"I get that a lot," Eirian replied, smiling brightly. "I think it's the water in Brazil, honestly. A lot of things are larger there. Bugs, rodents, dragons.. You know. Those types of things."

"Practically," Eirian said. "I have... my grandmother. No one else really wanted me. It was well-known in the family that I'm not exactly the easiest to boss around." She laughed. "Eir? Estrela, if you will. I'll take that to heart. Opal..." She smiled and took the puppy out of Jayce's arms, kissing her head and staring into her adorable eyes. "Opal, eh? I had a little familiar myself, but my grandmother didn't let me bring him. His name is Fino. Brazilian Ranbow Boa."

Jay looked back at the girl. "Uh, no. You definitely look older." he said to her, unsure of whether she wanted to be called older or younger, but he went with the safe bet since she looked appalled when he found her year interesting. Then, Jayce watched as he eyes fell towards Opal. "Her name's Opal." he grinned. He loved talking about the rascally little pup.

Jayce stared as she spoke about her family. He wished he could say some of the things other kids could. Then he chuckled. "You sounds just like me. No one tells me what to do. If they try, let's just say it won't turn out well." he smirked. "Fine. Essstrrrreeeellllaaa." he said, drawing out the name for fun. But then she took Opal, and a frown appeared on his face, but he quickly banished it as she spoke about her pet. "A snake, eh? I wouldn't have thought a girl would have a snake as a pet." he replied with a shrug as he thought about the girls back home.

"Well, I just told you to call me Estrella," Eirian replied, smirking. "So far I haven't spontaneously combusted, have I? I'm sure you're not as bad as you seem." She watched as Jayce's face took a turn towards anger, and she placed the puppy back in his hands. Geez, he needed to cool his shiz. "Yeah, well, I found Fino in my flat in Uaupes - where I lived before Rio - and never kicked him out. He's a good snake, never eats anything that isn't meant for him. And he took care of unwanted visitors. Generally, robbers fear giant snakes."

"Yes you did." he grinned. "And i complied, did i not?" he returned her smirk. "Hey, you haven't seen that side of me.. yet. But maybe you never will. Unless you want to be my second partner in crime." he smiled happily as she handed Opal back. He placed her on the ground and she began to attack his heel playfully, which he didn't mind all that much. "That's interesting. My.. parents bought Opal for me before i left. She's been keeping me company. Which is always nice. I guess our pets have something in common. Then can scare away the robbers. Well, once Opal gets older she can.."

"Most guys always find a girl who just doesn't suit them, then the perfect girl comes along. Its just part of the proccess I guess" replied Bradin. He lnew all about that kind of stuff. He was kinda the Love Guru.

"Thanks for that," Eirian said. "Hmm... It's a tempting offer, now that I've left Fino and everyone else in Brazil behind. You know what? It's a done deal." She laughed as Opal ambushed Jayce's feet and rolled her eyes. "Please. You can't scare anyone off with her yet. You might be able to give them Diabetes, but..."

"Hey, anytime Estrella." he grinned. He waited impatiently for her decision. "It is a tempting offer." he agreed with a nod. And after hearing her response he said, "Woo! Now i have a partner in crime that actually talks back when i speak to her." he chuckled as he picked up Opal's toy off of the ground and chucked it across the garden which she chased after. "Oh, i know, believe me. She'll probably lick them to death if anything."

Carter laughed. "Ain't that the truth." he said still laughing. "So I take it you're relationship is going well." he said. Judging by what he was saying he guessed it was.

"Well since I started dating Ginny, one thing has been stuck in my head. Two actually. If you class kids and marriage as two parts of the furture" replied Bradin. He put his hand over his mouth. Oopsies. A little too much information me thinks. From what he'd said though it was obvious he wanted it to last that long.

"Hey, don't count your chickens," Eirian replied. "What if I go mute, hmm? What then?" But she was already grinning widely. Now it wouldn't just be her in trouble! "Well, even if a dog's mouth is cleaner than any human's, I'm guessing they wouldn't take too nicely to a thorough licking." Eww. She didn't like being licked. But that came with so many animals, so it was only a speed bump, really. "Our first stick up should be at this Ball coming up. I've heard something about it from my darling grandmother. Since we know absolutely no one besides Savannah here, do you want to accompany me?"

