Amy dropped the tail in and began to crush the sopophorous bean. once it was powder she added it to her cauldron, then she squeezed the marshmellow on top and wrote some notes as the potion simmered

He heard the Chicken say something about aprons, and he frowned at the comment. Seriously, aprons?

Whaaat!?

Why was his name being called for? Because he didn't like cooking? Well, at least he was not the only one but was the first to be called out.

Was she going to give them aprons? If she was, then he'll complain. Cooking, he didn't like it.

"And what about the food, Professor?" he asked, as he moved to the front and pointed back at his cauldron. It'd get ruined if they didn't get to finish it, no? And he was truly looking forward to the grape-flavored gelatin dessert.

Alice was feeling slightly nervous for the people Professor Lafay had called to the front of the room, but it was pretty clear from the start that Professor Lafay did not consider cooking and potion making to be the same thing.

Alice picked up the lizard tail and dropped it into her potion, watching it shrivel which she had to admit was kind of cool. Then she took her sopophorous beans and began crushing them with her pestle. Once she was done she sprinkled them into the potion the same way Professor Lafay had before tossing the marshmallows on top.

Alice leaned over the potion slightly to see inside...she had to admit the marshmallows were giving it a rather nice sent, although she still wasn't sure how she felt about the blueberry Jello.

Finally it’s starting! Lara jumped from her chair as she put her quill aside . After she had cleaned her cauldron ,she took the Cottage cheese and put it in the cauldron carefully and waited for the next step as she was watching her classmates.






The cheese was warm now, so Lara did as Professor Lafay said; she tossed the half cup of Bran cereal in the cauldron with the two spoons of salt. She wanted to taste salt because usually she can’t stand it but she was at class not at home, so she forgot it. Then she folded the ingredients with the wooden spoon which was laying on the table.





Lara took the silver knife as she was told, she loves using shiny things! She watched Professor Lafay very carefully , and then she copied it and chopped her asphodel leaf in small pieces. After that she mixed those small wet pieces with the dragon marrow. Wow! It really did swell , Lara loved watching the potion developing! So she put the mixture right into the cauldron, waiting for the next step.



Well this step seemed to be a little bit hard! Anyway Lara as usual watched the Professor carefully , she was glad she didn’t have to turn the horn to powder herself. Then she opened the packet of Jell-o which she didn’t really like it ,but she needn’t to! Now mixing the powder then adding it, Lara didn’t have any problems , the powder melted right away.




Lara took the tail and dropped it as she was told . Then she started to crush the beans, it was quiet fun! Crushing things!! Oh and sprinkling is awesome too! Lara thought to herself as she sprinkled the powder in her cauldron.
Well squeezing was less fun ,but it was good, now the Marshmellow is squeezed, all Lara has to do is waiting about 20 minutes till the potion is ready? Meanwhile Lara was wondering what will they do with the potion , she wanted to ask Professor Lafay but she seemed to be a little bit busy with some students.

If the powder does not melt down... it just means we let the cottage cheese cook too long. This is not a problem, it happens 9 out of 10 times. Add a little water... just enough to melt the powder."

Watching Professor Lafay go through the trouble of grinding the unicorn horns, Simon was sure glad she had already done it for the class and wasn't making them grind it themselves. Placing the four tablespoons into his bowl, he went to open the jello packet only to be rewarded with the pale green powder and smell of lime from within.

Why do I always get something associated with Slytherin in this class, he mused to himself with a slight shake of his head as he poured the packets contents into the bowl before mixing. Adding it into his cauldron he watched to see the reaction sighing to himself as it failed to melt before adding just a little water as directed to help fix the potion.

"Drop in the tail, which will begin to shrivel up and then begin crushing the sopophorous beans in your mortar with your pestle. Once you are done, sprinkle the bean powder on the potion. Then squeeze the marshmallow on the top... let it simmer for 20 minutes and the potion will be ready." She said watching the brats do as they were told.

He looked up as one by one a few students were called up by the professor, realising as he took notice of them as the ones who had been the most vocal in class and talking about cooking.

Guess Lafay doesn't like her class being compared to a cooking lesson.

