Aha, so both the Charms and History of Magic professors wanted to know what was behind the tapestry too! Fletcher was not alone and now he had permission to pull it back.

The boy carefully set his books down in a neat stack on the floor and then scooted closer to the tapestry. He reached out toward it, looked over his shoulder and saw Professor Lainey with her wand at the ready behind him, and then quickly drew the tapestry back in one swift movement................

Lexi just gave Lainey a look when she talked about things behind a tapestry that could easily harm a person. She glanced down at Prince Charming and edged him out of the way. If there was some dangerous something behind the tapestry, then an unarmed Chihuahua wouldn't stand a chance.

Lexi drew her own wand when Lainey drew hers. "Weren't you here when this thing was put up?" she asked Lainey. "I mean, it was here when I started Hogwarts, at least." After that was said and done, Lexi sort of wondered if Lainey would turn her wand on her for asking such a thing. Lexi hadn't meant it to be offensive, though...

She started to change her mind, to tell the Fletcher kid that moving the tapestry wasn't such a good idea after all, but he was already moving it back...it was too late to reverse things now. She raised her wand higher...just in case something popped out. You know, other than a wall, that is.

"And when the dinosaurs were here, too," Lainey answered little Miss Charmsy Professor, deadly serious. "I was here for the fall of Rome. Harry Potter."


Heh. Facetious? Lainey? Never. Neverrrrr.



When the Tapestry was pulled back....


.... Lainey SHOUTED and JUMPED and made a HUGE RUCKUS, complete with SPARKS and .... she ran around in a circle with her hands over her head.

Paranoid much? These kids need not fear a tapestry. Like Lainey said.... unless it sounded like a prisoner... well then that was totally different. This wasn't a prisoner.

Lexi just blushed a little when Lainey mentioned being at Hogwarts during the time of dinosaurs, the fall of Rome, and Harry Potter. With a glance over at Lainey, Lexi said "I apologize, Professor Lainey. That---came out a lot differently than I thought it would. I just thought with you being a History of Magic professor, you'd know more about the tapestry, and..." Yeah, Lexi. Just...stop there.

Hmm... You know those moments when you're actually not afraid...and you don't plan to scream...but then someone else does just that and then a whole domino effect happens?

...yeah.

Lexi followed Lainey's lead and yelled out...just a little. Okay, maybe a little more than just a little. It wasn't one of those panicked-type yells, though, but more of a just been startled kind of yell.

So when that was all said and done, she just glanced over at Lainey and blinked a few times. Laughter followed shortly afterwards. "Okay, okay. So we deserved that," she said, still laughing. Merlin, she'd forgotten how funny Lainey could be.

Lainey...was just kidding, right? Lexi actually hadn't looked to see what really had been behind that tapestry, after all.

A few seconds later, Prince Charming started a yelp-type barking and began chasing Lainey around and around...

"Uhhh.......wow," was all Fletcher said as the two women started screaming and running around like chickens with their heads cut off. Merlin, they even had the little dog going now too! What a cacophony over....

Nothing. Because that's what Fletcher saw when he dropped the tapestry and walked behind it into a little round, sealed room. Just a hidden room with nothing else in, sadly devoid of anything interesting.

The boy poked his head back around the tapestry and shrugged in Professor Lainey's direction. "I'm not sure what used to be back here before Rome fell and Harry Potter saved us all, but uh, it's boring now."

No offense to you, mysterious tapestry.

Ellie strolled along by the tapestry. Bored out of her mind! And this was someplace she had not visited yet.

Humm de dummm de dummm de dummm dummmm....

OOC: Just for clarification, Lexi's not running. It's Prince Charming chasing Lainey.

"Prince Charming! Prince---..."

Lexi had just started calling for little Chihuahua to stop chasing Lainey around, when she heard Fletcher announce that there was pretty a whole lot of nothing behind that tapestry. Hmm...oh. Lexi would have liked to have admitted that she knew that all along and was just trying to spark the curiosity of Lainey and the boy, but...that was sadly not true.

