Good. No space issues, Lafay was happy, and they can get started on this potion! The faster it gets done, the faster they can be being young peoples, and the faster she can go about getting back to normal. Leaning over the table slightly, she wrote down a few things in her notebook as usual before taking out her wand. Looking into her cauldron, Evelyn scowled a bit before cleaning it with a "Scourgify". Pfft. Whatever dust stuff that somehow managed to get it's way into there...BE GONE! Mwaha! With her cauldron clean, the Slytherin began measuring out...one gallon...of goat's milk. Ugh, why so much? It wasn't like they were drinking ALL of this. SPOILER!!: Evelyn's notebook |
Vienna quickly wrote down the ingredients and than cast a scourgify on her cauldron. Grabbing the goats milk she poured a galleon of it. She had to admit potions was quickly becoming one of her favorite subjects |
Evan raised his eyebrows at the list which included phoenix tears, but decided not to comment on it without knowing anything, plus Prefect Raiden had already asked it. Maybe there was artificial tear or something? He didn't think Professor Lafay would give out her real phoenix tears like that for a class which very much tended to end with yet another explosion. Shrug. They should see soon. Cleaning his area and cauldron several times both manually and with magic, Evan poured down 1 gallon of goat milk and waited, eyes still on phoenix tear thing. |
Clean clean clean clean clean. Grumbling to himself about cleaning his cauldron and getting an answer wrong (what had Lafay meant by the way, about him needing blueberries?!), Fletcher scourgified his cauldron until it sparkled. Metaphorically, at least. He copied down the list of ingredients and then poured in the goat's milk. That was a TON of milk, man. Quote:

SPOILER!!: Simon's notes After making sure to write down the ingrediants correctly, Simon took out his wand. "Scourgify!" he cast on his cauldron, not about to make the same mistake twice. Once he was sure it was clean, he gathered the ingrediants and added the goat's milk as told. Casting a look at his two partners to make sure they were up to speed, especially Josh, ignoring his parchment. |
Shea Butter, had been a good guess but it had been wrong, however Patroclus still thought that it could have been used, but then again Lafay's word was Law as he was so often telling himself. Cleaning his Cauldron, "Scourgify!", Patroclus listened absentmindly to the words of the Slytherin Prefect, about the rarity of Phoenix tears. Patroclus had thought nothing off it, but Raiden did bring up a good point. Waiting for a response, the Fourth year added the milk to his cauldron, before scribbling down the progess in his notes. SPOILER!!: Patroclus’ Parchment |
SPOILER!!: Amys notes Amy scribbled down notes and began to clean the cauldron "scourgify!" she then added the goats milk and waited to hear the next step |
SPOILER!!: Renesmee's notes Nessa was standing at her cauldron "scourgify" she said. it should have been really clean because she had missed the first potions lesson. It looked as though it was covered in dust so she finished cleaning it and poured in her goat milk. "1 gallon of goat milk" she muttered |

He set his cauldron up. "Scourgify." he whispered, casting the charm happily. It was one he knew, because his mum made him use it to clean up over the summer for punishment for getting mud tracked into the house. "Scourgify." he cleaned his table, too, just because he could. Feeling good about his magical self, he turned his attention to the potion. He read the instructions and-- dagnnabbit! He'd have to ask a question of LaFlame. Reluctantly, he raised his hand. "Perfesser?" |
Lila wrote down the ingredients. Then she made sure her cauldron and work area were immaculately clean. Next she measured out a gallon of goat's milk and put it in the cauldron. Quote:

SPOILER!!: Marie's Journal |
Alexandrie wrote down the ingredients carefully before pulling out her wand and cleaned her cauldron throughly before checking her workstation and cleaned it up as well. Alex then took the One Gallon of Goat's Milk and slowly added it into her cauldron. SPOILER!!: Alexandrie's Notes |

She smiled at the prefect and summoned her ingredients to her desk. "Do retrieve your ingredients, the only one you won't find are the phoenix tears, those I will come around and administer when the time comes. Now," she said and looked into the cauldron filled with goat's milk, "Mortar and pestle out and begin working on crushing the yellow moonstone. Yellow moonstone helps with the de-aging by energizing the milk, and causing the regression in your DNA." She said crushing it. "Grind it to a powder and then sprinkle it in the cauldron as you stir." |

Sitting there listening, Patroclus could not help but be saddened, by the tale of the Phoenixes. It was a truly sad story, finding one's soulmate to lose them, and be alone forever......it made the boy think. But enough of his personal life. Patroclus moved from his desk and headed over to the store, where he began to laden up his arms with the necessities. With everything he needed, bar the tears, the boy returned to his table, cleaned his mortar and pestle, "Scourgify!" and got grinding. Once the teaspoon of Yellow Moonstone, Patroclus cleaned his stirrer, "Scourgify!" and began to stir the milk, whilst sprinkling in the powder. SPOILER!!: Patroclus’ Parchment |

