"Thank you, professor." Raiden relaxed slightly in his seat. He wasn't sure how much cunning had gone into it, but there had certainly been quite a bit of 'I want to live' ambition, so he accepted the praise.

And then paled slightly when she told them what they'd be making.

Somehow, Raiden had never thought he'd be getting de-aged twice while at Hogwarts. Once had been quite enough; the incident in his fifth year, with Neptune, had been rather horrific, to say the least.

"It... you shrink." Well, you did. "Your body goes backwards and you revert to a previous age... depending on certain factors, it may or may not mess with your mental capacity, too."

He'd had a few five-year-old tendencies when it had happened, but had mostly retained his 16 year old thought processes. Except when it came to pain, and Lina's cat ears.

Yeah. Raiden didn't want to be five again. For the third time. The prefect's wall of stoicism broke, and he scrunched his nose. The only good thing was that this time, he'd see the de-aging coming...

Emmaleigh gulped. Ms Scary Professor wasn't being to scary, at least for the moment, but Em was still terrified. de-aging? Was it really the obvious answer, or was she trying to trick them? Its probably better to go with the obvious, she thought. so Emmaleigh raised her hand, and answered. "D-does it m-make the d-drinker y-younger?" She couldn't help her stutter, she was just too nervous.

Raising his hand, he gulps nervously, almost afraid to reply, "A de-aging potion will make a person younger then they presumably already are."

De-aging... his eyes wide in horror, he didn't even want to think about the effects of that.

Good, Evelyn was in class, too. Perhaps she could help Destiny in staring at the Professor.

But no.

Evelyn had decided to stare at her and not the Professor! Jeeez. Talk about making someone uncomfortable.

Ignore. Destiny ignored the staring, but she did shift uncomfortably in her seat.

And it was a good thing she did ignore Evelyn. If Destiny had turned her head, Lafay would have missed her staring..but that could have been a good thing. Eeeep! "Sorry, Professor. It can wait until after class." Personal stuff and all that jazz.

Unless, of course, Lafay didn't mind the whole class hearing?

Oh no! They weren't going to..make a de-aging potion were they? If they did, all the students were going to have to drink it, right? This lesson was going to be lovely. "It makes you..de-age."

Obviously.

Evelyn could totally tell that Destiny was becoming uncomfortable. If it wasn't the shifting in her seat, then it would have been the fact that her friend was obviously ignoring her. And Evelyn KNEW she hadn't done anything in the past few days to have caused her friend to give her the cold shoulder.

At least...she didn't think she did.

Hearing her last name being said, her previous last name, Evelyn blinked a few times and wiped the smirk off of her face before getting out her notebook and quill to start taking notes.

She was starting to really hate mornings..

Completely missing the fact that pretty much everyone already answered, Evelyn wrote down what the potion was at the top of her page before answering herself as well. "It de-ages your body. Makes you younger, though you pretty much keep your mind at the age you really are...sorta..."

Funny little potion.

...OMG! They weren't going to be de-aging themselves were they!? Ugh, she didn't want to DE-AGED! She wanted to AGE so she could be seventeen already. Pfffft.

''It is a Potion which makes a witch or wizard younger.'' Jacqueline was very excited about this potion. She was hoping she''ll try some.

Nathan raised his hand when Lafay asked the class a question. "A de-aging potion de-ages the drinker's body so he or she is younger, it depends on how many of the potion you drink" he answered. He hoped that he was right so he didn't look like an idiot. Although some people told him he always looked like an idiot, he didn't believe them.

That was embarrassing, but Jack looked at her in horror anyway, and shook his head vigorously. Really, really NOT aimed towards her.

Anyway, back to the class. "An de-ageing potion is what stops a person from getting any older..." No, that wasn't right. So, Jack stuck his hand up again. "... makes a person get younger." Whoopsie.

Did she just saying DE-AGING POTION?

Biting her lip, Sarah looked across at Raiden, images of him as a five year old filling her head. He had been so cute up in the Hospital Wing two years previously, but no way did she want to turn back time. She did answer the question, though. After much gulping. Hand in the air.

"It physically reduces the age of a person. But not the mentality, I don't think..." Unless that was a bad batch Raiden accidently had his from.

Lila raised her hand. "It makes the drinker look younger but does not affect their intellectual or maturity level," she responded. Atleast she didn't think it did anything other than change their physical appearance.

Lafay looked happy.

And that wasn't good for the students. Not good at all. Viky wondered what she had in store. And then.... de-ageing solution? That didn't seem too bad. As long as there was antidote... oh. That was why she was happy, wasn't it? Because there was NO ANTIDOTE. She was going to feed them th solution, and then they'd have to make the antidote. And if they failed, they'd have to be a three year old... for ever. NUUU! Viky liked her fifteen-year-old self perfectly well, thank you very much. She didn't want to be three!

Help. She slid down in her seat, looking at Simon next to her with big, wide eyes. She was going to be a three year old forever. No way was she going to be able to brew that antidote properly. She'd probably end up a DEFORMED three year old. Excellent.

Kurumi swallowed. She couldn't believe that she had actually brought herself back to class to face the dragon lady. *shiver* Not only that, but she had absentmindedly sat a few seats away from the scary cookie hating Slytherin girl...who hadn't seemed to notice her yet. Kurumi let out a sigh of relief.

