Ellie walked into the classroom and found a random seat. She read the board and wrote,
Then... what? Wands on desk? Was she the only one uncomfortable about surrendering her wand?....

Professor Kingsley smiled at the young Miss Samson. Off to a good new start.

"A very nice day, thank you," he said as he watched her head to the desk.

Preston quirked an eyebrow as he watched a muggle electronic be placed on the table. Usually, he wouldn't consider it an item without value, though he supposed since it wouldn't work on the grounds...

He was distracted by the returning student.

He gave her a kind smile. "It's quite alright. I'm sure you're not the only one who will." Watching as she retrieved her items, he wondered if the bracelet had value.

Had no one read the boards?

Preston did not answer her. He was too busy blinking at the diamond necklace. Either she hadn't read or she considered jewels to be of no value. Either way, he was a little stunned.

Preston nodded in greeting. A journal was most appropriate. Difficult. But appropriate.

"That's quite alright. Take your seat. Wand and personal item on your desk."

"Ah, Mister Phillips. Good day. I trust you've enjoyed your reading?" Professor Kingsley smiled as he watched the boy take his seat.



Professor Kingsley turned at the sound of more humming and saw a young girl smiling and waving. He gave an appreciative nod, smiling lightly himself. He certainly hoped all his students were that pleased to be in class.

"Good day," he said with a nod.

"Glad to hear it, Miss Quirregan," he responded with a smile. He frowned, however, when he saw her parchment. Only bracelet.

"Quite alright, just please don't do it again." He nodded at her briefly.

Preston watched the classroom fill up. A comb. Yes, quite excellent. He nodded as he watched more students enter.

Preston looked down and extended his hand as well. "Good to meet you, Miss Marlowe. Now please, take your seat. Class will be starting soon."

Looking up from the small Hufflepuff, Professor Kingsley grumbled. "Sunglasses off, Mister Kane. Thank you." Really? Sunglasses indoors?



Preston was considering adding a 'no sunglasses' rule to his noticeboard when he heard a girl's voice echo quite loudly. Disgusting idiot? It didn't take long to notice that the boy with the shoe for his personal item was now only wearing one sock, as well.

"You will retrieve your sock, put it and your shoe back on and sit over there." Preston gestured to the corner of the room where a single desk sat without any nearby. "Now." Preston's voice was even, but cold. He tolerated no tomfoolery in his classroom, and frankly, that sock was going to make people ill.

Eying the boy, he walked over to where the young Miss Samson had fled. To her, he spoke in a softer, kinder tone. "I know you felt like you needed to say something, but next time, just let me know and I can take care of it, alright? I don't like yelling in my classroom. Or name calling. Even if you think someone deserves it." He gave her a small smile to let her know that she wasn't in trouble... yet.


Preston looked up to see three others enter and took note of their personal items with a nod.

He frowned and took his sunglasses off. Silly Professor. He should be able to wear his sunglasses inside if he wanted to. It just made things darker, it didn't do any harm.

:: Ehgad grabbed his shoe and bag and hopped over to the ugly orange socks desk and grabbed his other sock. It smelled terrible and for a moment he felt a bit bad about it.

"Yes Sir.." He said, not wanting to further anger the Professor. He quickly slipped his sock and shoe back on and made his way to the corner desk. From here he could watch the entire class.

Finally, he sat down and began rummaging through his bag for something else to use. He found an old broken quill and placed it on his desk. Pulling out his wand and pouting a bit he waited for the class to begin. ::

Amy nodded, thank you professor, I moved so he wouldn't have the oppurtunity to do it again, Amy looked at the proffessor as he moved away and then to the front of the class

Timothy laid his holly-wood wand upon the table with the ring. He bowed towards the professor, and took his seat. He looked around the class room, saw a one shoed boy hopping about, Timothy whispered to himself, "That boy had better loose some house points, or something, a rude gesture towards an honourable professor and the honourable lady as well!....how dare he"

Alex sighed as she sat down reading the board before pulling out her wand and her pentagram diamond pendant setting them down on her desk. Her father had bought her the pendant one of the times he had been forced to go into the muggle world. She took out a peice of parchment and wrote down:
She loved reading transfiguration books and hoped the class would be just as interesting.

