Dylan smiled, "I like it when you are around too. I miss it." He sighed. He really did. It made him sad that they weren't together. That she was with someone else.
He wrapped his arms around her, and took a deep breath. She smelt so good. Just as he remembered. "What's wrong Goldie?"
Gold hugged Dylan back. Mm, happy!hugs felt nice. Except this was a sad!hug, because she... just wasn't happy. The fact that half the Hogwarts population - staff included - seemed to have packed up their bags to leave permanently, wasn't a good thing. It made her want to leave, too.
"Torin's graduating," she said, simply. "Bubbles isn't coming back, next term. Neither are the Lawsons, or Professor Truebridge, or Xylon, or Raven." Heck, she was going to miss all of these people. Like mad.

"Makes me want to leave, too."
Everyone was leaving? How had he missed this? He really had shut him self off this year. And the Lawsons were leaving??? This wasn't good. That gave him no reason to come back at all now. Especially now if Gold was leaving. "You being here will be the only reason to stay. If you leave, I will leave too. I am sure WADA will take me early."
He sighed. This was awful. The worst news he'd had in a while.

Gold bit her lip. "Stop talking nonsense," she said, firmly. "It's just that sometimes, I think France was a lot better. I never had to think of all this, there. People deciding to leave. Broken hearts," she added, matter-of-factly. Then again, she had only been fourteen.
But sixteen wasn't sixty. She needed to stop thinking like that.
"Someone told me that muggle story. Goldilocks and the Three Bears," she told Dylan. You know. Because he called her that.

Goldilocks.
Dylan frowned again. What was nonsense? He didn't have to graduate here. Gold would be the only reason to return. So he could see her. "France probably was a lot better than here. But I am here. I am not in France." He hoped that that would make her stay.
He smiled, "I like that story. Reminds me of you." And the reason he called her Goldilocks.

Oh. Right. "If I had to make my decisions by your presence or absence," Gold said, cheerfully. "Life would be pretty hard. There was a time when you weren't here, Dylan."
She didn't say it in a mean way. Just a matter-of-fact one.
"I think it was silly." She laughed, a pretty laugh. "Too hot, too cold, just right. Too high, too low, just right. Too hard, too soft, just right." She was still laughing. "Repetitive, completely silly. But fun."

"I am sorry. Those 3 months were the hardest for me." He still regretted leaving her. He wished he had returned, she would be with him. And he would be asking her a very important question. But that isn't going to happen now. He'd have to save the ring for later.
"You are just right. Not too hot, and not too cold. Not too hard and not too soft. Just like Goldilocks. Perfect in every way."

Oh my. "That wasn't what I meant," Gold said, gently. "I've forgotten it happened, Dylan. I would rather not remember, you know?" Yeah, right. Like she could forget. Like she could ever forget. But it was true that she had tried - and, in some part, succeeded as well.
She blinked, at what he had said. No, no, no. Not again. Please no. "Oh."

......
"I don't have golden locks."
Fact.
Dylan chuckled, "You don't have golden locks. You have red ones." He ignored the first part about forgetting. He wanted to forget too. But he was never going to. Never ever.
"So what are you doing this summer?" he asked. He had no idea yet. He was probably not doing a lot.

Gold nodded. "That was my point," she said. "Goldilocks was called that because she had golden locks. Or so said Xylon." She had had fun, listening to that story. Especially given that they had been at a height of fifty feet - and on broomsticks - when he had told it.
Sounds awesome, right?
"Soaking up lots of France," Gold said, her green eyes lighting up at the mere mention of her home country. "You should visit. Stay for a week or two. If you want to, of course," she added.

He nodded, "Yeah that was why she was called Goldilocks. But you are called Goldilocks, because you are called Gold." All Gold and shiny. Xylon? Who was this Xylon she kept mentioning? Was that the guy that had punched him last summer? Probably.
"Oh I will do. Can I bring Lexi with me? She might like the sun." She could sunbathe, while Dylan spent time with Gold. Sounded like a nice plan.

