Standing in the hallway of the train, Cadence tugged and tugged and tugged at her heavy trunk trying to get it into a compartment so she could go find her boyfriend. Looking around for a moment, she wondered where he could possibly be... because she could definitely use his help with this trunk. And she wanted to give him a really big, gigantic, HUUUUUGE hug!
Jude stepped onto the train, not having to say goodbye to his father because, well he wasn't at home he left Queen's Gate that morning.
His blue/grey eyes glanced up and down the hall looking for Cadence, his girl friend who he hadn't been able to see since she had been caught with him by her gymnastics coach. The boy had been incredibly depressed staying at home by himself thinking about her until they would be reunited on the train.
Finally, caught sight of her brunette mop of hair and he headed over to see if she needed help with her trunk.
"Hey there stranger, looks like you need help getting into your compartment." he spoke grinning at the girl.

Ellie took a deep, subtle, breath. She was beginning to warm up to the situation and began thinking of ways these people might take to her. After all, she was trying to be friendly with all houses, and students of all ages.
She smiled, "Yeah, first year. What year are you all in?" she asked kindly.
Kylie's heart warmed up a little bit, she was glad the girl didn't hate her. She smiled again, "Third. And I don't believe I properly introduced myself. I'm Kylie. Hufflepuff."
Quote:
However, Evelyn changed her gaze back over to Kylie, giving her another LOOK. The Hufflepuff's tone told her everything. She didn't want to have to drag her friend out to give her a talk on manners. Plus, they might actually be getting somewhere with these firsties. Well, at least the one that she knew the most about anyways, Victoria.
Kylie laughed a little to herself. She was supposed to be the nice one here. Well, at least she was being blatantly honest.
Quote:
Victoria refrained from shooting her own sarcastic comment back at Kylie. It wouldn't do well to make her any more angry than she already was. Something told her that this girl had a lot more skill than it seemed. So she simply ignored the Hufflepuff and began rattling off some of the more advanced spells she knew. "Accio, Augamenti, Aparecium, Jelly-Legs Jinx. Those are just a few." She could've continued, but didn't. Instead, she turned to Ellie. "Oh, a first year? I am as well," the dark haired girl said simply before falling silent once more. It seemed to be her turn to get questioned by Evelyn now.
Taking Evelyn's look into consideration, Kylie totally and completely shook off her harsh exterior. She pretended the girl was one of her brother's girlfriends. She hadn't liked them at first, but had to be nice to them until she did. She still didn't like how the girl was flaunting her talent, but she sucked it up. "Wow! That's really impressive." She said with an appreciative tone. She was faking, but there was absolutely no way the girl or anyone else could tell. It was flawless acting.

Hiding in a box? Like literally? "Where was this box at, cause if I knew you were in one, I would have visited you." Of course Destiny would have visited her friend! Did those Huffies kick her out of the dorm or something? That would be the only reason she could think of that would make her live in a box.
Eeek! Scary kitty! Yes, it was just the CUTEST thing ever, besides Sly, but it was scary. Destiny swore it had blue eyes when she first walked into the compartment, but now it's eyes were black. Black like..Evelyn's were last term. *shiver* Destiny never did ask her why they were like that, and she had decided she didn't want to know. Scary. "I think so too." she said cradling her own cat closer to herself. "It looks like it wants to eat my Sly."
And well, he probably tasted like grass.
Kylie laughed out loud. Hard. Of course she hadn't literally been hiding in a box. That was totally a very Destiny thing to say.
"No, not literally, silly! I was just very devoted to my studies. I was interested by a few of the subjects and did some of my own independent work on them..."
If that firstie could try to be impressive, she could too. "I visited a few countries for research and stuff, it was really quite exciting."
She'd done that mainly over the summer with her brother, but oh well. The girl, Victoria, was being so snooty.

Slater found an empty compartment and slid in quickly, shutting the door behind him. He sat with his right side to the window of the train so that if someone else came in, they couldn't immediately see the scarred side of his face. Still, he felt a bit lonely. All he could do was hope that Blake or Drew would pop by and say hello.

Seeing it was Jude, she let out a little shriek of excitement and immediately threw her arms around his neck in a hug. "Jude! I'm so glad you found me! I've missed you so much!" Cadence just looked into his eyes for a few moments, beaming, and then looked down at her trunk. "Yes, I could use some help, actually," she said with one of her cute little giggles.

