Abby loved how the temperature got colder as she climbed the tower and entered the Astronomy classroom. Cold, good. Hot, bad. Blehh, summer. She was glad it was autumn.

The professor was nowhere in sight. She slid on in anyway and sat herself down all nice and quietly at a seat close to the back.

Rowan walked up to the Astronomy classroom. It looks like I'm early she thought. The Professor's not here yet. She noticed an older girl sitting in the back of the room and decided to introduce herself as she took a seat nearby. "Hi, I'm Rowan," she smiled at the girl.

Cedric sauntered into the room, and immediately contemplated the place. Noticing a small stove near the front, he planned to take one of the seats of that area as it was getting relatively cold now that winter is rapidly approaching.

Taking the seat he desired to occupy, an unforeseen thought occurred to him. Where is Professor Antares? Subsequently, Cedric stewed for a minute, and later reasoned to drop the matter. Perhaps the Astronomy professor would come forth soon. And he was just enthusiastic about what they were going to study today.

Humming cheerfully and carrying a large cup of coffee (not tea for once), Risu entered the open classroom. He was not surprised to find the majority of his students still absent. This was a bad time of the day for Astronomy - the first afternoon period, just after lunch, and a lot students, especially those who were older, elected different subjects with which to fill their timetables.

"Hello... Good afternoon..." Risu said brightly to those who had shown up so far, walking past them on his way to the desk. He put the coffee down carefully. "We'll wait for a little while before we begin, I think. Give some of the other students time to finish their food and make it up here." He smiled at the assembled not-multitudes.

"How are you doing? Are you enjoying all the excitement around the, er Triwizard Tournament?" Risu had to admit he didn't know much about it. In his opinion, it was rather dangerous, and did not involve enough astronomy.

Lexi made her way up to the Astronomy tower... Sigh. She never really had come to many Astronomy lessons, but figured she would give it a try this term. Yeah. Despite the fact that Professor Antares had nearly given her detention for snogging Finlay she was pretty interested in the class.

Not seeing anyone she knew she took a seat about the middle of the room and took out a roll of parchment and her self inking quill and waited. Meh.

Then he appeared. Good, she did not like waiting one bit, Heh.

"Good day, Professor," she called out to him as she averted her eyes and blushed slightly. Not cool to remember being caught.

Marie walked into the Astronomy classroom and was surprised to see that she had made it there before any of her friends. "Good afternoon Professor," she said as she walked to the back of the room and took a seat.

Hopefully today she would be able to keep up with the lesson. This was one class that confused the heck out of her.

And there came their Astronomy professor!

Cedric tolerantly regarded the ardent fire of the small stove as it danced about, apparently a bit preoccupied. But then he obligingly shifted his attention, in a nick of time, to their professor who had just arrived.

"Good, sir. Doing good. And oh, TWT seems fun but yeah, we can't hide the fact that it's downright precarious." He would had been much satisfied and animated about the said tournament if he'd been picked as one of the champions.

But that Goblet of Fire... Silly, silly goblet.

Pam walked into the room. This was a class she WAS looking forward too. She loved everything to do about stars.

She found a seat in the front, and brought out a book from her bag. It was one she had brought from her home. It was a fairly good book. So she was quite absorbed in it.

How delightful, Rowan thought to herself. Another pleasant professor. She was worried about encountering another like that Potions professor. "Good afternoon , Sir,"she replied. "I've been avoiding the whole Tournament. Honestly, I find the whole thing a bit terrifying."

"Good day, Professor," Kurumi said bowing as she entered the room. She was getting more comfortable with meeting professor's for the first time finally.

Kurumi recognized the girl sitting in the front of the room from the pumpkin patch the other day. While they had not spoken, she figured that there was no time like the present. Placing her textbook, parchment, and quill on the table, she sat down. "Hi," she said smiling nervously. "I'm Kurumi."

Keefer made his way up to the Astronomy tower. Huffing and puffing from the long staircase, he walked into the classroom only to find that he was one of the first ones there. "Hullo, Professor! Great day for some Astronomy, isn't it?"

She's been running all way up to the Astronomy class room, partly afraid that she was late and partly she looked forward to the first lesson. She kind of 'too excitedly' dashed into the room to see there were some students along with the Professor.. chatting.

She stopped for a minute breathing heavily and then with a bright smile, "Sorry for the abrupt enterance..I ... well, Hello Professor." And she nodded to the present students whom she didn't recognize any of them and walked over to a seat and threw her stuff on it.

YEY ASTRONOMY!

Quite out of character for Jack, you'd think he'd like Defence Against the Dark Arts, but he did find Astronomy really fascinating. and, considering home-schooling meant his parents could be selective on the curriculum, Jack was rather excited that he got to be taught something that actually sounded interesting, and not monotinous at all. Yey for not boring things! "Heyyy Professor." Jack said excitedly, taking a seat at the front, grinning as he did so. Wheeee! Planets and stuff.

