Amy pushed open the porttrait and steped inside the common room, ohmi she gasped as she stared at the room, the books, the fire, the comfy sofas. She walked around taking in every single sight, once she had gone round the room, she went to sit down, until she noticed the massive staircase in the corner of the room, the dorms! Amy smiled, the one thing she wanted to do more than magic, was sleep in a dorm. She stood up and bounced up the stairs, her robes trailing

"Exchange student? It seems like Hogwarts get's alot of those." Avery smiled at the girl, we at least she wasn't a fifth or sixth year. It ment that they could at least get to be pretty close friends. "I'm doing really good, looking for some kind of adventure though! I'm always up for a challenge" Avery knew she shouldn't get into trouble, she had promised Cady that she wouldn't, but what's life with out any fun!

Karly nodded "Yes I guess they do, I think I exchanged places with a girl called Angelica Bronton someone told me she was a hufflepuff too" Now she thought about it that seems rather weird that she ended up in the same house as the girl she was replacing. "I like a challenge too, which is why I am looking forward to class....Hey I know may we could be get some others together once classes start and make a study group or something" Karly gave one of her trademark smiles, she really hoped she did not sound too much of a nerd

Wasn't it amazing how so much food and chat could make you sleepy? At least that's what Sarah was thinking as she dragged herself into the common room after the feast.Well that and 'My Merlin, that sofa looks comfy'.So that is where she headed, the lovely sofa near the fire.With a quick glance around first, she spotted several people chatting in the firelight.Giving them a broad, but weary smile, and a quick "Evening everyone," as she crossed the room, Sarah finally fell face first onto the sofa.

"Hmmm, niceeeee."

Melissa streched her arms as she walked into the common room. Nicee! She looked around the room, yellow, yellow everywhere! She spotted Sarah, who looked like she just come in. "Hey Sarah," she spoke smiling slightly and plopping down on a chair, a comfy chair. Yeah she was a bit tired.

Karly laughed as an older student with a shiny Prefect badge entered and collapsed on the sofa "Evening sweetie, tough day?" she asked cocking her head to the side to once again laugh at the sprawled out Prefect

Amy walked down the stairs and walked over to the bookshelf, she pulled out a book called hex or not to hex, by Walliam Dancegun and walked over to the sofa, she fell into it. Just as she was about to read she noticed someone else fall into the sofa, she looked up Lissa! how are you? she asked setting aside the book and curling up into the armchair, feeling the heat of the fire on her body

Looking back over the sofa, Kay saw someone new. "Hi, come on over a sit. Relax a little. Once Classes start we will be very busy." Kay said smiling. "My names Kay by the way. How are you?" She said hoping that she was going to make a new friend.

Hear Sarah, Kay turned and waved at her friend. "Hi, Sara. How was your summer?" She asked watching Sarah. She really looked tired.

Lissa laughed slightly, noticed by Amy, whom she just saw put didn't say a word. She grinned at Amy though when she did. "Hey Amy, good I saw something earlier. Duelling Club, I might just join too. How about you? Anything new?" she asked, leaned backwards into the chair, the amazing yellow comfy chair!

Hey, yeah, I signed up, you should, and Jay. Maddie's put her name down, we should all do it. Amy smiled, and umm well not really Ohmigod, have you seen the dorms yet? Amy asked hoping she would be in the same dorm as Lissa

She heard her name.And then someone else said 'sweetie'...we're they talking to her too? Raising her head off the sofa, Sarah turned it to the side and plonked it back down again.Now she was facing the right way, she could see what was going on.

Ahhhh, it was Melissa who'd first spoken to her! Smiling back to the girl in the chair, she wiggled her fingers in a sorta wave. "Hey Melissa." Before turning a little more to spot another person, the one who must have called her sweetie, as she was looking at her funny and giggling. "Haiii," another wiggle of the fingers "yeahh, little bit.Long as well..." VERY long... "I'm Sarah, by the way.You guys liking the common room?" 'Cause she was assuming this other girl was new.Sarah had never seen her before anyway.

OH, Kay!

Hearing the familiar voice of the girl, Sarah swivelled her eyes in her direction.She was feeling too lazy to move her whole head again. "Heya, Kay.Oh it was good, thanks.First couple of weeks were spent in bed resting my back, you know.But then I got to go to the beach with Wesley, and shopping in DA with Miranda and that...how about you?"

"Cool, yeah I will. It will be a chance to learn more complicated spells. Maddie? Cool," Lissa said relaxed and calm. "Ah, there will be something new, with us there is always something new! NO, I haven't. Have you?" she was guessing yes, Amy did ask her after all. Hmm, dorms. That was something she wanted to see before she actually fell on her bed.

Yess, they are so cool and spacious and stuff, Amy said, come on. She gestured to the stairs and ran up them

OOC-Lissa doesn't have to follow, Amy will come back if Lissa can't be bovered

"Hey Sarah, Im Karly. Yeah common room is good, comfier then my last one at Beauxbatons" She gave a chuckle and sunk further into her chair. "Sarah I was just thinking, Do you reckon if we asked our head of house we could get a study area sorted out in here?" Okay now I know I sound like a nerd Karly added in her head.

