Alex looked at the rope, "Uh Professor..How long will I be tied together with -" Alex stopped the think of the girl's correct name, "Ellie?..Ella..Ell?" Alex stumpled over the name, Alex decided to do the dirty work grabbing the cloth and cleaner waiting for the girl to get ready to clean as well.
Looking at the two girls who were supposedly in detention, Josephina sighed. They seemed genuine and clear to have learned their lesson. They were young, the professor knew. And yet somehow, though she wanted to be hard on them, she couldn't. She had - as Ellie pointed out at the end of the lesson - already took points. Points, which even back when Fina was a student, she still knew to be VERY precious to many students.
"I had planned for something a bit more extreme for chatting after explicitly told not to," Fina sighed, looking back and forth at the pair. "But I really don't have it in my heart to do that to you, so I will say this: Consider this fair warning, one step out of line, for any reason, and you will find yourself in the dungeons for an indefinite amount of time." That was fair, right? Hopefully. More importantly though, hopefully it wasn't too lenient.
"Before you're both dismissed, then you are to work together to clean up the cupcake mess. The muggle way, with no wands. And by together, I literally mean that," With a quick flick of her own wand, she tied the girls' ankles to each other with some conjured rope, followed by summoning both their wands. She handed one girl a broom and dustpan, as well as cloth and cleaner to the other girl. "Together," she reminded them, because without teamwork, she doubted they'd be able to adequately clean up the mess.
Ellie nodded. Psshh.. Easy! She cleaned the muggle way for the past eleven years! But she definitely let out an audible 'Eep' when her wand flew from her holster. Her precious wand. She had come to value that beyond anything else these past few weeks.
Then a rope bound her to that Lafay-loving girl. Ugh. Not cool. She took the broom and dustpan and looked at the girl expectantly. She needed to start getting all the frosting up before Ellie could clean the crumbs. Otherwise all the broom bristles would get all sticky and icky.

"It's Ellie. Actually." she said. Merlin! She could at least get her name right. She was kinda awesome that way. Unlike the girl, she didn't deserve a proper name yet in her book. Nope.
Alex looked at the rope before looking up to Ellie, "Yes well I'll call you by your name if you call me by mine. Which by the way is Alexandrie Malfoy-Lupin." Alex sighed trying to move over to the cupcake mess, before kneeling down spraying the cleaner on the frosting before wiping at the floor, Scrubbing it.

Ellie furrowed her lil brow. "I hope I don't have to use your full name constantly. You do have a nickname of somesort, right? I was kind enough to tell you my nickname." Duh. Who uses full names anymore anyway?
Alex snorted still scrubbing, "No you didn't, your friends Amy and Maddie told me during Transfiguration Club. But nontheless it's Alex." She glanced at her still scrubbing the icky mess seriously how did this happen anyway?

Hmm. Attitude.
Ellie said, in a more polite voice than she was already speaking so the girl- Alex -wouldn't get confused, "I just did. I didn't know they told you that. Sorry." How could she know everything? Though, she did try rather hard.
Alex sighed and stopped when it seemed the ickness was gone, "I'm sorry for being so rude." Alex told her, "I'm sorry for taking the Potions Mistress' side and for being a pain in defending her when I was clearly in the wrong. She hurt those people when she had no right to and I should have tried to stop her instead of you guys." There Alex said it and ruined her pride too.

Ickle Meany Head was turning a new leaf hmm? Now there are options Ellie could have taken. She could have just yelled at her again. Which was her first choice. Though, with Hadley there, not the smartest. Then she could've just ignored her. But that wasn't in her nature at all. Like at all, at all. So she decided her third option was her best bet. That was to take her apology graciously, and try and take Pyro under her and her friends' wings and turn her into a goody(ish) girl that she actually would want to hang out with. Maybe.
So she gave Alex a smile and said, jokingly (kinda), "Too right." She gave her and eye sparkling smile then laughed.
"No worries,"as long as you agree with me, everything will be fine for you"It'll be alright." What else was she supposed to say?
Sigh. She took the broom and dustpan and swept up the cupcake crumbs and other remnants. Honestly, why were they even tied together? It didn't make this job any worse. Now if their wrists were bound together, that would be a different story. But feet? Nah, they were fine.

