On a wall in the Hufflepuff Common Room, a large and very well used notice board is affixed. It is adorned in the usual yellow and black decorations, as well covered in notices containing announcements or advertisements. Be sure to check them out before going to breakfast or going to sleep!

Divination Final Exam!

The final exam for this term will begin on November 17th at approximately 2 PM EST. If you have not completed your three dreams in the Dream Diary thread, you have until this time to do so! Once the final exam starts, the Dream Diary thread WILL be closed to further posting and you cannot receive full credit on the final exam if your three dreams have not been completed at that time.

• Care of Magical Creatures Lesson #3 •

☛ When: Saturday November 13th - Classroom opens @ around 6pm EST and will be open for atleast a couple of days.
☛ Where: Care of Magical Creatures area
☛ Who can attend: 1st-7th years.
☛ Why? Please tell me you are not actually wondering that.

☛ Bring the usual (and any creature you might have stolen from a previous lesson). I trust you know what it is by now.
Also wear comfortable clothes that you are not afraid of getting dirty. I won't be responsible for any ripping, glueing or shredding of garment or limbs.

Anyone who does not follow my classroom rules will be sorry.

Happening right now as part of Lesson III. Even if you're not already there, come on down (and just pretend you have been). The instructions have been edited into the first post for ease of reference. (Hint: You get to build things and set stuff on fire. )

A drawing of your shelter made in class, labeled with how you generated each piece. (This must be an original from you. No photos of commercial tents, etc).

Accompanying your picture, please write a paragraph or two why you made the choices you did, and whether, if given the chance, you would do anything differently.

If you do not participate in the practical, you may submit this portion as if you had.

This is due no later than midnight (EST), November 21st (5am GMT, November 22nd). Anything submitted after this time will not be able to be graded for points.

Arithmancy Homework Three

As we discussed with the number nine, in one's lifetime, a nine-year cycle occurs repeatedly, which is also called a numerological cycle. Your life is operating on repeated nine-year cycles, each year having a number which has a particular meaning. This meaning is your theme for the year, also called your personal year.

Find your personal year number for the following years in your life:

- When you were born
- When you started Hogwarts
- The current year
- When you will graduate Hogwarts

Please show all calculations necessary to find these numbers and describe what each number means for you and your life.

This assignment is worth 16 points
Due: November 20th, 11:59pm EST
Also note that while I'm generally lenient, if you submit late THIS time, you risk not being able to earn points for the assignment.

Part One: (worth 10 points)

Pick any famous battle in history, magical or non, and discuss how it was viewed through the eyes of both a magical and muggle. Please include how the two would differ in view points and why this difference was present.

Part Two: (worth 10 points)

Discuss a magical event, person, or place what was depicted in either a fairy tale, legend, myth, or superstition. Include how it was viewed and any backstory to it. Include how it was spread throughout history and why it may hold an important in history.

Part Three: (worth 10 points)

Choose one inhabitant of Hogwarts and in their eyes, describe how they would have viewed an historical event at Hogwarts. Do site events and just how their own personal experiences might sway how they reacted to such events.



OCC: I'm looking for at least 3-4 paragraphs minimum for each part. Each paragraph should at least be four sentences long. You will have until midnight EST of November 22 to submit the final. There will be no credit for late entries.
