Amy finished off building her ship and added some final touches to the raft, she smiled at it and took a mental image of it, that way she could draw it later, she waited by her raft-y ship-y thing and listened out for the next set of instructions

Trixie grabbed some spare materials from the pile that was by te lake. She wasn't sure exactly what she had just picked up. All she knew was that it must come in handy somewhere with building a boat, otherwise it wouldn't be supplied and.....Oh what was that? Clothes pegs?? O_O Hehe! Evil snigger. Brought back good memories those did! But eh they weren't exactly helpful for building a boat. Unless..... Flag!

"Yes. So we are building a pirate ship now. And those cannons would be extremely helpful for sabotage" she giggled. Gah this was going to be hilarious. But alas! What were they gonna make cannons from? Eh they'd find a way around it. "Ok so you start with the wood work and I'll get on with the flag yes?" she suggested. Well he was a guy and more likely to be good with wood then she was.

"You are not the brain. I am the brains" she grinned but knew that Oliver wouldn't accept it if he had to be pinky and not the brain. So that was that idea out then. "Your the captain of the Quidditch Team NOT our boat" she stated. "We are co-captains or else" she said threateningly. Gah now all she needed was a plastic sword. Good job she had her wand then. And with a swish of her wand, two plastic swords apparated in front of her. "Walk thy plank ye scurvy seadog" she told him. "Hang on we need a plank" she grinned. And alas there was a plank of wood. "No Oliver, we are building a pirate ship" she grinned evilly.

SCORE!

"Welcome on board!" Gold chuckled, glad that Eli wanted to work with her. Because they were both awesome. Which meant that their raft would be made of plain, plain WIN.

She nodded, in response to his question. "You can use the Levitation Charm if you would like that," she told him. Wingardium Leviosa. "That's what I usually go for. It can work on pretty much anything, if you will it to. Mobiliarbus is a little harder, and can only move trees. The trick is to know the Latin, for what you want to shift. Mobili-Latin suffix," she added, by way of explanation. Mobili-whatever. Mobili, to move. The Latin, to state what you wanted to move. See?

She was sure Eli would get that. Ravenclaw!smart, remember?

"We can paint the raft when we're done," Gold said, thoughtfully. They had to assemble the logs first, of course. Get the other stuff done. But Gold was looking forward to a pretty paint job.

Destiny had NO idea how she was supposed to make a sail. Why did she even volunteer to make this thing!? Pfft. Perhaps she could just PRETEND she knew what she was doing. Take her time and when the raft was done, her crew members would be so ANGRY with her slowness, they would come and do it themselves!

That sounded like a good plan.

Adjusting her duckie floatie once more, she dropped to her knees to start..doing something to the white sheet in front of her. Just about to poke the sheet, Mina came to her RESCUE! Thank MERLIN! "Sure, you can help. I actually have no idea how to make a sail anyway."

Hopefully the other crew members didn't hear that.

Pfffft.

Yeah right.

From her spot on the ground, Destiny turned to Marie. There was NO way she was taking off her duckie floatie. "I don't THINK so Marie. I know the REAL reason you want me to take it off. You just want to STEAL IT from me, so you and Carter were the ones wearing floaties."

Destiny was too smart for this nonsense.



Okay, the whole floatie situation was taken care of, until someone else tried to steal it from her. Jeez, if Destiny would have known people were going to be JEALOUS, she would have made duplicates for them all! Oh well. She was the Captain and only she could wear the duck.

The others could wear those bright orange arm rings, like Carter.

Saluting Patroclus, about six more times, she turned back to the sail thing right in front of her. Maybe Mina could cut the thing into a triangle, and then Destiny could tie the ropes to it! That sounded easy enough. Opening her mouth to speak, she was suddenly distracted by Kylie calling out to ANOTHER Captain!

"Who is Captain Crunch and why are you calling my name so loud!?"

A Captain's work is never done.

So, sixteen logs all together? Well actually, they already had the ten logs, they just needed the six half logs. "Alright." Mwaha!

"Diffindo." she muttered, pointing her wand at one of the logs to cut it in half. So, if they needed six half logs, then.. wait, this was all they needed right? Aw well, it was good to have a little extra just in case someone did something. Like drop it on somebody and it breaks or if they levitate it and accidentally throw it somewhere. Why they would do that, Evelyn didn't know.

But it could happen!

Especially with Destiny and apparently a hyped up Kylie in the group. What was wrong with those two? Bahahaha! The heat was probably just getting to Kylie, but Destiny... well the Slytherin was always like this. Crazy girl. But an awesome crazy girl with her weirdo floaty things. Nodding at what Marie said about taking it off, Evelyn snickered as Destiny argued back before turning back to the other work. Six half logs...and what else did they need? One for a bast or whatever was said?