"I missed you too Cade." he murmured in her ear before looking over to the large trunk that was acting as an obstruction to the pair getting into a compartment. He put down his own bag and with both hands, lifted the trunk up and started to push it into the compartment.

Destiny relaxed a little when the demon kitty was placed in it's cage. "It's evil!" she said, and then giving a cat-like hiss of her own, she stuck her tongue out at the little white demon kitty. Not liking Sly!? That was preposterous! Everyone liked Sly. "Well, Sly doesn't like her." And that meant he would not be teaching her how to eat grass. "Ellie and Victoria." she nodded in their direction, not knowing who was who. She would learn later on, especially if they were going to be 'hanging' around each other.
"So, ugh..do you know what house you want to be in?" she asked the two first years. Hopefully Slytherin, cause they needed to win the housecup!
Oi...
Her friend was weird. Definitely. Pssh, LIES! Sly was Totally eating grass! Unless, he was naturally that big. Than, yea. Big kitty.
"She...isn't evil." she said, looking back up to Destiny. "She just likes smart company." Bahaha! No one insulted her kitty! Her, adorable and cute kitty. Whaaa! "How can Sly not like her? How do you even know? He isn't...doing anything..." Yup, Sly was a smart one.

Ew. The girl wanted to be a Gryffindork or a walking zombie. Interesting choices, Evelyn had to admit, but not the ones she wanted to hear. Hmm, perhaps though if she was a Gryffindor, she could watch Rex for her. Any good gossip that could be used against him...but of course. She had to get on this girl's good side first. Instead, she decided to just not comment at all on her choice of houses, because nothing good would come of it.
Turning her attention back to Victoria instead, Evelyn nodded and thought over the information. Hmm, she seemed to be at where Evelyn was at in first year, which was nice, and bad at the same time. The third year Slytherin didn't need anymore competition, and she was already having enough as it was against Kylie.
"Well, you'll be learning a lot more than augamenti at school, thank Merlin." she smirked, deciding to just play this nice. Like she decided from the beginning. Giggling slightly, she smiled and looked to her kitten who's little nose was sticking out through the little carrier. How cute was THAT?!
Victoria managed not to wrinkle her nose at Ellie's house choices. Ravenclaw was fine...but she didn't much like Gryffindors. She hadn't met a nice one yet. "I hope to be in Slytherin," she answered Destiny. She caught Kylie's reply, and actually managed to somewhat believe she actually found it impressive. But then she started talking about her own studies... She couldn't deny the fact it was much better than her's. The girl's eyebrows raised in genuine curiosity. "Oh really? Cela was wearing the robes she'd got from Malkins of course, having had changed into her uniform as soon as she'd boarded the train. The lining was a deep blue with bronze stitching, very appropriately Ravenclaw and tailored to be flattering of course.
She could move with the train now, not having to worry about falling over or being knocked about by the motion of it.
The rounds first and then the fun part; prefects meeting. It wasn't like Celandine had to run off to see her friends this term, Daphne wasn't back, most of them had graduated, she wasn't even sure what Garret was doing these days and Raiden would be in the prefects compartment anyway.
Expression thoughtful she moved through the train, peeking into compartments to check on things and smiling cheerfully at the occupants.

Pureblood. There it was. Ellie had suspected she was being asked her blood type. Well, two could play that game. And a Slytherin. This didn't surprise Ellie, though she felt slightly bad for judging based on stereotypes and stories.
"Well, I live in Bristol with my mother, father, and brother. I'm pureblood. My father has taught me loads before I came. He wanted to make sure I was ahead so I would be prepared in any situation." She didn't exactly know what point she was making, but she was definitely challenging Evelyn. A third year? So what. Ellie knew her place, but apparently this girl didn't. Third year was not impressive in her book.
Jude wrapped his arms around her girlfriend and smiled when she said that she missed him.

Cadence giggled slightly as he whispered in her ear, and then she moves out of the way as he goes for her trunk, picking up his bag. As he picks it up, Cadence tries to tell him not to lift it, but it was too late, and then she just laughed at his reaction. "Shoes," she said, as a bit of a joke. It was true, there was a fair number of shoes in there, but what was really making it heavy were all the books she had in it. Once they got the trunk into a compartment, Cadence dropped his bag into a seat on one side of the compartment, tucked Arya's cage in the corner, slid the door closed, and sat down. "So, here we are! I'm so glad I'm going to be away from Coach for a whole term!" she said, smiling brightly at him.

