Another year at Hogwarts was underway, which also meant it was time for another lesson of Arithmancy. Having awoke early that morning, Fina headed down to make sure the classroom was set up. Several rows . . . ten in a row. Still perfect.
Cracking open the windows just a bit to create some airflow, Fina then took a seat behind her desk and began flipping through a textbook. Without looking up, she flicked her wand and the door opened allowing students to enter. Flicking it again behind her, words appeared on the board behind her:
Quote:
Please take your seats. The lesson will begin shortly.
ooc: You should know my rules by now. If you don't, please familiarize yourself with them before posting.
Class has begun. Late admittance will not be tolerated, so please pretend as though your character has been here the whole time. =)

But then, once again out of nowhere (things seemed to do that in this maze), a number NINE landed in front of them.
"Huh?!" she gasped, staring at it. "But I thought we were only looking for sevens and twos? What's this nine doing here?!" Stupid nine. Now they had to work out how to get rid of it. "So. Any ideas?" she asked.

What was it with these interrupting bloomin numbers.....? Hang on, since when were they supposed to come across the number 9. That wasn't in the rules!
After flailing a little whilst looking at the giant number Trix turned to Vashti with an eyebrow raised. "Thats supposed to be the perfect number right? But it also translates into something about... Well I think its Metamorphosis, so maybe we are supposed to transfigure it into something imperfect" she suggested. Like another number maybe....
She was sure determined to get out of there... he thought with a smile on his face, at least she couldn't see that being behind him. "Wait! Over there..." he says seeing a table down another path.
Ellie peeked from behind him.
Another table? Seriously. What was up with these tables appearing?
"Do.... do we trust the table?" Who knew. Maybe it was a trick to lure little kiddies to their doom.

Leilani bolted off around the next corner. Right, right, right... no left! She walked forward cautiously. She'd cone to a long stretch with no turns. Hmm, mabey it was just a really long dead end?
She ran forward as fast as she could, counting off the seconds she'd been running in her head. Three, four, five, six, seven-- WHAM!! Leilani collided, face first with another invisible wall. Oooooww. She touched her hand to her face and found blood running down from her nose. Siiigh, only her. The girl jerked a tissue out of her pocket and held her nose with it.
"Duffunbo!" she said, though it didn't come out quite right seeing as she was holding a tissue to her face. The spell didn't seem to have worked anyways. Pulling the tissue away for a moment, she called out "Confringo!" What appeared to be glass shattered to the ground to reveal a seven... And a dead end. Great.
Lani immediately took off running in the other direction, making a right at the turn.
Another table? Seriously. What was up with these tables appearing?

Squeezing her hand, he nods "I think so..." walking closer, he looks down at it oddly. He had a feeling his eyebrow was going to stay in the position it seemed to have been in since they got in the maze itself.
There were only 2 legs it was balancing on...2! It was wobbling pretty badly too. "Ummm, I think we better fix it." Remembering a transfiguration spell when he sees 2 sticks on the on the floor, he transfigures them into legs and using his wand attaches them to the table.
Suddenly the table moves to the left revealing a knob on the wall. "A door?!?!" he says surprised.

That... wasn't safe. Tables didn't balance well on two legs. But.. but if they fixed it, it would be four... and four was a number they didn't talk about. Ellie didn't like this. Not at all.
"No. No door." Why would a door be in a maze, anyway? "Let's go some other way." She tried to pull him to go back in front of her, but facing the other direction.
She didn't like the door.

"A'right El." he says softly. He really didn't like the idea of the door either. Especially if he had made a mistake...I mean there were 2 legs missing and putting to on made 4 which wasn't a 2 or 7.
He had a feeling if he opened that door they'd be out of the maze, and he didn't want that, that was for sure. Turning back the way they'd come he sees another path off to the right and takes it. Seeing some thing or a bunch of somethings bouncing around ahead of them, he wonders what in Merlin's name were they now coming to.

Adam smiled, he finally did some magic. He felt the energy surging through him. He clapped on Keefer's hands and walked over the rumble. "Nice job, man."He congradulated him.

That. Was a good plan.

Jenny thanked the professor as she accepted the chocolate and was about to eat it when suddenly, walls appeared. Jenny groaned. Another MAZE???!!! The professor and the headmaster must be friends or something, because they certainly love mazes...a little too much.
"So um..." Jenny started, but she forgot what she about to say next. She was too concentrated on figuring out where to go next. So only numbers huh? She wondered if Kurumi liked doing mazes too.
Running down a winding section of the maze, Patroclus stopped dead still when he heard a noise behind him.
Floating behind him, was a huge number '7'.
Knowning that the boy had seen it, the number began to float towards him, it growing in size with every inch it move. Patroclus couldn't be sure, but he knew that if the number swallowed him it would not be good.
Whipping out his wand, and in a natural instinct, he cried "Stupefy!" but it went right through the Seven.
He remembered what the Professor had said, confront it with knowledge
It was growing closer and closer, walking back Patroclus found he was pinned against a wall, with the Seven looming over him.
Being the multi lingual boy he was, "Siete is you in Spanish, Sept in French, Sette in Italian!"
The Seven began to waver, and then exploded, not harming the boy, but destorying the wall behind him!