Raising her wand to cut one more, the Slytherin fumbled with her words when Kylie decided to give everyone a heart attack. "Eesh." she muttered, glancing back to the Hufflepuff. However, Destiny was right. "Yea, who is Captain Crunch?"

And why was his name Crunch? Did he like crunchy food or something?

Would it be wrong if she told him she's building a spaceship? Mhmm definitely not fun. "Uhhh. I think it looks more like a cubical raft, very new in design" she giggled at her failure but hey if takes her across the river then it would do. "Come on then" she motioned with one hand but then frowned because she glued two of her fingers together in the motion. Oh vey.

She hoped Dilly had had ideas, because well he was a boy and they were into these things.

Carter looked around at all the work being done... without him. Mina and Destiny were working on the sail. Evelyn and Patroclus were cutting wood. Marie and Kylie were laying it down. So he'd bind it. He grabbed some rope and hauled it over. He was NOT going to use magic for something like this. What if the magic died while they were crossing the lake? He and Destiny would be the only ones that floated.

Besides, it wasn't a raft unless it had TONS of rope.

Which reminded him... "It's alright. I've gotten used to them being on." he told me. Nope, he'd feel weird if he just took them off now.

Finally arriving with the rope at the raft he began pulling and weaving it through. He wasn't sure how good his magical binding skills were, but his muggle ones were pro. As soon as the base was secure they could start the next layer.

Eli grinned and nodded. He understood. He drew his wand. "Wingardium leviosa!" he cast, moving one of the logs over to by Gold. Then he turned to get another one and --

Wha-wha-whaaat was this?

Two of the Slytherin girls who had picked on him in the corridor were building a raft not far from his group!

Hmmmm.... A scheme formed in Eli's head.

He pointed his wand at another log. "Mobiliarbus." He tried. Fail. Okay... The tried and true: "Wingardium Leviosa!" The log levitated, and he slooooowly moved it, almost past the girls and then WHAM! He jerked his wand a little so the log would bump into them from behind.

Not hard. Just enough that it might knock them off their feet a little, maybe into the water if he was lucky.Payback for that trip jinx, you might say.

"G'job," Gold said, cheerfully.

Sooo, now they had another log. It was a little bigger than the others, however; and Gold, someone who worried a lot about details, knew she would want to make sure it was the exact size, before she charmed it to stick to the other logs.

"I'll cut this," she offered. "You can levitate more logs here, in the meanwhile. Then we can move on to the next step." She bent down, tracing her wand across the top of the log so that she could cut it; and, in doing so, completely missed what Eli was up to, what with his new use of the Levitation Charm, and all.

"How're you doing?" she asked, as she straightened up. She was in better spirits, now that she had work to do. It took her mind off the fact that she was in a swimsuit, here... in a swimsuit.

Carter looked up from his roping to see how Marie and Kylie were doing. When he looked up he saw something that surprised him.

He ran over to Kylie and Marie and jerked them out of the way. "Rogue log! Watch out!" he called to the others.

Hopefully he'd warned them in time. It was a slow moving log.

So slow in fact, that he probably didn't need to have yanked Marie and Kylie out of the way. A slow stroll would have probably taken them out of harm's way.

Oliver liked Trixie the Pixie's thinking and showed his approval in the form of a large mischievous grin. Hehe! “Arrr me hearties.” But how in the heck would they build cannons? Pffft.. so maybe they'd have to do without but Oliver would think of something equally awesome... soon. Just give him time, eh?

He gave her a look when she told him to get going with the raft boat while she did the flag. “Well that's fair.” He said sarcastically. “Cos a flag is oh so necessary here isn't it?” But he smirked to let her know that he was kidding and didn't mind starting on the boat while she messed about doing that.

He shook his head and set about collecting up a few planks of wood from the pile and setting them on the ground in their workspace as Trixie chuntered on about being the brains. Yeah.. that was why she was making a ruddy flag while he did the difficult part – ok, so maybe she was the brains for that reason but he was never going to admit it.. and he sure as hell wasn't Pinky! ZARG! “You realise if you're The Brain it makes you short and fat with a MASSIIIIIIIIVE head, right?” he smirked and turned his head to look at her.

Sigh. Co-captains they were then.. as if he expected to be given that. He selected some more planks of wood and laid them all side by side on the grass and began to use a severing charm to cut them all to the same length while his listened vaguely to Trixie. Though her pirate talk made him laugh and he straightened up. “I nay be walkin' th' plank, yer salty seadog.” He answered her gruffly. He nodded, yeah.. they could have a plank. “Hows the flag coming along?” He asked her. He may need her assistance soon. Once he'd finished his chop chop choppin'.

