“I like it,” Patroclus grinned at Mina’s quick thinking, “Let’s hop to it!”

Patroclus stirred as Mina added the ingredients, first the fluxweed leaves, then the mint, and finally the oil.
With all but the blood products and the lemonade left to go, Patroclus agreed as he stared at the flame, it was much to hot, so with his free hand he reduced the heat, so too allow the potion to cool.
“OK, now for the blood products, Why do I stir the potion quickly, no more then 7 times, while you add firstly the Bloodroot Juice, then it’s membrane and Re’em blood? We will have to move quickly as we don’t want to over stir the potion, but it still has to be moving fast as we add them!”

Patroclus placed the stirrer back into the potion, and cried “Go!” He began to whip the potion till it was a swirling twirling golden whirlpool!

Pity bezoars don't melt. She wondered just how high the fire would have to be for it to melt. Unless it was just unmeltable..like Evelyn's shoes, hehe. When the phial was moved out of the steam, she lent over and stuck the spoon inside the cauldron. Now she had to try to grab the thing, and it was no help that Evelyn had said please. With the bezoar FINALLY on the spoon, she carefully put it in the mortal that her friend had scooted closer to her. Grabbing the pestal, Destiny started to ~~pulverize~~ crush it, while Evelyn poured in the puking pastille. "Tell me when it's crushed enough, okay?"

Still holding the little phial over the cauldron so every last part of the purple puking pastille would drip into the cauldron, since there wasn't all that much to begin with, Evelyn picked her quill back up and starting writing the other steps they had taken down onto the parchment; and then copying it in her notebook as well for future reference.

Finally with all the melted candy in the mixture, she placed the phial down on the table away from the most hypnotizing and beautiful flame under the cauldron before putting her full attention onto the parchment and her writing. There, done with that one. Picking up the stirrer, she stirred the mixture around for a moment once more to incorporate all the melted candy with everything else before sadly...lowering the flame. They didn't need it that high anymore now. *tear*

Taking one more peak at the work Destiny was doing, Evelyn smirked back sitting back down on the stool. "That is good enough." Mwaha! It didn't even look like a bezoar anymore. In fact, it looked kinda disgusting. Bahaha! Hopefully it wouldn't ruin her mortar and pestle set. Or else...

"You can put it in with the other stuff, and can you stir it slightly too? Then we just need to let it simmer for a moment or so." Now, how were they going to present it? How would they make the cat eat it? Or...drink it... Then again though, Lafay was the one that was going to make sure that she picked the best one of course. Right?

But really, how would you make a cat drink a potion without shoving it down it's...throat....oh Merlin, this was a BRILLIANT IDEA that she just had! She knew how she would've gotten Poof to drink the potion. If you would call it drinking it that is...

He then looked through the list. "I'd say that 8 cups of water is probably good. If that's too much we could alway boil it out." he suggested. "And we'll only need 1 bezoar. We'll probably want a cup of the soda. And then just a tablespoon of Pepto Bismol, it is medicine after all." He said listing all the ingredient amounts he knew off the top of his head.

Mina smiled and nodded as she took in what Patroclus was saying. "Sounds perfect to me," she replied as she reached for the blood products. "I'm sure the next few steps will be done in quick sesquence and then the lemonade should be ready to add and it will be time for the true test." Glancing to the caldron and then Patroclus, she nodded as she added the bloodroot juice quickly as he stirred, followed by the membrane and finally the Re'em blood.

The potion was slightly streaming and she thought that was a good sign, the solution seemed to be cooling well and they were really in the home stretch now.

"Okay, you know it looks good now. Maybe once we add the lemonade, we stir it once clockwise and then twice counter-clockwise, allow it to cool and then strain it?" she suggested. They did need it to be pretty cool to serve it to the kneazle and she doubted the kneazle would be too happy to get a leave caught in its throat.

Reaching for the lemonade, she held it over the cauldron and tipped its contents into the cauldron on her partners count.

The Amber hue of the potion remained, as the flat soft drink was added, but the transparency changed, they could not see to the bottom, and when it would be bottle, the would be able to see right through it.

Mina had to laugh as she heard the suggestion. It was catchy wasn't it. "You know, I kind of like it," she smiled as she added the last touches to their notes. Peeking at the cauldron, she reached for the strainer and set it beside it. Only a few more moments and it would be time to bottle it and they would be down.

