His gaze dropped to the book when Simon closed it so he could read the title. It was their DADA book, so he was probably doing work that needed to be done for it. Jaylon was actually very good in that class and wouldn't need to copy, but why do it himself. Sometimes it got on his nerves to have to do work on something you already knew. He laughed when Simon asked if he was going to get into trouble for letting him copy. "Come on now why would I get you in trouble. As if I'd copy word for word from your paper. I'm not stupid you know."
Brayden finished writing the last sentence on her charms homework, and put the piece of parchment into her bag. She looked up and recognized too girls from her dorm sitting in the common room. So they were first years too...she approached them, "Hey my name's Brayden, I think we are in the same dorm room. You guys are first years too, right?"
"Hi Brayden. My names Lillyia, but you can just call me Lia. And yeah we are in the same dorm. Its really nice to meet you. Have you made many friends yet? I haven't met anyone else yet!" Lillyia rambled... she always got nervous when it came to meeting new people.

Nessa sat on the couch intrigued by the story Brayden had revealed and soon Nessa finally felt at ease when she understood that Brayden wasn't offended and another person feels the same way as she did right now. Nessa looked at Brayden, "I know how you feel...about feeling like a muggle" Nessa began to explain, "I was basically raised as a muggle, when my mom and dad found out about the letter, they were both in utter shock, of course my dad was most shock. My mom is a witch but she lost hope in me when I reach the age 10 because she noticed nothing strange happening until days later, after my mom was going to enroll me into Junior High, that's when the letter came flying in through the kitchen window and landed in my lap." Nessa said while thinking upon that day. "Finally I opened it and read the letter out loud. I was very confused buy I couldn't understand why mom was so happy. She finally told me the story of her family, how she was a muggle born and was hoping she could pass it onto me. Then the fun started when dad came home late that evening, he is still shock till today." Nessa mentioned trailing off thinking about a recent letter she received from home.
"But even though mom was a student at Hogwarts many years back, she still hasn't opened up to me about this world. She just wants me to meet friends of all kinds and be involved in school. I was so excited to come to London because I'm from Hawaii and it's completely different here but I love it." Nessa finished with a smile, hoping she made Brayden feeling more at ease about being a muggle. Nessa than looked at Brayden again "If your parents are unable to take you in for the summer, I'm pretty sure my mom wouldn't mind you staying over for the summer." Nessa included wondering if it was the right thing to say and if it was the right moment to say it, "But of course, we still have a long way to go before we reach summer," She adding glancing at the calender posted on the wall.

For a minute Lillyia waited for Brayden to reply, not realising she had been addressed by the other girl. When she realised she jumped and turned to the girl, "Hi Nessa, its lovely to meet you," she smiled, "My name is Lillyia, but you can call me Lia if you like... Lillyia really is too long a name." Lia beamed at the other girl. It really is a good feeling, she thought, making new friends isn't so bad afterall.

She mumbled as she collapsed into one of the arm chairs and slouched down. She was so tired that she wasn't quite sure she could make it up to her room. Meh. I'll stay here for a while. she thought to herself. And then, out of no where, Bloo hopped up into her lap and Cole shrieked and nearly jumped out of her skin. "Bloo!" she shouted at him. But then she began to relax, as his fur began to warm her up and she immediately forgot that he had startled her only moments before.

I'm from Arizona originally, but I've moved a lot, so I've been living in New York City for the last year or so. That's really really nice of you to offer me a home for the summer. I guess I'll have to cross that bridge when I come to it, but it would be sooo cool to stay in a wizarding household. I'll keep you in mind."

It was awesome, when I stood up for the first time I was so happy I nearly jumped off the board. Lia beamed even larger. Having friends was amazing! Listening to Nessa talk about her family made Lia empathise. She had siblings at home too who didn't know about Hogwarts yet. She listened as Nessa explained her heritage before replying, "Wow, thats an interesting family you've got there. My family is almost as hard to explain I guess. My grandmother was a muggleborn, and my grandfather was half-and-half. My mum was their only daughter and turned out to be a Squib. My dad is muggle, and mum never said anything about Hogwarts until my letter arrived. I'm not even allowed to tell my younger siblings where I am. They all think i'm at an intelluctual boarding school. Mum doesn't want to say anything until she finds out if they have magic or not." Lia went a little quiet thinking of her younger siblings before continuing, "But I do have an older sister, and although she doesn't have any magic I've told her all about Hogwarts. She thinks its amazing!" Lia beamed. Seemed like she was doing that alot today!
Nessa watched Brayden and Lia talk as she sat there listening. "I would love to study with you girls for Herbology." Nessa insisted on engaging into their conversation, "I enjoy gardening but I'm unsure about the plants they have here at Hogwarts." She continued.
She than turned to Lia, "I am unsure how to word my heritage because I know for sure my mom is a muggleborn, she was sorted into Ravenclaw when she was in Hogwarts. As for my dad I know for sure he is a muggle. So I'm wondering how my siblings are going to turn out" Nessa finished thinking about her parents and brother and sister, 'Oh how I miss them', she thought.