Not two minutes after passing throughthe two door Josey came across another door, this one marked with a seven. Taped to the door was a plain piece of paper. But it was pink, not as good as purple but good. Anywho...The sign said; "Stay on your toes." Ok, Josey had to be prepared. Josey took out her wand before opening the dor and alking in.
She was in a hallway, it was dark; she couldn't see a thing. "Lumos," Kosey whispered. It didn't help much, there was nothing to see. Bt at least she could see. Josey walked into the hallway and the door slammed shut behind her, oh great. She walked down the hallway, just starting to get bored when a fire appeared in front of he, then another and another. Thinking quick Josey said, "Aguamenti." One by one she put out the fires.
A couple steps later something came flying at her. She screamed in suprise and instinctively put her hands in front of her face. After a minute she took them away the somehing else came flying at her. She was scared half to death but she thrust out her wand and yelled, "Petrificus Totalus!" The thing stopes and she rushed forward. Expecing something else to come at her Josey was watching the side and her back so she didn't even notice the door until she smacked into it. Rubbing het swollen nose she backed up and turnedte handle. Nothing. Relieved at an easy, and non terrifying, test Josey said, "Alohamora." The door opened and Josey rushed on.

Shrugging he had no idea whatsoever. "I don't know." he said honestly. Turning to look at the bouncing numbers he realized they were all 2's and 7's. Well that made sense... he thought they were looking for 2's and 7's. But what were they supposed to do with them? he had no idea.
Sighing he leans back against the wall, this was their 5th one... What were they supposed to do, and how many more were there? Totally at a loss, he counts the different bouncing numbers "1..2...3..4...no 3...4...2...no that's 5..." Looking exasperrated he couldn't count the darn things with them bouncing around.
Grabbing the closest 2, all the bouncing numbers, suddenly stop bouncing making a path for them to walk between. His jaw dropping, he glances back at Ellie who was still behind him. Ahead of them he saw something...
Jacob looked around at all the walls that grew around him... Another Maze! FUN!!!!! Jacob started running around corners. Wow No Numbers yet? Amazing! Jacob was good at this. "WHEEEEE" he exclaimed, before

Jacob ran full force into a wall! His nose smashed into his face "ouch..." he said softly and rather monotonously. It would probably have been pretty funny if he wasn't the was that just broke their nose from hitting a wall. But he fell to the ground, and passed out as the blood started streaming out of his nose.
He could have sworn that there wasn't a wall there before... it just like, jumped in front of him...

Being a fan of the class, Simon had expected it to be one of the tamer lessons. But as the professor spoke up after commenting on their answers, the Gryffindor boy knew he was in for trouble. Great....another maze, he thought to himself with a sigh as the walls of said maze started to grow up around them, dividing the class suddenly.
Looking around, Simon debated which way to go, finally opting to go to the left and slowly making his way along the path. As he walked, he thought of what the woman had meant by dealing with the possible obstacles that might stand in his way.
Shrugging he had no idea whatsoever. "I don't know." he said honestly. Turning to look at the bouncing numbers he realized they were all 2's and 7's. Well that made sense... he thought they were looking for 2's and 7's. But what were they supposed to do with them? he had no idea.

Uhm.... Ellie sighed. She watched him work. How he knew what to do with everything...she didn't understand. But... as long as they got OUT, she was okay with it.
She nodded towards the path. "Gooo. Go and I'll come if it's out. If it's not... I may just take a nap. Right here." Because she was done. Being lost and freaking out, and not understanding stuff was a lot to take in. And very tiring. So... she just wanted it to be overrr.

HMPH. Stupid number 9
"So...transfigure it into another number then?" Vashti asked her friend. "A number that isn't nine or seven? Makes sense, I guess." She shrugged. This was a rather strange game but kinda cool all the same. After a few seconds discussion on whether they could remember a spell like that in a textbook and what the incantation might, the two girls raised their wands, spoke the incantation, and watched as the giant nine transfigured into a five then disappeared.
"Yay!" cheered Vashti, grinning.

Being in the classroom the WHOLE time, Destiny knew exactly what was going on. No, actually she did not. All she knew was there was a piece of choooocolate on her desk and well, she wanted to eat it. As she picked it up to SHOVE it in her mouth, the room started going wonky, and she had for a second, thought Evelyn had messed with her chocolate. You know, have her think she was crazy so she'd stop eating it?
Well, you failed Evelyn. If whichever room she was in transformed into a maze everytime she ate chocolate, she'd just eat more and more and MORE! That's if there is chocolate in the maze. Orrr, how about a maze of chocolate? That sounded good. She'd eat her way through.
But this was not Evelyn's doing, nope. It was the Professor's. She didn't know about Destiny and her chocolate eating habit, so this maze had to do with class.
Shoving the chocolate in her mouth she pulled out her wand. 'Twas a dark maze. A very dark maze.. "Evelyn?" she whispered, glancing around looking for her.
Nowhere.
Deciding she didn't want to just stand there anymore, she cast a quiet 'Lumos' and made a left turn. "EVELYN! Where are youuuuu?"