Destiny didn't know what was so great about either of those houses. Sure Gryffindor's are brave and Ravenclaw's are smart, but why be only one of those things? Slytherin's, well, they were the whole package. "Oh.." she said trying her hardest to sound somewhat interested in those choices. "Well, don't think just because your parents were in one of those houses you'll be automatically placed there."
Obviously. Coming form a long line of Ravvies, Destiny thought that. Look where she ended..

Something that Destiny said made Kylie laugh, and she thought it was because of Evelyn's kitten wanting to eat Sly. Wrong. She was laughing because Destiny thought she was living in an actual box. "Ahh, I see." Destiny really needed to learn more of these muggle terms. The muggle box never said that before. "You mean you left school to visit these countries?" And she didn't tell Destiny or Evelyn of these?
Humph.

She isn't evil. Yeah right. Look at those beady black eyes staring a hole right through Sly. "Smart company? What is that supposed to mean? Sly is very smart, thank you very much." No he wasn't, but Destiny could hope in the future he would get just a tad bit smarter. "How could she not like Sly? He is cute!" And for that reason everyone should LOVE him. "He is doing something. Oh no Destiny could like this girl. That is if the girl got her wish and ended up in Slytherin. "Good choice." she said nodding her head. "We, meaning me and Evelyn, are in Slytherin." And because they were so awesome, everyone should want to be in the same house as them.

Thank goodness, the girl was starting to be civil as she was. "It really wasn't a big deal." It wasn't, she'd gone with her muggle brother who'd been given special permission to be around magic. And SHE'D been given special permission to use it. Just like she had every summer, as her grandmother was a little off her hinge.
"Italy, France, Spain.. just a few European countries. Studied various wand work, magic techniques, creatures, whatever I could really. I'm a bit of a book worm."

Kylie wasn't feeling this whole interrogation challenging thing anymore. She was a half-blood. It wasn't a big deal. She lived in the country just outside of London with her MUGGLE parents and MUGGLE brother. Maybe she should say it...
"Well, everyone here is just so fancy!" She tried to get the girl to understand that fighting with Evelyn wouldn't get her to like her. Evelyn liked KYLIE and she was who she was. "I mean, I'm just a half-blood with muggle parents and a muggle brother living near the countryside just outside of London. Lived in France for six years before that." She knew the little girl with the V name.. Veronica, was it? Would just eat that up, but whatever. Kylie knew she could whip that girl into shape if need be. Even her friends didn't really mess with her anymore.
Although, Kylie's eyes were their normal emerald, jewel-like, green. So, things must've been okay.

Kylie wanted to keep the facade up, she'd only gone to these places during holiday's. She'd never actually missed school. Or, at least, much of it. "Yeah, that's why I missed so much." It was a decent enough excuse. She really had missed a lot of school last year, and she'd re-explain to Destiny and Evelyn later.

Jude arched his brow as she answered with the fact that she had so many shoes in there. Shaking his head, he never understood why girls needed to have a bajillion pairs of shoes to begin with.
He sighed in relief, sitting down on the side where his bag was and looking over to her.
"I'm glad too darling. Means I won't be told off for being with you any longer." Jude said with a small smile. It had been hard to hear that he wasn't allowed to see her until the term started.
Cedric was really in search of a compartment to occupy but there were no vacant compartments as it seemed. Sweat thoroughly trickled down his face, his trunk was causing such a pain; it was just so heavy and all. Cedric kept searching for a compartment while simultaneously peering at each compartment in order to find his friend whom he hadn't seen in a while. Finally, he had found an empty compartment where he could place his fully-loaded trunks and all. He slid in hastily, now he could eat chocolates and relax while anxiously waiting till they reach their school.
Victoria nodded as Kylie rattled off the places she'd visited. She herself had gone to France once, but not for any studying purposes. Merely for a vacation. But the subjects seemed to be quite advanced ones, and she was surprised that a third year was studying those sorts of things. It was something she'd expect of a sixth or seventh year. "Wow. That's really amazing," she commented.
But...oh dear Merlin. Had she just said she lived with Muggles? Victoria barely managed to keep her face from falling into a smirk. She was positive such would anger the Hufflepuff again, and after hearing about her recent adventures, she wasn't so sure she wanted to do that. She didn't think of it as fear for the older girl; more like knowing when to keep her mouth shut. So to avoid the temptation of a sarcastic comment, Victoria turned to Destiny once more. "My whole family's been in Slytherin for ages, though I suppose there's always the chance I might get sorted elsewhere. Doubtful, though."
Jude arched his brow as she answered with the fact that she had so many shoes in there. Shaking his head, he never understood why girls needed to have a bajillion pairs of shoes to begin with.

