Just inside the door, the Wizarding University table overflows with goodies beneath a plain white banner. The two students manning this table, Copernicus Kettleburn and Kennedy Jennings, have obviously done their best in an attempt to make the table look more festive, including slinging flags over the banner to brighten it up and lining up all their free giveaways in neat rows. They've also hung signs around the booth.

It was his graduating year. Universities had to be something that he looked at. He wasn't sure where he was going, or what he wanted to yet, but as he looked over the table two caught his interest. He took one of the pens out of the bowl of the university in Italy, before turning to the two guys behind the table and asked, "can you please tell me more about the universities in Italy and the UK?"

Copernicus glanced up at the approach of their first visitor and gave the boy a grin. He looked familiar from his days here at Hogwarts, and it was nice to see friendly faces.

"The UK campus isn't far from here... it's just outside of Edinburgh. The campus in Italy is in Naples. I've actually been there... it's gorgeous. Right on the Mediterranean," Cope began. "Those are actually two of our oldest campuses, just steeped in tradition and history." Which were two things Copernicus could really appreciate.

"If you have a specific area of study you are interested in, I could tell you more about the programs there. Are you a seventh year now?"

Satine wondered up to the next table...she hadn't completely ruled out going to a university. As she approached she heard a familiar voice...could it be...she hurried a little closer to see if the voice matched who she thought...and yes there was Copernicus. she hurried over to the table and grabbed a pamphlet excitedly. She glanced at the baskets on the wall and then asked, "So, Cope which campus are you at and what are you focusing on there?"

Hmm. Brody had really changed her mind on what she wanted to do about 12 dozen times. But after speaking to her parents, who were generally very influencing to her, she had decided that going to university was probably a good idea, mainly because it would open up a world of opportunies, and it would mean that she would be the first of her family to actually go to university; which was totally awesome in her opinion. The other good thing was that she knew what course she wanted to do, seeing as she wanted to work at the Daily Prophet, doing a journalism course was probably a good idea. She wandered towards the table, recognising the person, kind of, reminded her of Cela really. She smiled at him. "Hey....you wouldn't be able to advise me on campuses would you?" Because she really had no idea about what campus she wanted to go to. "And....is the Literature and journalism course any good?"

Okay, right. Future. Because that was FOREVER away *weep*.

Lori was GLAD she didn't have to make a decision RIIIIIGHT now, like today, but she kind of already had. She wanted to be a healer. Pity ... the smell of blood didn't work well with her. So that was probably going to go ... down the toilet, as they say. Skipping along past the booths, Lori stopped at the Wizarding University one, and then picked up a brochure and looking at it.

Out of ALLLL of the courses that were listed, two made her SMIIIIILE. Wizarding law, pretty much because she (since starting Hogwarts, at the age of 15) wanted to understand all the PRETTY LITTLE LAWS that surrounded them in their world. Oh, and the Journalism/Literature Studies course, she DIDDD like to write. Writey, write, write.

OHAI BRODY! Lori gave her bff a little smile, and then stood about looking at the brochure again.

The question wasss: Did she REALLY, really want to continue EDUCATION?

Chewing on his lip, Jake joined the relatively small selection of students at the University tables, looking slightly unsure. He did NOT like thinking about the future. Future meant change.

Ah, a Ravenclaw face! He waved as she approached. "Hey, Satine... it's been a long time, hasn't it? I'm currently studying at the Cairo campus, with a double emphasis on Wizarding Archaeology and Linguistic Anthropology. Most of my studies are currently centered on Egyptian history, but I'm also focusing on ancient languages."

"Several of the campuses have journalism and/or literature programs, so you probably can choose based on where you'd like to live. I've heard good things about the program at the Salem campus, which is where Kennedy goes," he nodded to the girl seated beside him. "But the Wellington and Edinburgh campuses also have great reputations. Plus if you go to Edinburgh, you might be able to intern at a British paper."

Copernicus pointed at the baskets on the table. "You should take some of these little neat things the schools provided. The owl whistle is sort of awesome."

Now he KNEW that he knew this one. Jake Upstead, looking all... not small and underclassman-ish anymore. "How's it going, Upstead? Thinking about additional education after graduation?"

Lori looked up from the brochure thing, and smiled softly. "Hey." She listened to what he was saying, and nodded as he finished. "Yeah, sure. Uh. Questions. -- Are the t-shirt's pink?" That mattered. That mattered a lot more to her than it did others.

She wanted a pink one. Hehe. But she could just always send off for a pretty pink dress instead.

Wow. Wizarding University.

Torin wasn't really sure about whether or not he wanted to do this stuff, but an opportunity was an opportunity. And he wasn't really sure about the other booths he saw around.

He picked up a brochure and turned his attention to Brody and Lori. "What do you guys think of this? Are you going to go?"

He frowned slightly as he started to look through the brochure.