He shook his head and carried on with his plans for the raft. They could have a pirate raft if he was the one doing all the hard work. Merlin's pants he wouldn't know where the heck to start with a boat, but these planks of wood were already looking like.. planks of wood.

He shook his head, she didn't have anything to be sorry for. That's what he got for daydreaming during the lesson. "Oh don't worry we will," he winked at her before he hurried over to help Abbi.

He giggled as he pointed his wand at her fingers to unstick them. After that he put his hands on his hips and thought for a few minutes. Abbi had a good start so he just thought to finish what she had done. "Accio wood," he pointed at the pile of planks. The wood stood up and waltzed over to him. And then they assembled themselves on the ground next to the other planks. They glued themselves together. Soon they had a nice base for a sturdy ship.

Turning back to the logs, Evelyn was about to raise her wand again to cut one, when Carter now seemed to be the one spazzing out. Jeez! Was it really the sun doing this to people? Or was it the drinks in the school? Thank Merlin if it was the drinks since she didn't drink any of the stuff in the great hall. Unless on opening and closing feast that is.

Rolling her eyes at the Gryffindor since he ran, somewhere, Evelyn shook her head before turning back to the task at hand, oblivious to floating log behind them. "Diff-" What? Rogue log? Frowning, the Slytherin turned and glanced behind to see what the heck Carter meant by that-

*flail*

THUD!

Owwwww. The log hitting her stomach didn't exactly hurt that bad, if not anything at all, but tripping on one of the logs behind her feet as she was forced back from the levitated log and falling on her back? That one hurt.

Laying there for a moment, making sure she was alright, after a second or so she sat up and her eyes immediately went to Kylie for some odd reason. Since, she was the most crazy acting in the group at the moment, obviously this was her doing. Right? No, not right. The Ravenclaw thief kid. He wasn't far away, and he was the one levitating the log.

"PURPLE HEAD!!"

Marie laughed at Destiny when she said she just wanted the floatie for herself. "Yeah, that's it Destiny, I just wanted to look as cool as you do." Because Merlin knows duck floaties are the new fashion statement this term.

She was levitating the last of the logs over to Carter when all of a sudden she was being attacked by him. Falling to the ground she suddenly noticed why he was attacking her. There seemed to be a log on the loose. Looking around she seen it belonged to... the purple haired freak. Then she heard Evelyn yell at him. Oh, this boy was asking for it. If he thought her trip jinx was bad before he was going to hate her knock back jinx. She pointed her wand at him just about to knock him back right on his bum when she seen Gold standing there with him.

Pfft

Little brat hiding behind a prefect. Whatever! She would just get him later... and GET HIM she would.

Meh.

Perhaps Destiny wasn't the BEST choice to be Captain. She had NO idea what a rogue log was, and someone who is supposed to be Captain should know all these terms, right?

Well, she wasn't about to tell her crew she didn't know what it meant. They would make her walk the plank or something.

Lifting her head up, so she could see this rogue log, her vision was obscured by a LOG that was heading straight for her! Sweet Merlin! Since she was on her knees, she fell backwards onto the ground in a Matrix-like way, watching as the log passed right over her. Haha! She was safe from the runaway log..

But what WASN'T safe was her duckie floatie. Cringing at the POP she heard, Destiny sat up and frowned at her floatie that was now deflating. She glanced up, trying to find the duckie MURDERER, when Evelyn called out to the Purple Headed Freak. So it was HIM who did this, yeah?

"You little Purple Headed Cretin! You killed my duck!"

She needed to find a rock to throw at his head..

"Just fine!" Eli said happily to Gold. He couldn't have felt better, as he was getting a little well-placed justice for the tripping and the hammering attacks by the she-snakes.

He watched her stumble and then heard her yell.

Eeps!

His eyes widened as he was identified as the culprit. "Oh, so sorry!" he shouted back. "Just having a bit of trouble with my levitating charm."

He cast again: "Wingardium leviosa!" and levitated the log, setting it neatly by Gold. Then he stepped close to the Gryffindor prefect, for protection's sake. Then he smiled a little serves-ya-right-ya-bully syrupy smile at the Slytherin girl.

"What else should I do, Gold?" he asked eagerly. He wanted to be a big help to the redhead!

Something was... wrong.

To begin with, Evelyn was shouting at Eli. That, Gold could understand. Evelyn did, after all, have a... reputation. But when Marie did not look too pleased, Gold wondered what had taken place, right under her nose. Meh. She needed to focus less on her raft, and more on what went on, in her immediate surroundings. Or so it seemed, right now.

