Hecate burst into the classroom and began setting it up. Each table would seat four. This was going to be a fun class... for her anyway. She began making the antidote, and as she finished adding the last ingredient, she opened the door.
ooc: This class will stay open for at least 72 hours (probably more.) Also thanks to Antarctica! for taking the picture of the Potions Classroom for me at the WWoHP, and to Ameh for makin it into a pretty graphic! Sorry guys for not giving you lots of notice... lots of stuff happening with my Part Time job... and seeing as I'm still looking for a full time one I've got to work hard to keep the pt one. This class will stay open for a at least 3 days, and probably more.!
De-aging???!!! That didnt sound good at all. Listening to all her classmates answer made her really know it wasnt good. She was already young enough!!! She had just recently gotten into the two digit ages. There was no wayyy she was going back to the one digit number. Maybe she could pretend to drink the potion or maybe she could purposely mess up. Hmmmm decisions, decisions
As I have work again tomorrow, my posts will be sporadic til after that.

As Professor Lafay acknowledged her greeting, Grayson had grinned again. At least it didn't seem too disgruntled, or anything like that. So maybe this class would be as fun as the last one. She could always hope. The group work was still questionable to her, though, as before now she was used to brewing potions on her own. And she didn't like messing up. But apparently she was going to have to deal with whatever would happen. And her excitement level raised a bit more as they were told what they'd be working on. Listening to everyone's responses, she raised her own hand. "Well, it seems the potion is going to just make us look younger. But it could just as easily make us act younger. I mean, we know there's potions out there that influence how we act." Like the Scintillation Solution from last lesson. Or Elixir to Induce Euphoria, which she was still working to try and perfect on her own. It was possible even the Babbling Beverage she'd used last term could count in her argument. But everyone else seemed like they believed it wasn't possible. So she just wanted to make the point, even if it was way off. Either way, she thought this lesson was going to be awesome.

Pfft. Of course they were important...to a point. Lafay must have been beaten by someone who looked better than her if she thought that way but of course Josh was not going to voice that idea because first he did not want any detention and secondly and most importantly he liked Lafay enough to not to argue with her. Hehehe. So be it then. He only grinned and nodded at the woman before listening to what she was saying next.
De-aging potion? Listening to others to learn what this potion did the Gryffindor boy smirked as a great idea occured to him. What if Lafay tried some of that potion? Bahahahahaha!
Leaning in he looked at Simon and Viky and with a mischievous smile appearing on his face he whispered. ''Guys! Think hard and quick. We need to find a way to make her drink it once its done!''

As Viky sunk further into her chair, looking at him almost bewildered, Simon tried his best to give her a reassuring smile before turning to his best friend as he heard his whisper.
"Are you trying to get her bad attention? " he whispered back trying to look innoscent. There was no way he was going to trick Lafay in her own classroom.

Well... she supposed they could put in something? Like, her morning pumpkin juice? 'We could slip it in her drink, at breakfast?' she whispered back, sliding even further down in her seat. She did SOOO not want Lafay to hear this. Nu-uh. She liked her face how it was, thanks. No burns.
Hmmm. Any other ways to do this? She racked her brains, thinking long and hard about possible methods. More cake? No. she would find that suspicious. Into the cauldron at the front? But there was no reason for her to drink from that, and it was probably de-ageing solution anyway. Pfft.
"Quit whispering or I'll take points!" She said to the Lions... Cake or no, there was no talking in class. "If you have something to say on this subject, say it out loud. If not, Shut it."
SPOILER!!: replies

Somehow, Raiden had never thought he'd be getting de-aged twice while at Hogwarts. Once had been quite enough; the incident in his fifth year, with Neptune, had been rather horrific, to say the least.
"It... you shrink." Well, you did. "Your body goes backwards and you revert to a previous age... depending on certain factors, it may or may not mess with your mental capacity, too."
He'd had a few five-year-old tendencies when it had happened, but had mostly retained his 16 year old thought processes. Except when it came to pain, and Lina's cat ears.
Yeah. Raiden didn't want to be five again. For the third time. The prefect's wall of stoicism broke, and he scrunched his nose. The only good thing was that this time, he'd see the de-aging coming...

Ignore. Destiny ignored the staring, but she did shift uncomfortably in her seat.
And it was a good thing she did ignore Evelyn. If Destiny had turned her head, Lafay would have missed her staring..but that could have been a good thing. Eeeep! "Sorry, Professor. It can wait until after class." Personal stuff and all that jazz.
Unless, of course, Lafay didn't mind the whole class hearing?
Oh no! They weren't going to..make a de-aging potion were they? If they did, all the students were going to have to drink it, right? This lesson was going to be lovely. "It makes you..de-age."
Obviously.