Wait.. did she just say "Count your chickens?" he said aloud. "That's an odd expression." he chuckled. "Mute eh? Hm. Then i wouldn't consider you my partner in crime. You'd be off of the "team" so to speak." he grinned playfully. "Well that's very true, but i'm sure that wouldn't kill them. Maybe she can somehow learn to drown people in slobber!" he exclaimed with a laugh. That would be really odd, but probably effective.. "A ball? Oh i don't know... I'm not one for dances.. but if you come up with a good enough plan, i just might accompany you. How does that sound?" he asked.

"It usually ends with, 'Before they hatch', but..." She trailed off, wondering why anyone hadn't heard of that expression before. "That's just... mute-ist... Right. That's it." Laughing, she decided to let the discussion Opal's questionable fatality die. "Yes, a ball. You're accompanying me, whether we have a plan or not. Honestly, I'd rather wing it. Besides, it's a good chance to socialize. As the new kids, we need to socialize. Otherwise, it'll be just you, me, and Opal for the rest of our lives." Dramatic, yes. But truth? Almost.

"Oh really? I've never heard that before... I've heard of 'Count your blessings' but I've never heard of count your chickens." he chuckled. "Mute-ist? You're making up words as you go, aren't you?" he questioned, with and eyebrow raised at her. "Oh, fine. I'm mute-ist. You've caught me." he said with his hands raised in the air in a gesture of surrender and a playful smile plastered on his face. "Maybe you're right. I do need to socialize, but..." he shrugged. "If i go, there's not way I'm dancing. You'll have to find someone else to dance with. Alright?" Those were his terms. Take 'em or leave 'em.

"I'm not going to make any promises," Eirian said lightly, smiling at Jayce. "Well, come on. We ought to go in sometime, right?" Then, she turned to the girl who hadn't responded in a while. What was her name again...? "See ya."

Trixie was watching out for some good looking guys! Whaaaat? She was single now. She could look couldn't she? Cue girly giggle. But the girl was paying to much attention to her surroundings to where she was actually going when...

Thwack.

Err, not again! Gah had she really just walked into the front gate? Gah that was embarrassing. Had anyone just seen her. Like what happened last time? With that she flicked her hair back and regained her posture. Well at least she had made an entrance this time. Well everytime really.

Ouch.

Miranda grimaced, seeing Trixie...walking into the gate. Heh. Hope that hadn't hurt too much.
But, the Captain had to hand it to the girl, she didn't look like she cared if anyone saw, which was awesome.

Squinting and pondering for a moment, Miranda took aim, her tounge between her teeth and off she ran towards the gate and...

THWACK!

Hm. Interesting.

She was now lying on the ground, and looked up at the girl. "Oh, hello Trixie. How's everything?" Hmmmmm? Hehe.

Trixie was just turning to see who the witnesses were when she heard the same noise she had made when she walked into the gate. And looking down she saw the Hufflepuff prefect on the ground. Well that was random.

"Err....Miranda. What are you doing down there??" she asked with creased eyebrows. She looked quickly at the gate and then back down to the Captain. Did she just run into the gate? Strange. Trix rubbed her head sligtly before raising an eyebrow and holding out a hand to pull the captain up.

"Things are good thanks" she replied. No point in mentioning being newly single or anything now was there. "And how about in Captain land?" she asked. "I heard the game was tonight. Good luck. Hope to see you against us Snakies in the finals" she grinned rather evilly.

Hmhmhmhmh.

"What?" Where? "Oh, nothing...just..." she gestured at the ground around her, "Relaxing." Mhm. Oh! A hand. Miranda gratefully took it and stood up, dusting her robes off.

And she was well, that was goood. "Glad to hear that, Trixie! This is a good day to feel good. Yes it is." Totally. She nodded and smiled, and then took a breath to answer the question. "Oh, things are good, sweating away at practices. Nice." She smiled really wide and looked at the girl...kinnda dully. Hehe. "Oh yeah, game is tonight. Yup." And now a genuine grin. "You'll be cheering in the stands? Have any friends in Hufflepuff or Gryffindor?"

Trixie nodded and continued to raise one of her eyebrows, the left to be exact, up as she said she was just relaxing. "Suuuuure" she replied with a bit of an evil grin before pulling the captain up to standing. Very unbelievable seeing as Trixie was the queen of walking into things.

"Uh huh" Trixie replied. Had she had some energy drink or something? Because she was almost as Hyper as Oliver usually was. What was it with the Captains in this school? "Lovely" Trixie replied sarcastically. Eww sweat. Bleugh well Trixie knew how that felt anyway.