Oh YES!

They were almost done with their potion and Destiny couldn't be happier. Well, she could be if she could get the chocolate out of her bag. Unfortunately it would still have to wait, since it was time to pour the crushed bezoar into the cauldron. Placing the pestal down, she lifted the mortal and, resisting the urge to sniff the stuff, she tipped the contents inside the cauldron. "Hey Evelyn? You know what would suck? If the potion blew up." Something like that was expected right? They were a bunch of potion apprentices, and they did just throw random stuff in a cauldron.

Hopefully no one used erumpent fluid.

Tapping the mortal on it's side, Destiny made sure all the bezoar was now in the cauldron. She was supposed to put the whole thing in, right? Oops, she should have asked, but it was too late now.

Could she stir!? Pshaw. "Of course I can stir." She was getting good at this kind of stuff. Picking up the stirrer, she placed it inside the cauldron and started to stiiiiiiir. After a few clockwise turns, she removed the stirrer and placed it on the table, allowing the potion to simmer, "After it simmers, we should let it cool to add the milk. Maybe we could speed up the cooling process, so we can get out of here faster."

And then she could eat her chocolate.

They could run to the kitchens really quick but...nah.

Perhaps she knew a way they could do this. "So, i thought of something, which would be perfect...what with needing to cool down the potion and such." Hmm, did Destiny know what she was getting at here? "So, perhaps we can freeze the potion and make it into ice cubes." It's not like there was a lot in there. "Except, i don't know...how to do that..."

At least Evelyn agreed that their potion exploding would suck. Not only would they be covered in a grass, mint and bezoar mixture, they would have to re-do their whole potion, and time was a-ticking. "I wonder what our potion would do if it got on us." Destiny didn't want to be turned into another animal. Once a term is enough for her.

Poof licks ice cubes. And Evelyn thought Sly was weird for eating grass and shoelaces. At least he doesn't go around licking ice cubes. "Well, if Poof likes to lick ice, I guess all cats would." She would have to try to get Sly to lick one..see if his tongue will get stuck to it. That would be HILARIOUS! But, before she tried it out, they needed to make ice. "There is that frigus charm. An icy wind could be used to freeze the potion until it turns into ice." And she knew how to use that charm..

Only they weren't going to freeze the cauldron, were they? That was going to be a really big potion cube and Merlin knows how hard it would be to get it out. It'd be STUCK! "We could pour some of the potion on a spoon, then freeze it that way. Or.." She just had a BRILLIANT idea! Not only would she be able to eat her chocolate NOW, she'd also be able to make the potion cubes.

Picking her bag off the floor, she set it on the table and pulled out her box of chocolates. Opening the lid, she pointed to the hole where the chocolate sat, "Look! We can pour the potion in these holes, and then freeze the tray!"

She had to eat the chocolate first, of course.

It wasn't like there were a lot left.

Smiling, and just about to say something, Evelyn closed her mouth when Destiny started to name off things they could use to help make the ice cubes when...oh...my...Merlin...

Staring at the box of chocolates, Evelyn raised a brow with her mouth hanging open slightly before looking at Destiny in amazement. Where in the world did she get these? And WHY was it in her bag!? OR more importantly...why weren't any of them eaten yet? Perhaps she just got it. She hadn't seen Destiny put a box in her bag this morning while they were in the dormitory...

Taking quick glances from the box to Destiny, and back to the box again, Evelyn hastily grabbed it and then dumped the chocolates on the counter in front of her before scooting them to the side AWAY from her friend with her arm. No way was she eating these. Holding her other arm out to block her friend, Evelyn held the box in her hand almost like a weapon. "I just dare you to try to get these back..."

She was not going to have a hyper crazy partner for the rest of the final. They still had a little more to do. Speaking of boxes though, they really need to clean this one. There was little chocolate pieces in it, and she was not going to be giving chocolate to the cat.

"Good idea though, with the box." It was perfect!

PFFFT! Rolling her eyes, Evelyn stared at her friend for a moment longer, watching her clean out the box tray thing before picking up her arm away from the chocolate. Ewwwww! Chocolate stains on her sweater! DANGIT! Now she was going to smell like chocolate for the rest of the day. Talk about gag.

