Poor boy. Treyen listened at everything the Prefect had to say, and nodded in some parts, and his eyes were widened in the other parts. Yeah, no matter the freedom, he wouldn't want to go through it.
And now, the little Lockhart DID NOT want to look at the process. NO! But, for educational purposes, he had to. Ooooh, that was a pretty little dog. "Professor, if you don't turn him into himself again...how long will he stay that way?" he asked, after raising his hand.
Dylan's eyes lit up. A Puppy!Raiden. He wanted to snuggle it. But instead it went to Lexi. He ran his hands over his pants pockets. He had to have a treat somewhere. Artie's treats wound up in all sorts of places. Ah ha! A biscuit. A little bone shaped biscuit. That might tempt the puppy.

The story wasn't as good as the first time she had heard it, there was no funny voices or talking like he was from the old times, and he left out a lot of other details, but it was still good to hear again.
She watched with interest as her friend was turned into a little dog again. She was right, he was a CUTE little dog. Grinning she watched as dog!Raiden ran towards a girl he hadn't seen in a while. Cute dog!Raiden. CUTE.

Raiden had nodded, and taken a deep breath, just before the professor had cast at him. The second before the spell connected, he closed his eyes; the height difference had had his dog!self stumbling around the first time, in a sort of dizzy shock, but he'd realised that closing his eyes so that he didn't see the world before him growing taller helped with that.
His body was quick to change. It was all over within a moment; he'd shrank, fur appearing all over as his form changed, and where Raiden had once stood, there was now a rather smallish dog. It blinked for a moment, looking first up at the person closest (being the Professor), and letting out a tiny bark before it bounded toward the group of students.
Friendly, friendly puppy wanted pets. PETS. He went straight to the closest person (Lexi) and sniffed her kneecap.
PETS. GIVE US PETS. He let out a little yip and put his front paws up on her knee, looking expectantly at her and the persons sitting next to her.
ooc note: He's really small and rather light, just for everyone's information. He's not more than a foot tall and shibas tend to be skinny dogs, while still solid.
YAY!!! Doggy!Raiden has come to her. She could squealed with delight. Instead she reached down and began to scratch behind Raiden's puppy dog ears and under his chin. EEP! She loved doggies!
"Oh Raiden, youa re the cutest doggy EVER!" she whispered to him as she scratched his little ears once more. WIN! No Kneazle ear scratching, but this was way cooler.

Mina leaned forward slightly and watched with slight wonder. Raiden was a shiba inu! He did make a cute one thought. Memories of seeing him with his kneazle ears came to mind and she smiled. Looking back to Kingsley, she waited to see what would happen next.

Lexi's mouth dropped open as she watched Raiden turn into the cutest little doggy of LIFE. She wanted to scratch his ears. Yep.
Oh wow... it was so neat to see it done in front of her. Raising her hand quickly she asked, "Does it hurt people to be Transfigured by someone else, sir? I mean is there a specific feeling one gets... maybe like a tingling sensation or something?" It might be a stupid question, but she was totally interested.
Eyes almost always on the prefect-turned-puppy, Preston also took questions.
"Well, Miss Kennedy, it depends. Some describe the sensation as unpleasant and others find it quite tickling. Whether it is merely different descriptions of the same sensation, or actually different sensations, we can't know. I can't feel what you feel, or vice versa. I have not heard accounts of it being painful, however."

Sometimes, those who are just learning won't be able to send clothes into non-being and the person simply slips out them, leaving them in a pile. "

Ahhhh this girl was scratching his ears and under his chin and puppy!Raiden made that face that Shibas were known for making when they were happy. He probably would've just stayed there, front paws perched on the girl's knee, had he not sniffed the air and...
O_O!!! FOOD!
He could smell it. Someone had something distinctly food-smelling. His head turned inquisitively in the direction of the smell and he stood still for a moment longer, looking at all the people sitting there.
Whoooooo had it?
Jumping backwards a bit and putting his front paws back on the ground, he padded across the front of the group, sniffing both the air and the ground before something distinctly familiar overpowered his need to find the food.
It was a little girl (Arya). Raiden paused in front of her and sniff sniff sniiiiiiiiiiiffed, big puppy eyes blinking before the Shiba smiiiiiiile broke across his face. THIS ONE. Something told him this one was important. He very nearly recognised her.
He barked at Arya and kinda pranced around on the spot excitedly. Pay attention to us, little girl!
Awww! He was sooo cute! But that was horrible. Completely unethical. But he was soo cute! Ellie sqealed at the puppy in delight. Mannn why'd he have to be human?

