Brayden finished writing the last sentence on her charms homework, and put the piece of parchment into her bag. She looked up and recognized too girls from her dorm sitting in the common room. So they were first years too...she approached them, "Hey my name's Brayden, I think we are in the same dorm room. You guys are first years too, right?"

Jason was startled, and he pulled back. He dropped her while hugging. Had she qouted that from a book or something? She had never sounded like this before. "My love is fading too. I don't think we should be together anymore. I love Avery now, I can't love you. Both of you are seperate beings, totally different. I think i'll go with one of them, and that's not you." He sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Bye Reed." He whispered, looking down at his shoes.

Stepping through the portrait and into the common room with Alexa, Sabel was hit with a sudden de ja vu that knocked him into a brief moment of stillness. It was impossible not to remember last year, standing in the common room, holding Alexa as she cried and he had to blink a few times to pull himself back to the present. That was in the past. This was a new year. A fresh start?

Shaking his head a little to clear his thoughts, he moved over to one of the free couches in front of the fire, intent on getting warm from the wintery chill that still clung to their clothing from outside. "We should have grabbed some hot coco on the way up." He muttered, letting go of Alexa's hand to drawing the scarf off from around his neck. "There's nothing like warm coco on a cold day."

Alexa climbed through the portrait hole behind Sabel and was momentarily stuck... She hadn't been here in so long, it seemed. Surely they were remembering the same thing. Alexa had sat and cried her eyes out to Sabel in this very place before leaving the school for St. Mungo's. Shaking herself from her reverie she followed him over to the couch and shrugged out of her pea coat and other wintery attire.

"Yeah, cocoa would have been nice. But this is fine too," she said as she plopped down on the plush couch and sighed a little as she let her eyes wander around the room. If there was one thing she could count on not to change it was the Gryffindor Common room... and most of the Gryffies themselves really. Heh. Looking back at Sabel she said, "So, what do you wanna know? Surely you have questions. I am willing to talk to you about whatever you want. Gold told me I need to get it all out... so I am ready if you are." She sure hoped she was ready...

Jaylon slowly made his way into the common room to rest for a bit. Hoping to find a close seat by the fire to warm up a bit. He hadn't been outside, but certain parts of the castle got real chilled, especially since it was winter. Spotting an empty chair he made his way over to it and flopped down. Taking in a deep breath as he relax back into the cushioned chair and stared into the fire. The flames reflecting in his blue eyes as he thought about what he could to do for the rest of the day.

Shrugging off his coat, he draped it over the back of the couch and stood momentarily, staring into the fire. Ask her questions. Any questions. Those were the kinds of thoughts that had ran through his mind throughout the first month of summer. Throughout the first month of being back at Hogwarts too. Now, he couldn't think of them. Couldn't think of any but one.

Slowly, he turned halfway to look down at her, sticking his hands into his pockets as he watched her. "Did you find what you were looking for?"

Alexa took a deep calming breath and honestly answered, "Not yet, but I think I could be on the right track. I am back... that's a start. I have my friends, that's good... I thought I could find myself in there, but I kind of got lost again, ya know." She busied herself with picking at a hole in the leg of her jeans instead of looking at him when she asked her question.

"Would you help me?" she asked in a tiny voice, "Help me remember who I was before all this happened."

It had been a long, long time since Ella had sit down and relaxed in the Gryffindor Common Room. Now she was the new Chaser of the Quidditch team, had gone to many classes, and was lost in thought of the football match she had won a while ago. And then, there was Evan..

Plopping into a golden armchair, she rest her head back, closed her eyes, and just thought. About all different things.

Carter entered the Common Room clutching the snitch Marie had given her. He still couldn't believe that she had given him something that was so special to her. Smiling he collapsed into one of armchairs. Looking across from him he spotted Ella. With her eyes closed. Smirking he tossed a pillow at her. "Wake up sleepyhead. It's the middle of the day." he teased.

"How are you doing? Rex asked Ella. " Oh sorry, I did not mean to wake you up " Rex told Ella.

Nothing even realizing it Jaylon drifted off into a short nap. His arm crossed over his eyes to block out the light from the room, but what he couldn't block out was the constant talking. But that was normal for falling asleep inside the common where mostly everyone gather to chat and do work. With a soft sigh he moved his arm and opened his very blue eyes. Squinting for a moment as his eyes adjusted to the light of the room. Taking a glance around the room to see who was around.

He watched her quietly; her nervous fiddle with her pantleg, her tiny voice of fear. All these things and more.

Letting out a slow breath, he lowered himself to sit on the couch next to her, clasping his hands in front of himself. "I can, and I will, if that is what you wish. However, I am going to have to ask you to promise to remember one thing." Slowly he looked up at her, searching her eyes. "Remember I am your friend? Remember that no matter what, I am here for you. Remember that my only intention is to help you." Because if she couldn't remember or comprehend that, he knew he wouldn't be able to hold enough patience to try and help her find what she was looking for.

