On the other side of Professor Maya's hut lies a large grassy area, surrounded by a 4 feet tall wooden fence. Here, approximately* 20 different animals, that can be found in a muggle farm, roam free in the enclosure. Even if the creatures are not your regular magical beings, it doesn't mean they are not special. So please, treat them with care.
Go ahead, step inside through the little doorway.
Spend some time with the goats and pigs. Why not give Nelson – the gentle Belted Galloway calf – a treat? Be careful of our small furry friends, the rabbits, and make sure you say hello to the cotton-soft sheep. Help feed the chickens and roosters and pay attention to the ducks – they are ever so cute.
You will find everything you need to help take care of the animals in the little shed, right outside the enclosure. In there you'll find rakes and shovels to help keep the area clean, and also clean rags and buckets for various uses. The shed is stocked with food for the animals, Maya makes sure it's fresh – it's important you give them the right designated food, and nothing else or they can get sick. See the food list pinned onto the wall.
When you decide to take a rest, remember to put the things back where they were, so others can find them easily next time. Quote:

Okay, now he really had to wonder what made his hand so interesting. Blinking up at her he tried to ignore the once again absent-mindedness that seemed to be plaguing him and gave her a soft frown, forcing himself to focus on her words. "I would have thought you would have loved the chance to be a bird...or other creature. Wouldn't it be interesting to see from their point of view? Experience what they experience?" A small grin broke across his face. "I almost wish I was a year younger, just to see what it would have been like."
Then there was the beard thing and his smile turned into a puzzled frown, his fingers twitching slightly as she spread them. "Are asking me to look like an old man?"

Shaking her head, she turned her eyes towards Sabel's. "Nope. Not after that potions accident first year." Had she told him about that? "Some kid messed up their potion and exploded their cauldron, everyone was covered in a pink sticky goo. Gave me kneazle ears, a tail, fur, and eyes. Made me act like one to, no fun." Especially since she had to go to the hospital wing. "I prefer to play with them. I like the mystery of not knowing how there lives differ from ours." She grinned at his comment. "Or you could just get Kingsley to transform you into one."
Again she shook her head, eyes flicking towards the chicks as they began to wake. "Old people aren't the only ones with facial hair. Just.....if you start to grow some facial hair, keep it and let me know if it itches or not." Cause she couldn't grow facial hair, being a girl and all.

Wide eyed, Sabel blinked at her. "I didn't hear about that." This girl, had no luck in potions at all. He hoped she didn't chose a profession involving it. "I see your point. Though," he waggled one of his fingers at her, "talking to Kingsley for a day trial does sound curious."
Then his grin widened even more. "Well, I suppose I could do that...not sure if I'll ever end up growing any though." Another rub to his chin with his free hand. "But if you're interested, you could always talk to Kingsley too." Grin grin.

"Maybe you have to wait a few more years," She mused with a grin; it wasn't like she knew how the facial hair thing worked. She giggled a bit, wondering how Kingsley would react to them wanting him to transfigure Sabel into a bird and give him facial hair. "Would should go ask him, if only to see how he would react."

Laughing, Sabel shook his head, which was more of a roll about on the ground. "I'm sure he would stare at us like we were deranged. One student wanting to be a bird and the other wanting a beard." He tried very hard not to disturb the chicks. "Probably would send us to the hospital wing first. Unless of course he was in need of amusement."

Peeking at him between his fingers, a small grin spread across her face. "A keep us there to make sure we hadn't taken some potion or been hit by a stray spell." The last bit of his comment made her giggle. "I doubt he would do that. Care to much about his students safety."

He blushed himself the faintest bit, realizing what he had said to her, but his grin remained. "I'm sure you were, even throwing a hissy fit." Innocence.
"And you never know. Headmaster Tate cares for our safety, but I'm sure he is not above harmless amusement every now and then...like oh say paintball on school grounds." Because leaving a classroom dripping wet with multicolored paint globs was the best way to start off a year. "Or he might use it as a class lesson...something along the lines of 'be careful what you wish for'."

He was making her blush more, and she tried unsuccessfully to hide it behind his hand, her brown eyes on the chicks that were now walking around on his chest. "I was biting people, Sabel. It was far from cute."
"Using it in class is different from using it for our curiosity." She lightly poked one of the chicks with his finger. Her small grin spreading at the thought of Tate casting on the students for his amusement. "I'm sure he's wanted to do it more than once, some of the students here are crazy." Like those two Griffindor girls. "Paintball on the grounds does sound awesome."

She really needed to stop blushing, because it was only making him blush more. Then again, he was the cause of it, so he tried to bite his embarrassment back. But still, she was objecting to something that was true, and that needed ramification. "I'm serious. Though you may have been rabid as a squirrel, you're the only one that can make a rabid squirrel look cute...or in this case a cat." Except of course Ice Age, but that was neither here nor there.
More serious conversation. Yes, indeed. "I suppose it is, but then you learn in class as you learn by curiosity, so really, same thing in the end." He eyed his hand as it was made to lightly poke one of the chicks. "Yeah, some people here are...well they just are. I admire the man for being able to keep such a cool head around some students."

He......wasn't helping. She tried to just ignore his comments, distract herself with picking the chicks off her chest and placing them on the ground, watching them run off to their mama. It wasn't helping much, she could feel her face getting hotter. "I like cats better." She mumbled, letting her hair hide her face as she poked him lightly.
"Tell that to Tate and Kingsley." She said with a small smirk, face still hidden by her hair. "So do I, the students here act like they don't know how to behave in public sometimes." Like that hobo Destiny.

He was about to point out that she was much better company than a cat, and nearly bit his tongue off as he clamped his mouth closed with the realization. Only a small muffled sound of 'I' made it through the floodgates before he caught himself and he had to quickly stumble over his words to make up for it. "...Cats are good...nice...company...creatures." Headground.
"If the occassion arises I'll make sure that I do." He mumbled, staring stupidly up at the clouds rolling by. He could name a few students that fit Arya's description, but for the sake of not getting stumbled on by anyone of them, he remained silent, giving a small nod in agreement.

"They do..." All birds looked just about the same when they were babies. Which made it difficult to name them cause finding out who was female and who was male was difficult. "Could it?" A slightly puzzled expression crossed her face as she placed his had in her lap and rested her head in her hand. When ever she thought of Dory she thought of a fish....a girl fish. It was hard for her to picture a male chick named Dory.

"I...guess..." Not that he could think of any names that could be converted from Dory right now, especially those that were male. The greater half of thoughts occupying his mind happened to be why she studied his hand for so long and didn't really return it. The other half was the strange silence that kept invading his usually buzzy brain.
"Can't think of any right now. It just seems like a genderless name." The lame mumble didn't do well to put his train of thought back on an actual track.

They would still need a few more male names, though, depending on how many of them were male. She would ask the professor about it latter. He winced one eye shut at her statement of fun. "I know what it is, Arya. I just...." He let out a huff of air. "Yeah I fail." Truthfully, he felt rather embarrassed for not being able to think of anything entertaining to do, and he would have used his jumbled thoughts as a scapegoat of excuse, but he was simply blank for ideas. "Alright...Uhm...pumpkin patch I guess." Not that he had any idea what they would do there.