At least...she didn't think she did.
Did she?
...
Hearing her last name being said, her previous last name, Evelyn blinked a few times and wiped the smirk off of her face before getting out her notebook and quill to start taking notes.
She was starting to really hate mornings..
Completely missing the fact that pretty much everyone already answered, Evelyn wrote down what the potion was at the top of her page before answering herself as well. "It de-ages your body. Makes you younger, though you pretty much keep your mind at the age you really are...sorta..."
Funny little potion.
...OMG! They weren't going to be de-aging themselves were they!? Ugh, she didn't want to DE-AGED! She wanted to AGE so she could be seventeen already. Pfffft.

"In my humble opinion, a de-aging potion should reverse the physical 'wear and tear' so to speak that comes along with the drinker's aging. It might remove the wrinkles and bags and sags on a woman's face, for example."
He raised an eyebrow ever so slightly at that last bit. Hadn't he and Sadie discussed this very topic and Lafay's need for such a potion or a cream not so long ago? Heh.

Goat's milk? Well...at least that sounded better than firefly goo they had used last lesson. Kurumi immediately thought of Belch Powder...young people belch and make all sorts of rude noises, right? Just in case, she should probably mention a more sophisticated ingredient....Perhaps it was best to start with a more intelligent sounding ingredient. "Professor, perhaps pomegranate juice is an ingredient? Pomegranates have resurrection and everlasting life qualities." Yes, that sounded smart...perhaps Professor Lafay would not breathe fire at her with her next guess. "Or perhaps Belch Powder since young people tend to do such rude things more often..." Kurumi braced herself.

Oliver turned away from the group of girls at his table to look at Professor Lafay, the overwhelming need to giggle overcoming him. Horses? Heh! That was funny wasn't it? But Lafay wasn't a HORSE, was she? Not at all. Silly him.
But Professor Lafay didn't look like one for jokes, so he kept his face straight and mumbled a “Sorry, Professor.” She had a fair point after all.
He listened to a number of kids giving their replies about what a De-Aging potion was, choosing to remain quiet and not give the same answer as all of them.
They were going to be toddlers for the lesson? Oh Merlin.. of all the potions lessons he'd been to so far, this one seemed the most disturbing. He was seventeen.. he wasn't sure he liked the idea of his peers seeing him as a curly-haired weirdo tot. Ahem.
Worries aside, he raised his hand deciding to have a stab at her next question.
“Professor, could it possibly contain Phoenix tears.. or feathers perhaps? Cos they have a perpetual life span, don't they? Like once their body starts to fail, say of old age, they're reborn young once again.”
"It's not who you are that holds you back, it's who you think you are not."

Alice looked at the professor, her mouth open slightly in shock. This potion was going to turn them into toddlers? But she didn't really want to be a toddler....
Alice wasn't sure what ingredients they would use for this so she kept quiet and took notes in her notebook.

Hmm. De-aging.
Keefer raised both hands. "Physical appearance changing makes me think of the Polyjuice Potion. I know that has fluxweed, which is a catalyst for change. So is fluxweed also in the de-aging potion?"
He hoped he was right. Because if he was wrong, he was likely to get yelled at or called stupid.

Lafay had a question. To answer? She didn't reaaaaaaaally wanna draw attention to herself - especially when she was petrified of the Professor, but she was feeling brave. Sorta.
"Erm.. Professorrrr.. what about Papaya? Orrr Pineapple or Acai Berries?" Her Ma always made face masks with the stuff. Other than the fact that she looked like a loon walking around with it for half an hour, it was supposed to make you look younger.
And this potion seemed to just be about the physical side of deaging. Maybe that'd work?

