nah. There was no way she was going to dress even MORE up as a cowgirl. Besides, she was comfortable as it was. Off to follow the professor woooo!

StarShine 09-19-2010 06:29 PM

Catching up.

Qucikly first levitating his pretty heavy book, Evan casted a quick "Wingardium Leviosa!" It was a little bit hard to levitate such a heavy object, it was as if he could feel the weight, but he managed it and even managed to "Fixate!" it. Then, he said "Locomotor book!" to give it a quick tour--since he was a little late for it, they were already returning the objects--he travelled it back and returned all the three items into the boxes.

He grabbed himself a simple brown cowboy hat and a cowboy coat. He went over the horses. Picking himself a white horse with black hair, a bell hanging from its neck, he followed the professor to the racetrack.

Shanners 09-19-2010 06:40 PM

we're going to pretend we've been here, and not been ill >_<

Letting the rest of this portion of class pass her by, while taking part in the bits she needed to and whatnot, Lorelai sat quiet mainly. These cowboy boots were heavy, and she was pretty certain she had a blister coming ALREADY. And that was the least of everything.

She was glittering everywhere, it was just falling out of her everything. And she didn't LIKE IT.

She wanted her glitter. This was for her, and not for you other not-glittery-people. HMPF.

Taking a quick chew on her lip, as Professor Carlton called for their attention.. to GO OUTSIDE?! Lorelai sighed once. But immediately reassumed a smile on her face, and headed on up, to snatch a PRETTY pink horse. Wasn't she cool?

"I'm gonna call you..... Porcelain. Yes. Good porcelain." And Porcelain was now glittery. And had a little set of wings. Oh, the joys of duplicating charms. And the occasional pot of glitter, hehe.

... and so she followed the rest of the class outside.

Alice went up to the front of the room, excited that they were actually going to be riding horses around a track....well....fake horses, but still fun nonetheless. Alice reached in and grabbed one of the tannish ones and headed out to the racetrack with the rest of the class.

luciussoulmate 09-20-2010 12:06 AM

A wooden horse race What a marvellous idea thought vienna. She reached into the box pulling out a horse seeing it was a boring tan color she pointed her wand at it and turned it bright yellow matching her outfit.

Rawr! 09-20-2010 02:36 AM

Fail.

Grinning, Jimbo jumped up from his seat and ran over to the box. The horses were getting snatched away quickly and he started to think he might not get one he liked. Somehow, for some reason, there was a couple horses left and one of those was exactly the one he wanted. How is it that that happens?

His horse was brown, which luckily didn't clash with his pink outfit, and had black reins and a wooden stick. The mane was brown. Smiling, he grabbed it and ran to follow the class to the racetrack.

PattyH. 09-20-2010 03:35 AM

Boo Yeah!

This lesson had seriously just jumped from awesome, to wickedly awesome! Following the others, Patroclus scooped up his things, grabbed and horse and head to the grounds.

Ye Ha!

*laughs at Lexi, although Grayson is all O.O*

That is, of course, until she reached forward and scooped Draco up into her hands. "I've been thinking of getting a ferret---or a guinea pig or iguana. I'm undecided at the moment," she said. She smiled at the little guy, curled him up into her arms, and took off toward the front of the room.

Grayson eyed Professor Carlton as she repeated the desire to see Draco, feeling like something was off. But in the same respect, she so didn't want to directly defy the professor. Not over something like this. It wasn't like having her ferret asleep in her bag affected class. Except for now, that she'd felt the need to open her mouth, apparently. Then the professor had leaned forward and completely scooped her poor little unsuspecting white ferret into her arms and scuttled off like she was a thief or something. "But professor, you can't have my ferret. I mean, I could probably help you get one of your own, if you decide you want one, but you promised I'd get Draco back," she pleaded. Of course, she'd have to ask Uncle Nathaniel where he'd gotten Draco from, but that wasn't hard. She so never should have said anything. Then she wouldn't be standing here more worried about getting her beloved pet back than the rest of the lesson.

Sending another worried glance at the professor as they were instructed to pick out wooden horses before heading outside, she took her time going up to pick one out from the box. Finding one that was sort of palomino, she settled on it before slowly heading outside. If she didn't get her ferret back after class, she was definitely going to do something. She wanted Draco back!

PandaGirl 09-20-2010 11:56 AM

Heather, comfy with the purple cowboy hat kurumi had put on top of her head, hurried to get a horse and settled on one that was black and white-sort of like a cow would look like. "i think i'll call you...mixie." she smiled and after getting one, she hurried out with the rest of the class.

MeredithRodneyMckay 09-20-2010 06:21 PM

I've been here really.... Yeah. *shifty*

Sarah had been having fun with the spell, flying her objects all over the place, and dipping them over peoples heads. But of course fun had to come to an end, and as Professor Carlton told them to put the things away, Sarah guided the last one to her and dropped them all back into the box.

Now they were what?

HORSESES!!

They were going to go giddy up around a racetrack? BRILLIANT!

Having already come dressed as an awesome cowgirl, Sarah just headed straight for the box with the horses in. Picking out her favourite, she smiled and patted it's head. "I shall call you Winston, and you shall be mine." Now off to the track!

WillowSeawinds 09-20-2010 06:38 PM

Rowan picked out a wooden horse with a mane the same color of her hair, a very deep red. She giggled to herself and decided to name her horse Rex after her new friend, then followed the professor outside.

Lexi opened her mouth to attempt to reply to each person individually, but the students were just too quick for that. So before it was too late and she missed out on something important, she quickly aimed her wand toward the board, levitated a piece of chalk, and started listing the responses.

"Make sure you aren't getting the Hover Charm mixed up with the Mobili- or Locomotor spells. The Hover Charm raises an object, while Mobili- and Locomotor move them," she said. However, she was glad those topics had been brought up, since they did relate to what was being taught today in class. "The Hover Charm will move an object when you end the spell and that item drops, though."

Steps:
Text Cut: Steps
1. Levitate using a swish and flick of the wand plus Wingardium Leviosa.
2. Fix your object in place by pointing your wand at it and saying Fixate.
3. Move your object around the room by saying Locomotor ___ (insert object in blanks) and guiding it with your wand.

Alex was practising the charms...
It suddenly occurred to her..
"Excuse me professor! For moving an object we need to perform two actions together as that I mean to spells together?? first the hover and then the locomoter??" Alex asked nervously..
The concept was not very clear to her how could she be so slow..
but she need to ask. it was important that her basics should be firm..

OOC from Anna: Hey there! I'm afraid we've moved class out to the racetrack for the second part of the class. I roleplayed Lexi leaving class. ^_^

BearyMay 09-21-2010 01:11 PM

Cool!
Dianna picked a horse which is as black as midnight.
Now time time to go!!!
