Rafe needed to get ready for practice, but he had plenty of time to do so. "Hey Joshy, what's happening?" Rafe said as he walked into the dormitory. He knew Josh wanted to talk to him, but as he watched him pace he was kind of concerned. "Is everything okay?"

When he heard Rafe's voice greeting him, Joshua halted and looked at his housemate ''Finally'' he said half smiling. He was not sure of where to start first or to start immediately. He did not know. All he knew that he needed someone to help him. ''We need to talk about...something. I don't know what to do. My brain is full of things and i don't know how to deal with them''

"Well let's hear it then," Rafe said as he went over to sit on the edge of his bed. There was something a bit off by Josh. He looked really worried about something. Hopefully it wasn't girl problems, Rafe definitely wasn't the one to be talked to in that department, he always went with the opposite of what you should probably do in those situations. But, Rafe sat down with ease and an open mind.

Good. Rafe was going to listen to him yet there was still a problem : where to begin? He knew it would sound absurd but he needed help to protect other students, especially his friends. ''It's that stuttering guy, i mean Jake'' escaped his mouth then he went on ''We were arguing in the great hall and he confessed that he casted the killing curse once. I don't know if it was a threat or not and have no idea if it was true. Professor Kingsley looked serious though and he told me to tell it no one otherwise i'd be in detention again.

Stopping the boy took a deep breath. There was always a risk of detention for him so who cared what Kingsley said. ''It was like he really casted the killing curse. I know he is evil, i feel it. If not now he'd be evil one day so i want to find out if he's really up to something but i need help to do that. Would you help me, Rafe?''

Carter walked into the boy's dorm to find his two favorite house mates. "Hey guys. How's it going?" he asked jumping into his bed.

Rafe wasn't at all surprised at what Josh was saying. "I hear ya, I think he killed those two Hufflepuffs our first year, but that just seemed to blow over." Rafe couldn't believe something never came of it. Two...wait, there might have been three...students had been killed and it just seemed to be hushed up. "Yeah, I was in Kingsley's office and Jake was talking about other curses that could be used for killing other than Avada Kadavra. Do you think he'd kill again?" Rafe could sense Josh was genuinely worried. And it certainly sounded like Jake was being consistent in confiding in Professor Kingsley. "I'm there for you Josh, tell me what you think needs to be done, and I'll be there."

"Hey Sinatra! Oh you know we're talking about death, killing, and the end of the world...well, everything, but the end of the world..." Rafe said with a light chuckle. "Do you know that stuttering Jake kid...or the Hufflepuff Snitch catcher of Death?" Jake was a killer in more ways than one, he certainly had a knack for Quidditch. "Josh, just told me some unsettling news that he's used the killing curse, and I've overheard him talking about using other curses to kill...Personally, I think it sounds like he might be thinking of killing again."

Chris was tired. He walked up the short flight of stairs that led to the Boys dorms and walked in with a short little wave to the other boys. He quickly began to change and he noticed they were whispering and talking to ecah other about something and their looks looked pretty intense.

"What's up guys?" he grinned sitting on the edge of his bed in his pajamas.

"Well that doesn't sound pleasant at all." Carter said looking between the two guys. "Yeah I know that guy." he said. "Yeah. That doesn't really surprise me." he said. "That guy kid sure creeps me out." Okay, so Jake was older than him, but Carter was way more mature so he could call him a kid. "I'm surprised he wasn't expelled long ago." Like back when he was wanted for murder.



"Hey Chris. How'd it going?" Carter asked the head boy. He wondered how much of the conversation Chris had overheard. It probably wasn't the best idea to talk about a fellow student in front of him. Even if it was a student that he was positive was responsible for all those things that happened first year.

Rafe was about to go into more detail about his little Jakers theory, but Head Boy Chris waltzed in. Darn!, Rafe thought. Ah, well...Chris is a good bloke, but this wasn't something you talk about so openly in front of someone with authority.

"Umm...we were talking about summer, I'm probably going to Romania again," Rafe said as he gave Carter and Josh a sideways glance.

Carter looked around. Oh right. Play along. "And I'll be in Russia." he said. Phew, it was a good thing that he actually had a summer plan. He wasn't very good at making things up.

"What about you?" he asked looking at Chris.

Chris gave the boys squinted, suspicious looks for a second. He had heard something that sounded an awfully like a curse and not trusting someone. "Im doing good thanks for asking." The Head Boy grabbed a pillow and layed in his lap and squeezed it.

