You knock on the door and hear a deep voice beckoning you inside. Once inside, you are greeted by various portraits of Quidditch greats of years' past and present. The largest of the portraits is that of the man sitting behind a massive mahogany desk - Professor Maximus O. Vindictus, a legend in his own right (and some would argue, mind). His blonde hair, twinkling blue eyes, and gleaming smile are unmistakable, and you realize you are in the presence of a professional athlete and celebrity who even managed to find the time to pursue university degrees as seen by the two large, framed diplomas that hang proudly on the wall. Looking around the room, you begin to notice overstuffed navy blue leather couches that flank the coffee table by the fire. Various Quidditch magazines and books lay on the coffee table, as does a bowl of chocolate frogs. On each side of the fireplace, are two trophy cases - the hardware inside gleaming after a good polishing.

The door to the office is closed and locked. You will need to knock and wait for Professor Vindictus to allow you inside.

Ellie walked up to the Quidditch professor's office and knocked on the door with a deep breath. She turned around and looked at Melissa and gave her a half smile.

Melissa followed her. Piece of cake, it will go smoothly, she hoped. "I'm sure that he is a nice person," she spoke, trying to make Ellie feel better.

Ellie nodded.

"It will be fine." she agreed. "What's the worst that could happen anyway?"

Professor Vindictus was whistling cheerfully as he approached his office and took notice of the two students waiting patiently outside his locked door. "Good day!" he greeted them and unlocked the door. He held it open for them. "Both of you are more than welcome to come inside and have a seat."

Ellie came inside. Okay, he didn't seem as mean as she had pictured him....

"Professor, we had a question," she said, taking the lead. She glanced at Melissa, showing they were together.

"Go ahead, I'm listening," Vindictus replied and crossed his arms across his chest while waiting to hear what the girls had to ask him.

"Well,... It's just..." Ellie stuttered. She never stuttered. But Vindictus looked quite intimidating with his arms crossed like that.

She took a deep breath and began again.

"First off, we were wondering, or I was at least because I don't believe anything unless I'm told directly, if it's true the pitch is closed outside of class...." Now, she was nervous.

"That is correct," Vindictus answered. "And no one is allowed to fly anywhere else on the school grounds."

Ahh. He said what she feared. This gave Ellie all her courage back, though.

"But professor! How are we supposed to practice? For tryouts and stuff? And flying just for fun? I mean, what if someone didn't make the team? Are they just supposed to go a whole school year without flying? Or only flying during lessons? How is that enough time!? Whyy??" she said/asked/complained very fast. She was rambling and could have gone on. She neeeeeeeded to fly..

He stared at the girl. "First of all, you're a Ravenclaw so quit complaining," he said sternly and his jaw twitched. "Flying at this school only happens under my direct supervision. You and the rest of the school must adhere to the rules regarding flying and learn to appreciate the times when the Practice Pitch is open for recreational flying. This only happens when I feel it is necessary. Complaining and whining to the Flying Professor and Quidditch Official who is also your Head of House will not persuade me to change things to your liking."

Now this seemed more like the Professor Vindictus she'd heard of. He scared her. She swallowed.

"Sorry, Professor," she said bowing her head. Her voice had become shaky. She wasn't usually like this... She was normally quite calm..

Good job, Ellie, get on his bad side... she thought..

Vindictus stared at her for a full minute. Little did the girl know that he had some rather unsavory business to attend to in the school.

"Apology accepted. Now I suggest you keep an eye on the bulletin board outside my office for any notices pertaining to the Practice Pitch being open for recreational flying," he said and hoped that she wouldn't try to break the rules by sneaking a broom out to the grounds by the Lake. "Is there anything else you need to ask me about?"

Wait. What did he just say?

Ellie's head shot back up and her blue eyes stared into her head of house's, "Professor, there is recreational flying, then?"

The color began to come back to her face, but she didn't dare smile.

He stared in disbelief. "Only when I deem it necessary," Vindictus replied.

She still didn't like this... He didn't respond the way she thought he would.

"Well, yes. I got that. I was just under the impression that there wasn't any. At all." Ellie said. Of course, maybe if she'd read the notice board... Then it might have been a different story..

"But, sorry, Professor. And thank you. I'll be sure to check the notice board." Yikes!

Recreational flying? Was there recreational flying? Well Vindictus did say 'Only when I deem it necessary' but she had no comment. She just listened to Vindictus and Ellie talk well it didn't seem like talking more of arguing, which felt like Vindictus was going to win any time. Vindictus also seemed quite harsh and he was Ravenclaw's head of house! Eek, she wondered who was her's but they weren't here to discuss that, they were here to discuss, well she forgot. Ellie and Vindictus wiped it out of her memory when they were talking. Oops. Erm, just stay calm Melissa.

Keeley numbly walked to the door of Professor Vindictus's office. The past half hour felt as though it hadn't been real, and she was still trapped in a nightmare. After the Headmaster had taken Emilya away, the girl had gone and changed out of her bloodstained clothes and reported right here, like she was supposed to. She brushed aside a long, brown, tearstained braid as she knocked at the door.

Emily walked into the area outside of proffessor vindictus' office. She had heard from Keeley that she was going to go tell him about witnessing the death. Emily decided she needed to be strong and go too. She was wearing Emilya's clothes so that she could celebrate her life. She had had a good sleep thanks to the nurse giving her a potion to give her a dreamless sleep. Even so she still felt Emilya's hand in hers, she still saw Emilya slip from it, she still heard the sound of Emilya's head hitting the edge of the stone steps.

Emily was struggling with the thought that she would never see Emilya again, it hadn't even been a year since she met her long lost twin, but she knew her as if they had been together since they were babies. At thirteen she was struggling with thoughts that she couldnt live without her now, thoughts a thirteen year old should never struggle with.

Emily stood there now next to Keeley who had been there, she tried a smile but she could only manage something vaguely happy looking. she then knocked a few times at the door since she saw Keeley had been there for a little while.

"Hey." she said to her and looked at Emilya's yellow plastic shoes on her feet. She had seen herself in the mirror when she put on the outfit, and had almost cried at the fact that she looked like Emilya. Of course it was hard not to look like her when they were.... had been... twins.

He was waiting for the girls to leave when he heard two more knocks on his door. "Come on in," Vindictus called out and began to wonder if and when he'd be given a good hour to himself so that he could finalize the Quidditch schedule and thoroughly analyze the rosters submitted by all four captains.

Abbi made it to Professor Vendeektus's office, no wait she took a step back to read his name again guh! Vindictus. She had to see him about flying, this she saw would be a problem she had to fix, well she had a lot of problems she had to fix too.

She knocked on the door. Knock. Knock. KNOCK.

"Come on in!" Vindictus called out rather loudly. Maybe I need to get one of those fancy signs that flashes 'OPEN' in neon pink lights or place a complex web of spells on my doorstep that automatically brings the person inside my office when I'm here....

Abbi opened the door and walked in, the moment she stepped in she felt sooo small. Uhhh, "Hello Professor" she said trying to add a smile but it came out wrong, she jinxed it! Okay focus. "Are you busy? There wasn't any office hours time on the door".

"I'm never busy when it comes to helping students," Vindictus replied and motioned at the seating area. "Please have a seat and tell me what's on your mind."

There was no reason to worry was there? She intertwined her fingers together and sat down placing her hand on her lap. "I'm honestly happy to hear that Professor" she admitted, "I have a lot of things on my mind to be honest. Mainly confusion that I'm hoping would settle once I understand everything. But I'm here about flying. I'm worried".