"I kind of got that," Gold laughed. Goldilocks. Gold. Made sense, of course. Especially given that she didn't have golden hair.
"Of course," Gold said, at once. Lexi was more than welcome, at her home. "I would love to have Lexi over." Hopefully, Lexi would feel the same about this. Gold was going to make sure Lexi didn't feel like a a tag-along because, well, she wasn't going to be that. "Does this mean you're going to visit?"

I am not strange.. and.. well, maybe I am an 'indian-giver', or whatever they're called." She laughed.
"Why on Earth would I come with Trixie?" Yeah, they were related and all that, but lately they weren't close at all. Ella couldn't even remember when she saw Trixie last. Whatever. "So I guess it's just me then." She grinned. There wasn't any problem with that at all. She felt special. Psh. "Oh, well I do apologize if i'm such a freaky, strange person. Why don't you just break up with me?" She faced the front and placed her half-eaten cupcake on the table. Over-reaction? Uhhhhhhm yah.
She nodded but didn't say anything. Why was she so nervous? It's not like his family would be evil and cook her in a cauldron, adding salt and stuff to fatten her up.... She smiled when he said that they would love her. Unlikely. Not many people 'loved' her. "I hope so. You can meet my family too sometime, if you want." Grrrrrreat, she shouldn't of mentioned that. It made her feel a lot better when he kissed her forehead and was being so positive about it. It was a huge confort, but...... they knew Savannah???! Family friend? Great. "Seriously? Okay, they're gonna hate me." She huffed and fought the temptation to throw her cupcake on the ground in protest. Huh? Eustice? Who the heck was Eustice? OHHHH. "Oh! Awesome." She giggled.
Aiden nodded. Okay, well at least now he knew where she was coming from regarding the whole school nonsense. "Pfft. Everyone is strange, and you're no exception." He laughed slightly when she seemed somewhat puzzled at the 'indian-giver' thing. Maybe that was a muggle word..
Okay, okay! Maybe she wasn't going with Trixie. "Well, I don't know! Girls always need to travel with at least one friend glued to their side." It's like they couldn't be seen going somewhere by themselves. Then again, Ella wasn't as fussy about that sort of thing as most females were. "But I'm glad it'll just be you," he smiled. He watched as she gave a huff and said something about breaking up with her and her strangeness. Pshh. "Actually, I was saving the break-up for after the feast."
Aiden smiled when she added that he could meet her family. "I'd like to." Even though he knew he'd be hella nervous when it actually came to meeting them. Gahh. Better not to think about that now. He stifled a laugh at her reaction to his next words. "They will not hate you. In fact, they'll be relieved that you don't do the whole prissy, high-maintenance thing like Sav." Ehh. That got old fast. Huhh! She totally forgot who Eustice was - he could read it across her face. But, phew. She eventually seemed to remember. "Yes, awesome. After all that talk of your precious Pebbles, you better remember poor Eustice."
"I kind of got that," Gold laughed. Goldilocks. Gold. Made sense, of course. Especially given that she didn't have golden hair.

What? Better make sure.
Dylan nodded, "I promise I will. For as long as you want me." Which will be like a week then. She probably wouldn't want him for much longer. But he would have Lexi. Or maybe he could leave her there for a while, if she wanted to stay. He would think about it later. "Maybe for your birthday. I have a present for you." And he had to give her her Christmas gift that she didn't want.

"Two or three weeks," Gold said. "Because Bubbles is going to visit, and I'm not sure if you and she... well, get along." Dylan and Brody weren't the best chums out there, were they?
"I think my birthday is going to be a big affair, this year," she said, thoughtfully. "My parents want to celebrate my seventeenth." She was going to be of age. Sweet? Gold was still undecided, about that. "They have a lot of ideas, half of which they haven't told me."

