"Duhh-dude," Jake muttered at the kids being downright childish. Pulling a prank and then turning themselves in. Just to get in trouble.

Yeah.

"Ggget a life," the boy added, eyeing the two young Slytherins with disdain before smiling at Nancy, and then turning back to... who was it he was talking to now?

But first he GLARED at the Slythidiots and coughed.

A cough which sounded vaguely like 'LOSERS!'.

He was not at this school to watch some kids make jokes and get *GASP!* detentions. He was serious this year. And ohhhh man, he'd make his message heard.

"New?" Nolan asked, looking up and down the table. He knew that Lexi was a new professor like himself but, as for the other professors (other than Lainey) there was just no telling who was new, and who was not. "I guess...many of them retired. Or moved on to bigger and better things," he said with a soft smile. "Unfortunately I don't know much more than that," he added.

Another friendly Hufflepuff! Nolan grinned--he loved that his old house kept coming up and introducing themselves to them. He wanted to know who was now inhabiting that comfy common room in the basement. "Very nice to meet you, Miss Bellator," he said. He recognized that one--she was there when he broke up the fight. Yes, he was pretty sure of that.

This girl simply had no manners, did she? "Miss Riddle, just because they're not professors doesn't mean you shouldn't treat your PEERS with respect as well!" he said. Surely she knew that when he had told her that before, right?! "You should apologize to both of them for insulting them," he added. Hopefully she'd prove to him that he had gotten through to her a LITTLE bit.

Nolan wrinkled his eyebrows. What was this child talking about? He looked behind him...hmm, no dungbomb. "I'm sorry, but I'm afraid you're mistaken, there's no dungbomb here," he told him. Did this guy just WANT to get in trouble?

There was no dungbomb. Nolan KNEW what those smelled like considering he had used a few himself in the past and...nothing.

Justin giggled then looked at Violet. "Get a life. I already have one thanks. Its called pulling pranks. Looks like you don't have a life dude" he said not regretting saying one word of that. He enjoyed winding people up. It was fun.

Then he looked to the person who had just spoke to him. "Looks like you need a life to mate. Some people would go for a better career thn teacing kids magic. Wait. Are you capable though. Justin Hendricks by the way" he replied to him. This year should have been fun. So far he was having no lick un the detention proccess though.

"Stuttering machine just shut your face got it? No one wants to hear you talk got it?" replied Violet rolling her eyes.

"What?! Me apoligize to them? They should apoligize to me, Lina said I should have a leash or something like that, and Stutters touched me! And coughed loser!" she said, looking the professor strait in the eyes.

Nancy literally gasped at the other girl's choice of words to descripe Jake. She hadn't just..."Don't you ever call him that again. Ever." She quickly closed the distance between her and Violet to give her glare more intensity.

"Oh, sorry, maybe it's not everybody's favorite pastime to memorize what you do or do not like." She replied sarcastically, irritation clearly obvious in her tone. Yes, bad Jake for not remembering that. Snort.

Listening to what the boy had to say a look of slight panic flashed across her face. Oh no...not another one. Where was RAIDEN?! Nancy frantically scanned the hall for a moment for her fellow Prefect before she returned to stare at the Slytherin boy. "WHAT d'you think you're doing?!" She snapped at him, grabbing his arm in annoyance. Not under her watch...or something like that.

Justin looked at Violet and giggled. "Stuttering machine. Nice one. When you get that voice of your fixed let us know" he said looking at the boy who stuttered while speaking to the two of them.

Justin looked at the person who grabbed him. "What do I think I'm doing. I'm being normal, look like you're too busy being a pathetic loser" he said harshly. This was going to be fun. A student had just grabbed hold of him. She looked panicked too. "Alright love, don't get to excited. Stutter-box over there might get jealous" he added.

Just staying quiet and nodding, Jake shoved his hands deeper into his pockets and avoided eye contact. He couldn't think of an appropriate response, and when the guy stuck up for him, Jake blushed slightly and looked up.

"Don't wwworry, sir... I g-g-get it alot."

Yeah, they kind of needed new material. This only worked if they said it over... and over... and over...


AND OVER AGAIN.

Behind his glasses, Jake's eyes flashed dangerously. Inside he was raging, oh yeah. But he was learning. NOT in front of a table of authority did you make a fuss.

Staring at the two Slytherins, Jake attempted to show no emotion, though there was pure fury in his eyes. Stupid school.

"Guhh-get llllost. Some p-p-people up hhhere want to huhh-have p-p-proper ccconversations, not trying t-t-to get duhh-detentions bbbecause they thuhh-think it mmmmakes them c-c-cool."

"Juhh-just leave it, Nuhh-nancy. I d-d-don't c-c-care," Jake insisted, failing to see Nancy's prefect badge.