Kurumi listened to the professor and tried not to show the shock that was written all over her face. First dragon lady had made them glow and do embarrassing things around the castle....now she was going to turn them all into babies?! Professor Lafay couldn't do something like that...could she? The headmaster wouldn't allow it! No no no...something else was going to test their potions....right?

Kurumi moved her hand as if she were going to ask a question, but quickly put it back down on her lap. She wasn't sure she wanted either cookie hater's or dragon lady's attention.

Ever glanced around nervously to make sure she wasn't the only one panicking.
De-aging potion...to Ever, that was death by lesson. How in the name of Merlin could Lafay make them brew a potion that turns people into immature little brats...?! She fought to keep her straight face from turning into a shocked frown, but pretended to be listening.

"It allows the drinker to appear younger to anyone who see the dinker, the affects are not premant and wear off." she said

ooc: I know I seem to be very problematic this week. You know how they say when it rains it pours? My computer's power cord shorted and set fire to my comforter an hour after I opened my class. Fletcher rolled his eyes, as small a gesture of protest as he could manage without getting in trouble, and then greeted the professor as she wished. So what if she didn't like Neo? He was a cool dude as far as Fletch was concerned. Real chill.

"Why hello, Professor Lafay. I hope your lesson goes well today." He smirked and then continued with an answer to her question. "In my humble opinion, a de-aging potion should reverse the physical 'wear and tear' so to speak that comes along with the drinker's aging. It might remove the wrinkles and bags and sags on a woman's face, for example."

He raised an eyebrow ever so slightly at that last bit. Hadn't he and Sadie discussed this very topic and Lafay's need for such a potion or a cream not so long ago? Heh.

'Looks aren't important?'

Pfft. Of course they were important...to a point. Lafay must have been beaten by someone who looked better than her if she thought that way but of course Josh was not going to voice that idea because first he did not want any detention and secondly and most importantly he liked Lafay enough to not to argue with her. Hehehe. So be it then. He only grinned and nodded at the woman before listening to what she was saying next.

De-aging potion? Listening to others to learn what this potion did the Gryffindor boy smirked as a great idea occured to him. What if Lafay tried some of that potion? Bahahahahaha!

Leaning in he looked at Simon and Viky and with a mischievous smile appearing on his face he whispered. ''Guys! Think hard and quick. We need to find a way to make her drink it once its done!''

Once he had answered and listened to the rest of the class speak about the potion, it sunk in to Simon that brewing such a potion could have a bad effect. One that relied mostly on whether or not they would have to drink it and how far back it would effect. Like Fletcher had said it could be used just to remove age marks.

As Viky sunk further into her chair, looking at him almost bewildered, Simon tried his best to give her a reassuring smile before turning to his best friend as he heard his whisper.

OH. That was SUCH a good idea! She'd never found out about the cake, as far as Viky knew, and this would be so funny if they figured out a way to make her do it. But... how? That was the question! Well... she supposed they could put in something? Like, her morning pumpkin juice? 'We could slip it in her drink, at breakfast?' she whispered back, sliding even further down in her seat. She did SOOO not want Lafay to hear this. Nu-uh. She liked her face how it was, thanks. No burns.

Hmmm. Any other ways to do this? She racked her brains, thinking long and hard about possible methods. More cake? No. she would find that suspicious. Into the cauldron at the front? But there was no reason for her to drink from that, and it was probably de-ageing solution anyway. Pfft.

Alexandrie glanced around and rose her hand, "A De-aging potion makes a witch or wizard younger, this can be by just a few hours or a few years depending on the strength of the potion used." Alex could go on and say even more but Lafay only asked what it would do to someone.

"It will make the drinker turn instantly younger." Sophia said, smiling. She hoped she got it right. She didn't want to upset Lafay.

Patroclus smirked as he heard the subject of the day's lesson, he knew that Jacob's wheels would already be turning, and the Lion knew he was going to have to try and talk him out of this one......well maybe

"Professor, the potion would revert the physical state of the drinker, back into the shape of a predetermined age. The potion would have to rewind the growth and death of the body's cells that are the aged building blocks of life."

Patroclus had an inkly that Lafay would not like him using sciency type words, but hey it was would have to happen.

Evan raised an eyebrow at the question, not answering in that instant despite knowing the answer. De-ageing potion? That was what they were going to brew today? They were going to brew something then, weren't they? He let out a silent sigh. Suddenly, he wanted to leave the class. He didn't want any other potion fall, after all. But he was also very well aware that he'd already set foot in the class, now he couldn't just leave. Yay. Maybe he should have a sudden stomach ache... yeah, that sounded nice.

Finally deciding to answer it, although everyone else had done, he raised his hand to say "It makes someone look younger." Eh, obvious from the name.. much?

Keefer raised both hands as he usually did.

"Professor, a potion can't reverse time--only a time turner could do that. So the potion must only give the appearance of de-aging. So the drinker would appear younger physically."

Huh??De-aging potion??They're gonna brew that potion today?Freya hopes that today lesson better than the first one when the potion class was full of chaos because one of the student blow her cauldron. She sighed. Freya raised her hand "Is a potion that makes the drinker appearance looks younger" she said answering the Professor question.

Serena thought about the question for a brief moment then raised her hand. This was a pure guess on her part but she was willing to have a go. "I think a de-aging potion creates the illusion of a younger appearance in the way the drinker looks. It is in a similar vein to those lotions and creams Muggles uses on their faces."