Evan wasn't happy at all with putting out his personal item. Because it was personal. But class was class, and he, with making a face, pulled a new, clean pair of socks with a blue Chelsea badge on it from his pockets and placed it on his desk. Seeing people brought pretty simple stuff like hair ribbons, he eyed his precious Chelsea socks. Maybe he should go and get an old pair...

He'd get the money of the socks from this new teacher if anything was to happen to them. He really would. Taking out a parchment, he did as they were instructed:

Underlining the word "new", he hoped the professor would notice it and respect them.

That frown. Wasn't so pleasant. Okay, she thought for a bit and looked at her bracelet. How about if this didn't have any replacements?...She took a a deep breath and erased the possibility of working with it during an experiment in Transfiguration class. It'd be a disaster if she couldn't get it back to normal.

Instead, she searched through her purse and found a small PINK hair holder. Eep, this was worth her time and done disappearing. She hated PINK, for Merlin's sake.

Finally, she wrote down PINK hair holder instead of her charm bracelet.

Alcemee walked in and sat down. She was excited about this class. Transfiguration was her favorite subject (although this was her first class of it, but still). She wrote this:

Name: Alcemee Esilna
House and Year: First year and Ravenclaw
Personal item: Slightly chewed up dog toy that her puppy, Snowy had.

She put her wand and "Personal Item" on the desk.

Sidney turns around and sees a Slytherin picking a sock off her desk. Interesting, I didn't know Slytherins generally threw socks on other people desk. Strange, but some of the students have been strange this term. Sidney walks back to her desk and takes her seat.

Sky looked at what was written, and jotted down,
Name: Skylark Sterling
House and Year: Gryffindor; 2nd year
Personal Items Brought: Wand; Heart-shaped diamond pendant

Chse walked into class hoping she was not late. She walked up to the desk and wrote down...stuff.

She put her wand and personal item down.

Chris was soo excited for the new Transfiguration lesson that he had headed in the wrong direction on the way down here. The Head Boy entered the room and sat in a desk towards the front noticing that the room was nearly full. Nodding at the directions he began to write his note card and placed it down on his desk top beside his Jounal.

Sky spotted Chris and waved enthusiastically. She hadn't seen him in ages. She quietly mouthed hello.

Preston watched the young man frown. Surely he didn't think sunglasses were appropriate in a classroom setting? Frown etched on his face, he watched a moment longer. "Thank you, Mister Kane."

Preston nodded and kept an eye on the Slytherin as he made he was to his new, isolated seat. He noticed that the smell in the classroom was somewhat more tolerable, now.

Preston was satisfied with her response. The young girl was learning and that was what he was here for.

Out of the corner of his eye, he saw a girl rummaging for a different item and gave a little nod in her direction.

He moved about the room, taking note of some of the particularly interesting items some had brought. This one appeared to be a chew toy. He nodded and moved on.

Preston continued, noting that socks seemed quite popular, and made a mental note of where this student in particular was sitting. "Good day, Miss Green."

And another journal. "Good day, Mister Potter," he said, greeting the Head Boy.

As he continued walking, Professor Kingsley became increasingly distressed by the number of what he perceived to be incredibly valuable items. Pausing, he first thought to address just those students, but opted instead to make a class-wide announcement.

Professor Kingsley headed to the front of the room. "Good day!," he began, calling the room to attention. "We are going to begin class in just a few moments, but first, I wanted to make an announcement." His face grew quite serious.

"Some of the personal items brought here today trouble me a bit. They appear to be either incredibly valuable or of some significant sentimental value." He paused.

"I am choosing to believe that you did not read your noticeboards, rather than that you disregard your property in such a manner, though both are troubling. This is not show and tell. These items will be transfigured today. It is a transfiguration class. If you are not confident in your skill or are the slightest bit worried about the condition of your item, please either choose another that you currently have with you or take one from the box up here at the front."