Well it wasn't really his problem knowing when to not talk in class so Simon continued on with the work, adding the tail and watching it shrivel. He moved onto the beans and began crushing, his ears however listening for what was the fate of his fellow students out of curiousity. Finding the beans done he sprinkled it into the potion before squeezing the marshmellow ontop as directed. Once those steps were complete, the gryffindor sat back onto his stool to let it simmer.

Kurumi's face went white as a sheet as she held her wiggling tail in her hands. Did she mean now? Or was she supposed to finish her potion? Dragon Lady was going to eat her alive and spit out her bones....

Deciding it was probably best to not waste her already used ingredients, she followed the dragon lady's instructions and dropped her tail into the cauldron and tried not to look as it twisted and began to shrivel up. She crushed her beans and put the powder in before adding the marshmallow cream on top. Her hands were shaking so much that she thought she was going to send cream everywhere.

She then returned to her notes to add the final steps.


With her potion simmering on her burner, Kurumi looked around the room and wish that some other teacher would come in and somehow make class magically stop. Looking at the ground and fidgeting with her fingers, Kurumi made her way to the front of the room towards....DRAGON LADY.

"Y-y-y-yes professor?" she asked too afraid to look the woman in the eyes.

What was going to happen now?

Fee dropped in her tail as she was told.Ewwww looked all disgusting. But well...
Beginning to crush the sopophorus bean she noticed that wouldn be so easy.Again and again she tried it.
Actually it took her some time to figure out how to crush them properly.

Okay what now?...
Oh yes put the poweder into the potion.

Takin a marshmallow next she smiled. Fee looooved marschmallows.
After she squeezed it on top of the potion she observed her potion while it was simmering.

They were doing a very good and Hecate nodded to each one of them.

"Miss Shepard, Miss Erised, Master Lockhart and Miss Hollingberry?" She said with no Humor in her voice, "thank you for volunteering to have a bone removed. Please pick one." She said crossing her arms. She wasn't in the mood to be toyed with and was showing it.

Waaaait a minute.

He didn't volunteer to do anything. He was only asked to come to the front, and leave the food unattended while the rest cooked.

There better be points for this. Because he did nothing wrong. Nothing!

Treyen decided to play the cheerful part, "You're welcome, Professor" he said, with a smiled. Even if he was terrified to death. Surely, she'll make them drink from her potion, no? If they had to drink from someone else's then they were probably doomed.

Pick one? He had no idea what to pick. Every bone in his body was utterly important for...well...everything! "Do I have to? Can't you just choose one, Professor?" or two. He, of course, regretted saying those awful words after he'd said them. She was probably going to pick the one that hurt the most, and the one that will make any task impossible to make if the bone didn't grow well.

Say what now?

What did Destiny do!??!?

Frowning, Evelyn looked up from her potion and glanced between the professor and friend. Perhaps the Slytherin said something that Evelyn didn't catch? Or glared? That didn't seem like Destiny though.

Taking a deep breath, she kept her mouth shut however, and stared as her friend went up to the...front. Or well, fronter of the front since they were already..in the front. The evil place she should put it.

Picking up the tail, the Slytherin giggled slightly at it's jiggly movements before dropping it into the cauldron and then cleaned her mortar and pestle. And then, the grinding of the sophorous bean. Meh. Stupid, bean thing. Once it was in powder form, she sprinkled it into the mixture before...squeezing the marshmallow on top.

Really? Squeeze it?

"Umm...Professor..." she muttered, staring at Destiny. WHAT?! Was she serious?

Destiny, was going to lose a bone. In her body. A BONE! Darnit! Where was purple head!? Or Carter? Or Stalker Dude? Or...wait no, maybe not stalker dude. Evelyn would kinda prefer he had all the bones in his body.

...However, the Dogasaurus Rex surely could lose a few. Perhaps it'd make him stop randomly burst out dancing.

Her throat very suddenly bone dry, Ivory tried to swallow. To gather enough gumption to refuse. To ...anything beside stand there with her mouth gaping like a fish out of water.

A bone removed? Could she un-volunteer? Maybe?
Glancing up and seeing the Professor's no-nonsense look, she gulped. If "supposed" volunteering lost her a bone who knew what a punishment would entitle.