"So what are you all really talking about? I know it had nothing to do with your summer plans Rafe. Although Romania does sound nice." he winked at the boy with a laugh.

Oh, Chris, he was so wise, you could never put anything past him. "And Romania is amazing, I think I'm going to make it an annual trip, though the bloodsuckers are getting more and more annoying...They think they run the place," Rafe scoffed. He was getting sidetracked and knew Chris wouldn't let it down til he found out what they were really talking about. How could he say this?

"Well...what if you knew this person that you didn't trust, hypothetically?" Rafe said with a raised eyebrow. "And let's say this untrustworthy person was inquiring about dark magic, what would you do?" Well, at least Chris could give some advice on the matter. "Hypothetically of course."

Chris frowned slightly when Rafe began talking about the vampires in Romania that way. "Ok Rafe they aren't bloodsuckers they are Vampires and they maybe feel threatened by you because they aren't represented fairly with their rights?" he said with a sigh. "Its what I want to go into when I graduate, Magical Creatures Law. Not just for Vampires though all of the creatures who are looked down on; Werewolves, House-Elves, centaurs, and Goblins." He then shrugged there was a different time to educate others for his cause.

Then the Head Boy's suspicious look turned to one of concern. This wasn't one of those instances when someone asked for advice for 'someone they knew' when it was really them was it?! "Oh my Rafe, you know Dark Magic is never the answer right!?" he said leaning closer to his friend throwing a look at Josh as if to say, 'We may need to host an intervention.'

"Oh it has nothing to do with rights...they're just...territorial," Rafe said as he bit his lower lip. He didn't want to really get into it. "Yes, they have rights and I'm all for it, but they just think they're better than...others." Rafe knew some vampires from his travels, but the ones in Romania were the worst. For centuries, they had a lot of control of the country, but after Dracula's fall, werewolves began moving in, including his father's pack. The werewolves restored order and the bloodsuckers were grateful for a time, but now they want the werewolves to move out of their country even after all they did. "Stupid greedy bloodsuckers," Rafe growled at the thought under his breath. Next thing you knew there was going to be a war going on. But, this certainly wasn't the time to get into a dispute with Chris.

"Oh, it's not me Christopher!" Rafe shouted as he threw a pillow right at his face. "Besides I only dabble into Dark Magic at home," he grinned.

Chris's head kind of began to spin as Rafe got into the politics of Romanian Vampire/Werewolf desputes. This was way too deep of a concept to process that late. But then he switch back to the previous, mysterious topic. Thanks Rafe. *sigh*

Chris laughed and caught the pillow with a relieved smile. Which then turned to a comical scowl. "That's not funny Rafe!" and then he spoke again. "But seriously if someone was talking about using Dark Magic you need to make sure you heard what they were talking about exactly you don't want to run to a Professor for no reason." he said with a serious tone. "Who is it?" he leaned it, very curious.

Carter just about died of laugher as Chris said that dark arts were not the answer. What was he going to do? Have an intervention right then and there? Well, if one was really needed it wouldn't be a laughing matter... but since that was totally the wrong impression it was okay to laugh.

And laugh he did.

Carter remained laughing so hard that he completely missed the first part of the conversation. Something about blood. Ehh... it probably wasn't important.

And then Carter stopped laughing. Maybe they did need an intervention! Dark Magic was well... dark. But Rafe was smiling. So that meant it was a joke. Right? Didn't he know that Dark Magic was NOT something you joked about?

"Oh, everyone perceives Dark magic with being evil, but it depends on how the person uses it that makes them evil or not," Rafe then caught a glance at Carter. What was going on with him? "Oh, come on Carter, you say you've never been curious about it? I mean there's been a spell or two I've tried that makes the Cruciatus curse seem like you're being cuddled by fuzzy bunnies..." And now Rafe realized he reached the point where they were going to think it was him. Shoot!

Rafe looked from Carter to Chris, they probably wanted to pounce on him or something and send him to St. Mungo's...or Azkaban for that matter. "It's not me okay!" Rafe rolled his eyes. "I don't know if we should say who, because Josh said he'd get detention from a Professor if he said anything about what he heard." How did they get so far off topic? Why couldn't they have just talked about their summers?

Actually, Carter had NOT once thought about Dark Magic. Nope. In fact, he didn't think about much other than Marie and Quidditch. And with those two things always on his mind he didn't really have time to think of anything else.

Hmm... Carter wondered how long it would take him to cast a full body bind. Rafe NEEDED an intervention. He reached for his wand.