Melissa laughed at Sarah's weirdness which was pretty cool, in her opinion anyway. "Hey," she said in a smile/laugh expression, yes she still was laughing in a way. "Hows you?" okay, she did see her awhile ago but. "So, erm, anything happened with the Slytherin yet?" she asked, she wanted to know what happened to those kids who were shouting and practically being for a detention. "Yeah it's great, you know sorta feels like home anyway," real home she meant not like her house which wasn't.

"Okayy!" Lissa laughed when Amy ran up the left stairs. "I'll be right back," she spoke to Sarah and followed her up the ancient looking stairs.

Amy jogged back and saw Lissa coming, come on slow coach! she called

Pam entered the Hufflepuff Common Room and was amazed by the room. After all, it was her first time here. It looked very warm and comfortable, maybe because of the colours used in the furnitures and decorations. There were many people chatting in the room,and it was very lively. She spotted the Girls' Dormitories and headed over there.

"Okay, aint my fault I'm not a hyper crazy weirdo!" Lissa joked. Hmm, too much sugar. She was relaxed too! Sighing she followed Amy.

I heard that! Amy shouted from the dormitory door, watching Lissa come up the stairs, it would do you some good to get hyper, she smirked at Lissa, loosen you up a bit

Kay smiled at Sarah and listen to her about her summer. "Sounds like you had fun with the shopping and the beach." She said know how Sarah left about not wanting to move. Kasy was tired and didn't want to do much. "My summer was good. Went shooping as well, and played Quidditch with my famliy." She said.

"Oh yeah, we're allll about the comfy here," Sarah gave a nod as best she could, and patted the seat her head was resting on. "And nice to meet you Karly."

Shifting her arms, Sarah folded them under her head, and kicked off her shoes, sending them tumbling to the floor.Study area? Hmmm. "Well - we do have the tables along the wall there set out for doing homework and stuffs, you could use those." She scrunched her face and though for a moment. "Not sure where we'd be able to put aside enough space for a full study area....If you wanted some quiet, though, there's always the library.Loads of space there," she grinned, hoping she'd helped a bit.They could ask, she supposed, but she wasn't sure what Masterson would say.

Now Melissa was laughing at her too.At least she wasn't in the mood to mind, instead she just winked back. "I'm alright thanks, just tired.Should probably go and sort my bed out soon, actually." Yessss, SLEEP.That sounded so good.Plush four-posters, curtains around them, squishy pillows.Hmmm.

Oh, the Slytherin's!

"Urrrr, I heard one of them got docked 50 points, and a couple were put in detention.Professor Truebridge really doesn't like anyone showing up his house." Oh boy no.Sarah dearly hoped that no Hufflepuff's felt the need to broadcast pranks, or indeed play them at all.Not cool.

"Yeah, this place is always homely.Tell you the truth," she whispered, leaning off the side of the sofa a little to get closer to Melissa, "it's actually nicer than my own lounge at home.I'd just NEVER tell my mum that."

"We did have fun.Turned the summer from a potentially boring one, into something good," Sarah nodded, then stiffled a yawn behind her hand.It really was getting late.Quidditch?! Cool. "Sounds like you had a good time too," she smiled. "I'd love to play quidditch at home, but it's a muggle neighbourhood, and I can't do magic outside school until next year, soooo." Huh, yeah...that was ANNOYING.

Melissa nodded at Sarah's reply. "Yeah, the feast lasted for hours! But I'm not as tired as you!" she spoke, Sarah DID look tired.

"50 points! Wow, that's alot." So that was that guy's name, Professor Truebridge and he was the head of Slytherin! "But I thought, it was just about 3 students or something shouting at the feast," she said, well it sounded like that.

Melissa looked at Sarah, hmm a confession maybe. She chuckled at the information. "Yeah, it's better than my whole house actually!" she laughed, that's what she thought, anywhere was better than her house. Well HOME was the best place and she hasn't seen it all yet.

"I suppose we could get a group together for classes." Avery sighed, class wasn't the kind of adventure she was looking for. Avery liked to get in trouble....or at least try to get in trouble, she almost never got caught. "I've always wanted to travel abroad, well I mean I've been to the states, my grandparents live there. But we never really do anything fun." Avery smiled at the girl.

Amy opened the portrait and stepped through, she walked over to the book shelf and got out the book she was reading before, curled into the armchair she was sitting on earlier and carried on reading the dogeared book, which had been thumbed through many a time. She started the 3rd chapter and lapsed into silence as she zoned into the book in her own little world, books are always there, when friends are not, whoever said that was a genius, she thought, thinking back to who said it, it was someone from history but she couldn't think who. As she racked her brains she carried on reading, slowly getting more and more emersed into the book

Slowly Amy finished the 10th chapter and stood up, took the book to the bookshelf, slotted it back in and slowly walked up the stairs to the dormitorys yawning as she went, it had been a long night

Hmm. Twisting her blonde hair around her finger Brody Summers wandered down from her dorm, and into the common room. She was a little bored, and hoping to find someone interesting her. She sat down on an empty couch, and kicked off her yellow heels. Those pretty ones that Goldy had brought her. They were really pretty, and she realy liked them. Tucking her legs underneath her, she sighed. Last night hadn't been good. Lori had been upset again, and she really hoped the girl wouldn't be upset forever, because Brody would worry about her.
