Seating Area Set-up Clusters of tables wait to be arranged, and an array of options for centerpieces, table clothes, and chair covers. Don't see exactly what you want? Look closer! It's probably there. There are also several long tables pushed up against the wall, should they be needed for food. |
Alexandrie Malfoy-Lupin walked into the place where they would be Decorating the tables glancing around She waited for the Leader to get here so she and the rest of the group to get together and start, after all it was a group effort. |
Whistling, because apparently that was something he often did while walking, Treyen showed up to wait for not-evil Brody. She was their leader, right? And....AWESOME! He wasn't the first one to arrive. Perhaps. Though, he didn't know if this girl was part of their group or not...he was certain he'd missed a meeting. "Hi there! Are you in the people-in-charge-of-tables group?" he asked, smiling at the girl. A Slytherin, by the way. "I'm Treyen, Treyen Lockhart...you are?" if she was lost, then he could help her find her way. |
Alex turned around at the sound of another person's voice finally she thought, "No, I'm just apart of the group." She answered smiling kindly at the Hufflepuff. "I"m Alexandrie, Alexandrie Malfoy-Lupin although everyone just calls me Alex." She introduced herself after the guy, Treyen introduced himself, "It's a pleasure to meet you Treyen, Treyen Lockhart." Alex told him being her typical self, after all everyone loves a bit of humor. She wasn't sure what to do now as they were both waiting for their leader to show up. |
Blink. Wait. That's what he meant, right? Treyen frowned a bit, wondering what his previous words had been...why ponder in the past? Let's look into the future. Divination. Yes! "Then I'm in the right place" but, of course, he already knew that, "Alex, nice meeting you..." he smiled, and then frowned again, "...but no, it's Treyen Lockhart...not Treyen, Treyen---Oh, I see" and then he laughed, but mainly as his inability to comprehend the joke. The point? He name was Treyen. End of it. "Have you seen Brody anywhere?" because he'd failed to see the sixth year (?) on his way up. |
Alex blinked trying to recall the name, "I don't know a Brody, is he in the group as well?" Alex asked knowing the kid was laughing at the joke because he didn't understand it. She reviewed his other words, "The joke was because you introduce your first name twice like it was also your middle name." Alex told him chuckling, she thought it was funny. |
The boy tilted his head to one side, "Brody is a girl" first of all, but considering she was perhaps a first or second year, and not a Hufflepuff. Then why should she be acquainted with Brody? "I believe her to be our group leader" or so he was meant to understand. A chuckle. As he remembered the time he thought Aaron had confused him with someone named 'Mate', while in fact he'd meant something else. But, yes. Wait. Memories of Jack-Jack also made a way to his mind. Could it be possible that Jack-Jack Fritzera's name was NOT Jack-Jack, but Jack? Nah, that couldn't be it, where's the fun in Jack? "Have you got any ideas? I suggest you write them down, it'll be quicker for us to discuss things...when the leader arrives" which should be any minute now. And the other one involved. |
Alex almost rolled her eyes, "Brody sounds more like a guy name." She muttered grabbing a piece of parchment from her bag and a quill and ink. She thought it out there was tons of ways to decorate tables, with plants, with symbols..ect.. Quote:

Treyen chuckled, "Try telling Brody that, really, try it" because she could thought of it as a fun comment...or not like it at all. Either way, it ought to be fun to see her reaction. And then...the nerves of this girl! Why, of course he was writing his own list! "Yes, I'll do that too" which is why he took a seat and moved some samples over the other side of the table for him to have a comfort place to write. The peacock quill was out, and so was a...notebook!...how muggle-ish! And, now, we wait for Brody, yes? |
Alex rolled her eyes, "you know what everything I say always ends up being taken as an insult, so i'll just shut up." Alex muttered to herself fed up with everyone and the way they took what she said, they were all jerks. Alex sighed thinking back onto placements of tables..God where were the others she thought. |
Er, what? Treyen blinked a bit, and stared at the girl, did he say something he was not supposed to? See, Slytherins were rather weird people, the one exception so far had been Pierre. "I'm...sorry...I didn't mean anything like that" he said, eyes filled with with a worried look. Really. He was kidding about the Brody thing, or not 'kidding', he actually wanted to see the sixth year face. And...since he didn't know what else to say, he started to flip some fabrics around, trying to separate them by colors that fitted different seasons. Yes, that seemed like a better way to spend his time, instead of making the girl angry. |
Alex blinked looking at the ..person..Treyn? whatever, "Oh just talking to myself." Alex responded acting like it was a normal thing to do. Which, it was a little..Alex turned back to her page and thought, "Aren't there like four people supposed to be here? There seems to be either a mix up with our numbers or they feel asleep." Alex asked confused. |
Yes. Keeping away from Slytherins might be a good idea. Brody, please come! NOW! Oh. Okay. Treyen nodded, and forced a smile, while he separated the silver and the gold sample from the others. Those were usually useful for this sort of decorations...or, for most of them. He wrote something else in his notebook, and looked up as Alex spoke again. "I think so, then again, I knew I was coming slightly early...they must be arriving soon" VERY SOON, very, very soon. He eyed something that looked like bronze...and separated that as well. They actually had plenty of work to get done. And he had plenty of Quidditch practice...perhaps this was a bad idea? No, no, nothing was a bad idea, helping was great. |