Nessa grabbed he ingridents and headed back to her cauldron. She pulled out her Mortar and Pestle "scourgify"' cleaned it and began to grind the moonstone to powder. It was more difficult than she thought and she applied more pressure. After a few short minutes the moonstone had been crushed to powder. Grabing her stirrer, cleaning it, then placing it in one hand and her mortar in the other she poured in the moonstone powder and stirred at the same time. carefully dissolving all the powder into the goat milk. http://i782.photobucket.com/albums/y.../lilithsig.jpg |
...well that story just brought up even more questions. Raiden let the astute comment pass without thinking about the praise; he was eighteen, and healing things held a large part in his life. "May I ask how the mate was lost?" he asked, voice flat and even, unaffected by the apparent sadness of the story. "From what I understood, phoenixes don't die..." And why would this person donate these tears to Hogwarts?! Why wouldn't he donate them to the hospital, where people were dying? There'd been countless instances in his own life where phoenix tears could have changed everything. There was no way he was the only one. There were others out there that were still sick and injured as he'd been... "And how is it possible for them to be used in a potion that gets made so often?" And wouldn't phoenix tears pretty much destroy the effects of the potion? They were meant to make your body work as it was supposed to. It healed and fixed things, and surely nothing you mixed them with could change that. De-aging wasn't in line with the entire idea of phoenix tears... |

SPOILER!!: Amy's notebook She finished scribbiling down the ingridients and put her book to one side, she then moved her cauldron cloder to her and took out her wand, scourgify she muttered watching the cauldron clean itself, woww, magic was sooo cool! She thought, like a little firstie all over again, she was so childish sometimes, she then took the goats milk and poured it into the cauldron, then stood, waiting for the next instruction Quote:
She carried on grinding until her arm ached and then she lifted the pestle and looked down at the yellow-y powder and began to sprinkle it into the cauldron, stiring at the same time |
Lila got out the mortar and pestle. She placed the moonstone in the mortar and began to grind it into a fine powder. Then she added it to the cauldron while stirring. |
Having scribbled down all the notes of the ingredients, Sarah listened to Lafay answer the question Raiden had asked. Were they meant to know the poor departed man who had married her? Wellll - she didn't. But the part about the Phoenix tears was actually quite interesting. As the full list of ingredients went up on the board, she duly wrote them down. Along with what they had to do first. Yes, yes. Clean the cauldron. Sigh. SPOILER!!: Sarah's notes Putting her cauldron in place, Sarah pointed her wand inside and cleaned it. A "Scourgify," here, a scourgify there. Once satisfied, she went up and collected her ingredients, before going back and putting them on the desk. Eyeing up the goats milk, she carefully poured it into the cauldron. Dragging the pestle and mortar towards her, she placed the moonstone inside and began grinding it into a powder. Taking her stirrer, which she also cleaned, Sarah began mixing it into the milk. But her eyes went wide when Raiden queried the answer he'd been given. Nooooo, don't do iiiiiitttttt, she was screaming in her head. He was cruising for a bruising, and she really didn't want to look when Lafay responded to that one. Ohhh, Raiden. I'll book an appointment to visit you in the Hospital Wing. |
Hmm. Well it seemed apparently as of yet there would be no hellion ranting on student incompetence...at least not yet. A very slight smile on her face, Ivory found herself enjoying the Professor's good mood and determined to not do anything to disturb it...that is unless she absolutely had to-like to protect her friend and whatnot. But for now she would be the proverbial busy bee and follow the 5 C's of Potionmaking. Giving Arya an encouraging smile, she turned to her workstation. Removing her cauldron from its dragon hide satchel, she tilted it in the light to sneak a peek at its recesses and extremities. No dents, visible cracks, or decoloration that would indicate wearing down of the pewter. Casting a quick Lumos, she shined the resulting glow from her wand inside too. Yup...no hair thin fractures either. "Scourgify." Casting the spell first on her cauldron before cleaning it manually she then went on to clean her other equipment including her mortar and pestle. Hands on her hips, a satisfied quirk picked up the side of her smile. All done. Opening her journal she quickly made a list of the ingredients that she needed before moving to the Potions stores at the back of the room, her tray in hand, waiting patiently for her turn, |

She set the cauldron back on its stand and pulled on her gloves. Taking the gallon of goat milk she had measured out, she poured it into the cauldron, and then made a note of the first step in her note book, right under the ingredients. Now to wait for the next step. |
Slipping out of her chair the small girl moved to retrieve her in ingredients, ears attentive the to conversation between Raiden and Lafay. Which was very interesting. Just how did a phoenix die? From what she knew, they were born again after death. The phoenix Lafay was speaking of confused her. Arya didn't pay much attention to the fact that Lafay was once married. Returning to her seat, she placed her ingredients on the table and pulled her mortar and pestle out. Placing the yellow moonstone inside, she began to crush the moonstone. Her eyes flicked to Ivory as she worked to see how her friend was fairing before returning to her potion. Moonstone crushed, she slowly stirred her goat's milk while sprinkling in the crushed moonstone. Eyes peeking up at Raiden's back, waiting for Lafay's response. |

SPOILER!!: Alex's Potion Notes |
After finishing writing down notes about the ingredients and the first steps of making the potion, Nathan cleaned his couldron with "Scourgify" until it was practically shiny and then cleaned his other equipment. With a satisfied smile on his face after cleaning his equipment, he went and collected his ingredients and took them back to his desk. He measured out a gallon of goat's milk and poured it into his couldron. He then put the Yellow Moonstone in the mortar and began grinding it into a powder. After he finished crushing the Moonstone he began sprinkling it in the couldron while he stirred the goat milk. While he did that he listned to Lafay to see what her answer to Raiden's question would be. |
SPOILER!!: Fee's parchment Fee first cleaned her cauldron. As she learned in the first lesson that wasg really important. Sure it was, a dirty cauldron could be dangerous. As she was sure the cauldron was perfectly clean she added the goats milk. |