Yes, but why?" She asked frustrated.
"There are other ingredients..." She told them. "You are all going to be sampling this potion so I suggest you speak up."
Raising his hand, Patroclus cleared his throat and suggested an answer, "Professor, could Shea butter be a possible ingredient, I know it is one of the best natural ingredients to fight wrinkles, so could it perhaps be able to reverse them all together?"
It was true that Shea Butter was normally an external moisturiser, but it was originally used in cooking, and still by same in the chocolate making world, but he would keep that last part quite otherwise he would have Destiny on him, like a rash.
"Erm, mabe ginger may be an ingredient caused it's used in wit sharpening potions and when you revert back into the body of toddler you gotta have something in there to keep you're wits about ya. If I gotta try this stuff I certainly don't wanna forget everything I have learned over the years that made me who I am today", Chloe responded a little hesitantly at the thought of trying this potion, was that realy always necesary.
Tory couldn't really think of any other ingredients except those already named. She thought of something and raised her hand. "Maybe some sort of Nuts? They contain vitamins and a concentrated amount of minerals and phytochemicals like antioxidants." she said concentratedly.
Does not affect your mental age? Ethan breathed a sigh of relief. Not that he wanted to look like a little kid, but that was certainly much better than actually becoming a little kid again. Nope, he liked his 15 year old self just fine, thank you very much. This was definitely a potion for the gray and wrinkled. Of course a class full of four year olds would be kinda funny, he thought as he imagined the kind of trouble a bunch of little kids could cause. He glanced up at Professor Lafay knowing that she was definitely not the type to handle that kind of chaos and chuckled lightly to himself as he pondered the question.
Listening to the answers of his fellow classmates, the fifth year thought for a moment before raising his hand, noting one ingredient he was thought might be in the potion that he hadn't heard called out. "I believe there's also powdered moonstone found in the potion... right, professor?" At least he was fairly confident... Oh, and she wanted the reason. That essay his mum made him write about the properties of moonstone last year would come in handy now. "It's found in potions that retain or restore one's emotional stability and since the De-aging Potion changes one's appearance without affecting their mentality, that's probably why the moonstone is in there."

Ewwwwww did she say they were going to have to sample this potion??? Merlin, the class kept getting worse and worse. First she had made him glow pink and now she was going to attempt to handle a baby!Fletcher?! Sure he would look adorable and all but Fletcher did NOT want the body of a baby with the mind of a teenager. It just wouldn't work.
The boy cautiously raised his hand to chance a guess at an ingredient. "Blueberries, professor? They're known to keep the mind sharp and help with memory... plus I think they contain high levels of antioxidants, which helps with the mental side of aging."

"Yes, very good." She said nodding. "Pomegranite juice is correct."
She hated that word... Sorry... It was used so often and very rarely meant. "Just correct your manners next time. Yes, one phoenix tear." She said and continued in the class.
"Yes," she said "Daisy roots, finely chopped."
"Yes, fluxweed helps with the changing." She said nodding. Her students were getting good.
"I asked for ONE ingredient not three. Pick one and tell me why it's an ingredient." Hecate said curtly.
Yes, but why?" She asked frustrated.
"There are other ingredients..." She told them. "You are all going to be sampling this potion so I suggest you speak up."
"Pepperment, to keep down the unwanted sideffects" she said unknowning
Oh, they were going to drink it. Perfect. And, judging by professor's words, Evan could also guess that they were going to be toddlers with the mind of 15-year-old, speaking for himself. It just wasn't compatible. Toddlers were meant to be toddlers, and 15-year-old meant teenage. Pfft. He should have listened to that little voice of his which told him not to come to this class. If only he'd been listening to his instincts...
Raising his hand, he ventured a guess. "Cucumber, maybe? I've seen in Muggle TVs that they lay it on their eyes for refreshment. And there're cucumber masks..." Fail. He didn't think particularly this professor would approve him of watching TV.
So much for a good impression, if not grade, in potions.

Hmm, she couldn't tell if the Professor was in a good mood or not. Why was it so hard to tell!?
Moving her gaze from staring at Destiny, the Slytherin glanced around to the others in the room as they answered the question while she tried to think of one herself. Oh wait, there might be one ingredient in the potion that one hasn't said yet. "Perhaps, shrivelfigs? They are used in shrinking solutions and...I don't remember there ever being a six foot tall toddler. Naturally...I mean." she said after raising her hand.
Gah. They were going to be toddlers after this lesson. PFFFT! Which means she was going to be even more short! Which reminded her, where was purple head?

Simon quieted and turned his attention from his friend when Professor Lafay called them out for whispering. He certainly didn't want to lose points for something as simple as that so he proposed to behaving and not comment on what Josh had in mind. Instead he focused on the task at hand naming ingrediants for the potion they were to be making.
"Would knotgrass be included," Simon offered. "Its used in polyjuice so it seems like it would have properties to change ones appearance," he further explained.
"There are other ingredients..." She told them. "You are all going to be sampling this potion so I suggest you speak up."
Did she just say...? Oh nononononono he thinks looking horrified, no way he didn't want to do that he couldn't, the singing was bad enough, now actually looking younger.
Slouching down in his seat, he groans inwardly, wishing he could make himself invisible. Maybe if he didn't answer, she wouldn't notice he was there...yeah that's an idea.
"There are other ingredients..." She told them. "You are all going to be sampling this potion so I suggest you speak up."
Alexandrie listened intently having know clue what to actually put in a De-Aging Potion. Alex was good at making the potions but when it came to actually discussing the ingredients she was hopeless, probably due to her lack of Herbology Skills.. and knowledge. Alex wondered what this Potion would taste like considering most potions had a horrible taste.. and smell for that matter.