Alex rose her eyebrows, she was getting the vibe the person didn't like her or Slytherins.. either way she would never understand the hatred people showed for them, they weren't evil just very sly and sneaky..and most of them were bookworms after all knowledge can be considered power. She shook it off and focused on ideas..she jotted down: Quote:
OOC: Italics are the new ideas everytime Alex adds a new idea it'll be in Italics so people don't get confused. |
Yeeey Brody had got power. Sort of. Haha. The blonde wandered along the corridor, a little late to meeting the rest of the group. But she was allowed to be late...she was cute hehe. As she arrived she saw that there were two people already there. Awesome. "Hey guys....Treyen" She smiled at the little hufflepuff, before nodding at the slytherin whom she didn't know as she approched them. "I'm Brody." And worship me. "and I'm the leader." Like they didn't know what the reaked of dominance. Haha. "and I'm late." She giggled. Oh well. They were missing one person anyway. |
Alex nodded, "Well it was kinda little obvious..as your the oldest here." Alex told her almost rolling her eyes, it was a little obvious you had to admit she was considerably older then her and the other kid. "But i'm Alex..and so far youngest." She added turning back to the page. |
"Brody!" his smiled widened, mostly out of relief of not being alone with the Slytherin girl, but also because, well, Brody was pretty, and she was a Huffie, and she had golden hair. Treyen left the fabrics alone, and chuckled at her comment of being late. She wasn't THAT late, really, just a few minutes, big deal. "How many more are we?" the boy asked, closing the notebook. "Should we start discussing something? Or wait for someone else?" he wasn't that eager to start, but, they had to do something, right? |
Alex looked around trying to recall the number of people in the decorations committee, "I think there is one more person." Alex told him, if she was right they're were around 15 or 16 people..and that would mean around 4 in a group. She looked at the leader as if asking her, "Alright..uh..Crody..no wait it's Broy?..no Brody! that's it." She thought after asking Merlin she was horrid at names. |
Preston hurried over to the table group, a handful of samples with him. Approaching the three, he smiled tightly. "It seems your last group member has had to leave the committee, so I'll be helping you out a little more than I would have." |

Brody smiled at her little hufflepuff. Treyen seemed happy to see her and that was cutte. He was cute too though, so she would give him that. She ruffled his hair with a little grin. "Hey Sweetie." She loved her hufflepuffs hehe. She glanced at the Slytherin girl. "Just because Im the oldest wouldn't necessarily make me the leader..." She stated, almost dismissevely, but she still smiled. They needed to work as a group and as a group they would work. hehe. Oh. Brody smiled at the Professor. So they were one person down but he was going to help them. That was awesome. "Well umm...." Where would they start. hmm. "So...I was thinking maybe we should like decide upon what shape tables we want...and like how many tables, chairs we want first...then we can decide on how to decorate them after." She suggested with a smile. That would work? |
Oh. One deserter. That's no good. Was this particular part of decorations difficult?! He hoped not. Aha! Treyen frowned, he didn't enjoy the ruffling of his hair...it was now ALL MESSY! But, it was Brody, he wouldn't make a big deal out of it. Right after that, he proceeded to put his hair in place. No messy hair. But a Professor was up to help them. That should work out, right? The boy smiled, and then turned into working-mode as Brody started to talk about what to discuss first. Being used to classes, Treyen raised his hand, before realizing there was no raising hands here, or was there? "Well, I think round tables have often been used for this sort of thing, because those are more comfortable for Balls and parties...they accommodate a varied number of people according to the size of the table...and if someone pops up uninvited then the seat of said person can be added without a fuzz" he said, with a nod, eyes flickering between Brody, Professor Kingsley and Alex, "Plus, we have no sharp edges, like the square ones...or rectangular...or those kind" true, so people won't lose part of their outfit with the tables. He, then, eyed his notebook...chairs? Like...how many type of chairs were there?! "Umm, as far as chairs...wouldn't they be like dining chairs?" what other kind of chairs could you place with this sort of table? |
Alex looked at them, "Well Round tables work best if someone decides to eat and maybe long tables to set food onto that way people can put what they want on a plate and take it back to wherever they sit." She suggested, "Maybe dinning chairs or plush chairs for sitting that way people are comfortable." She added nodding to the Hufflepuff, second year it was a very good idea. "But I don't know we'd have to see after the Food Committee makes their choice on food options." Alex said raising her head, after all they didn't want to clash or something. |
Preston nodded. "Round tables also make conversation easier. It's hard to talk to someone at the other end of a long table, but at a round, the distance isn't too great." He looked at the small group. "Best not wait for the food committee and instead have a couple of options ready for when they decide. Those tables will only need table clothes and maybe some of the centerpieces." |
Alex nodded at the Professor's reply, "Okay, well we need to see who all will be attending before deciding on the number of tables but we can plan for center pieces and table clothes." She muttered to herself looking at her list, "Anyone want to add something?" She asked waving her list, "I came up with a few ideas but I"m just a kid." Alex added, she didn't want to seem like she was trying to lead. |