Lexi looked kind of dumbfounded for a moment then tilted her head to one side. "Sabel I am well aware that all you have ever wanted to do since the day I met you is help me or protect me... that is why I am asking you to help me now. I won't push you away, I won't get angry with you... I just want your help. If anyone here now knows me, it's you. There is no one else that could help me," she said matter of factly. With a small smile touching her lips she leaned over and lay her head on his shoulder and pulled her feet up on the couch.

"You know... I missed you most of all, Sabel," she said quietly.

""I would love to go out and meet people, seeing as I'm kind of lacking in the friend department." Adelyn laughed, being a first year was a bit of a pain sometimes. "The Yule Ball? What's that?" She tilted her head to the side curiously.

" Ok, come out to the lake with me" Rex told Adelyn. " We both can meet boys, so I can get male friends and you could get boys to like you and ask you to the "Yule Ball"." Rex said to Adelyn. "The "Yule Ball" is a dance at the end of the term" Rex explained to Adelyn. "Would you like to meet an old alumni friend of mine named Jason Potter Weasley?" Rex asked Adelyn.

"Okay! We going to the lake now?" Adelyn said, her brown eyes shining with joy. "Oh, that sounds wonderful! I wish I could go!" She replied with a bright smile on her face. "Sure, I would like that."

Nessa noticed a girl approaching and look up with a smile. She sat there listening to Brayden introducing herself, "Hey Brayden. Nice name, very unique! My name is Jennessa Taylor but you could call me Nessa. Yeah I'm a first year also and I have seen you around the dorm but I haven't been here often" Nessa added looking around the common room while still sitting on the couch. "How is your day going Brayden?" Nessa asked.

"Sure we can go to the lake now" Rex told Adelyn. "We will get you a boy to ask you to the dance or you could go by yourself Rex said to Adelyn. "Save a dance for me?" Rex asked Adelyn. " good, I will introduce Jason to you at the dance" Rex explained to Adelyn.

"Well good morning there sleeping beauty. Have a nice nap?" Simon teased his yearmate and friend when he noticed the boy waking up from his own position seated off to the side. The dirty blonde himself relaxed with a book that he was glancing through for a class on his lap as he stretched out over his own chair. He had been outside for a bit but had opted to come in to warm up in front of the common room fire and see what others were doing only to find Jaylon asleep.

A small sigh left Sabel as he shifted a little on the couch to get more comfortable. When Alexa curled up next to him, he let his eyes drift down to her, watching her for a moment before pulling his jacket off the back of the couch. "I'm not asking you not to get mad at me. You're allowed to do that. You're allowed to be whoever you want to be around me. I just...wanted you to know that I'm here." Draping the jacket over her, he adjusted it so it acted like a blanket about her form, a small noise of acknowledgement coming from his chest at her last comment. He really didn't know what to say to that, so he just let it be.

"Oh thanks!" Brayden replied. "It's pretty much all my parents gave me. They put me up for adoption as soon as I was born, so I don't no if they were part of the wizarding world or not. My day's been alright. I'm sort of starting to get the spell we were working on in charms class, and I met a Ravenclaw girl named Sophie up by the Owlery."

Lexi let herself be covered up with the jacket and snuggled up all comfy and stuff. Lexi took her hand and grasped Sabel's briefly. "I know, silly boy. I know," she said to him with a grin. Then the GRUNT type thing of scknowledgement when she told him she missed him. OUCH that hurt like Hell. She felt her heart recoil like he had slapped her. He was the best friend she had ever had and that was reason enough to miss him more than anyone else and all she got was a grunt.

On that note she sulled up a bit and started to pout. Mean old Sabel hurting Lexi's feelings like that. *Wibble*

A small smile touched his lips as Alexa curled up cozzily under the jacket. Then all at once she was pouting at him, looking like she was about to cry. Blinking rapidly he sat up a little straighter to look at her properly, a frown tugging at his lips. "What?"

Lexi pulled her legs up and hugged her knees before looking over at him. "I tell you I missed you and all I get is a grunt or sommat... that hurts, Sabel. You are the best friend I had here... you and Dylan were the only ones that wrote to me. I missed you. Can I get something other than a grunt, please, " she said in a tiny sad voice.

Her mind was telling her that maybe Sabel didn't value their friendship as much as she did.

"Hahaha! Very fun....ny," he replied, unble to stop a yawn. Breaking up his last word as he covered his mouth with his hand. Looking over at Simon. "Getting an early start on some work I see," he said, his eyes glancing down at the book in his lap. Figuring that he was looking at it for one of his classes. But he couldn't quite see the title so he wasn't sure which class it was for. Curious to know which class it was for. His lips curled into a grin. "If that's for a class I share with you. Mind sharing the info?" Jaylon asked. In other words he was looking to use Simon's work for cheat sheet.