He did care.

Soon, it wouldn't matter.

As soon as Tori got to the staff table, she panicked. Hadn't Justin said he would be right back? Well, he was a prankster and it looked like he was getting into trouble. Maybe she should stay out of it. But she had the perfect thing to do if he wanted to get into trouble.

She put her hand in her pocket and leaned over.

Pssst. Justin. Over here," she whispered so the girl hanging onto him couldn't hear.

"I need a life?" Nolan asked, raising an eyebrow. "I have one, actually, thanks. I have a great job, a loving fiance, and the loft I have in the city is rather comfy. So yeah, I'd say I have a pretty good life," he said with a grin. He'd been told that a few times while at school, due to the fact that his nose was always stuck to a book, so he got pretty good at responding to that remark. Hehe.

"Although, all jokes aside, you really need to cut down the attitude," he warned the boy sternly. He glanced from Violet to this newcomer, Justin, and could tell right away that these two were probably scheming together. That would NOT do. "I advise you start treating people with a bit more respect before you start losing house points. You house will NOT be very happy with you."

"It's not against the rules to simply touch someone," he pointed out. "And you shouldn't talk to him like that! You've already got a detention waiting for you after the feast, and I'd prefer it if you didn't force us to give you MORE punishment in addition to that."

"Hey Justin. As soon as you came over here I smelled trouble, but seriously man I told you I'd get you out of detention I never said anything about BREAKING you out. Hello Professor and Miss. Prefect , but if you'll excuse my friend and I we really should be getting back to the others." She smiled politely and mischieviously, but showing none of that to the teachers and prefect of course. Hehe

Justin burst into laughter. "Ok listen here stutter-box, some people want to be able to understand English not totaal gibberish. Got that Stutter-aid" he said between the gasps of laughter.

Then he looked at Tori. "hurry up Tori, I need this to work" he said eagerly as he stepped over to where Tori was stood.

Justin looked at the professor. "Er excuse me, but I don't cut the attitude and you don't tell me to. And you call living in a loft in the city with your nose glued to a book sucking up to the education board a life. Get real. That's torture, sir" he said. There was no way he would drop his attitude.

Justin then looked at Sarah. "I'm not moving a step until these pathetic morons show me some repsect" he replied refusing to budge.

"Then I hate to tell you this mate but you are in the wrong place if you are looking for calm around here." Marcus was totally serious as he spoke those words.

He had been teaching here for three terms and not one year had passed when something had not happened. It just seemed to be part of Hogwarts lifestyle.

Chuckling again, Marcus looked back out at the students, "Yeah they tend to get a little overexcited when they get here. Probably because they have to behave when they are at home."

Yeah and he didn't believe that for a second.

Totally missing what the woman was after, Marcus grasped her hand firmly in his and gave it a thorough shake. "Really nice to meet you Hecate" he said before dropping her hand and giving her a smile. "Which school did you teach at before?"

Turning his head at the sound of a very obnoxious voice, Marcus sighed heavily, there was always one.

"Mr Hendricks was it? Come over here to me. RIGHT NOW!"

"Ok so maybe its not but its still rude, he had no right to be touching me. Fine, then Im sorry and Im sorry to Mr. Stutters too." replied Violet. "So Im done talking to everyone except for you and Truebridge, since I need to know where to go after the feast."
She turned to Truebridge. "So wait, so I have to finish detention with you and maybe professor Reyner-Reynolds, then go to finish the detention with Mr. Strict?" she asked slightly confused.

"Fine. Here." she said thrusting the screaming yo-yo in his hands. Then she ran off.

Justin quikcly took hold of the screaming yo-yo and ran toward the professor who had just called him.

He smirked at the professor. "Mr Hendricks would be correct but you don't get the right to call me that. What can I do for his majesty? Besides bow for the Lord of the Manor. O wait, that ain't gonna happen" he said rather selfishly. He was sure to be in a lot of trouble but it was well worth it.

Annie nodded, in agreement to his quick comment. Although it was her weakest subject, the girl was really going to put effort into studying and paying attention, although the MANY distractions coming along this year. Like a boyfriend. "I'm sure your first lesson will go great, Professor. As you say, not too many people feel very fond of your subject, but we are here to learn, to at least know what it's about and try." She said, shrugging. "And maybe we can apply it later...or at different classes." She smiled and slightly bowed her head.

"Well, feel very welcome to Hogwarts. And can't wait for your first class..." She finally told the Professor.

Considering that this was Annie's fifth year, and it meant OWLs, she was going to be obligued to attend every class, which she hoped was possible. "I'm really looking forward for your class. This year, I'm sure will be tremendously fulfilling..." So true.