He did like Herbology a whole lot. Though it wasn't the same without Professor Bunbury...

Ahhh, what a question. If only Jake knew the answer.

"It's gggoing good, mate. Whuhh-what about with yyyou?" Jake responded, a little of his london roots showing through as he spoke. Like a laaaahndanah.

As for the question, Jake looked thoughtful for a moment. "I dddunno. Depends whuhh-what cccourses there are. Like... wwwandlore or... wwwizarding llliterature. Or mmmaybe Dark Art tttheory or hhhistory."

Ohhhh the possibilities. Only they didn't HAVE those possibilities. So... that sucked.

"It's... a bbbit soon to be thuhh-thinking abbbout my fffuture."

Because Jake lived in the moment. Now the time was getting closer, he found he didn't want to leave Hogwarts when the time came...

Because not only Ravenclaws enjoyed books, or studying, Treyen had no idea about continuing education in the Wizarding World. Nor he had any idea what he wanted to become in life, but he was quite fond of research, and to be able to continue his studies, even in such an early stage of life, was a bliss!

He decided on taking a pamphlet, no one will get hurt if he did. And there was nothing wrong with beginning to think about the future, right? He liked the future. The things that are yet to happen were the most amazing ones, weren't they?

"Excuse me, sir" he said, poking the young looking man, "what are your thoughts on..." wait a second, he was reading the pamphlet to get it right, "...'Experimental Magic and Research' and 'Archaeology'?" he asked, a very serious look on his face, "What I mean is...what kind of classes are required for them here at Hogwarts?" he left out Astronomy, because he was certain that the most important class was Astronomy.

Wandlore! Was the boy into wands too? How much did he know? Treyen will be sure to talk to him about that later on.

Copernicus laughed. "I bet we can find you a pink t-shirt. You want one with a campus name on it or one with a course of study?" If they weren't pink NOW... well, Cope was good with charms, right?

"You're a... fifth year now?" Cope tilted his head to the side to consider. Yeah, it was soon, but not THAT soon. "I don't think it's too soon. I mean, you have to know what classes you want to achieve NEWT levels in, and that starts as early as your fifth year." Leave it to Copernicus Kettleburn to have a timeline.

"They have classes in all those subjects, although if you're interested in wandlore, I think there's going to be a booth on that later...? That's what I heard. Anyway, there are less common courses of study that aren't listed."

That was ironic. He picked the course of study Copernicus thought Cela should look into AND the one that Cope was currently studying. "The Experimental Magic program is great. They have a charms-specific course of study, and a Transfig-specific one, as well as the ability to double up. And I'm currently in the Archaeology program in Cairo. Very hands-on."

WHAT?! OH MY GILDEROY! For real?! That's....awesome. The best news ever! But Treyen's face held no trace of being altered by such an information, because he was in the 'Wizarding University' booth. So, yeah, he'll leave the odd questions for the wandlore one, if there is one.

Grin. The Experimental Magic program was sounding pretty good, for there was no Potions in there just yet. Though he was almost sure Potions was most included in anything magical. "And which campus is best known for the Experimental Magic program?" he asked, eyeing the free stuff, and the girl who wanted a pink t-shirt...well, it was normal for a girl to want a pink shirt. "You are? Oh! Like muggles? Hands-On like muggles?" he asked, excitement was written all over his face.

That didn't last long, for he started to think. Hands-On...are usually not in the same terms as reading books. But he could write them. Oh! He had so many things to think of, and so much time left...he shouldn't have come. "How about the 'Literature' program?" it ran in his blood, to write things, his grandpa did, and there was a certain wizard that was known for books in his family...why not follow his footsteps too?

Nobody had actually outright voiced the fact that Jake was in his fifth year of wizarding education, and now that Copernicus actually had... Jake kind of twitched.

Making an uncomfortable face, Jake shifted a little where he stood. OWLs and NEWTs were kind of daunting, and Jake suddenly felt more sure than ever that he was at the wrong place.

"I guhh-guess I'll thhhink about it thuhh-then," the boy commented quietly, before looking around as though said wandlore booth was already present. "Tttoo many ch-choices. It mmmakes my thhh-... hhhead hurt."

Yes. Jake had been about to call it a thinking box.

Kennedy nodded in response to Cope's statement and she jumped into the conversation, "The Journalism program at the Salem campus is quite good with a high success rate of students finding internship opportunities at a number of respectable papers in the surrounding area following graduation. Many of the faculty are world-reknown journalists with a vast amount of experience and connections. I've got a number of friends in the program and they all have very positive things to say about it."

Whoa. Lots of questions. Alllll at once. "St. Petersburg has a good Experimental Magic program. Italy definitely does," Copernicus mused. "I don't want to leave you with the impression that you'll get a less than excellent education at any of our campuses."