Grabbing the nearest blank parchment and quill on her desk she wrote it neatly on the top of the page. "There you are."
Full Name: Josephina Faith Hadley
He looked down as she wrote her name on the paper. That was getting somewhere really.
"Okay, and what's your birthday?" He had decided that he wanted to try doing her Life Path Number because it seemed to be the fastest, and he wanted to do it.
[COLOR="#6960EC"] "Relax, Ainra." Josephina said with a subtle smile, as she noted the genuine apologetic look on the young gryffindor's face. "Just when you feel yourself getting worked up, try to simply grit your teeth together and bear it. Smile and nod, then rant later in privacy or to a close confident." The Arithmancy Professor advised, for a moment before getting to the question. The reason for the girl's visit.
"Sometimes how you perceive your personality is not how others perceive it. Your personality number is, do remember, is how others perceive you upon first encounter." Fina explained patiently. "Take another look at your interpretation and try to put yourselves into the shoes of others when looking at your personality. If it still doesn't seem to really match up, then I would advise you to double-check your calculations for slight errors, which could make a big difference."
Ainra considered this. "Huh." She said, tilting her head a bit, like she did when she was thinking. "I suppose people could percieve me as what my personality number says, at first glance at least." Still, she was a bit confused. "But that wouldn't be your real personality would it? I mean people might see me as something at first but once they get to know me they'd see me as something else, and that would be your real personality wouldn't it be?"
Why was cupcake!boy just standing there?! Didn't he realize what he could have done by giving her CHEESEcake cupcakes? He should have apologized or said it wouldn't happen again, but instead he stands there . . . like a dunce.
"Well boy ... speak. I don't have all day." Technically speaking, she did, but that was beside the point.
He blinked as he looked at her. What was he supposed to say? She was the one who had freaked out. Girls, they didn't get any better the older they got, he thought to himself. They were all crazy. "Er...um..I'll go," he stand stooping to pick up the pan she had flipped out of his hand. He quickly made his way to the door.

Noting his reluctance, Josephina couldn't help herself but feel a twinge of sympathy for the boy. He remembered her?! No one remembered her! Oh how he was sweet . . . well he would have had her full and complete heart had he not added on the last bit. Evil kids? Clearly he wasn't ALL that sweet. Shame, considering he had such potential.
"Very kind of you," she said, ignoring her preformed opinions. "I am Professor Hadley, your Arithmancy Professor."Obviously.

Turning from the sweet/evil child and toward the two young girls who were cleaning up the cupcake mess, she was about to answer on how long the slytherin would be tied to the ravenclaw, when it seemed to not matter. They were getting along and worked together to get the mess cleaned up.
That was the whole point of the exercise, after all. Not to be challenging, because as the Ravenclaw girl probably figured out - judging from her expression - she didn't find it challenging at all having their feet tied together. It wasn't supposed to be though, but simply meant to get the two girls to work cohesively together.
"Good work girls, but just one thing before I untie your legs from each other," Josephina paused, looking at each of them seriously. "I want you each to give me two different and good reasons as to why working together nicely is better than arguing with your peers."

Huh? He wanted her birthday?! TRICKY Prefect! He was playing nice to simply get information about her! He didn't even need her full name if he wanted her birthday.
"Well you should have said that to begin with, Prefect Kane," Josephina shook her head. "You don't need both my birthday and full name, to simply calculate my Life Path Number." With a heavy sigh, she pulled the parchment back toward her and quilled her birthday neatly below her name.
Birthday: 2 April 2044
As she passed the parchment back to him, she gave him one of her serious looks and murmured under her breath, "You tell anyone how old I am, you will be in detention until your graduation day. Understood?"