But then Rafe changed the subject and Carter remembered what was really important here. Jake.

AH! Where was he? Legend ran up the stairs to the dormitory. Taking one glance around he could tell right away that Pluto wasn't in here. Or was he? "Hey guys!" He called loudly as he sprinted to trunk. Maybe he was...

Wait a second...

"Did someone just say dark magic?"

Rafe couldn't help, but watch Carter's hand. WAS HE REACHING FOR HIS WAND?! "Carter!" Rafe shouted. "Do you really want to do that to someone who just said they've dabbled in dark magic?" Not, that Rafe would ever pull his wand out on Carter or anyone in this very room, but Carter must think Rafe was a complete nutter right now.

Rafe noticed a new addition to the party. Rafe definitely needed to explain now. "You can learn a lot from Dark Magic, like...have you ever heard of the spell, 'Apa moartă'?" Probably not give that it was Romanian. "It means Water of Death. Like Aguamenti, it creates water, but this water, if drunk, makes you see your biggest fears and could even lead to your death. When this was created centuries ago, a witch by the name of Alexandreina Marandici, created a counterspell, 'Apa Vie', The Water of Life." Rafe took in a deep breath. "That water actually has great healing powers, but because it's associated with 'Dark Magic' as you call it, people are scared to use it."

Rafe looked at Carter again. Hopefully, he would have a better understanding. Rafe didn't understand why people were so scared to talk about it?

Chris watched as yet another person entered the dorm room thus ended up joing the conversation. "Good Evening Legend." he grinned. He then turned back to Rafe as he began to talk about some of the Dark Magic he had learned. Although it was not all bad, being Head Boy and all he needed to step in before someone did get bad ideas.

"Ok now that Rafe has cleared his name of BAD dark magic, I think it's best if we dropped the subject." He nodded. Standing back up and moving back to his bed. He could fins out who they had been talking about later, maybe one of the other Prefects knew something. "Anyways what's everyone doing this summer again?" he asked.

'Apa moartă? That was strange. Legend listened to the words closely, he did find dark magic....interesting. Not that he wanted to use it or anything no of course not. It was just....kinda...sorta maybe a little cool. "What if you mix the two together what would happen?" He asked slowly. Ah! Now that was a mystery. Sticking his head into his trunk Legend began to throw things around.

"Scared of the dark magic Chris?" He asked jokingly as he looked up from the trunk. "I'm pretty sure I'm going to Hawaii." He was right? Maybe. "Taking about Dark Magic is way more fun than talking about summer vacation."

Carter looked between all of the other guys. Hmm... he could probably full body bind both of those dark arts fans.

He listened to Rafe. That story was not reassuring at all. It was the opposite actually.

Yay. Finally a subject change. "I'm going to Russia." he said. It wasn't as fun as Hawaii, but he would still have a good time. Plus he had a mission to do there. "Where are you heading to?" he asked Chris.

When he was about to voice his response to Rafe and tell him that he was glad that he agreed to help him Carter showed up. Okay Carter was okay. Then when he opened his mouth again the head boy stepped in the dormitory which made the boy feel a little bit uneasy because he was already in trouble with the authorities in his school. Was there any authority figure left in this school that he had not have a detention with? Maybe two ot three of those new professors.

Sighing as the topic turned into a summer vacation one Joshua started to pace again as he thought of dark magic. Dark magic was always bad. It did not matter whether it is in good hands or not. Dark magic was always dark and evil and... he could not stand it for dark magic killed his sister. And now he was feeling that Evelyn was in danger because she liked to play with that stuttering kid. What if that kid got too angry with her and decide to...NO! He was never going to let him hurt her.

''STOP!'' he raised his voice when it became harder to bear for him ''Please stop!'' breathig heavily he stopped pacing and looked at all the boys in the room ''Dark magic is something filthy that needs to be destroyed. Nothing more.'' and he was not going to let it get Evelyn again.No way. He was even ready to guard her before the entrance to the Slytherin common room. And in a sudden that sounded like a great idea. ''I am sorry'' he said and sat down on Carter's bed.

Patroclus heard shouting and raised voices as he made his way up the stairs to the boys dormitory.
He momentarily paused on the step, wondering if he should continue incase there was an arguement occuring, however he was tired from a day with Pieros his Abraxan and wanted to change out of his riding clothes.

As he made his way into the room he found a collection of other guys hanging out, the air heavy with a certain silence"Hey everyone!" He called as he made his way over to his bed, where he began to pull clothes from his trunk.