She had her wand drawn, too. For what, she didn't know, but it was drawn, and she'd been prepared to use it for some...something or another...behind the tapestry. She slowly put it away and sighed softly. "Oh, well...that solves that then," she mumbled, just as Prince Charming turned and ending up right by her feet. She reached down and grabbed a hold of the little dog and held him tightly as he yipped at a still-running Lainey. "...and since we aren't going to battling any fierce creatures or traveling down some mysterious tapestry-hidden tunnel," she joked, "I think I'll head back to my office. It was nice talking to the two of you."

As she turned and walked away, she caught sight of a little Ravenclaw girl wandering around nearby. She smiled and waved at her then headed down to the third level.

Nolan thought for a few seconds as he walked down the fourth floor corridor that he heard some sort of ruckus nearby, but then again, this was Hogwarts, and he was starting to remember that there was ALWAYS a ruckus somewhere. It was amazing how much he was remembering now that he was here again. As he wandered around, he wondered if the drawing he'd made of the solar system was still in the stones on the wall here...he had drawn it during one of his patrols to entertain his sister, Eliza, who had been a first year at the time. She was lonely and, unlike him, not willing to actually TALK to people, so he'd made a game where he'd etch small pictures into the stones and set up a scavenger hunt for her. It had taken her ages to find this one...

He bent down low to the ground, trying to remember which window it was under, or which suit of armour he'd moved out of the way to get to it. Hmmm, surely the caretaker hadn't cleaned it away, had they?! It was a GOOD representation of his artistic abilities!

Brant was walking from the library. books in hand. Mostly about quidditch. His nose in his books Brant didn't see someone standing there and managed to Smack right into the person, Books went everywhere.

Nolan was searching around the wall, convinced that he was going even more blind than he already was and was simply missing his picture that he had drawn when SMACK. Someone collided with him, knocking him on his bum since he was already bending down close to the floor to begin with. Blinking a few times after he landed, he stood up and looked amongst the fallen books to find...the Gryffindor captain?

"You alright there?" he asked with a little chuckle, holding out his hand to help the boy up. He was just knocking people over left and right, wasn't he?! Maybe that was a sign that he needed to wear brighter clothing. Like a beacon or something--to prevent collisions.

"Oh" Brant managed to say when he hit the floor. "The librarian is not going to be happy if these books are damaged" Brant thought, He looked over to the person he had hit.

"Oh Sorry professor Reynolds, Didn't see ya there. Had my nose in my books. I should pay more attention" he said while laughing.

"It's alright. Happens all the time," Nolan explained with a smile. No, he was being serious. People were seriously crashing into him daily. "It's easy to get distracted while walking!" He himself often found himself wandering around reading tarot cards without paying attention to his surroundings. In those cases he just hoped the cards would tell him if he was about to walk into a shark tank or something. Hehe.

"What were you reading?" he asked, glancing at some of the books. HMMM. Looked like Quidditch books.

"Oh it happens to me all the time" Brant confessed. "Oh just grabbed some quidditch books ya know, Trying to find new tatics for our Match against Ravenclaw." he said while smiling. "This is nice talking to a professor in such a calm manor" Gathering his books Brant asked the Professor something.

"So what are you doing lerking around Professor Reynolds?, you can help me talk quidditch if you want to?" Hoping that he wasn't too bold, Of course professors always have things to do, but Brant would really like some help on this.

"Ahh, I see. Well good luck in your match! I heard your team were champions last year, yes?" Nolan asked. That was what he had heard...but he'd never really paid much attention to Quidditch soooo he could have just misheard information somewhere.

"Actually I was looking for a scribble in the wall that I had drawn while I was at school here for my sister...it's probably long gone by now, though," he explained. OR his memory was just horrible. He hoped that wasn't the case--that would be a sign of aging and he liked to pretend that he was perpetually 25. "And, I'm not sure I'd be much help...I've never really played Quidditch before," he explained with a frown. He'd just...never gotten into it, sadly. "I'd be more than happy to try and learn some more about it from you, though," he added with an encouraging grin.