To be honest, Gold was alright with that.
"Oh ok. I wouldn't want to intrude on your time with her." Dylan actually had no idea who Bubbles was. Though it was probably someone he didn't like. Maybe Torin. Or Brody.
"Oh. Then it'll be family and close friends then. I'll visit afterwards then." He smiled. He could just send her her present. Though it wouldn't be the same, as seeing her open it. And maybe the smile on her face.

Gold blinked. "You don't get along with her," she pointed out. Sure, she wanted alone time with Brody, but there was the more important fact that Brody and Dylan didn't actually like each other.
Or maybe they did. Gold wasn't even sure of that, any longer.
"You are a close friend." She gave him a look. Seriously. "If you don't know that, Dylan Denver, I should shake you hard."
Emma nodded and smiled. "Ah. Are you being sarcastic there?" she asked him. "You'll do fine! I'm sure of it! Hey there's a friend of mine that I want you to meet!" She saw James and waved to him! "Hey James! There's someone I want you to meet!" she cried, smiling
James spotted emma waving ans shouting for him to come over, so begrudgingly he walked over to see her, "Hey emma, oh cool always like meeting new people, who is it" he inquired

He smiled, "You are a close friend too. One of my best friends." The best one ever. He loved her still. Very very much. It was such a waste.

Everyone was strange? Pfft, nice save. "I like the term, 'everyone is different' a bit better, don't you?" Ella nodded. It was a whole lot nicer than going around calling people strange. It also wouldn't help them become social butterflies. Heh.
"Well, THIS girl -" She pointed towards herself. "Rides solo." She laughed, then thought for a moment. Eh, what the hey? "But I might bring Trixie actually. For moral support when I meet your family and stuff." She grinned. Just a joke, but she would bring her cuz. She took a sip from her drink, and almost choked on it. DARN, keep yourself composed! "Oh yeah? Not if I break up with you first. We're over, Aiden. Sorry." She narrowed her eyes. It was only a joke, would he believe her? Mwa hahaha.
"Cool. It'll be fun. The only thing that I'd warn you about would be my little brother. Remember his name?" She questioned with an amused grin. "He might... push you down the stairs, or something." She shrugged and ate another chip casually. "Are you sure? I can come wearing a mini-skirt if you'd prefer." She said seriously. Not that she would ever stoop that low. Ughhh, she looked ugly in girly-girl stuff. Flashbacks of the ball. Eep. "Of course I remember Euctice. And I'm glad you remembered Pebbles. But, is she a cat or a dog?" That was the REALLY testing his memory. Heh.

Nodding at what Marie said, because she totally did not forget that Lawson had promised them tickets and ice cream and...apparently shopping... Evelyn decided to just turn around and face the Professor so she didn't have to stretch her neck like an owl to see him.
Making sure not to bump either of the people she sat next to, the Slytherin finally got herself turned around and sitting much like Marie was. However, thankfully she didn't have Destiny to worry about grabbing her arm and possibly sticking it in the bowl of potatoes so she didn't run away. Wringing her hands in her lap, the girl stared around to the wall she was...now also facing... so she didn't have to look at the Professor.
For one, she still did not want to accept that he was leaving and two... he just asked them to hug him. Now normally, Evelyn would have scoffed and crossed her arms at the silly idea of actually hugging someone, but, then that brought her back to her first point. Lawson was leaving. And she didn't even know if he was going to keep his promise of getting them tickets to see the concerts, or get them gross ice cream, or probably go shopping at stores that Stutters went to.
Blowing out a small sigh, Evelyn stood up...and then stood still. No, no she couldn't hug him. It would be too weird and that creepy feeling she got under her skin whenever she had close contact with unwanted people would be too much. But, this was Lawson. He wasn't an unwanted person. Then again though, she didn't go around hugging him everyday so it'll still be weird...and still bring up those warning bells in her mind that it was still unwanted contact and closeness.
No. NO! She was GOING to hug him! Whether she liked it or not.
Taking a step forward, with a determined look, the Slytherin slightly opened her arms to hug him, before retracting and taking a step back. Oh this was weird. Definitely weird, but she could do this. She was Evelyn...! Yea! Just a...tiny hug. Yes!
...no. No, YES! Hug him! Dangit! Taking a step forward again, she was almost there but.... Perhaps she should just, let Marie and Destiny go first. Suddenly taking her steps back again, and trying to not look all twitchy or confused, Evelyn clamped her hands in front of her with a nervous smile before gesturing for Marie and Destiny to go before her.
Yea, that would...give her some time to adjust...set of mind. Gotta get in the right set of mind.