Not extremely happy about her now ruined sweater, even though it was for a good cause, the Slytherin stood up once more to peak inside the cauldron. It seemed good enough. "Yea, we can put out the fire." Which, was going to be hard. Just look at that flame! It was like saying, 'Nuuu! Don't put me out! I'm too pretty to be put out! I have a family. Yea, see those flames around you? My family!'

Shaking her head at her silly fire inner monologue, Evelyn sat back down and before poking the box. "So, frigus you said..right? Creates a chilly wind." Yup, she remembered that. Gold had taught her that spell. Hehe.

Yea, see those flames around you? My family!'

Shaking her head at her silly fire inner monologue, Evelyn sat back down and before poking the box. "So, frigus you said..right? Creates a chilly wind." Yup, she remembered that. Gold had taught her that spell. Hehe.

It didn't seem like Evelyn was going to shut off the flame anytime soon. Pfft, figures. Destiny's friend would rather watch the flame flicker than finish this potion. Leaning up, she eyed the chocolate for a second before turning the flame off and sitting back in her seat. She wondered if she could slowly walk over there and flog a piece without Evelyn noticing..

Destiny was a spy afterall.

Nah, she didn't need that chocolate anyway. She still had a few boxes left in the dorm, and she didn't need Lafay to get all crazy because she was on a chocolate rush. "Yeah. You can just point your wand at the cauldron until it cools, then we add the milk and pour it in the tray..that you just poked." Why did she poke it, Destiny didn't know. Evelyn must have had her reasons, though. "You make the wind, I'll pour the milk. A few teaspoons should be enough, right?"

They didn't want to upset the cat's stomach more by putting too much milk.

Resisting the urge to turn the flame back on, Evelyn sat quite still to keep herself from twitching her hand towards her wand. Don't want to get into a fire hazard! Eep! Even though, it would be pretty. Just as long as she didn't get burned...

Point the wand? "Isn't there a flick or something in that wand movement?" She was sure of it! At least, that's what Gold did...and she did since she did the spell too. Unless, it was just pointing the wand at the cauldron. Meh, whatever. She'll find out in a moment. "Yea a few teaspoons is good. Two or three." she said, picking her wand back up.

She nodded her head as her friend said to add two or three teaspoons of milk and she grabbed the measuring spoons to measure it out. She'd be ready for when the potion was cool.

As the spell was cast, Destiny waited a few minutes before pouring the milk off the spoons and into to cauldron. "Now we should stir it." she said and replaced the measuring spoons in her hand with the stirring rod, placing it inside the cauldron. Giving the potion a few more clockwise stirs, she removed the rod and lent up a little in her seat, "There! Now we can pour this into the tray and be almost finished!"

About time too. This potion was taking FOREVER!

Watching the milk be measured and poured into the mixture, the Slytherin was actually starting to get a little tired keeping up this spell. Almost done, yes?

Stopping the spell when Destiny started stirring the potion, or more like some kind of juice freeze by now, Evelyn stood up and stretched before glancing at the empty chocolate box...and then at the chocolates. Good, they were still there. Didn't want to know that her friend somehow managed to get one under her watchful eye. Hehe.

"Thank Merlin." she mumbled, taking a spoon and handing another to Destiny. Pausing though, Evelyn looked into the mixture before grimacing. There was no way the cat was going to eat that. Drink it maybe, but not EAT it. "Perhaps...we should strain this first into something else?" Another bowl or phial. There wasn't all that much there since it was for a cat, but still... it looked really gross. Purplish, green, watery mixture. And whatever grey swirls that were coming from the bezoar pieces.

Now to just, find a strainer and another phial or something. THEN they could almost be done!

The way it was handed to her, made her think Evelyn wanted her to taste it. There was no way that was going to happen. She didn't even have a stomach ache! Taking the spoon anyway, she simply stared at it before her friend spoke up about straining the stuff. It was going to take too long to find a strainer and stuff..and Destiny's eye was starting to twitch from the chocolate..just sitting there..waiting to be eaten..

"We don't need to strain it into anything but the tray. It'll be faster and definitely less work when we have to clean up." she said, then placing the spoon down, walked to the back of the room to fetch a strainer. Finding on in one of the ~~million of~~ cabinets, she made it back to their table and placed it on top of the tray they were going to pour the potion into. "You can levitate the cauldron, while I hold the stainer still."