Raiden was a dog.
Snickering slightly, Evelyn watched him go over and bug someone. Teehee. Wait, wasn't he the one that always got transformed into stuff? She swore that every time she saw him, he had some random animal part on him.
Hmmm...
Going back to staring at the puppy, Evelyn frowned for a moment when the Professor said they could feed him random stuff. Darn.
[COLOR="Indigo"]His eyes strayed to the rustling in the pocket. "If that is a plain dog biscuit, I'll allow it, but please, everyone else, do not feed random things to Mister Kururugi. Thank you."
Dylan nodded, "It is Sir. I feed them to my crup." Random things? Did people really eat bone shaped biscuits? "I always happen to have some on me. In case Artie gets hungry. Which is a lot when he is running round."

Alex tried not to laugh, she really did, but as the Professor finished what he was saying she giggled, yes let's not feed things to the prefect, she thought giggling madly. She tried to stop but it seemed her mind was having fun with the thought of someone feeding the prefect turned dog, dog food or the dog eating grass. At the final thought Alex's giggling doubled in amusement. She was trying at least. "Professor, if a person who has been transfigured into a dog happens to eat chocolate what would happen? Would that person be harmed by the chocolate?" Alex asked after raising her hand still giggling randomly.
Preston nodded once again. "Well reasoned, Miss Laksh. Most of the transfigurational magic that we've studied would indeed be the kind that would eventually wear off. However, we'll see that there are some circumstances in which the myth could be plausible."
Continuing, he scanned the room. "In theory, reproduction could be possible but whether the offspring would be viable, or would be completely the new creature, rather than a transfigured one, is unknown. Experiments of that sort would be highly, highly unethical." He paused. "And, if we are going with possible, rather than definite, or even highly probable, perhaps quintapeds have a much longer lifespan than humans and we are indeed still seeing the first generation." However improbable that could be. If no one could get close enough to study one, how would anyone really know?
He looked around the classroom. "Perhaps your classmates have some theories, as well."
Quote:
Preston nodded, taking note of the look at Prefect Kururugi. Perhaps the boy had some experience in such matters?
Quote:
He stopped in the middle of the classroom to pose another question. "So, what kinds of human transfiguration are there?"
Gold nodded, more to herself than anyone else as, having dipped her quill in pink ink, she took down a few notes. There was a theory that she really, really liked, in particular. Gold noted it down, and decided she would bring it up, later on. Maybe in the Transfiguration Club.
AND that question was pretty easy. Basic theory. Lots of people were quick to answer it, of course. Gold stayed silent, listening even though she wasn't saying anything out loud.

Whoa, lots of answers to that. Gold didn't take notes, right then, because she already knew all that theory, pretty well. She had studied it for a long, long while, after all. But there was a topic, that she hadn't approached. Because she hadn't wanted to. She raised a hand, then decided against asking the question, and lowered it.
She could ask Professor Kingsley later, couldn't she? Because she had a feeling the question might disturb the younger students.
It certainly disturbed her.

He turned to the class. "Observe carefully. This isn't simply for your entertainment. If you have questions, please ask them."
Returning his gaze to the boy, he nodded. With a flick of his wand, and an intent look on his face, Professor Kingsley transfigured the Prefect, once again, into a shiba inu.
GOSH!
Puppy!Raiden was sooooo cute. But then, Gold had expected that. Because, you know, Rai was cute; so it only made sense that Rai-in-pup-form would be cute, too. It was like Rai and the kitty!ears. He had looked all adorable in them, as well. That's why Gold had always wanted to tickle his kitty!ears. AND managed to do it, a couple of times.
She gave the puppy cute, little looks, wondering if he would come up to her. She wanted to pet him. CUUTE.
Alexa nodded as Professor Kingsley explained the difference that other would feel while going through the transformation. That made sense. Indeed. Awwww Raiden was padding away from her *pout*. "Thank you Professor, I completely understand," she said as she scribbled down some of the information on the parchment she had on her lap.
Er, yeah, Treyen won't be playing with human transfiguration, don't worry about it.