Cadence smiled across the compartment at him, so excited to just be able to look at him and see him smiling at her. Looking around the compartment, though, she noticed something that was missing. "Jude, where's your trunk?" she asked with a laugh. Had he not brought one? Where was all of his things? Cadence shivered slightly and went over to her trunk, popping it up and taking Jude's jacket that he had given her all those weeks ago off the top and putting it on. Sitting back down across from him, she looked into his eyes and felt foolish because she simply could not stop smiling. It was silly, she knew, but she was so completely smitten with Jude, and it had been so far to stay away from him for so many days.

Evelyn, not only was paying attention to Ellie, but was listening to everyone else too. Victoria wanted to be a Slytherin? She was starting to like this girl more and more! Now Slytherin was a house! Not these Gryffindorks and Ravie zombies that walked the halls of Hogwarts. Smiling at Victoria, she waited a few more minutes, still listening to everyone else before turning her attention back to Ellie.
Something about this girl changed. Evelyn couldn't quite put her finger on it, but it was there, and she didn't like it. Listening to her speak, Evelyn couldn't help but think that...this was almost like her! Parents, brother, father making her be the best...pureblood. Too much like her in fact. Meh! "What is Bristol like?" she asked, her own smile faltering at every passing second, but she fought to keep it up.
She was supposed to be being nice! And...she got a challenge returned to her instead...hehe. That wasn't the path to go down with her.
SPOILER!!: Destiny and Kylie

He is resting in my hands."
In your face!
Hmm.
Humph.

"He eats grass." she giggled as she pointed this out, looking at Sly. Whether he ate grass now or not, she was going to be checking his mouth every night to see if it was green!
"Okay, okay. I'm just kidding. I don't know why she doesn't like Sly." she smiled again, looking over at her little cute kitty. Teehee!! "Maybe she just doesn't like boy cats."
Of course though, like earlier, she had been listening to everyone's conversation, and what she heard was something that shocked her...for the fourth time during the train ride. Not only did Kylie now practically know more than her knowledge wise, she had left school too without her even knowing? Or telling her? "Wait, you left school?" she asked Kylie, frowning as she sat up and sat properly on the seat, back straight, feet crossed and all. Perhaps she misunderstood what was said. "I thought you said you were just studying." Which, Evelyn thought meant she was just in her dormitory a lot.

Kylie saw the slight smirk on Victoria's face. She was only slightly disgusted. She'd learned that even the MOST blood-oriented people could learn to respect and even friend half bloods. Her grandmother had been the witch and it had somehow missed her mother's generation, as well as her older brother. She had been the first one to catch the gene again. Very interesting how magic flowed through the blood. She may not be MUCH older than the girl, but she certainly understood the concept of respect. She respected most everyone, and she expected the same, however unfairly, out of others. Kylie wanted to comment on it, but decided as the girl grew, she'd understand, and kept her mouth shut.

Kylie couldn't say anything out loud against what she'd already said, so she figured it was time to play a few tricks. "Yeah, I mean with family and such. Never by myself."
She put on an aloof face and sighed, looking out the window. While doing this, she reached out to Evelyn's mind... hopefully she'd hear her... I never left the school except for during holidays and with special permission a couple times. I feel like these girls are trying to one up each other--and one up us... so I'm trying to keep them down.
She continued looking out the window for some time after before turning back to the girls, making the whole quiet spell seem very natural.
Avery was ready for this! Her second year at Hogwarts was bound to be more fun and exciting than her first. She had made a lot of friends...even found a crush (but she hadn't told him yet) and was ready for a whole new adventure. Avery made her way through the train looking for a friends or an empty compartment to sit at. When Avery got to the middle she found Cady. "Cady!!" Avery ran and gave her a hug, she had missed her best friend.