Going through a mental assessment of her body, she tried to choose an inconsequential bone that it wouldn't bother her too much to lose... even as an internal discussion went on in the back of her mind on how much trouble she would be in if she just ran out of the the class.

Running through a list of bones, she thought about her options. Not a large one like a femur or brachialis, and certianly not something needed like the spine...something simple that people deal with all the time. Maybe her "...nose?" Contemplating under her breath, Ivory had no idea that what she said could have been taken as her choice of bone. Had she known...well you could be sure that she would've said her pinky instead.

Huh?

What was the Professor talking about? Destiny did not volunteer for anything! Usually the person who volunteered was aware of their volunteering and Destiny was not aware!

NOT. AWARE!

She only thought she was going up to pick up aprons for this cooking lesson. If she would have known that she was going to be boneless, she wouldn't have said anything. Or she would have stayed in her seat. Gah! There was no way Lafay would let her back out now, she had to pick a bone to lose. She was already spineless, so that bone couldn't be removed..

"My thumb!" she said, holding it up towards the Professor. "I think it would look cool without a bone, eh?"

Just..hanging there. Cool, indeed!

Pick a bone?! Volunteer?! Dragon Lady was joking, right?!

Kurumi felt herself shaking in her small black school shoes and swallowed hard. She then looked around the room nervously and began to wish she had skipped potions today with Adam. "O-o-o-one in my arm?" she asked pointing to her left arm with her right. As if Dragon Lady needed a visual aid...maybe she should have gone with a finger bone, they were so much smaller.

Salander picked up the wriggling newt tail "No escape for you pal...." he chortled as he let the tail drop and writhe in the heated mixture. He then re-scourgified his mortar and pestle before adding in the right amount of sopophorous beans, then sprinkled the powder into the pot. He took the marshmallow bottle and eyed it sadly. Did he really have to add sweeteners to this mixture? "But this could affect the pina colada flavor...."

Hmpf. Instructions instructions. He turns the bottle over the pot...

All that was written was 5 squeezes. It wasnt specified just how much per squeeze did it?

The lad looked up at the students lined up in front, then his eyes widen when he heard what the Professor had planned for them. "Talk about having a bone to pick..." he muttered.

Dropping the tail until it shriveled up and crushing the beans (add that one into the cauldron too) and then some drops a marshmallow. Ta-Da! Finished. Now just to simmer..
Dianna watched as Lafay called up volunteers (poor fellas) to demonstrate to the class how the potion should work.

Freya grabbed the newt tail "Here goes the tail" she dropped it to her cauldron. Plup! When it began to shrivel up, she grabbed her mortar and pestle and clean them with the Scourgify spell. After she was sure her mortar and pestle were clean enough, she began to crush the sopophorous beans untill it become a powder. She sprinkled the bean powder on the potion. She hold the marshmallow with her right hand. Oh why she had to add sweet thing in her potion. "I hope this won't make the potion taste sweet." she said while dropping the liquid from squeezed marshmallow into her cauldron. She update her notes while she let the potion simmer for 20 minutes.

Why was Lafay looking at Marie like that? She hadn't done anything wrong in this class... yet. And why did Destiny have to go to the front of the room with her?

She continued to work on her potion adding the tail then crushing the beans and adding the powder. Next was the marshmallow and then it was time to wait.

Time to update her journal. She stopped when she heard why her friend had to go to the front of the room. The crazy woman was going to take one of Destiny's bones!

She looked up at Destiny and wanted to scream... 'RUN DESTINY RUN!' but instead she just glared at Lafay.

Oh Raiden would not like this. Where was that boy?

She smirked thinking of removing the kid's cranium... but then thought better of it. "Mandible it is then..." This should shut the kid up. She said and pointed her wand at his jaw, and removed it.

"What is it Flores? Are you volunteering as well?" She asked.

"Hmmm most of the nose is made out of cartilage, only the top part, close to the cranium, is bone." she said before pointing her want at the child's nasal bone and making it dissappear.

"The human hand contains fourteen digital bones, also called phalanges. Although there are three in each of the four fingers, the thumb only contains two. The distal phalanx is the top one, the one that the thumb does not have is the middle phalanx which is right below the distal, and the one closest to the palm is the proximal phalanx. I'll remove the proximal phalanx in your thumb." She said and pointed her wand at the kid's thumb and removed it.

