The supplies for this lesson had been difficult to collect, Sage was sure it was going to be worth it though and he gave the classroom a once over. He was making sure nothing looked out of the ordinary.. nothing suspicious. It looked normal. Good. The usual lab desks and stools were in place and each workspace contained a few palm-sized, deep red petals all ready for phase one.

Trixie skipped into herbology. She liked professor Dawson. Well she did use him for her homework so now knew some business about his past. Not that she was gonna spread anything around or anything. Not that was anything to spread in the first place. "Morning Professor" she grinned happily as she walked really near the front. Why did she have the sudden urge to want to go to the front? Oh well. "How is everything go SIr?" she asked and then turned to give a gentle smile over at Maddie.

Oh, Professor Dodson. Gold loved that man, he was so... down-to-earth and sweet. Saying a polite hello to Professor Dodson as she stepped in, for the Herbology class, Gold scanned the neat and tidy place with bright, green eyes to see if anyone she knew was around.
Not yet.
But she knew more people would arrive, soon.

Nymphy walked in to the large greenhouse and put his bad down. Even after alnmost two years, the smell had beccome not even a smig more barable. He got out his dragon hide gloves and google and waited for the lesson to start. Seeing his professor he said, "Good Morning Professor Dudson. How are you this fine day?" he asked, smiling.

Freeman, ever the serious student-of-life, approached the front of the greenhouse with great care not to tread upon anything alive. He slipped into place by a sixth-year Griffie. Close enough to the professor to dispel criticism, but not so close as to draw attention to oneself as a brown-noser. He sat and folded his hands on the table neatly.
Maybe today wouldn't be a 'dirty' day.

William entered the Herbology classroom yawning loudly. Last night he'd had a nightmare that had kept him awake, shaking and very confused. Stretching his shoulders, arms wide over his head he nodded to professor Dodson, "Hello pro...Professor." he stuttered, yawning once more before flushing slightly as he made his way to a seat, siting down. He would make it through class, then go have a nap in the dorm room.

Sage somehow managed not to shudder at the memory. It was an awful one and it was the last time he volunteered to be locked underwater in a crate. "Much better now I'm above water, yes.." he said slightly nervously. Heh.
Just as expected, a few more students trailed into the classroom. Professor Dodson welcomed them all with a polite smile and he noted how tired William was looking. He had some interesting stuff planned for the lesson, so hopefully the Ravenclaw wouldn't nod off.. it'd be a shame if he missed it!
"I'm sure you remember last lesson when we learned about plants that heal," Professor Dodson decided to get on with things, "and therefore how Herbology plays an important part in the Healing career. Healing isn't the only career it's useful in though.. who can tell me what other professions plants could be handy in?"
In other words, who could guess what today's lesson would be about.

In other words, wand-making.
"Oh, and potions. You need a good knowledge of plants, to be a good potioneer." That was simple enough. "Of course, potion-making can be linked up to a variety of subjects, too." Such as healing. It was like a cycle, or at least a building. Each block contributed a whole lot.

Sage nodded at all the answers, some of them new and some of them similiar to the answers he'd received when he'd asked the question last lesson. "Those are all correct," he nodded, "Caterers, wand-makers, potioneers and landscapers.."

"Very good!" Sage exclaimed with a clap of his hands, "if there are any of you in here who are hoping to one day become an Auror, knowledge of plants is very important." His voice grew more serious as he explained. "For most potions or spells, more often than not there's a plant or a herb that can do the same job." Not always as efficiently and sometimes it was a pain FINDING said plant, but yes. "Therefore Herbology is quite vital to anyone in the field of magical forensics.. detectives and Aurors."
He took a moment to breathe and waited until the kids had finished taking notes. And just incase.. "Any questions so far?"

Freeman paused, his eyebrows furrowed and eyes focused on the petals in front of him. He wasn't planning to become an Auror, but so far none of the teachers had cared whether their particular lesson applied to Freeman's future plans. He had figured out rather quickly that he was expected to learn completely useless information, regardless of how he felt about it. What bothered Freeman was that logically his argument made sense. Weren't representatives of the greater academic system supposed to care about logic? And yet, here he was.
The small boy regarded the flower petals with distaste. No, he had no questions. Other than the obvious, what is the point of my being here?