Pulling back from the Hufflepuff Prefect, the Arithmancy professor glanced over at the Gryffindor girl. She seemed confused. "Perhaps not, but if you recall from your textbook, the personality number says specifically that - and I quote - 'it describes what others remember you after a first encounter'. Believe it or not, you can tell a lot about a person from your first encounter with them. Perhaps there is more depth to your personality than the outer image, which you learn as you get to know someone, but the basics are generally the same. And generally seen upon first meeting someone," Fina explained. She had been observing people for over twenty five years and it was EXTREMELY rare for her initial opinions about people to differ extensively.
"You actually - and possibly are not even aware of this - show a lot of your true colors without even intentionally doing so. It is these that a good observationalist will pick up upon a first encounter."

Huh!? He was leaving?! Boys were ridiculous.
"No! No!" Fina called quickly, not sure why exactly, but words just sort of came fluidly out. "You came here for a reason, whether to introduce yourself or to try and poison me with cheese cupcakes. Regardless, it was for a reason and I want you to stay. If you want to, of course?" she extended the offer, sighing, and then offered as a last resort: "Have a candy, if it entices you to do so, but stay."

Alex thought about it, "Because our fighting hurts everyone as a house because it will always end up with us losing points." Alex told the Professor looking at Ellie.
Ellie listened to Alex's answers. Well, those were quite greedy, weren't they?
"Well, working together helps you accomplish more. Nothing would get done efficiently if everyone only did their own thing. And also, you learn more about yourself as well as others when you work together. You can learn to like people you didn't think you liked, only because of a first impression." Making friends was very important.

He raised his brow at her. "I know, Professor. Why I didn't ask for your full name." He smiled at her to show that he didn't mean to say that in a bad way. He was just pointing out the truth to her.
He looked down at the date she gave him.
"But Professor, you're young still." He smiled at her. She was only 10 years older than him. Errr... At least she was younger than Bunbury?
Kate reached Professor Hadley´s office early in the morning. She wanted to ask her a very important question.
She knocked two times, slowly and softly.

Josephina nodded at the girls. "Good, good, but so you know, Alex, it isn't just about the loss of points. There are far more valuable things that can be damaged through fighting and bickering than simply points." Giving a small smile as Ellie went on, Fina then continued. "Yes. By working together, you also may find a better solution that you wouldn't have thought of individually. Everyone is happier as well.
Now, if there are no further comments, you two are both free." With a flick of her wand, she untied their legs from each other.

Poor, quivering boy. Fina's heart went out to him. "Bullies technically speaking, bring out the best in us all. They make us stronger and better people, Jake." She said solemnly. He might not see it now, but he will.
"Professors are good, but you talk to people your own age too, right?" Because that was just as important; even if she rarely did but that was because of books, not professors.

Smart-alack. Shaking her head at him when he pointed out he hadn't asked for her full name, she had to smile just a bit. He was right though, even if he was being smart with her.
"That's the point, Torin." she sighed, wondering how best to explain this to him. "Being a younger professor is somewhat more challenging because of the fact that there is less of an age difference. It makes it difficult to exercise control, for one."And two, you get young male students thinking various things about you.
Watching him work on her calculations, she nodded when he came up with seven. "Yes, my life path number is indeed seven, but, what does it mean now?" Test his brain a little.

Where in the library!? Where in the library shouldn't they go was the question; apparently this kid was not aware of Josephina's love of the library. "Oh i don't know. Let's meet by the bookshelves, I suppose?" she suggested, since in the years since she'd been at Hogwarts library, Fina was sure at least that much remained consistent.
ooc: you wanna post at the bookshelves first? =)

He was worried that she would be annoyed with him, but the fact that she smiled a little made him loosen up a bit. He didn't want her annoyed with him.
"And you do a great job, Professor." There may have been a hint of admiration in his tone. But he wasn't thinking about her as had had with Bunbury really. He just thought that she was pretty and nice. And he might have liked her a tiny bit.
Now it was time to wrack his brain and impress her with his skillz.
"Well, with a Life Path Number of 7, you will study and analyze everything because you can't take things as how they appear at the surface. You need to seek meaning in things and will spend your life exploring, and this is how you find meaning in your life. And when you're done doing this, you will share what you've learned with others. You will be wise, and people will look to you for your knowledge."
Hopefully he did good with this. He wanted her to see how smart he was at this class.
Alex nodded at the Professor leaving the room quickly she really didn't like being roped together with that girl for any length of time. She was getting out while she still could.