He laughed at the questions about the hands-on digs in his Archaeology program. "The thing about artifacts, whether they are magical or mundane, is that they are so fragile. Add to that the unknown conditions of their preservation, whether they are warded or inherently cursed... you can't just magically pull things out of the ground. So right now, the best practices are still the Muggle techniques, but I'm doing some personal research in the area to see if we can improve them. It's part of my thesis."

He gestured at Kennedy. "I think Kennedy knows more about the literature programs, to be honest, but you study Muggle and Wizarding texts, in addition to developing your own technique."

"Maybe it would help to make a list of what you're interested in, and try to draw a career possibility out of that. I don't think I would ever have thought 'Gosh, I really want to go live in the desert and play in the dirt', and no one here at Hogwarts could have anticipated it... but when I realized my greatest interests were in history and languages, it seemed a natural."

Oooooh. Russia! That sounded quite interesting. Italy, well, if it was something like France, then he'll enjoy it. Treyen nodded, "Oh, I imagine, but usually the focus on some courses are not the same in all of them...for instance, Business courses don't make much sense in the campus in Ethiopia, but they make much more sense in China" he said, as if he knew what he was talking about. Not that he knew, but common sense made him realize such a fact could be probable. "Or so I think" he nodded once more, before listening to everything this young man had to say.

Man, he knew soooooo much! And Treyen attention was only lifted from the young man as he gestured towards another one, the one named Kennedy. "Well, that makes sense, the muggle technique" he agreed, those muggles were really really smart, weren't they? "But you can't only study Archaeology in Cairo, right?" as soon as the young man mentioned 'research' he was liking that Archaeology thing much more.

And then...Kennedy.

Treyen eyed him, "He seems to think you know more about the Literature programs" he started to say, gesturing towards the other young man, "Are there any classes required here at Hogwarts? Or, they don't relate much to the program?" because he knew his granpa didn't attend an University, yet he wrote, more like a hobby, but still...wrote things.

Hmm. So several of the campuses did the course she wanted to do, Brody liked that, because it gave her a lot of options, although she wasn't very sure if she really wanted to move across the whole world, so maybe she'd stay closer to home, and she did like Edinburgh, it was a pretty place, and her sister lived there too. Although part of her also wanted to go abroad, to get away from everything. "Staying in Britain would probably be a good idea....i do eventually want to work for the Daily Prophet." The blonde explained with a smile, eventually because she wouldn't really mind going to work on another paper before hand, as long as she ended up on the Daily Prophet; that reminded her that she needed to go look at that table too.

She turned with a smile to the other person at the table, and listened to what she had to say. Well. She certainly was influencing her to go to a campus abroad. "It sounds very interesting." She was quite interested actually, although she didn't know how her parents would react, but she'd be doing what she wanted once she'd left...

Lorelai chuckled at Torin, and shrugged. "I dunno. I'm not even SURE what I want to think about doing with my lifeeee. I thought it was forever and ever away. But it's notttttt." Pout.

Lori grinned at him and shrugged. "Riiiiiiiiight. ER. So to get this t-shirt, I have to apply? B...But what if I'm not suuuuure aboutt it, and I really want the t-shirt... If I show you my super cool pink glittery heels, could I get one? Pretty please?" If not. WELL THEN. Her catalogue was going to be ATTACKED. Hmpf.

Torin's girlfriend was ignoring him. That was not cool. He poked her. Yes, he poked her. Then he turned his attention to Lori, who was nice and not ignoring him.

But at least Lori was talking to him. He smiled at her. "Same here. They don't have any Photography courses here. And I'm just not as interested in Herbology anymore." But he still did enjoy it a fair bit. He was also good at Arithmancy, but he wasn't sure he wanted to do that.

He was so confused. He didn't know if he wanted to take Herbology or not.

Then Copernicus was talking to him and that was sorta helping him with the brain melting feeling he was having.

He grabbed a keychain with a smile even though it was a bit of a struggle.

"So, Cop... What's a good campus for Herbology?" Might as well see just in case he decided to do this.

"Muggles are remarkably adaptable. I find they are to be admired, rather than reviled or pitied," Copernicus agreed. "But you're correct. There are a variety of other courses of study in Archaeology, just as there are other campuses that offer Archaeology."

He left Kennedy (a female, by the way) to answer the boy's other question.

"Again, it probably depends on the type of plants. Montreal and Istanbul really have great programs. The water plants program in Istanbul is supposed to be top notch, especially because of the access to the Mediterranean," Copernicus answered, trying to be helpful.

"The Wizarding population is small, you know? Much smaller than the Muggle population. Most wizards go directly into the workforce after leaving school, so there's an even slimmer population going on to university. Unfortunately, we simply don't have the numbers to support three campuses in Europe, and the UK and Italian campuses are... well, really old," Cope explained. "There are smaller universities in France that are no part of the Wizarding University network."