Destiny sat back and watched as, once again, Raiden was the subject of these Professor's insane demonstrations. If she remembered correctly, this was the third time he was used.
She still remembered those cookies from last term.
And as the Prefect changed into a DOGGIE, she wished she had a cookie to feed to him! Who cares that Kingsley said not to feed him stuff, what was going to happen? He'd probably just have to use the..bathroom.

Alex nodded at the Professor writting it down, "Thank god I don't bring anytime of sugar or candy to class." she muttered under her breath, she really hoped Selena didn't bring chocolate to this class, just because she hated the prefect didn't mean she wanted him harmed..wait, "If he's a dog..wouldn't he just eat the bag once he smells the food?"" Alex asked raising her hand, generally that was what dogs do after all.
"I remind you, while this looks like a tremendous amount of fun, that there are significant dangers to human transfiguration. Accidents can have permanent effects. If you cast on yourself, you might not have anyone around capable of putting you right."
He scanned the room, always aware of the prefect's whereabouts.
"I caution you all against foolhardy behavior when it comes to this branch of magic."
She wanted Rai, the PUPPEH! Gold eyed him once again, wondering how and why Raiden was the one who always landed himself into stuff like this. The kitty!ears; the Runes class, last year; and now, this.
Well, still CUUUTE.
Hehe.
She looked thoughtful for a moment, and then raised a hand. "Professor, is it possible to remain stuck in one's animagus form, when one one wants to change back? I was thinking of Metamorphmagi. We know they can have difficulty switching back, or switching to a different appearance, based on emotions. Could the same apply to an animagus?"
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay the girl was going to pat him. Raiden sat down and puppy!smiled a storm; but he could smell food again. AGAIN. It was here somewhere. Someone had something that smelled nommy.
He sniffed Arya's face. She was not food. He gave her cheek an experimental lick, which... only confirmed that she was not food. She was a friend though! He'd come back, he'd come back. He had to find the FOOD. His tail gave a wag as he stood back up, gave Arya's cheek another lick, and then he bounced off, slipping between students as he tried to find the source of the smell.
He came to a stop between two girls (Gold & Evelyn) and looked back and forth between the two.
Woof.
The one with the shiny hair was more familiar and he nudged her first with his his nose before turning to look at the other again.
You has the treat? You? No? He waited just long enough to give an experimental sniff and lick the girl's knee before trotting off toward someone else. He passed another girl (Ellie!HaroPerson), slowing to sniff her speculatively before trotting off again. Not her, not her... he passed by Mina slowly as well, and gave her knee a nudge with his nose before continuing on.
Destiny got a headbutt in the shin, a rather gentle one, and he paused to sniff her experimentally. Treat on her? She smelled familiar but she didn't have a treat. He licked her knee as well and let out a small bark in her direction though, before continuing on his way.
It was starting to seem like he wasn't destined to reach the person with the treat though, because he paused in front of a girl who smelled even more familiar than the other had.
Raiden!puppy paused and stared very intently at Celandine Toussaint. You has treat for us? You?
He lingered in front of her for quite a bit longer than he had in front of other students before letting out a little yelp and, jumping to put his front paws in her lap, he licked her face, grinned, then bounced off toward another person (Dylan), passing a few students rather slowly on his way (Alex, Treyen, anyone else).
THIS ONE HAD THE TREAT. O_O!
SHARE, PERSON SHARE!
ooc: If I didn't play him walking past you/pausing, feel free to play that he did so and pet him. I want everyone to get a chance before he's human again. Haha.
Preston considered a moment, eyes scanning the room for illicit candy.
"Well, it's not quite the same thing, but yes, that transformation is painful. Exceedingly so. But it isn't analogous to being transfigured with a spell."
Oh, well, he had assumed it being almost the same thing, transfiguration-wise. But they were not. That's what Professor Kingsley just answered.
He liked learning.
Treyen wrote this down, because THAT transformation WAS painful. Shudder.
Mmhmm. He nodded but....what did he say? Tremendous amount of fun?! Er, no. This was not truly fun. Treyen liked himself as a human, thank you very much, that's why this wasn't as fun as many thought.
Transfiguration could be dangerous, yes, people could turn into monsters, like those freaky looking Quintapeds.
So, the Prefect!Dog made his way, rather slowly, next to him and the other girl. Er, go away! I have nothing for you! But, thankfully, the dog made its way to the Slytherin boy. Awesome. Yes, the dog was cute, and very pretty...at a distance, not so near him. Ironically, Treyen would've petted the dog if he had no idea it was actually the Prefect.