"Good idea." she said with a small smile before lifting her wand once more. Levitating the cauldron with a simple swish and flick, and of course...the magic words *snicker*... Evelyn moved the cauldron over the clean chocolate tray before pausing.

Shaking her head slightly to rid of the ridiculous thought, Evelyn used her other hand to gently tip the cauldron over and let the contents pour slowly out and into the strainer. So far so good. "Don't twitch your hand so much.."

Juuuust in case she did twitch her hand. Since she SWORE she saw her friend's eye twitch moments before.

It's not my hand that is twitching." she mumbled before she placed her other hand on top of the one already holding the strainer, juuust in case that started twitching, too. As the tray filled up, Destiny moved the strainer up and down the length of it, so each hole would be filled. The more potion cubes they make, the bigger chance of the cat feeling better..or so she hoped. "Alright." she said when the tray was full, "You want to cast that spell again, and start freezing this stuff?"

Moving the cauldron along with the strainer when Destiny moved it to fill all the holes in the tray, Evelyn tipped it back up when the tray was full and set it back down above the burner on the stand. Smiling at the sight of the full tray, and with her heart beat racing slightly with nerves and excitement that they were finally almost done, the Slytherin nodded before a small smirk replaced that smile. "Depends...if your hands weren't so twitchy, perhaps you could help out."

Bahahaha! Would Destiny take that seriously? Of course her hands weren't twitching. Yet...

"Frigus." she said with a light flick of the wand before pointing it at the tray. Hehe. Almost done! Just needed to get these things to freeeeeeeze!

It wouldn't do much good to just have it floating around in there.

"I'm thinking we will need at least 1 handful of knott grass, and we should probably chop it up real fine." she said. "We should probably use at leasst 3 bloodroot stems." Gotta make sure the kneazle is nice and calm here. "Oh and he is really gonna need to get his strength back so I'm thinking 3 drops of Re'em blood." No more than that, don't want him too strong, he might knock Lafay over. Hmm, maybe they should use ten drops.

"How much mint you think we should add?" Once they had that figured out then they would be able to start the brewing process. Right after they set up their work station and gathered the ingredients that is.

Destiny's hands were NOT twitching and she didn't know why Evelyn kept saying it. Scoffing, she emptied the little bit of clumpy stuff that fell into the strainer back into the cauldron. With all the clumps together, it would be easier to vanish..which she was going to do right away. As the tray of potion was being cooled by Evelyn, Destiny picked her own wand from the table and Evanescoed the contents. "The cauldron is clean." she announced before moving on to clean up the rest of their workstation.

By the time she was finished, the potion should be frozen, right? Hopefully.

"I would take the potion cubes out of the tray, but my 'twitchy hands' might mess it up. I'll leave that for you to do."

Plus she was busy..throwing away her melted chocolate.

Coolness. They were getting closer and closer to being done! Clean cauldron, semi-clean station, and Destiny was cleaning up that chocolate. She better be throwing it away...it was all melt-y anyways.

Sighing, she continued to point her wand at the tray, making sure to keep the spell up while also making sure that she was freezing all the ice cubes instead of just the center ones. Tough work! After awhile though, she stopped the spell to check on the ice cubes. They seemed good enough, though she could tell that there was still some of the drink/potion stuff at the bottom that wasn't frozen.

Putting the spell back up, Evelyn glanced around for a moment, looking for...something. "What are we supposed to put these on?" she asked, not thinking about this part. They had to make it presentable! Wait, no. That was food they did that with, and this was not food. But...well, the potion thing was actually looking somewhat pretty now that it was frozen and without all the disgusting clumps of stuff that Destiny supposedly vanished.

"Should we just keep it in this chocolate tray thing?"

If the chocolate wasn't melted, Destiny would have shoved them in her pocket and ate them later. She really didn't need chocolate stains on her school robes and her parents would not be pleased if she ruined another set. Finished with the rest of the cleaning, she turned to Evelyn to see how their potion cube creation was coming. They looked kinda pretty considering what they were made out of. "Just leave them in the tray. If we try and move them, they will melt faster and our potion cubes will just be a potion again."

Then all the extra steps they took would be a complete waste of time. "I think we are FINALLY done, Evelyn!"
