Selena raised her hand before replying. "Is it because Herbology can help with discovering new medications and knowledge on it is used for potions?" |

| Pet, Nuzzle, Bite. Mherrfph. | Paris, Roma, Home Again | Possible Lovegood Abby walked into the Herbology classroom with high spirits. She didn't exactly have experience with the subject. Or, at least there hadn't exactly been a specific Herbology class back at Salem. So, her mind was fresh and there would be no prejudice here like her other classes. Upon entering, she immediately felt even better than before. Now, this was a classroom that reminded her of home; with the lab-style tables and stools. Of course, that was minus the plants and such that surrounded the room.
As she moved toward the tables, Abby smiled brightly at the nervous-looking man at the front of the room. She took it, he was the professor. "Good day, Professor," she said with a nod of her head. Then, she proceeded to the tables and took a seat near the front. Best get a good grip on the class from the start since the subject was a bit newer to her. OOC: Gah. Class started. Gonna edit post now.
Abby watched and listened as the professor stepped forward to introduce himself. Daaang. She wished he wasn't so nervous. It kind of made her feel nervous too. Heh. When he asked his first question, she raised her hand. "Sir, I think that Herbology would be important for the field of medicine. For example, discovering magical plants or herbs with properties to help the sick," she said. Mhm! Oops! And she forgot to tell him her name. "Oh, and my name is Abby Hartzler," she said. She included the last name for good measure. Didn't the English like to refer to people by their last names or something?

Cadence shot her hand into the air. "Cadence, Professor. And Healer! Because you'd have to know what plants have healing properties!" she said with a smile.

Yes, he decided that was a good start. Lysandra raised her hand and said I'm Lysandra Malfoy and Herbology can be in the career of being a Potions master for example. Knowing what you put in your potion is crucial and knowing what the plants magical properties can help you not literally blow yourself up when brewing a potion. |

| The REAL Sorting Hat: "Ravenclaw!" This monkey is bananas. William put his hand up, "William Cullack Sir and I'd have to say Potions, because you need a lot of herbs and other stuff from Herbology in Potions." he replied grinning a bit taking out a quill and parchment,

Yes, he decided that was a good start. After thinking for a few moments, Vashti raised her hand to answer. "Maybe if you wanted to be a gardener?" Did they have those in the wizarding world or was that just a Muggle thing? Ah well, might as well go with it. "You know, so that you don't plant something dangerous in someone's garden if they don't want it. So you'd need to be good in Herbology to know which plants are dangerous and which are harmless." Maybe Aunt Grace should take Herbology. "Oh, and my name's Vashti Greenwell," she added, remembering that he wanted to know their names. "Hi."

This guy was like…twitchy or something. Hehe. Listening to him speak, Evelyn sat on the stool with her hands in her lap, staring at the table in front of her before looking to see who had sat next to her. Huzzah! Destiny arrived. Just in time too. Well, actually who knows…Evelyn wasn’t paying attention to her surroundings until now so she could’ve been there all along. “Umm…I’m Evelyn Flores, Professor. People who are wandmakers. Since they deal with trees and such all the time for wands.” She said after raising her hand. Right?

Yes, he decided that was a good start. Rae raised her hand, for she was at the job fair and she had been given an example of how herbology would help HER. "Professor, my name's Rae, Herbology would help me specifically in becoming a trapper for Magical Creatures. I was told that i needed herbology for tracking and knowing what plants certain creatures liked." Rae had finished feeling confident.

Raising his hand, "Patroclus Hudson Sir, also Herbology can be used for awareness, as some plants when treated incorrectly can harm, Herbology teaches correct plant management."
Unsure it was wholely correct, it was an answer nonetheless.

Lucky raised her hand. "Lucky Torelli, sir," she introduced herself. "And wouldn't the career of healing... or medicine making be important with Herbology?" Because she was sure there was some medicine out there that was had some ingredients that involved plants. Mhmm.

"Yes, indeed!" Sage said, chilling out a little now he was in his element. Talking about Herbology. "If you're planning to work with Magical Creatures - well, any creature in general really - understanding Herbology is a bonus. Not just for their diet, but for their habitat too!" Quote:

"Excellent start," the Professor said approvingly, glancing around the room once more. "They're all very good answers, but today we're going to be focusing on just one of those. Healing." He wondered how many of these students were interested in a career in that field.
"Whether you're interested in the field of healing or not," he started, continuing his thoughts, "understanding the properties of medicinal plants could help you out one day." It had helped him. Numerous times. "Maybe even save your life. Anyone know of any plants that contain healing properties?"
The plants he'd strategically placed around the room all had some special healing property.

Once again, Cadence's hand shot into the air. She had actually learned something in her Potions class, despite how disasterous it had been. "Professor, lavender and aloe leaves both have healing properties. A strictly magical plant that has healing properties would be a mandrake," she said confidently

Noooooo!
Destiny slapped her forehead as the Professor mentioned what they were going to be focusing on in class. Healing. She did not care for anything dealing with that. It was bad enough she still had her Healer's wand, pffft.
He didn't just want magical plants, did he? Oh well. She raised her hand anyway, "Professor! I'm Destiny Shepard!" That she was. "Sage is a plant and it can be used to treat arthritis and headaches."
How was she supposed to know the Professor had the same name as the plant? Heh.

Keeley grinned. Not that she particularly loved Herbology, but there was a knew teacher! FUNN! New people were always fun. Except for when they're mean, of course, then they mean boo! But this nervous dude seemed cool, so the quirky girl adjusted her fedora hat that she had put a cala lilly in (special for herbology) and raised her hand. "Hi new professor guy! I'm Keeley, and for your question... uh... chammomile heals external bites, cuts, and other irritants on the skin." Beam!

Hmm, healing properties. Abby racked her brain for any herbs she would know with healing properties. Erm. She raised her hand. "Feverfew, professor? It helps to reduce fevers," she said. And if she wasn't mistaken, it helped with arthritis and headaches too.