After Professor Hadley thanked her, Annie shrugged then smiled. "Oh. Nothing to thank for, you are the professors and you all need a warm welcome from the students. We don't bite.." She joked.

Well, well, well, look what we've got here. A snobby know-it-all who had just called her a pathetic loser? Nancy couldn't help but smirk at him, well, what else was there to do really? It was obvious that she was NOT the pathetic one here. "If it weren't for our house I would just leave be, you know, but as it is I would highly suggest you going back to our house table...NOW!" At this she tried to softly shove him away from the Staff Table a little in an attempt to solve this whole thing amicably.

"Oh, and don't call me love." Nancy couldn't resist to comment on this, rolling her eyes towards the ceiling. GUH! And there it was again. He had done it. AGAIN. He had called Jake Stutterbox again. "You-"

Nancy never got to finish that sentence though as she was cut short by Jake who insisted on her letting it drop. Had he given up?! It seemed he had...well, she wasn't going to. And if she had to be his personal bodyguard this term.

"Well, I care!" She replied, giving the Hufflepuff a stern look that somehow said that she did infact not believe him when he said that he didn't care.

Nancy could only blink in disbelief as two more Slytherins joined their little party up at the Staff Table. This was horrible. She should have stayed at home today...would they believe her if she just 'fainted' right there and then? "Yes, please go back to the others..." Nancy muttered a little half-heartedly, agreeing with one of the girl's suggestions even though she highly doubted that the Slytherin boy would abide by her orders...

...well, there. What else to expect?! Would they blame her if she just langlocked the boy? And Violet too while she was at it? Or maybe stun them or something? Guh! That probably wouldn't look good with the whole 'You're a Prefect, you have to set an example' thing, though. Crap!

"Why would they show you some respect?!" Nancy asked, a hint of frustration in her voice, while she simply stared at the boy in disbelief. "Why would they? After how you've just behaved!" Yes, it probably was useless talking to him, but somehow she felt the need to do something. Anything.

RAIDEEEEEN!!!

Nancy literally winced at the booming voice of Professor Lawson as he shouted at the irritating boy. Yes, finally. Somebody who could control the situation...maybe he would listen to him? Hopefully?

Nolan sighed. These two were NOT going to let up, were they? He didn't want to punish Slytherin house by taking numerous points, so he decided he did the only thing he could do.

"Unfortunately, since you two insist on disobeyed us and insulting everyone around you, I have no choice but to bring you to detention right now," he said with a sigh. He stood up and motioned for the two of them to follow him.

Chase had decided to follow Justin up to The Staff Table. She smirked at what he said."I don't think the point in pranks is telling on herself."She said amused.
Chase then walked up to a proffesor."Hello"She said smirking."I'm Chase,Chase Green"She said.

The Staff Table had become as busy as King's Cross Station, and Lexi couldn't be any happier about it. She was really pleased to see how sociable the children were---especially those Ravenclaws! With the amount of them hanging up here at the staff table, she was left to wonder if anyone was at their house table. She smiled at the newest little Eagle to approach her, a boy by the name of J.D. Santos. She'd guess he was a first year, but there was really no way to tell for sure. "Nice to meet you, Mr. Santos. I'm Professor Carlton, the Charms professor," she replied. She was starting to feel sort of silly repeating her name and staff position over and over again, but then again, she had to keep reminding herself that she was meeting a really large amount of people at one time.

At least Lexi had already introduced herself to this girl...or, well, she thought she had. Had she told the Hufflepuff prefect her name, or had she just assumed she'd know? Either way, it seemed like the Griffin girl had had a hard time remembering. "Yes, it's Professor Carlton," she said, nodding her head. She started to tell the girl that it wasn't necessary to call her ma'am---Lexi had never been too big on that word...it made her feel old---but she just let it go for now. Besides, maybe it was some required title now-a-days? She doubted it, though, because none of the other children had said it. "It's good for me to meet the students, too, you know. The first day of class would be pretty difficult if I at least didn't know some of you." She said that now, but...would she really remember the difference between Sarah Griffin and Anna Robles a few weeks from now?

Lexi looked back and forth between Sarah and Anna for a minute, trying to place each girl. When she was sure she knew who was who, she focused all her attention on Anna...Annie? Yes, Annie, she thought. "I'm glad you came to say hello, Ms. Robles. I have to give it you and those Eagles---you're one welcoming bunch," she said. ...and it was true! The staff table alone was pretty much packed with a sea of blue and bronze robes. It made Lexi sort of regret not being more sociable with her own professors when she was a student. Oh, sure, she'd enjoyed their company and said hello as they passed in the corridors...but greeting them at the staff table? Hmm...she was pretty sure she'd stayed at her own house table all those years.