My grandmother was a muggleborn, and my grandfather was half-and-half. My mum was their only daughter and turned out to be a Squib. "Great, hopefully none of us will fail herbology then, or charms," Brayden declared. "I'm from Arizona, but I've lived in New York City for the past year or so." she explained to Lia. "...and I'm adopted so I know nothing about my heritage. I'm an only child as far as I know. Hawaii sounds great Nessa! Oh my god isn't surfing soooooo fun though. It's probably one of the funnest things I've ever done." Brayden said grinning. "Gardening is a nice pastime," she continued, "I've always like gardens, they're pretty, but I've never actually planted one. I like to draw in my free time, I have a sketchbook that I've carried around with me since I was five. It's almost filled up now, I'm not sure how I can get one here, everyone uses parchment. I suppose I could owl home, but I'm not sure if they'd reply. I also play guitar when I can, but I don't own one of those. Maybe I could get a third year to see if there are any in Hogsmeade."

Lia was awestruck. "You play guitar too?" she screeched. She plays guitar! I instantly like her more! "I play guitar too, have for about 2 years now! It's sooo much fun... and you live in New York? Wow. I've heard it's really pretty there! and sketching is an awesome past-time... I could probably get you a sketch pad and some pencils if you like. My sister owls me things I've forgotten at least twice a week!" She then turned to Nessa, "Don't tell me you sketch/play guitar too? that would be wicked! but i bet you have some really cool interesting hobby!"
Lexi pulled her legs up and hugged her knees before looking over at him. "I tell you I missed you and all I get is a grunt or sommat... that hurts, Sabel. You are the best friend I had here... you and Dylan were the only ones that wrote to me. I missed you. Can I get something other than a grunt, please, " she said in a tiny sad voice.
Her mind was telling her that maybe Sabel didn't value their friendship as much as she did.
Sabel ran his hands down his face and let out a heavy breath. "Alexa...it was an acknowledgement." If she wanted to hear a grunt, he could show her what a grunt sounded like. "I missed you too. I did." He ran his hands down his face again, trying to figure out how to word his thoughts. "Just...I've had a lot on my mind. There's been a lot to process." He turned his eyes to her. "If I didn't care, I wouldn't have written."

"I really do love surfing, it's basically the sport that I mostly play" Nessa said and she fell into a trance thinking about being in the water. "I love to garden, my mom and I started a garden of our own, since I lived in Hawaii I love Hibiscus flowers, planted them and it became a hobby" Nessa added, smiling so big, she didn't realize. "Oh drawings, I have an Uncle that draws and they are amazing, do you think I could see some of your sketches? I can't wait till you find a guitar! I want to hear you play, it must be a lot of fun."'I really enjoy listening to music' Nessa thought.

Nessa sat there listening to both of her friends talk, 'It's nice to have friends' she thought, as she noticed all the different qualities they have. It was nice, the common room was semi-empty, the fireplace was warm and it was just the three of us. Nessa laughed at the thought of Lia's heritage being the same as hers because she thought there was no other family in the same situation as her family but it was nice for someone to understand the family situation.
Nessa than turned to Lia, "No I don't play guitar or sketch." she finished with a giggle, "But I do have hobbies, I enjoy playing video games, volleyball and horseback riding" Nessa finished with a smile, forgetting she was at a Wizarding school. "What do you enjoy doing Lia?" Nessa wondered.
Lia was awestruck. "You play guitar too?" she screeched. She plays guitar! I instantly like her more! "I play guitar too, have for about 2 years now! It's sooo much fun... and you live in New York? At first Brayden was a bit overwhelmed by Lia's reaction. However, she wasn't the type of person who really minded when people randomly started screaming or over reacting, so she just grinned back at Lia. "I've been playing for maybe four years now, I move around a lot and I don't own a guitar, so I play when I can. New York City is fun, there's always stuff going on... You would really ask your sister for a sketchpad. I can pay you for it, but only in sickles and knuts, I don't have any muggle money."

I ended up leaving because my foster mother ended up getting pregnant, and they couldn't afford to have two children. Since I left there I've lived in five other places, including New York."