Though Ellie was very intent to challenge this... pitiful... girl. She wanted to make friends really. So she softened up a bit.
She was a bit taken aback by this question, though. She expected something more of the criticizing nature, but she answered happily, "Oh, it's wonderful. There's country that's truly beautiful. Then the city life is amazing as well. There's so much to do. Of all my travels, it's one of my favorite places. Even if it wasn't home."

Humph, humph, humph.
Kylie was out travelling around the word when Destiny AND Evelyn were both stuck in school. Not that Destiny herself minded being in school, it was just she would rather be travelling. And by travelling, she meant not on a broom with a crazy grandmother who crashed into trees.
Boy, was that a story to tell. "You're lucky."

At least the girl knew there was a chance of being sorted into a different house, unlike Destiny when she started. She had SWORE she was going to be a rabid ravvie, and it didn't help that her parents were putting it into her head as well. "Well, we will find out in a little it, won't we?" she smiled and nodded her head. "The hat stinks though, so hold your nose when it is put on your head."
Destiny smelled that hat for a week after sorting. Gross.

Oh no.
Destiny did not like how this Ellie girl was talking to Evelyn. The girl would learn that messing with Evelyn meant messing with Destiny as well. And we couldn't forget Marie..wherever that Slytherin had gotten herself.
She would keep an eye on that one, that was for sure.
"So what if he eats grass? He is allowed and it helped him grow big and strong." Grass was like milk..minus the calcium milk supplied..unless grass did have calcium..
There had to be a reason for the demon kitty to dislike cats, and Destiny doubted it was because he was a male. Female and males are supposed to get along. Her grandmom's cats all got along, so she figured it the same for ALL cats. "Perhaps she is jealous because Sly has a name. A good name too." She figured the kitten didn't have a name, or Evelyn would have mentioned it already. "Or because he is so CUTE!"
Ha! Destiny wasn't the only one that was upset by the fact that Kylie had left school and had not told them. "Pffft, I thought she was in a box." she mumbled.
Destiny would have preferred if the Hufflepuff was in a box.

With family and such, but never by herself. Was that it? That was all she was going to say? Frowning, Evelyn stared at the Hufflepuff for a moment or so as she looked out the window.
Perhaps, she didn't want to talk about it? This surely confused Evelyn, but maybe it had something to do with the others in the room. The Slytherin definitely wouldn't want to say anything private with unfamiliar listeners next to her. That would be like saying a professor was horrible with them standing right there. Later though, she would ask again. There was too much going on at the moment, and too many people here.
Too many!! She was slowly losing her personal space bubble too. That was not acceptable.

Waaaiiit..."Forgive me," she started, smiling a little more now that the tension in the air seemed to give way some. "But I may have misunderstood. You said you live in Bristol, but it's one of your favorite traveling places even if it isn't home. You live in Bristol, and you travel there? That doesn't make sense to me." This whole girl didn't make sense to her! First she was challenging her, and now she was talking funny. Eh!

"So he has been eating grass?" she asked, victory juuust in her reach as she stared expectantly at Destiny. Hehe.
Hmm, perhaps Destiny was right. Looking back through the little opening of the carrier to look at her kitty, who she noticed that her eyes were finally back to blue, Evelyn thought over a few names that would be good for her. But nothing really screamed, unique and don't mess with me, or that she was the best. "I'll think of one later." she mumbled, glancing over back at Destiny with a look that said she really would think of one later.
For now, she had to use all her brain power to keep up with everyone. Kylie left school without practically anyone knowing, Ellie was confusing the heck out of her, Victoria was...well she was her, and Destiny was making her think of names! Too much. Again. "Wait, why would you think she was in a box?"

Doing it was a little bit of pain yet Joshua Carter was never going to give up his exeggeratedly cheerfull state. So, he simply grinned at everyone he saw in the corridors as he walked, pulling his trunk and owl cage in one hand, to find a suitable compartment to himself. And that suitable compartment could be suitable if two certain Slytherin girls were occupying it.
Yet, though he looked around a couple of times and opened the doors of some compartments, he failed to find there girls. Oh so bad. Where were the girls?
