Truer words were never spoken. All the people he had been talking to lately were either Slytherins or Hufflepuffs. Mostly Slytherins. "I'm happy to talk with you as well," he smiled. Ah yes, that conversation by the lake. He shook his head and waved the matter off. "Don't worry about it; it looked like a pretty important conversation anyhow." He was curious as to what it was about.. probably Patrick, but it really wasn't his place to ask.

Nicolette glanced around the room, looking to meet more people. She felt slightly intimidated, but knew this would be the only way she could finally start to come out of her shell. She walked over to a boy, who looked a little older than her, still scared to introduce herself.

"Hello there, my name's Nicolette. I'm a first year here, and I was wondering if you'd life some company?"

Wow, this girl certainly cut to the chase. He kind of just looked at her for a moment; no doubt that he had been caught off guard, but now he was on the spot so he had to say something. "Yeah, I like Ella," he answered, running his fingers through his hair, only to mess it all up. He smiled a little, thinking about the Slytherin. "She's really great, you know? Never know what to expect from her, so she kinda keeps everyone guessing." He looked at her and remembered that the two didn't exactly get along. "But anyway.. why do you ask?"

"Actually I wouldn't know." Vanessa frowned. "She's quite mean to me, all because I like the guy she likes." She shrugged. Once he said that he did like her she raised an eyebrow. It seemed to her that Aiden liked Trixie... "I thought you liked Trixie, not Ella." She said a bit confused. "Then again I guess you can like more than one person." She sighed.

Hmm. This girl was something different. He didn't know what to make of her. "What exactly did you want me to help you with?" He'd have to know what he was getting into before he would commit to anything. "And yes, Ella and I are friends." Aiden waited for Vanessa to answer him.

"Vanessa, tell me," Aiden said.. nicely, though. "I want to help. And I can tell that you need to get whatever it is off your chest as well." He smirked a bit when she tried to get back to the subject of professions, but he merely shook his head. He'd wait there all day, if he had to.

"Just promise me that you won't tell anybody, especially Ella. Well she might already know, but still." She said sighing. Just one look in Aiden's eyes could make Vanessa trust him like that. However she always needed to ask. She was such a sucker for gourgeous eyes.

The corners of his lips curled into a smile as Vanessa relented. There was no doubt that he was quite stubborn. Ah well, everyone had their faults. Aiden didn't exactly like the idea of keeping something from Ella, but it's not like they were a married couple. "You have my word," Aiden promised, meeting her eyes. And he was never one to go back on his promises, so the dark-haried beauty before him didn't have anything to worry about. "So.. what is it?"

Magnolia strolled into the common room lugging her bag full of books. She found an empty table and dumped the books out on the table. They were all books about Patronus charms. She picked one up and opened it, beginning to read.

Adelyn entered the common room, looking around for a place to sit. Upon spotting an empty cushion arm chair next to the fireplace, she quickly rushed towards it. She glanced around the room, looking for a familar face, and Brant's cat, Jinx, that he was so generously sharing with her. Adelyn smiled as the black cat ran towards her, stopping at her feet. She reached down to pick him up and placed him in her lap. Stroking the cat, Adelyn began singing quietly to herself, and she hoped no one heard.

Aiden released a breath of air and reverted to throwing his fingers through his hair. He didn't even know what he wanted anymore, but he needed to do something. Blue eyes met dark brown ones. "I'll do it," he confirmed.