DEAD PERSON!?
Professor Hadley was a MONSTER for having dead people roam the maze! What was she getting at? Trying to scare the bertie bott's out of everyone? Sure, it was October and all, but the Professor didn't need to have DEAD people walking around the maze.
Morbid lady.
Standing, almost frozen as she heard the words of the dead person, Destiny held her wand up a little. The light, hopefully, would scare the dead person instead of the dead person scaring her. Scare those dead people dead! Only looking in one direction, which was not smart when there were dead people walking around, she turned ever so slightly at the sound of footsteps.
Was it getting extra cold, or was it just her imagination?
With a slight shiver, Destiny turned fully around to face the dead person coming her way when..
SMACK!!!
A DEAD PERSON HAD COLLIDED HEADS WITH HER!
Falling and landing on her bottom, Destiny's non-wand hand immediately went to her forehead to rub away the pain. "OWWWW!!" she yelled, which was no help for the headache she could feel coming, "Watch where I'm going? You're the dead one, YOU watch it!"
It was obviously really dark since she had no idea it was Evelyn.

"Thanks Professor," Marie said as she took the candy. She had just popped it in her mouth when it was as if the classroom disappeared. There she was standing in what appeared to be a maze of some sort. Well this was interesting.
Not seeing anyone around her she decided it was best to try and find her way out of here... wherever here was. It appeared as if her only options were going straight or going left. Since she didn't see anyone ahead of her she decided to go to the left. Maybe she would run into her friends and they would be able to tell her how to get out of there.

Hehe of course she knew she wasn't dead. "I'm not dead." Evelyn said defensively, trying to get up but finding FEET in her way. Gah! "Maybe you're the dead one. Can't even move to get out of my way!" Kicking the feet, or whatever it was, slightly, the Slytherin finally got up, only to notice her wand was not in her hand. Crud.

Nodding, JD squeezes her hand one last time before letting his fingers trail out of hers. Walking toward the red thingy he saw ahead of him, he realizes it was a dot. Had they done it? he wondered. He had no idea. Looking around for a sign of some sort, he cries out, horrified.
"Jacob!" he shouts bolting over to where he was right next to a wall, unconscious. Yanking out his wand that he'd stuck into his pocket when he'd investigated the red thing, he points it upward shooting out red sparks.

Stupid falling making the stupid light go out on her not so stupid anymore wand.
Still rubbing her forehead, Destiny rolled her eyes at the dead person. Pffft, they were in denial of being dead, and she would have said that, but the dead person had kicked her! "Hey!" she said, trying to kick the deady back. Dead people, resorting to violence. She figured the person must have died in a violent way There was no reason to reply to the comment about her being dead. She knew she was alive, no need to give the dead person another reason to haunt her.
As she heard the ghost mention their wand, she stopped rubbing her forehead, and placed her hand on the ground next to herself. What do you know? There it was! Easy enough. Standing up and not bothering to wipe herself off, since she had a wand in each hand, it would be kinda difficult, she took a step closer to the dead person, "Here it is." she said, holding the wand out, "Just stop haunting me."
Finally brushing herself off, she held her own wand out in front of herself, "Lumos."

She smiled. She had figured it out. She was smart, like how she had read about number seven. "Well you are in Ravenclaw." She said to herself.
The problem platered itself on the wall, and the bricks disappeared to the exit. YAY! She had found the exit.
Noting a student find the way out of the maze, Fina smiled at the young one. Clearly a motivated student with an aptitude for . . . directions. "Congrats," she said encouragingly and was about to offer her the surprise when . . .

CRACK!

What was with her and running into people that looked dead!? This happened to her in the last maze as well! Although, that guy wasn't bleeding. "Dead person....PERSON! MAN DOWN!"

"Jacob!" he shouts bolting over to where he was right next to a wall, unconscious. Yanking out his wand that he'd stuck into his pocket when he'd investigated the red thing, he points it upward shooting out red sparks.
"ELLIE!" he yells toward her.
Screams of a dead person and red sparks had Josephina bolt upward. She might have been enjoying watching the struggles, but if there was any chance that there was REALLY a dead person in her classroom, she did still have a heart to come to their aid. Flicking her wand, the dimmed lights rose to create more light in the maze as she found her way toward the sparks.
"Oh my! Someone clot his nose!" Ugh, there was a reason she didn't go into healing. And it wasn't just because her mother and sister were in that field. No, it was that, Fina didn't cope well with blood. Feeling queasy, she pinched her own nostrils with one hand as she used her wand to conjure a handkerchief and put it to the boy's nose. "He needs air.... Give him space!"
With that, she performed a levitation charm on him to hopefully get him out of the maze. Cheating perhaps, but he was the one to pass out.