"There are many bones in your arm... I think I'll remove the humerus, that's the upper arm bone." She said pointing and removing it from the girl.

She heard a mutter, but didn't hear what the kid said. "Are you volunteering as well Master Salander?" She asked.

Hecate nodded to the girl. She was doing well.

"Alright, anyone else want to 'volunteer?' " She asked.

Fletcher flicked his hair back from his face and stood up from his potion, following the rest of the students to the front of the room. He paused just as he was about to reach Lafay, however, upon hearing her last few words...

She had not addressed him by name, exactly, so did that mean he didn't have to pick a bone to be removed? How was she going to remove their bones anyway?!! Mandible? And will that hurt when it grows back? Will he be able to speak? How will he eat!? He was about to ask something else...and then...POOF! It was gone! His eyes widened, yes, in terror, as both hands went up to sustain the hanging skin, because without the mandible it will fall, no? Not to mention that his tongue had no lower teeth to help it keep inside.

He. Wanted. To. DIE.

Treyen had no idea what to do with his hands, should he fold the skin or something? He was holding, alright, just, he wasn't sure exactly how he looked and how bad the damage was. Scary. And he had SUCH A PRETTY FACE!!!

His terrified eyes made a 'NO' motion to those that Lafay was asking to volunteer. This was..not exactly painful, because he felt nothing, but that was the terrifying part!

He had sooooo many things to ask and say! And he couldn't talk! Well, yes, the boy could cry right now, but since boys didn't cry, then he didn't.

Eyes to Lafay, those eyes said nothing, but then quickly turned to her cauldron. Was the potion even ready yet?! Oh my Gilderoy! And he couldn't run out the classroom, because...he had no mandible! He needed it back!

Was is going to grow the same way? He had nice teeth, you know. TEETH.

Alice watched as the....er..."volunteers" made their way to the front of the classroom. Professor Lafay looked somewhat amused, in her own way she supposed.

Alice's eyebrows went up. Pick a bone? Alice looked down at her own body, uncertain as to what exactly it would be like to be missing a bone. Did it hurt re-growing bones?

Alice raised her hand. "If you'd like another volunteer Professor Lafay, I'd be willing."

Amy watched each of the poor "volunteers" have a bone removed, the professor looked happy, which Amy hadn't seen this very much. *shudder* those poor kids. Now she was asking for volunteers, there was NO way she'd volunteer

What?

Destiny stared at the Professor, wide-eyed and opened mouth. She had absolutely no idea what was being talked about. Those words..what did they mean? She needed a dictionary or better yet! a book on the Anatomy of the human body. She didn't know why Lafay was telling her all that useless information, it was like the woman knew she wouldn't understand and she only did it to tease her.

Meanie.

So, it was decided her something something bone was going to be removed. Hopefully it wasn't a major bone..one that she needed..like her jaw. She secretly snickered at the boy who was holding up his skin. He looked like her grandmother with all that extra flab hanging and she wanted to tell him to make sure his tongue didn't fall out, but at that moment..

HER THUMB!

It was just..hanging there. Crooked and flabby, wobbling all over the place. She tried to give a thumbs up, she really did, but it was useless. It wasn't moving! Well, it was, just not in the way she wanted it to. "Professor! What if the skin stretches so much that when I regrow my bone, my thumb will be longer than all the others? How will it fit inside my glove?"

It was still winter, and she needed her glove to fit.

"I-uh...no." Blinking a few times, surprised that that was what the professor got from her random speech, and surprised that she herself didn't think before speaking, the Slytherin slouched down on the table, as if trying to hide herself behind her cauldron.

No, she didn't want a bone removed from her body. She quite liked all her bones. They were all HERS. Not even the unknown of the universe could have it, or wherever those vanished items go. It wasn't worthy enough!!

MERLIN'S BEARD! Look at Destiny's thumb! It was limp!

Rubiey had just finished up adding all the ingredients, when she heard what the poor people up front had to do. a BONE?! yowchy.

Then ALICE volunteered. ALICE. Ugh. Rubiey reallllly didn't want her to do it alone. Sighing, she put her hand up. "I'll volunteer, Professor." She said, smiling weakly at Alice. They were in this together, right?