She'd have talked a little longer with Annie, but the angry look on a Hufflepuff boy's face suddenly caught her attention. He looked...seriously unpleased with something or another. She thought that maybe it was the fact that the speech---and therefore the food and drink---had yet to arrive. She also thought about telling him not to worry---that she was ready for the feast to begin, as well. There were lots of things she would have told him, but he ended up getting involved in conversation with a few of the other professors. She smiled at him then turned to Iliana.

An adventure, hmm? Lexi wondered if married life was all it was cracked up to be. Was it really all that great to constantly have someone right there standing alongside you with every move you made? The thought alone made Lexi claustrophobic, and she glanced away for a single second to see some other woman breathing into a paper bag. Maybe she was thinking about the possibility of marriage, too. "An adventure, hmm? You mean...more like a roller coaster adventure, or more like a Nundu chasing you through the Forbidden Forest adventure?" she asked. With the look on Iliana's face, though, Lexi was leaning more towards her talking about a roller coaster adventure. All thoughts of marriage and the adventures that accompany it were tossed to the backburner when Iliana mentioned what subject she taught.

"I bet Care of Magical Creatures is interesting to teach! That's always been one of my favorite subjects, too! I have to admit, though---the muggle creatures are just as interesting," she said, thinking about her little puppy who was probably taking a nap in Lexi's living quarters. "I have a Chihuahua named Prince Charming. He was a gift from Allie for me getting hired as the new Charms professor." Speaking of Allie, Iliana had brought up the fact that Senior Undersecretary was a pretty demanding job---and it was...or, at least, Lexi assumed it was. "I think you're right. I don't really get to see Allie anymore...not as much as I'd like to," she admitted, a hint of sadness in her voice. She thought about asking who Juli and Vivi were, but that was another of those things she thought she really should know but had somehow forgotten. Merlin, she hated when that happened!

With the sudden appearance of another Hufflepuff, Lexi was left to wonder where in Merlin's name the Slytherin children were at. She'd only seen two so far---one of them was causing a scene of some sort, while the other had tried to stop said scene. Maybe they were all at their house table, or...maybe the feast had started at that end of the Great Hall? Lexi craned her neck to try and see further out into the Great Hall, but she ended up seeing pretty much nothing. She turned her attention back to the Hufflepuff girl and said, "Nice to meet you, Ms. Bellator. I'm Professor Carlton, the Charms professor."

Lexi's attention was quickly drawn to another Slytherin child---a boy calling out something about a possible dungbomb at the staff table. Lexi sniffed the air, but all she picked up on was what smelled like a few links of burned sausage coming from the direction of the kitchen. She turned to Nolan, who was already deep in conversation with the apparent dungbomber. "Sausage," she said to Nolan, sounding pretty sure of herself. "I guess that's one item we can scratch off tonight's menu." She sighed softly then turned back to the five, six, or seven people she was conversing with. Sausage or not, she couldn't be bothered with odd smells at the moment---they'd completely ruin her dinner.

"Mmmm, I see," Preston said thoughtfully. Well, if anything, his sister would be right. THIS would certainly be a change of pace.

"Is.. overexcited the word you were really looking for?" Preston asked hesitatingly, as he watched a rather dramatic scene unfolding down the table with great surprise. Sweet Merlin's sassy purple jumper, they were out of control.

He jumped a bit, as Lawson yelled for one of the misbehaving children, watching with great interest as the two offenders seemed to be given detention. And all before soup!

"Dear me," he said, getting comfortable at the table again. "I thought I remembered Slytherins being far more subtle than all that."

JP was very excited that his new Charms professor spoke to hiim with a very big smile on his face he bid his new professor farewell. "Nice to meet you as well Professor Carlton. I can't wait for our first class! See you then!" JP smiled and waved and walked back to the Ravenclaw table

Well... that was certainly eventful. Jake found himself remaining exceedingly quiet after the mini drama that decided to happen. He should have known not to open his great big stuttering mouth. He'd forgotten just how cruel some people could be.

Well no, he actually knew it very well. It was his drive, of course.

Still not done with his other conversation...s, Jake frowned to himself and sighed, looking at Masterson, trying to give the impression that he totally didn't care what happened. He totally hadn't wanted to push that kid off the dias.

Yeah. It obviously didn't affect him.

Stupid kids.

Looking over to the next professor he'd was planning on talking to, JP walked over to the transfiguration professor. With a big smile he looked up "Hello Professor. I'm JP Santos. A Ravenclaw First year. I wanted to come greet you before classes started! I can't wait for our first class!" JP smiled and looked right at the teacher

Chase walked up to the first proffesor she saw."Hello I'm Chase Green"She said."And I am pleased to meet you um....Stutter box?"She said smiling.
She had overheard Justin and Stutter Box's conversation earlier.(More like 2 seconds ago!)