She turned to Eli.

"Be good, for a start," she said, with a little nod. Because, you know, he had asked what he ought to do. "I have no idea what happened, but I hope you really were having trouble with your levitation, Eli." She gave him a Prefect-y look, for a moment. Oh, well. "You can help me bind these logs together, or you can make a pretty flag for our raft." Cut fabric, make little stick-figures on it and give them wings, dip it in paint. That kind of stuff. Fun. "Whatever you want to do. I was thinking we could have two flags, on board. One blue, one red. What do you say?"

She traced her wand across the top of the new log Eli had set by her side, as she spoke. Maybe they could have one flag, half-blue half-red, instead. Gold was full of ideas!

"What else do you think we can do, to make our raft look pretty?"

Could they give it WINGS?!

Marie looked over when she heard Destiny yell at the FREAK. If it wasn't for the situation she would have laughed and said I told ya so when she seen the deflated duck around her waist. As it was though, this was NO laughing matter. The freak was being viscious and then hiding behind Gold.

That's okay though, she knew Gold was not a stupid girl so hopefully she would catch on that he was picking on her favorite Slytherins here.

"I am bein' good. I'm just still really bad at wand-magic. My stepfather wouldn't even let me do any magic at all till I got to Hogwarts, not even simple stuff to practice. So now I suck at it. I practice and practice, but I just can't always get it to work right." This was absolutely true, and Eli felt very sad about it. He gave Gold a tragic look.

"I didn't mean to bump those girls. I'm sorry." This was absolutely not true. He was glad she fell. And--

He cringed and looked over. There didn't appear to be a real life duck, or even a real dead duck, around. "Sorry?" he called out to them, then turned his attention to Gold.

"What if we -- well, you -- did a spell on it to make the logs look like a magic carpet pattern, and then we made an awesome flag for it?"

"...."


That was a nice raft. "Well paint me blue and call me Winnifred! Go move my lawn chair to your boat, Becca Parker. Do some jumping jacks on that raft, too. Wave test or something. But that looks GOOD. Crazy good. You're clearly one of mine." CHUFF CHUFF CHUFF.


Lainey EYED the duo, STINK eyed them. Hmm. She strolled over onto their boat, stepping into the water then climbing aboard. "You two are eternally up to no good."

..

"I like it. Keeps things interesting, no?" Yes? No? Question? What? Yeah. "But I don't see any safety belts, so I have one of my own." Lainey grabbed Daisy's hand, then she squashed it under her arm to hold. Then she grabbed up Carson's hand. "I won't make you hold hands - but if one of you go over board, the other will follow shortly behind." Lainey used her free hand to conjure up a light, but sturdy string and bound the wrists of the two students together.


"Now. I'd get comfortable walking around like that. Consider what power you're going to use to get from THIS shore, to THAT shore."

She gave them both a pat on the head, then wandered off to inspect more boats.

"What do you mean, what do I think? I think all sorts of things! That's a personal question! I won't say a word without my lawyer present!!!!"

Well. She wouldn't. Though Lainey probably needed a lawyer first... Particularly when planning to sail an entire class over a very dangerous lake. Oh WELLS. "Simon, did you test for leaks? Balance? Do as the others, my boy, and show me some jumping jacks at all corners of your vessel!"

Hmmm. Lainey raised her wand to Jacob...

... and scratched her hairline with it. "Jacob. I worry for you. Have you been sniffing trees or something?" .......... "I'm going to need you do a few tests on your boat. Jumping jacks. Every corner. And pray it doesn't fall apart."

"Amy!" Lainey cupped her mouth and shouted needlessly. "AAAAMMMMMYYYYYYYY. Did you test your boat, my girl? HOP on it! Like, literally, HOP on it. Make sure it'll hold up!!"


"What is going on over there with Captain Crunch's and all those Slytherin Girls' that flirt with the Gryffindor boys group??? Logs are for transportation purposes, not weapons! Unless a giant charges us from the Forrest, then all bets are off!" In other words, they needed to probably behave? The Ravenclaw in the group. Yeah. Yeah that was a strange group. Lainey, of course, liked it. "Less murder, more building!!"


"STUDENTS and SAILORS.... and PIRATES," 'cause there were a few of those now, "we have need to sail before sunset! So finish up, my dear ones, or you'll be swimming behind the rest of us!" haha

hahaha wouldn't that be sad? Or funny. Maybe Lainey should have considered life jackets.... Hmmm....