Will she be at the game? Of course she would. Checking out the competition for their next match. "yeah I'll definitely be there. It would be cool seeing a match rather then playing in it" and judging by the last game. Trix was a complete menace out there. Insert evil laugh. Did she have any friends. Eek. "Well 2 close friends are Gryffindors. But then again you and Sarah are Hufflepuffs. So I won't be on anyones side in particular" she said giving away nothing. Most of her friends were in her own house or Ravenclaws in fact.

Hehehe. Trixie didn't believe her. Well she WAS relaxing...right after she had so obviously run into the gate. Hehe.

Bahaha, Miranda could SO tell the sweat comment had made her think of the icky-ness. It WAS icky...if you didn't wash your robes for some time. "Hm...actually, yeah. Ew." Trixie hadn't said ew, but Miranda could teeeeeeell! Hehehe.

Ah, she was going to see it. Awesome. "Have you played Quidditch long?" Or was this her first term? It definitely was nice to watch a game...but it was awesome to play.
And then...And THEN, Trixie talked about her friends - which the Captain nodded at and smiled - but when she mentioned her and Sarah.... awwwwww. Grinning, the Huffie put an arm around the Slytherin. "Aaaaah, that is nice to heaaaaaaaaar." It waaaaaaaas. "It is good to not be on anyone's side and just enjoy the game for what it is - a fantastic show." Because it totally was.

"What position do you play, TrrRrrrrixie?" Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. The tounge just RRRRRRRrolled. Hehe.

Carter walked down to the front gate. Every time he needed to think he always found himself here. And every time he was here Mina was here for him - ready to listen and give advice. He looked around. She wasn't on her favorite rock.

How was it that she wasn't here at a time like this? He was the world's worst boyfriend and the one friend he could trust to put things in perspective for him wasn't at her rock. Her wisdom rock.

Sighing he sat on the ground next to the rock. He'd wait for her.

Trixie couldn't help but laugh. No reply. Hehe! So yes basically she was relaxing but not because she felt like it. "Did you run into the gate like me?" she asked giggling. Gah there was no denying Trixie was a complete clutz really.

Trixie rolled her eyes slightly but nodded. "Definitely ew. And I think that is the end of this conversation" she laughed. Blimey as soon as she got back to the Common Room, Trixie had bathed and washed her Quidditch Robes almost immediately. She hated being unhygienic. And Quidditch certainly drew a lot out of you.

Trixie shook her head. "Nope......" but she paused. Maybe she had. Not that she could remember. Well that would be awkward wouldn't it If she had played it so many times before. But she was sure she hadn't. Except maybe at home. Wasn't her father a professional? Ergh. Darn Memory Loss. "I don't think so" she replied with a thoughtful expression. "But I do love playing it" she grinned.
Trixie nodded in agreement. "Yes definitely. It means you can relax and not worry about whether your favourite team is going to win. Except obviously if I have to play then I kinda have to have some Team Spirit then" she laughed. Maybe Trix will support whichever team Oliver doesn't support. Hehe! That would be funny. Gah. Souting matches from the stand. Incredibly distracting but oh well.

What position did she play? Whatever Oliver wanted her to play really. "I'm only a reserve but with this school, who knows who is not gonna turn up. For the first half I played Chaser and the second half I played Beater. But I think I waaaaaay prefer Chaser" she said copying her little elongation of letters. Trixie sounded cool being said that way. Hehe!

Mina softly bit her lip as she wandered down toward the front gates. She was in deep thought and somehow her legs had brought her to her place, the front gates and her rock. When she needed to think or just needed a moment, she would find herself there and merlin, did she need to think at the moment.

It wasn't as if, she was unhappy or something. Quite the opposite, in fact. She was happy and a bit on the giddy side over what had happened at the ball. The rational part of her was still convinced that it was all true or that Evan was genuine and all, but Mina held out some hope for them.

Walking up to the gates, she finally looked before her and noticed she wasn't the only one there.....Carter was there? What was he doing there, she wondered as she slowly walked over and sat a top her rock. "Hey, stranger," she smiled softly.

"Hey." Carter said glad that Mina was finally there. Even though he was happy to see her, he couldn't bring himself to smile. He was too upset. He couldn't Marie forgave him for everything he said the other night. She not only forgave him, but she was okay with it.

"Sorry... you know... about your dress." he said.

Kevin wandered out to the front gate and sighed things were very confusing for him he hated Kay but he really wanted to make more friends but he could always meet new people at Diagon Alley during the summer but he did not want to sit his owls
