On a wall in the Hufflepuff Common Room, a large and very well used notice board is affixed. It is adorned in the usual yellow and black decorations, as well covered in notices containing announcements or advertisements. Be sure to check them out before going to breakfast or going to sleep!
[Announcements = classes, homework, tryouts, etc. Official School occurances here only, please!]
Transfiguration is now opened. Head over there, Professor Kingsley likes a full classroom. And since we don't like show-offs, do not announce your late arrival if the class has started, just pretend you've been there the whole time.
Also, Potions is open too. Go ahead and earn us Huffies points! Lafay doesn't enjoy late arrivals, so don't announce yours or you'll make Huffies lose points if the class has started *glares*.
Think of a scenario (or use one we discussed in class) in which you would normally use a defensive or offensive spell. Practice thinking "outside the box" and brainstorm five OTHER spells you could use in this situation. Remember that you may NOT use the following spells:
☛ When: Saturday October 16th - Classroom opens @ around 6pm EST and will be open for atleast a couple of days. ☛ Where:Care of Magical Creatures area ☛ Who can attend: 1st-7th years. ☛ Why? Because you need to know what to do if you get attacked by something with six legs. Or...not. Your call.
☛ Bring nothing to this class that you fear might get eaten, lost, pierced by a semi-poisonous fang or get destroyed. Or killed. Wear sturdy shoes and bring your thick gloves - you'll be needing them.
Maybe a helmet, if you got one. Though, I will probably tell you to take it off.
Anyone who does not follow my classroom rules will be sorry.

Potions Assignment 3
Description: Create puking pastiles. PM me your recipe, (ingredients and instructions). Once you are done, use the pastile on either yourself or a volunteer and puke on Lexi Carlton's office door. In the PM send me a link to the post where you puke, or you watch your volunteer puke.

If you send me the recipe (Ingredient List/Instruction) and you or the victim gets pukey somewhere fun, you'll get 7 points...
If you send me the recipe (Ingredient List/Instruction) and you or the victim gets pukey on Lexi's door, you'll get 10 points...

☛ Assignment: Use the toy spiders and practice the Arania Exumai spell on them around the school. PM me (all) the links of atleast 5 posts where you show me how the practicing process goes. You may practice with a friend, but you still need to post a minimum of 5 times each (you are being graded individually).
I do not expect your character to be an expert on the spell. Development is great!
Also, in the PM, write a small paragraph on what else you think the spell could be used on, or what else it could be useful for, and explain why you came to that conclusion. Be creative – but do not practice it on other living things or Maya will not be happy.
OOC: A paragraph...not half a page ; )
☛ Points Worth: 10 points – with a chance for 5 extra points.
☛ Notes: You can submit this homework even if you did not attend the class – just RP as if you did.
Send me the links in one PM (sending me a different link in separate PMs will not be accepted). If you submit different versions of homework, only the first will be graded.
Follow the proper guidelines on how to submit homework, here. Failure to do so could result in deduction of points and/or your homework not being graded. At all.

Take as much time as you need to study the creatures I’ve placed around the room. Chat with your friends, take very good notes, draw and label sketches, and then you are dismissed to prepare your homework assignment.
For each creature, you must:
* Correctly identify the creature
* Describe the physical attributes of the creature and any characteristic behaviors
* Describe one magical way to handle the creature.
* Describe one non-magical way to handle the creature.
* Optional: Sketch and label one of the creatures for a bonus.
Points: This assignment is worth the full 20 class points.
Due: November 9, 2010 midnight EST
Station 1
The water in the aquarium is murky and dark, in spite of the lighting in the room. You may be tempted to think it is simply an empty tank until a face like a demon monkey smashes against the glass. The strong scaled hands that pound futilely against the tank sides are webbed.
Station 2
A squat cage sits on another desk. The creature inside is fierce looking in spite of his gnomish little face, glaring at any onlookers with red eyes and occasionally beckoning toward the lock on the cage with its long fingernails.
Station 3
Another aquarium sits near the windows, although this one contains no water. Instead, it seems to hold a large, gray rock. Strange.
Station 4
The last station is simply a trunk placed on the floor. It rattles from time to time, but the heavily charmed lock will keep you from opening it. What could be inside?
ooc: Please do NOT share answers in this thread. You can RP to your heart’s content, but please do not give anything away.
SO. Answer the questions above and PM them to Cassirin the usual way you would a homework. All the information you need is right here in this post.
And remember, if you play IC in class, DON'T give away any answers! This is due THIS TUESDAY, so c'mon Badgers and let's pull ahead of Ravenclaw!!!!!