Norah walked almost silently into the classroom. She was wearing a slightly heavier cloak to keep her a little warmer, the girl had a constant fear of becoming ill from any sort of wintery chill. Her bag was slung over her right shoulder and was obviously more full than usual.

She quietly made her way to the middle of the room and took a seat, taking out her notepad, quill, and ink vial.

Freya made her way up to the Astronomy Tower. She was looking forward to this class. She caught a few breath before entering the classroom. She pushed the door open. She looked around and saw that the Professor already there. "Hello Professor. How are you doing?" she asked smiling.

Jacqueline walked in the classroom. ''Hello professor. How are you?'' and she sat somewhere in the front. She was really excited for this class.

Ah Astronomy.

Now here was a lesson she most certainly enjoyed, and she really liked the Professor too. Especially after their little cup of tea at the Lake session last year. Random but extremely cool. The Slytherin made her way into the classroom with a huge grin. "Hello Professor! How was your summer?" she asked with a bright smile.

The Blonde made her way over to a desk and patiently waited for the Lesson to begin. Where was everyone she knew? Well that was no good, she had no one to sit with...

*Pout*

Carin sauntered into the Astronomy classroom, pulling her multi-coloures scarf tighter around her neck. It was colder than she'd expected. Looking around, she decided that sitting by the windows would not be a good idea - there were probably lots of drafts there. Picking a spot by the wall which, although cold at least didn't let any wind through, she waited for class to begin.

Risu was pleased to see that, after a little while, his classroom did begin to fill up more. Slowly, but steadily - which gave him time to finish his coffee. Being seen drinking it during his lesson would probably lead to enraged owls arriving from some of the parents or school governors, demanding to know just what he was getting paid for. And for some of them, enraged owls were not a metaphor.

He chatted with the students in-between taking long sips. Yes, he nodded, he was well, and his summer had been fun. No, he didn't really follow the Triwizard Tournament either. Maybe he would have to do that soon.

The cup was finally empty. He put it on the desk and leaned against it, clapping his hands once to get everyone's attention. "If I could ask all of you to direct your attention towards me for a little while..." He smiled. "Welcome to Astronomy. Welcome back for most of you, I assume, but for everyone who doesn't know me, I'm Professor Risu Antares. And yes, I do teach Astronomy here."

He shifted his weight onto his other leg. "My lesson plan this year looks as follows: We shall try to compile a comprehensive look at the history of our cosmos. This will indeed take up most of this term, I think, but it will lay a solid foundation for a number of following lessons that will concern themselves with... life in this Universe." He paused for a moment. "Most likely. The purpose of this lesson," Risu went on, "is more of an introductory nature. We will cover some basic knowledge, to be followed in the next lessons by a closer look at a few specific theories that best describe nature."

He stopped leaning against the desk. "Let's begin, then. As you learned last year, the term 'astronomy' encompasses a large number of very different sciences. Does anyone know, perhaps even remember, the name of the scientific discipline that deals with the large-scale structure of the Universe, as well as, by extension, its origins?"

Lexi raised her hand tentatively and took a stab at it... "Sir, is a branch known as physical cosmology?" she kind of answer!asked. She wasn't positive after all. Heh. She shifted in her seat and waited for the man to confirm or deny... most likely deny since she was terrible at Astronomy.

Her memory was bad, how was she meant to remember anything from last term??

Though she SHOULD seeing as she had taken an Owl in it and everything. It should be fine. Just needed to wrack her brains until it came up with an answer. Could take some time then. Study of Large Scale structures? Ooooooh....

"Is that Cosmology professor?" she asked. But that was just a general term wasn't it? There was more detail to that. "Or more specifically Physical Cosmology?" the Blonde smiled as she answered.

Jack, who was already excited that the lesson had begun, raised his hand. "Would that be Cosmology sir?" Since he hadn't really been taught any of this before, he wasn't exactly sure. So it was more of a question than an answer.

Louisa listened to Professor Antares while he spoke and she like blinked five times in a row just to let herself keep focusing. Was that English? She looked around to the rest of the class to see that none of them looked puzzled as she did. Well, maybe it was the letter she reciever today. Shrug.

She repeated his question in her mind and thought about it for a minute. No she didn't have the answer but she could try, "Sir, could it be related to Physical cosmology?"

Oh, I should know this! He closed his eyes and mimed writing in the air. It helped him remember his notes from last year. Origins... structure... universe... cosmology? That's too vague--which kind? Metaphysical, no. Just physical? Perhaps...

Seeing that he wasn't the only one to be unsure, he stuck up both hands into the air to be called on. "I feel like it's physical cosmology, Sir, but I could be way off."

Could be? He probably was. But it can't hurt to give it a shot, especially when Hufflepuff was already in last place.
