Excitment threatened to bubble over.

Bonnie couldn't believe it. She would see her little baby imp again today. Of course, it wouldn't be a baby imp anymore. She'd be more a toddler imp now. She had a WHOLE plastic bag full of biscuits. (The elves had helped Crazed!Girl with that) She ran towards the building she had spent so much time at. She ran to the cage...but her baby imp wasn't there. Tears burned in her brown eyes when she heard familiar gurgling. "Hullo...Artemis." Bonnie smiled, opening the cage and holding open her arms for the toddler imp to crawl into.

Cold.

Artemis missed her hot drinks Bonnie gave her. This cold clear liquid didn't taste right. Sighing her imp-ish sigh. She missed Bonnie. She really did. Her Bonnie had left sun rises ago. Every sun rise, Artemis had hoped Bonnie would come back. But, she didn't. A tall person with flowing black hair had taken care of her, but it wasn't the same. The imp gurgled sadly, wishing for a sugary biscuit. Then she heard... no, it couldn't be. But there was a white blondie there that looked like Bonnie. Then Blondie held open her arms and Artemis knew it was her Bonnie. She giggled with excitement and crawled into her Bonnie's arms, hugging her.

Carter ran excitedly all the way from the Gryffindor tower when he heard the good news. Kali was here! On the grounds!!!

He raced toward the nursery. If he was a girl he would have probably squealed in excitement. But he wasn't a girl. Instead he grinned stupidly and walked around until he spotted Kali. And there she was!

"Kali!" he exclaimed spotting the crup. After hearing her name the little crup perked up and ran toward the gate of her cage. He opened the door of the cage and the little crup pounced on him.

"It's good to see you too." Carter said laughing as the crup licked his face.

Marie was excited as she ran down to the nursery. She had learned that Frankie was still there so she couldn't wait to see him. She had missed him like crazy over the summer. She hadn't been sure he would still be here when she got back. Hopefully Kali would be here too, then she could play with both of them.

As she ran into the nursery towards Frankie's cage she came to a sudden stop when she seen Carter there. Yep, that must mean Kali was still here too. As happy as she was to see Carter she was also nervous about it. Would he actually talk to her this time or would he make an excuse to get away from her again?

Walking to Frankie's cage she opened it and let him run out at her. "Frankie, I missed you!" she said as he jumped up on her. "I see Kali is happy to see you too," I'm happy to see you too she said to Carter.

Carter looked up when he heard Marie. "Yeah. Well, I was worried about her all summer. I'm glad that she's still here." he said happily while petting Kali. Then, realizing he mentioned the summer he half-hoped Marie wasn't actually listening to what he said. Would she get all defensive? Because, really, he had thought about Marie too. He even wrote her. It wasn't his fault that they never got to her.

Yeah. He wasn't the one at fault here. He just needed to remind himself of that. He found Kali's leash that Marie got her and put it on Kali. "Well, I'm going to go take Kali on a walk. She seems to be ready to get out of here." he said as the crup pulled on the leash heading toward the door.

The crup then pulled on the leash harder. "Wow, Kali, you got stronger over the summer." Carter said following behind the crup. And with that he headed out to the enclosed area to walk Kali.

Marie hugged Frankie as he jumped on her. She couldn't believe how big he had gotten over the summer. Pretty soon she would have to be getting him a new collar, which would mean Kali would probably need a new one too. "Yeah, I was worried too. I'm glad they're both still here." she said. She had been more worried about Carter coming home safe from Russia but why bring that up now. It would probably just start an argument, which she didn't want to do. Especially since he was talking to her and not trying to get away from her.

Well, that lasted about a whole two minutes. It seemed Carter still couldn't stand to be around her for more than two minutes at a time. Now he was using Kali as an excuse to get away from her. "Oh, yeah, you should probably take her out then since she wants to go." or is it you just can't wait to get away from me again? She held back the tears that threatened to appear as she watched him leave with Kali. He must really not want to be around her if he didn't even want to see if Frankie wanted to play with Kali... which was something they did all the time last term.

Turning back to Frankie she grabbed his rope toy and sat on the floor with him. "Hey boy, wanna play?" she said waving the toy in front of him and trying to sound cheerful.

After about fifteen minutes of playing she put the toy away and got out the treats she had brought for him and Kali. "Time to go back in your cage boy," she said as she put the treats in his bowl. She then filled his water bowl before closing his cage. Looking over at Kali's cage she wondered if Carter would care if she left Kali's treats for her. Deciding to leave them anyway she went and put them in her bowl. She then decided to write a note to Carter.

Sitting on the floor she pulled out some parchment and a pen from her bag and wrote a quick note.


After signing her name she added a PS at the bottom of the note then attached it to Kali's cage where Carter would see it. It seems a note is the only way she is going to get to tell him anything since he won't talk to her for more than two minutes at a time. After putting her things away she went to Frankie's cage, petted him and told him she would be back to visit again soon.

She then left the nursery... with tears running down her cheeks.

Carter returned from his walk with Kali to see that Marie was already gone. Weird, Frankie must have been tired of something.

"Alright girl, ready to go back in?" he asked his little not-as-little-as-before crup. He opened Kali's cage door and noticed a piece of parchment fall down. Weird. Was that there before?

After securing Kali in her cage and refilling her food and water he picked up the parchment from the floor. He then gathered his things and began to leave. As he left he read the note. It was from Marie.

And she was apologizing...?

Maybe Marie finally cooled down and they could talk about what happened. That is, if he could find her again. And if she started acting like his Marie again.