Pffft, must have been one of those house elves.
Paybacks for what happened in the kitchen that day..
Scooting the bowl even further away from herself, a tiiiiiny laugh escaped at the thought of someone eating out of it. Ohhh, that would totally make this HORRIBLE day a little better. Not by much, though, for nothing would make this day better..
..except if Lawson said he was going to stay.
Frowning, since she had realized that wasn't going to happen, she turned back towards him waiting for him to say something instead of just standing there staring. Merlin knows what the man was thinking. Probably trying to think of ways to give her detention before he left. She knew he wanted to lime her throw her in the dungeons ever since her first year. When he did finally speak, what he said was unexpected. She had thought he would have forgotten his promise to send them those tickets and take them out for ice cream. It made her feel a tad bit better, knowing that this wasn't actually goodbye.
Even more unexpected then him remembering something, was his request for a hug. Sure she hugged him before, but the first time was a dare and the second time involved tears. Well, there would be no dares or tears this time..hopefully. Noticing Evelyn gesture her to go first, Destiny pushed herself off the seat and spread her arms before..hugging him. Yeah, that was not weird at all. "Will you buy me a puppy? Please?"
He said he'd take them shopping!

She looked back up and half smiled when Professor Lawson said he didn't forget. Not only were they going to get tickets to a concert and ice cream but he was going to take them shopping too? Oh she would make sure she held him to it too. She would write him every day if she had to... you know since he did give her his address.
Aww, it was true. Professor Truebridge WAS leaving them too. Well this night just kept getting worse as it went along.
A hug? Lawson wanted them to hug him. Did the man forget what happened the last time they hugged him? He couldn't have forgotten that now could he? Seeing that Evelyn didn't seem too sure about hugging him, and then Destiny hugging him... and asking for a puppy? Marie jumped up and threw her arms around him. "You can't leave. Who's going to protect up from crazy Professor Lafay now that Professor Truebridge is leaving too? And.. and, who's going to sing with us at the next party?" Not that they would sing again if he wasn't there to make them like he did at the Ball. Pfft, dragging her away from Carter like that just to sing with him.
Seriously though, why wouldn't he listen to them and just stay?
As usual Evelyn just couldn't bring herself to be the first. He knew that she was quite a reserved person and didn't like to show her emotions but come on he was leaving!
Destiny had no qualms and he returned her hug as he burst into laughter and looked down at her with a raised eyebrow. "Nice try Shepard. Besides where would you keep this puppy?" The only dog he had ever seen at Hogwarts was the groundskeeper's dog.
And then Marie jumped in and Marcus wrapped his free arm around her. "Lafay's not so bad, you just need to know how to handle her." Well only he seemed to be able to handle her actually. It's not like the students could go around kissing her. He chuckled down at Marie, "Well make sure you visit me sometime and we can sing as many songs as you like."
Marcus looked over to Evelyn and he took his arm from around Destiny for a moment and pulled the young snake into their group hug. "See it's not so hard Evelyn" he murmured.
So there they stood all four of them in one big fuzzy group hug and yeah his eyes may have just been tearing up a little. He coughed to clear his throat. "Try and not give the new Muggle Studies Professor a hard time. Not all Professors are going to let you get away with as much I did."

Emma grinned. "Yeah. You know I haven't seen her in a while. Been to busy with school." she explained. She wished one of them would talk to the other. But if they didn't she would have to do the talking then.. She smiled softly at James.