Professor Kingsley held the box aloft and shook it gently, rattling the contents, before placing it back down on the desk.

ooc: There are a lot of things in the box: balls of yarn, tea cups, little statuettes, etc. Use your imagination!

Huh? Who didn't read the notice board well enough?

Looking around, Evelyn saw a few things that could have been...valuable... but nothing really that extreme. Looking down at her own silver bracelet on the desk, the Slytherin scowled and flicked it. Not hard enough to make it go flying off the table though.

Pfft. A gift from her mother a few years ago. Something she didn't take to heart anymore and it confused her why she even kept it anymore. Or brought it to school for that matter. So, it was either mess it up on purpose in Transfiguration class, or watch it burn in some fire. Or...perhaps both! Yes! With her mood now a bit more happy, Evelyn sat up straight in her seat and took out a notebook for note later on in the class if it was needed. Just be safe.

Cadence listened to the Professor's announcement and then looked down at her friendship bracelet. Examining it, she gave a little shrug. She was good at magic, but even if she messed it up, it didn't really matter. She'd just make another. No big deal. After making this decision, she looked up at the professor expectantly and just waited.

:: Ehgad was considering grabbing a different item, but something told him in his head.. 'Just sit there and listen... AND QUIT STARING AT THAT HUFFLEPUFF!' His inner voice was annoyingly loud inside his head.
Ehgad blinked his eyes and rubbed them. He was just staring at.. Sidney, yes that was her name.

Girls are trouble is what his older brother always said. Ehgad wished he had a dungbomb to throw at her head. He instead pictured it which caused him to blush and sigh.

He fiddled with his broken quill while the others grabbed the new items. ::

Maddie glanced down at her pendant. It was pretty, and expensive, sure. But she hated it, so wasn't about to go and get something else. she'd be glad to see it transfigured.

Selena glanced at the scarf. Eh. She barely wore it anyways. Why should she care? She had like a million other ones that her mother bought her. Selena fiddled with the end of the scarf as she waited for the class to go on. Gah. The class was taking forever to start... Selena was never really a patient one...

Patrick sat in the class tapping his foot a tiny bit out of random habit and realized he was going a little slow on what was happening around him. He glanced up at the board and noticed he was suppose to write stuff down on the note card he had. Slow thinking buddy. Slow thinking. Whoops. He quickly took his wand out and started to label the card.

Satisfied with himself, he continued to wait around for more instructions given by the Professor. Transfiguration was his favorite class of course.

Iris gave the professor one last smile, not really believing what he said, before going back to her seat.

She listened to the professor give this announcement, and somehow, she felt like he thought SHE was one of these people who disregard their property.

It was only glass beads with small pictures on. Nothing hugely special.

The bracelet was simply seemingly lucky. hehe.

She looked around the room, to try to catch a glimse at the other things that people had brought. Some of it was much more extravegant than her lucky bracelet. Like the girl with the Diamond necklace... She looked TEENY! There was no way that she'd get the transfiguration spells right. The necklace would end up mushed.

Looking back at the professor, she glanced at her bracelet. It would be fine. She was not going to get back up and get something different. Maybe she could use something else that she had... There was a broken quill in her bag ...

Timothy sighed, he had read the notice board...but he must have missed the overall important message within it. He looked down at the ring, silver, it had its origins in the past century, and he had been given it when his parents had died. Though some might find the symbols upon it insulting, or even heretical he liked the thing.The ouroboros symbol glinted red in the dim light, and the hammer and sickle was almost hidden in its pale valour. He put it gingerly back upon his finger, and searched his pockets.

He withdrew a small (also silver and crimson) pocket watch. He had received this last year from his uncle Nath. Also had the symbols representing his family history, but it didn't have the same significance. It was a gift, part of a larger set, that had included all the supplies needed for school. Everything he owned, from binders to parchment he was using right now had the symbols upon it. This he could afford to loose.

Victoria looked at her silver clip. The reason she chose it was because it was broken, so she couldn't wear it anymore. So, since she didn't want to harm the rest of her stuff, she chose that one. After all, it wasn't like it could be used anymore.