Anyways. "When you finish your vessel, get EVERYONE on your team onto your creation. Jump around on it. If it doesn't fall apart, you're ready to sail! We'll sail as a class though, so no one jump off yet!"


ooc: Touz has company for the 4th of July weekend. I will be uber busy through Monday. So, this evening before I sign off, I'm going to let you all SAIL across the Lake. You can RP your hearts out, sailing, getting from one shore to the other in whatever creative (but feasible) way you wish. I'll have more instructions later, but I wanted to let you KNOW the plan. =) Finish up building your vessel while I go run errands, and we'll start sailing tonight (roughly 6...7..8 hours or something).

Slowly standing up, Evelyn wiped any dirt off of her pants and white cover up before looking towards the Purple headed freak. He was lucky he was near a Prefect. Smart kid. Not so smart however to be messing with them. Hmm, Ravenclaw and Gryffindork all in one!

Picking her wand back up since it was thrown from her hand when she fell backward, Evelyn moved forward to help Destiny up. Killed her duck? Before holding her hand out as an offer to help her Slytherin friend up, the hazel eyed girl looked down at the floatie that Destiny was wearing.

Yea, she couldn't help the few chuckles that escaped her, despite the situation they were in.

"You should've listened to Marie." she said, holding her hand out for Destiny to take. "C'mon. We'll get him later." That was something she didn't even have to promise. They WOULD be getting him later.

Was the Professor talking to them? She did say Captain Cru- WHAAAAT?! Slytherin girls that flirt with Gryffindor boys?

Pffft. Just...pfffffffffft.

None of them were flirting! At least, Evelyn thought none of them were much to her disappointment. Unless, Marie was flirting with Carter. Than that was just gag.

Eep! They were sailing soon! "Alrighty then." Mmhmm, so her grumpy mood just increased by a bazillion, but that was okay! All of that anger can be put forth into working on the raft! Which, pretty much was looking more and more like a raft that would float now. Yush! Their team, was awesome. Big, but awesome.

What wasn't awesome was the dirt spot on her WHITE cover up though. Not cool. She should make Purple head wash it.

Mina smiled and lowered her voice slightly as she dropped to her knees before the sheet. "I have an idea," she replied. A sail wouldn't be all that hard to make and it wasn't as if they needed it to be fancy or something.

Pulling her wand out, she aimed toward the top of the sheet. A few cuts up there and maybe two tiny cuts near the bottom. Eyeing out the locations of the cuts, she cast Diffindo.

Standing back, she nodded. It looked like it would work. Glancing around she spotted some rope and a long narrow piece of wood. Yes, that would definitely work.

Getting up slowly, she stood up fully and headed over to grab the rope and wood, but not before she heard Carter yell. Glancing over she saw the log and hit the ground, her hands over her head.

Looking up, she then noticed just where the log had come from and slowly picked herself up. What in the world was that Ravenclaw playing at anyway. Looking down at herself, she groaned. She was dirty now and that kind of upset her.

Dusting off the dirt from herself, she glanced at Destiny. Mr. Duckie was deflated! Okay, now that wasn't not cool at all. Hearing Evelyn, she glanced back at the little Ravenclaw. She wasn't one to dislike anyone in her own house, but he's behaviour was rather uncalled for.

Gathering what she needed, she returned to the sail and went to work. They would be on the water soon and there was no time to waste.

Eli's eye was caught by a Gryffindor boy who apparently decided not to listen to the Professor's orders not to set sail. His jaw dropped as the boy set sail; he stopped what he was doing to watch.

The raft's little sail thwacked him into the water!

Eli's hand shot up. "Professor Lainey! Gold! Look! There's a kid in the lake!" He pointed at the kid's floating body. He wasn't going to jump in or anything, of course. That would be breaking the rules. Plus he was a bad swimmer; it would not be logical to jump in and have two drowning kids!

"Mobilicorpus!" he tried to use Gold's latin word thing to levitate the body. Nothing happened. Great. He must be moving the wand wrong.

Rex moved a little. "What, do not sail yet? Rex asked and heard those words. Rex swam back to shore and pulled his sailboat back with him

Daisy laughed.Her up to no good. Impossible.Daisy shook her head."Interesting. No. I mean, yes?" then there was the word safety belts, she knew there was something missing but then the professor said something about one of her own and nodded. Then a string connected her wrist to Carson's.Daisy lifted her wrist and Carson's went up with it. "Professor is this really necessary? I mean it's a great idea that way if I fall overboard he has no choice but to save my life. BUT...but....uh...but." Daisy couldn't find a reason to not have the string. "Never mind it'll work itself out." She walked around trying to pace but having to drag Carson along with her made it complicated.
